Well, the service started out well! I went in to request a P.O. Box filled out the forms and gave them everything they needed from me. The Clerk handed me a set of keys to a box that didn't go with the keys. So, she gave me a new set of keys and a new box. A week later, I received mail because I order something and had it sent there. But nothing was never in my box. I tried to let two other Clerks know, but they were very unprofessional and told (yelling) me it takes 3 weeks, and I said okay. I received something from the companies saying the mail was sent back, during to the fact that the first clerk didn't do her job correctly and so I had to pay for then to ship it back to me. The lead clerk acted like she was going to help me and see if I could be reimbursed for the money I had to pay and told me to come back. When I came back on the day, she told me she gave me a bogus story about the district manager was out. So I tking this as a lost. I had no choice but to keep the box, but I will do business somewhere else. Sorry for the bad review. I just really believe in good customer service, and this wasn't it. I want to make a statement, but I won't do it. So if you're ever in San Leandro, CA don't come to this post office because I seen a lot of rude service her not just with me!!! read more

Finally a business that reflects MY beliefs! I can't tell you how many times I've walked into an establishment, minding my own business, when some cheerful employee greets me with a smile and asks me how I am. How am I? HOW AM I? How do you think I am? Mind your own goddamn business and leave me the hell alone until I summon you. Well, let me tell you, when I walk into my local post office NOBODY gets up in my business. They don't even acknowledge me. Sometime I wonder if someone tipped them off about my "no eye contact" rule. I respect that the postal workers in San Leandro don't succumb to any preconceived idea that they should serve customers quickly or efficiently. They take their time with each customer, as if savoring their time with us...it makes the long wait in line worth it. And I can't help but chuckle to myself when there is only one employee working on a line out the door, and another joins her only to handle pick ups. If you need to get in and out of the post office, drive to Castro Valley. If you need an uncomfortably hot, hostile environment to check your messages, write your grocery list, or perhaps read "War and Peace" while standing, get your silly ass over to the 14th Street San Leandro post office. read more

I am compelled to rate this post office in San Leandro because it was the worst experience I've had at any post office. First, I go in with pre stamped priority mail and stamped letters. The clerk immediately says "put that in the box". I proceeded to say no I need a receipt for the priority mail. Then another clerk comes over and hands me a tracking number for the packages and states "here's your receipt". I then said no I need a receipt which shows the packages have been paid along with showing promised date of delivery. They acted as if I was speaking a foreign language and said "oh we don't do that here". When I explained I've had it done at other post offices the clerk then attempts to process the mail. Now there's 3 clerks trying to figure out how to process priority mail and provide a receipt all while over talking each other!!!! Hello??????? I finally received the receipt and got home looked at the receipt and it appears one package was processed incorrectly. Let's hope my priority mail reaches its destination! I'm giving this place 4 stars ONLY because of Sharon and Dolores. They are professional and friendly women and totally opposite from who they sit across from. The white lady on the other side (in the picture above) raised her voice at my grandmother for not filling something out correctly. And other times that I've been there their have been situations with other customers getting upset with her. She's completely unprofessional and needs some re-training and disciplinary action. read more

My mail carrier for my neighborhood who works out of this location is a complete idiot. In my condo complex, our mailboxes are 4x4 inches, but they have a lip on the front for the door hinge and lock. So when I get a package that is exactly 4 inches wide, my carrier decides to wedge it in from the back without any regard for how I'm supposed to get it out the front. This is the third time this has happened. When I call, nobody answers or when they do, I get someone who makes it abundantly clear to me that they don't give a shit about what I'm saying. read more

Suburban post offices are always in strange places. One would think that because every ZIP Code needs a post office (at least I think that's a rule) post offices in the middle of nowhere would at least be centrally located. My reasoning is that the post office should have been there before the suburb got built up so it would have a nice location. This post office proves my theory wrong. I don't know when San Leandro became the strip mall hell that it is, but this post office isn't in any of those strip malls. It's got its own little building with its own little parking lot with its own little parking spaces. There are far too many rules for such a small parking lot, but I followed them. When I came here a few weeks ago, the short line moved quickly. Although the person who helped me was a little bit too friendly, he was efficient, and I was in and out very quickly. read more

Went here to pick up a package after calling the USPS line and being told I could pick it up because it was scanned into the San Leandro post office. The woman at the front desk, older African American woman with a lot of attitude, told me I could not pick up the package because they have 10,000 packages in the back and they can't go through them all to find my package. She was very unprofessional even said out loud to her other colleague you're going to slow. That's not something you say out loud to a colleague when you have customers around. read more

