Horrible service. I arrived 3 minutes before 5pm, the doors were already locked to the lobby. The boxes and supplies to ship priority, which are free, are locked up. I asked if I could grab one to package tonight as I live 30 minutes away and they said no!!! Come back tomorrow. It was not 5, my time on my cell phone is accurate. Plus there was no reason to not let me have a FREE box. I am so disappointed in the workers here. We are a small town and it would not have put them out. They were still servicing customers that made it through the doors before they locked them. read more

Updated Review: The post office have improved significantly over the last year +.... They appear to have increased their staff, adding important capacity & reducing wait times. Also, their focus on friendly & helpful service is noticeable.. Even those staff who were previously "grumpy" are now far friendlier & patient with a involved transaction. Although there was a line, there was several open windows to assist in getting things done in a very quick manner. Seemed odd in a way. Lol Ryan was whom helped me with shipping things as I don't this often and was in need of help. He was patient and polite, got what I needed done quickly and even saved me a few bucks on adjusting what type of shipping type I needed. Did not make additional effort to track down a certified package that has been sitting in the Phoenix Postal Annex for 2 months. We have lived here a year, and have had more problems than the 10 years we were served by another usps location. Our mail has been delivered to a similar address several times, and theirs to us. On several occasions, tracking info said packages were out for delivery, but came days later. After a recent snowstorm, the carrier wrote (s)he was unable to deliver for 2 days even though cars were traveling in and out. We have been given conflicting info about picking up packages, causing us to make unnecessary trips to the post office. We have also had a lot of difficulty getting through on the phone. The only positive thing I can say is that employees have generally been courteous, even while giving us incorrect info. read more

I am very unhappy with the service we get at either of the post offices here at Prescott from the grumpy fellow at historic courthouse location and now today I couldn't be more upset. I go to mail a few small envelopes that I need to tape label onto and , though in past they've helped with this, not today! The service rep points to the wall and says I need to buy a huge roll of their tape for sale to adhere these small labels. No way ! So I crossed the street to CVS for the tape. CVS mgr said they get s lot of business from the post office doing this. Please change your inconsiderate poor customer service. This is a zero-star review. I used to enjoy going to the post office on Miller Valley Road up until today. I carry a lot of things in my wallet and 2 employees in there said that the two stamps (that had been in my wallet for a long time) that were on my package were invalid and had been used. What a crock of crap. I don't like being accused of something that is incorrect. I will use this post office again but I will never go to those two tellers ever, ever again. It makes a difference which person helps you at this branch, which is a shame. The manager is quite helpful and listens and is pleasant, but without naming names, the same isn't true for everyone working there. I have rural delivery and it works correctly less than half of the time. I've never had so many postal issues as I've had since living here and using this office. Sometimes they deliver and sometimes they don't . Sometimes they leave a note, and sometimes not; sometimes the note is accurate and sometimes it isn't. The whole reason I have things shipped here is to avoid driving downtown or out to the post office, so this sort of problem is frustrating. Most recently they got the erroneous idea we didn't live here anymore and were returning our mail to senders. Still sorting that out. read more

Why review a Post Office? 'Cuz this one has some cool features. Like any busy location, the lines to get to the service counter can get really long. . But during the busy times they do something cool: an employee comes out to the line with a hand scanner, and if you're paying with plastic and have a straight-forward quick transaction, they take care of you right there and send you on your way! How cool is that? They also have quick drive-thru mailboxs for drop offs and 24-hour access to PO Boxes. The down sides are that the parking lot can be a tetris game of cars and people though during busiest times. Also during those times leaving the lot, which is right next to a traffic light corner, can be a pain. But at least while you're waiting for the green traffic light to clear the street, you can check out the ever changing person-in-need-with-a-sad-dog-on-leash-and-a-cardboard-sign standing/sitting on the corner hoping for your largess to come their way. No, seriously... I'm not making fun of the homeless, or people down on their luck! I go to this P.O. three times a week and I am convinced this is an organized panhandling consortium that has their operation and methods down pat, and this is the perfect, captive busy corner. The person and the dog rotate frequently, but the identical methods in their manner of presentation... well... (really! this stuff exists! google it!) read more

Consistently disappointed. There has not been one informed delivery that lines up with the post office delivery to P.O. boxes. I have had countless letters a week later appear in my box, packages have been lost without informing me AT ALL. Perishable packages have been actually put in a parcel box 2-5 DAYS AFTER the delivery was made to the post office. I am so upset and disappointed that a POST OFFICE cannot delivery mail to the P.O. Boxes even though they've received them and the packages and mail is somewhere in the building they still "can't find anything". I am at a complete loss as to why this is consistently and continually occurring. Absolutely outraged by the way mail and parcels are being handled here. read more

