Frustrating to deal with. There was a change of address mistakenly submitted for me without my knowledge or consent. I have lived in the same house for decades. For the past year, I've been dealing with credit cards not working because of the change in address, dealing with my bank's fraud department, utility bills being mailed to the wrong address, not receiving mail-in ballots because my voter registration changed, and all 3 major credit bureaus reporting an inaccurate current address. When I finally figured out what was going on, I went in to this facility to hopefully get this sorted out. The first supervisor I spoke to, Jenny, had no clue what I was talking about and took down my details and promised to be in contact. Never heard back, so I went in again on a weekday and got a different supervisor. I requested to fill out a change of address form so that I can hopefully reverse all of the changes that have been made. However, this supervisor kept denying that a change of address service would have affected the address on file at any banks because they dont divulge this information .....which is in direct contradiction to the fine print on the back of the change of address form she handed me See my picture. They are just plain clueless about how their own systems work. What a major security headache it is that a change of address could be submitted in my name without my knowledge or consent! I hope this never happens to anyone else.

Someone literally took off the tape and took the inside contents.
    Chau T.

My mail was returned due to insufficient postage, but when I received it, the contents were missing--it was completely empty. Since I have a locked mailbox, the only time this could have happened was between October 2, when I dropped it off at the post office, and October 11, when I received it back. There was no opportunity for an outsider to access it. When I went to the post office to investigate, the supervisor told me there was nothing they could do and suggested that the contents might have fallen out. I explained that someone had clearly opened the taped envelope and stolen the photocards inside. His response was dismissive, saying that only letters are allowed in the mail and implying that I should have made a 'smarter decision'--essentially blaming me for the theft. This kind of response is unacceptable and amounts to victim-blaming. He also claimed that photocards are not allowed in the mail, even though I've successfully mailed similar items before. To make matters worse, he said there was no way to file a formal complaint. However, I easily found the USPS complaint form online and have already submitted one.

I mailed it on 6/24, and it was supposed to arrive by 6/30. I tracked the letter via the USPS website, and as of 6/27 8:57 am, it had arrived at the Santa Ana distribution center. I continued to check the USPS website, and there were no further updates. On 6/30, I spoke with a rep at the Santa Ana Distribution Center, and she advised that the El Monte Office may have failed to scan it. She gave me the name of the Postmaster, Daniel Jardines, and gave me a number to call: 626-444-1966. I called the number and Jose answered. He started of with an attitude, but I advised that I was given this number. He said that the number was for employees use. I explained that I was tracking a certified letter, which was time sensitive, and after a brief hold, he said that the El Monte office did not have the letter. I asked if it was possible that the letter had not been scanned when it arrived, and he said that wasn't possible. He then told me that he would call me back the next day. A couple of days later, I checked with Carvana, and they received the letter. As of 7/16, the USPS site shows the letter at the Santa Ana Distribution center, and I have yet to hear from Jose. This has been a very frustrating experience, considering that I paid extra to send the letter via Certified mail, the tracking system did not provide accurate information, and despite Jose's insistence, the letter had obviously had been processed through the El Monte office. Jose should have reached out to me with updates, but I have to believe that he did not feel it was a priority, despite me having told him that the letter was time sensitive. He should not have set the expectation that he would follow through and contact me if he did not have the intent to do so. On 7/17/26, I received a call from Jay, who once I asked, identified himself as a supervisor. He asked for the certified mail tracking number. He was unprepared for the call, as he missed key details in the inquiry that I submitted. Once I pointed them out to him, he was still unable to provide a satisfactory answer. He "assumed" that the certified mail barcode sticker had come loose between the Santa Ana Distribution Center and El Monte Post Office, which is why the letter wasn't scanned, and therefore no updates were available in the USPS tracking system. He mentioned speaking with the carrier to see if he/she "remembered" the letter. That seemed to be an unrealistic request, due to the amount of days that had gone by. He didn't address why Jose didn't follow up with me. Jay displayed poor leadership qualities, despite according to him, his "many" years as a postal carrier. He did refer me to the post office where I dropped off the certified letter to request a refund. He did not offer any empathy for this negative experience, and did not offer an apology. I advised him, that since he was a "supervisor", to take a look at the consistent trend of negative reviews on Google and Yelp for the El Monte Post Office, and advised that improvements start from the top. He was noncommittal in taking the time to look at those reviews. In short, he wasted my time.

I would highly recommend anyone DON'T COME TO THIS USPS Location in TEMPLE CITY…read more I have consistently had negative experiences every time I visit the Temple City USPS Post Office. The attitude and tone of an employee named Kay have made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on multiple occasions. This is not the first time Kay has insisted on policies that do not appear to exist. During my most recent visit, I brought prepaid packages with shipping labels that had been created in Arcadia and attempted to drop them off at the Temple City Post Office. Kay told me that this was not allowed and instructed me to return to the Arcadia Post Office to mail the packages. To my knowledge, prepaid USPS packages can generally be dropped off at any USPS Post Office, regardless of where the label was created. It seemed as though this policy was simply made up without any legitimate basis. The way I was treated left me feeling singled out, disrespected, and discriminated against. No customer should feel uncomfortable or be given inaccurate information when using USPS services. This appears to be an ongoing issue at this location. The Temple City USPS Post Office currently has a 2.4-star rating based on more than 100 customer reviews, which suggests that many other customers have had similar experiences. I respectfully request that USPS investigate this matter, review the employee's conduct, and ensure that customers receive accurate information and professional, respectful service in the future.

What I got in return was, 2 pick ups with no response, as in they just took the phone off the hook, and one pick up with a promise to get a call back from a supervisor, Oscar or Nora? which never happened. At this point, they have overcharged my high school student son by $455. That was on May 11, today is May 27 and they still cannot rectify it. I have worked in customer service for years and this is the most inept thought process and management I have ever witnessed. If you see that you clearly are the reason for the gross error, and you can take out the money so easily in one day, clearly you can return it the same way which would of course take up to three business days, but not 16. At this point, we have been in there a total of three times and yesterday they had the nerve to tell us to come back to bring the receipt that they have in their freaking system. As I was driving to my next destination, I thought that I should have purchased more stamps. It's good to put them back into circulation, right? ... because two international stamps are only $2.90 right now. It's a great time to use coins as payment for this small amount of currency!
