I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior at a UPS Store. I arrived 10 minutes before closing along with a few other customers, and the staff loudly complained about how they "aren't doing any more shipping because it's 4 already," Gianna and the older lady she was working with raised their voice with an annoyed tone even though the store was still open. The old lady that was there had the door locked with people standing outside while she was talking on her cellphone and not acknowledging the customers. She eventually let us in because the store obviously shouldn't be turning away customers if it wasn't closing time (4:00PM) as posted on the front door. Instead of helping anyone, they made rude comments out loud, acted annoyed that customers were there, and showed zero interest in providing basic customer service. If they don't want people coming in before closing, maybe change the posted hours--because treating paying customers like an inconvenience is unacceptable. Horrible attitude, horrible service, and I won't be returning. read more

Very poor customer service. The clerk got mad at me because she kept making typos on the address. I gave her a typed instruction sheet with the address and she was mad because I pointed out the many mistakes she made. She was also upset with me because she didn't know how to properly prepare a return label and then even more upset because I asked if I could add my email address to my information on the customer info screen. I regret sending my documents via this UPS store and am nervous about whether they'll arrive at the proper destination. I had other things to send but I decided it was better to go to another, more distant UPS location. read more

made an appointment for noon for notary service. Arrived at about 11:50am. Got to the counter and said I had an appointment for notary service, and was told they left about an hour earlier for a family emergency. Girl behind the counter suggested the library or another store. If our appointment couldn't be kept from UPS' end, we should have received some kind of notification. We were also going to inquire about mailbox service as well but not after this experience. We left and when we got into our vehicle we got a phone call from the girl stating they were making a call to let us know the notary wasn't in. This was about 5 minutes after we walked out. Absolutely unacceptable! After reading reviews here, and speaking with others that have had a similar experience with this store, it seems to be an ongoing issue with this store/notary. Made an appointment for Notary Service and confirmed. When I arrived I was told she'd just left for the day. I made a second appointment, confirmed, drove there and was told she'd left early for the day AGAIN. Twice in a row and now I have to wait through the holiday. I will go elsewhere. poor customer service. went to return amazon orders, was told i need a box/bag to do so. i tried explaining that i selected "no bag/box return" on amazon and the worker cut me off and told me "amazon says bag/box for returns" and stared at me deadpan. i've made amazon returns to this store before without original packaging/boxes/or a bag. i didn't want to argue so i walked out. never going back here to make my returns. maybe try to teach your employees to smile and offer solutions, from someone who works in the service industry herself. good luck read more

Recently very disappointed with the UPS Store in Sparta. Got a 'quote' (physically brought the item, described contents with full details and requirements, insurance etc). When I received confirmation from the purchaser who approved the shipping amount and paid (which included the UPS Store packing the item) I returned to actually ship only to find it was now $50 higher. Much 'discussion' ensued without any joy. I additionally had a conversation about the 'Pack and Ship' guarantee (posted in the window) and was told it "guarantees they will pack it and ship it" ..seriously. Is there someth-ing else they do? Upsell-ing? Bait and switch-ing? The rather rude salesperson scoffed at the quote. What is the point of it if it isn't a truthful and honored I ship many times a year and I will NOT use them again. I recommend you think seriously about your shipping choices, as well. read more

I have had wonderful experiences previously with UPS in different locations but the experience I had in the Sparta NJ UPS office was humiliating! I was so disgusted I forgot to get the girls name that felt so superior at my expense. She was working on Wednesday 1/18/23 @ 1pm. M only was she rude and nasty, she was actually ENJOYING feeling superior because I didn't have the correct packaging! I made numerous trips to the car to make phone calls to Amazon then back in. More humiliation back to the car,etc. t took me an hour to get 2 shoe boxes sent out. I will NEVER go to the UPS store in Sparta NJ again. Everyone deserves respect. She is in the wrong field of customer service!! read more

Astronomically high shipping costs at UPS. My mom sent me a tiny package, small as my hand-like 1.5 inches wide, weight was less than 7oz and they charged her $41!!!!!!!!!! This was not an overnight, international or 3 day shipment. It was ground!!! It had a prescription bottle in it- literally. She did not use any of their boxes, tape or packing supplies. After this experience I will NEVER use UPS to ship anything, ever again. $41 for the tiniest box I have ever received--and slower than usps priority ! I think the workers at this store should have suggested she place the tiny box in an envelope-would have still be costly but less so. What really gets me is this Sparta location LIED about the weight. They wrote it weighed a pound- exactly 1 lb. That's a complete lie- it didn't even weigh half a pound. Be careful using this place to ship anything except for prepaid label returns. read more

I went to return a package for my elderly mother. First i waited for a while for one of the three workers to wait on me. When another customer came in and started a line that's when the woman behind the counter waved me up to the front. She looked at my package and said no I will not send this back unless it's in the original package. I didn't have the original package. It was the second time I was in the store to return something and I was unaware of their rules. Instead of telling me that I could buy a box and send it out, she just was very nasty and very unhelpful. I will not return read more

Great team there the manager does a fantastic job of team building and morale all of the employees really take the extra time to get to know their customers and it's really nice the employee turnover isn't very high and that's great because they've known us for a long time and it's always a pleasure to walk in and being greeted name when you haven't been there for a while keep up the great job everybody! read more

I have not had any issues with services at this UPS store. Staff has always been friendly and courteous. Especially during this past holiday season when there was a line out the door. I pack my own packages so I can not comment on that service. Their rates are their rates and I haven't found them to be higher than other places that ship. Really , really ,bad customer service. I requested a legal package be sent with signature required. It never happened. I have not done this process before so I had a conversation with the woman putting in my order "what if he was not there to sign?" she said they would go back twice, so it was understood I wanted a signature. Then after calling me dear, I was told UPS does not guarantee anything these days due to COVID (which had no relevance to them ordering a signature required) and then I was told it was my responsibility to check the screen when I paid. Oh, my mistake. No recourse, no partial refund. The manager also kept saying repeatedly that I or someone needs to call the person since it just got left on his doorstep to see if he got it. Again, these were legal documents that I needed a signature for and he just kept repeating the same thing. I said he was not listening to me and then I was pretty sure he hung up on me. Just dropped off a package to be mailed. My sales lady was wonderful! She helped me carry the heavy box in, rang me up efficiently and the UPS driver waited to put it on tonight's truck. This shop has always been on top of what they do. They are a total asset to local businesses in Sparta. And they are open till 7!!! A huge plus. read more