There is ALWAYS a huge line here, no matter what time of day you go. They don't have an automated machine so be willing to wait for an hour just to get a stamp. If you have some simple business, I would recommend driving to the Castro Valley Post office. They have one of the automated machines where you can get stamps, send priority mail, etc without having to wait in line. read more

I've had positive experiences at this post office. I remember being rather frustrated that I arrived a few minutes after it closed on a weekday. I figured that perhaps I can charm my way into getting my package. I chatted with an employee who was friendly and helped me even though the post office was closed. She grabbed my package and I was so happy that she made that extra effort for me. Pros: 1. Convenient Location right off of East 14th, major bus lines served by AC transit, and major corridor 2. PO Boxes- for those that need it 3. Automated machine (if you need it) 4. Lobby hours that extend slightly beyond closing 5. Open for limited hours on Saturdays 6. Multiple postal boxes for drive by drops (beware they are the small slit types which means you cannot have anything too bulky even if it is under 13 ounces) 7. Ample parking 8. Decent customer service and smiles! (trust me...this is long forgotten at most post offices) 9. Clean and spacious 10. I have only been here once, so we'll see how I feel later. I took off one star because it was really slow and took a long time to get to the front of the line (and I was the third person!). The women working here were really nice. I had a bad experience with the Castro Valley post office (there is a postage nazi there who I SWEAR wants me to send all of my letters parcel post), so I decided to make the drive to a new post office. Today when I came by, their computer systems were down. Everyone in line understood that, and asked the cashier, Teresa, if all post offices were affected, could we use checks, you know - trying to find solutions to the problem. Instead of trying to help the customers find a solution to the problem, Teresa decided to respond with as much venom and hatred as possible. That was when she didn't walk away from the counter without an explanation as to what she was doing. Will she be back? Do we wait? Do we go? No one knows. It was like a fucked up Willy Wonka Factory, Post Office style. How is this woman a USPS representative?? Her behavior is scary and unstable. I won't ever go back to this location. So ... Yeah. I came here to have my package shipped and to get check money order. I was called by this black female clerk who seemed annoyed by me asking her question and has a bully attitude. As I was filing out the money ordered she told me to move over to the side. I was like excuse me to her in a loud voice. I looked over and no one was behind me. She is rude and a bully. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. I somehow keep forgetting that every time I come here there is a line. Not necessarily a long line, but a line that always takes at least 20 minutes to get through. Every. Single. Time. I live only a few blocks away, so I've been here plenty of times and at different hours. The only plus sides are that it looks nicer/more modern than the other post offices in San Leandro. Oh, and the drive-thru mail slots are convenient. If you just plan on dropping something off or you have to pick up a missed delivery, by all means (not like you have a choice with a missed delivery). My wife and I are extremely disgusted first by the attitude of the so called lead postal clerk Ms. Cyril who has been rude us. I held my tongue for months when Ms. Cyril addressed me rudely as if why I go there. When I pointed out to her that instead she addressed me as a customer say Morning Sir etc. She lost her cool and in a very rude and demeaning manner said, "Well how can help you SIR..." 2. Yesterday she did the same thing to me when my wife when we were talking to another clerk and she jumped, across in the conversation. I told her that I did not her input as we were talking to another clear. She fired back, " Well I am the lead here." I said thank you but I did not need her help. She went off and kept making demeaning statement. 3. We then proceeded to see Mr. Rajinder Pal to collect an item on a postal notice that did not have our name and where to pick from. 4. We had just returned from 1777 Abram Ct location where my wife was told 2 days back by Ms. Cyril that the mail was at this location. We were told that the item actually is at E14th Street location. 5. Mr. Pal said he had been intimated of it by the Abram Ct. location but we could not find the item and needed time to locate it. 6. We made a verbal complaint to Pal about Ms Cyril's attitude and left for home. read more

They even gave me advice and information about the area because I moved here from the east coast. Nice looking post office from the outside. Once you go inside, expect to have a long wait. The few times I've gone here, they have only had one person working behind the counter and the waiting line was all the way to the door. Once you do get your turn, the worker wasn't that friendly. Then again, I don't really blame her. Left there all alone dealing with customers who didn't quite understand what a "return address" means. Still waiting in line waiting for the post office to open. Opens at 9am, and now it's 9:24am. Can not replace lost time. It would not let me post zero stars, had the ring the buzzer next to that closed counter area, and packaging individual said that she does not know what's going on because there is no clerk available at the post office. I asked her if this was a continuing normal thing and she answered, I don't know I'm not a clerk. As I considered waiting longer to see when it would open, a car drives up into the gated area and I was skeptical to see if this was going to be the clerk. So I waited another 15 minutes and still the lobby was not open. Since I have to live also, I went to another post office and then returned approximately an hour from the original opening of the San Leandro post office, and loan and behold, it was a clerk, the only one clerk that I watch drive through the gated area but not have the courtesy to open up on time. I'm pretty sure this is an ongoing thing, for how large the San Leandro area is, we only have one clerk. Come down to the post office on E. 14th St. and experience the customer service and the post that I have read. You would think with all the negative post that something would be done, this needs to be brought up to hire attention, but I doubt it. Have a good day. read more