Poor if no response when I call, packages never received that we're supposed to have been according to informed delivery. Just hope you never have to contact the post office, its probably more probable to be able to speak with Santa clause. At least Santa clause doesn't send a package from one city to the next, back and forth literally 3 times. We came to this post office for the passports. They made more than 5 mistakes on the passport. They don't check their work if their is any mistakes. He didn't take any time to check his work, so he put the wrong application for the wrong kid. I never recommend this place for passports. Very bad service. read more

We are moving into new construction but haven't been able to change our address on most online sites because it isn't recognized yet. We stopped by this post office today and Judy welcomed us to her counter. We briefly described our issue and she asked us if we hadn't been in recently regarding our new address. We had, about three months ago to request mail delivery by their contracted carrier and to ask about mailbox regulations. I couldn't believe that Judy remembered us and the reason we'd gone in. I mail same pkgs, same weight each day and each counter person gives me a different price, huge differences, not just a dollar or so. The Miller Valley Road branch of USPS is the single worst USPS experience of my lifetime. I've lived here for over 10 years. I have terrible mail service to my residence. On a regular basis I have to redeliver mail to my neighbors because their letters or packages were left in my box (it's a cluster box). And, I've had the honest ones redeliver stuff to me. Of course, I've had many items just never arrive so either my dishonest neighbors kept it or it just never made it in the first place. I get online delivery notices that a package was delivered only to find out it was still in possession of the post office for days or weeks, forcing me to file a claim for them to mysteriously find it. I was so fed up, I got a PO Box. Oddly enough, the service is just as bad there. I get mail for other people, yet once I had a business letter sent there (my own business) but it was rejected and returned to sender saying address unknown because it was a business name not my personal name. They damage items. They inspect every package to make sure people aren't abusing media mail rates with non-media items and the few that have I end up with a postage due notice (the last one was for CDs that they said didn't qualify because they were sent to me in a CD case and the case wasn't media and had value so it's not qualified as a media mail package in whole). The customer service is terrible. The lines are out the door most days. I am literally tempted to move just to be in a different zip code from these idiots. I wish they would privatize this service. The USPS is a dinosaur that gets more and more sick every year. read more

I love the building, love the drive in mailboxes. Not a fan of the customer service or the wait. Also, make sure you stand behind the wait sign until they've made eye contact and have called you. I get why, but theres a nice way of putting it. I'm also going through a rough time trying to ship all this stuff to someone who moved away. All Im saying is a smile goes a long way in customer sevice. Will use this post office as a last resort. The other ones are more easy going, quick and friendly. read more

If there was a minus star, that would be the rating. I called to ask how a letter to be mailed gets picked up and was told I would have to "figure it out." A couple of weeks ago, a delivery, a large box, was left in the in the dirt near the row of mail boxes. The message left by USPS to the retailer was it was put inside the mail box (which is way too small.) Asked for help on getting my mail delivered to my door as I am elderly and disabled and was told to pick up a form for my MD to fill out, "it's going to take a long be time". They are rude and inefficient. Absolutely not willing to help the elderly or disabled. read more

This post office has drive through mail boxes, a self-service kiosk open at all hours, and friendly staff. It is not well laid out, in that you have to go past people in line to get mailing supplies - there is almost always a line during business hours. If you need Tyvek Priority envelopes make sure to ask; they must be popular as I've been there countless times and actually thought the post office had discontinued them. Overall a nice post office. I love going to Prescott's downtown post office (classic old building) when in the courthouse area, but usually my go-to post office location is Miller Valley. Not only do they have 3 to 4 staff members on duty, but you never feel rushed. They are very pleasant and welcoming-each and every one of them! And...this is a very busy post office! Trying to send a bulk mailing is never a pleasant experience here. The people who work back in the are are always in a bad mood, act like you are putting them out by coming in and are nasty, mean and unhelpful. If there were any other option for bulk mailing I would never go ther again. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Not only are the people IN the post office rude and unfriendly, their carriers are worse! I work at a business, and in the 2+ years I've been here, the mail has NOT been delivered or outgoing mail, (some of which is time sensitive) been picked up, at least five times. This may not sound like much, but for a business that needs it's mail delivered and picked up EVERY DAY this is unacceptable. The last time this happened, less than two months ago, the postman told me, " Well, we were busy yesterday." Oh. Too busy to DO YOUR JOB?! We close in fifteen minutes, and AGAIN, no sign of a postal employee! Someone needs to come to Prescott and clean out the post offices here and hire all new management, at the very least. We've also had marketing postcards returned as "no such address" which is really odd, since when I put the address into an internet search it is right there! read more