The service is here PATHETIC. Try calling them. They virtually NEVER answer the phone. Usually someone just picks up the phone and hangs up. I did a vacation hold for my mail. I was gone 2 weeks and when I returned, I had 4 pieces of mail??? Seriously, not even a single piece of junk mail, so I know they lost my mail. I must be spoiled. The San Lorenzo Post Office is awesome. I have a Yelp review from several years ago so you can see for yourself. However, this location.. POSTMASTER YOU NEED TO START TALKING TO CUSTOMERS.. YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE, NOT HELPFUL, and DON"T CARE. I have tried to contact you, but the pit bulls at the counter tell me you're not available or you don't deal with things like this.. POSTMASTER, this is a reflection on YOU AND WHAT YOU ALLOW. You must not care either. Story #!: Apparently even though we live in SLZ, our mail now comes through this SL location. We had a package that we were waiting for. USPS Tracking indicated it had been delivered, yet we didn't have it. There have been a lot of packages stolen off of porches and we were a bit worried. I went to the SLZ location with the tracking number and they told me to go to the San Leandro Post Office. I went to the San Leandro location and told the clerk we didn't receive a package but the tracking number says it was delivered. She said "what do you want me to do about it?". I aksed her to check to see if they had it here at the PO. She checked and said no. I then said I was worried it had been stolen off of our porch and asked what I could do. She said "how do I know you didn't get it.. you could just be saying that". Seriously?? I told her I didn't have it and asked what to do if I thought it had been stolen. She said nothing unless I could prove it was stolen because "you could just be saying that it was stolen". I asked if stealing mail was a federal offense and again she asked what I wanted her to do. Um, I don't know.. what does the post office do in a case like this? Do I file a report? Do I call the sherriff to report it? Can I talk to the Postmaster? Apperently not. Apperently I'm just out of luck. This employee was not helpful, not friendly, and was blaming me for a package that I didn't get. Story #2: I had two packages to mail. I had them properly boxed, weighed and had a bar codes and postage already on the boxes. At the SLZ PO I wait in line and they will provide a receipt for me showing that the items were dropped off. However, the San Leandro location doesn't do this and had no idea what I was talking about. Again, I'm dealing with the same woman that I dealt with in Story #1. This time she said "No receipt! What do you think we are, a full service counter?". OK, great, here we go again. I said please put them on the scale, punch in the zip code and the other information, and print out a receipt that shows that this package/tracking number was no in the hands of the USPS. The SLZ PO has done this for me literally a hundred times! She said no. She said they don't do that and had no idea what I was talking about. I wish I had a few of my receipts from the SLZ PO to show her. POSTMASTER, you are allowing your employees to treat customers horribly. While I was waiting in line I witnessed other incidents. Do you ever review your security tapes to watch the transactions? I can give you the exact date and time when I was dropping off my items and you can watch what happened with your own eyes. Your employees are dealing with the public and I understand that it is often difficult, but their days would go a lot better if they weren't so bitter and ugly toward customers. A smile and a kind word go a long way. Showing some empathy and understanding does wonders. Being helpful is good too. Your employees are miserable. Clearly they don't like their jobs or working with the public. They are NOT helpful and they don't care. Not only that, YOU ARE ALLOWING THIS! I think the San Leandro Post Office needs a new POSTMASTER and new employees who all have decent attitudes. read more

I am really upset with the service that they give at this location I talk to the supervisor and she told me they will not be mailing my mail to my house anymore because I'm having an issue with them with my dogs so she told me I only have a choice of find a PO Box or they're going to stop my mail completely but they gave me a chance me a while to only pick it up on Saturdays from 10 to 12 so I went today around 11 and the guy that's working at the Dutch door tells me my mail has been mailed which I believe that's a lie because they have not mailed it all week why would they mail it on Saturday when he told me to pick it up at this point I am just really upset they keep making me drive back and for doing all this unnecessary stuff and I just think they're so unprofessional they need to hire new staff that actually know what they're doing and that's that read more
