I have lived all over the country and this is the worst mail delivery I've ever encountered. Letters are frequently lost and parcels are never delivered. My front door is about a hundred feet from my mailbox, but do you think the carrier will make that trip up my driveway? Nope, they'd rather make me drive 10 miles to the PO to pick up my parcel, even if it would have fit in the mailbox! read more

I received a text msg that my package had been delivered to my mail box (community box) but it was not there. I tried calling this post office several times at different times and continuously and no one will answer. I finally called the USPS number and filed a service request and received a automated response letter the next day from Phoenix PO. I chased down the mail carrier about a week later and he said he remembered the package and then opened our community box to see if it was in someone's box and also at the street over with the same # as our address - not there. He knocked on the door 1 street over same # as our address and no answer. He said he'd try again and let me know. Heard nothing. Called USPS again and got a recording saying the service request was resolved????? When I finally got a person on the line, they filed another service request. 2 days later Phoenix PO called and left a message to call her so she could help me file a insurance claim from my end. I have been calling, calling, calling - NO ANSWER! WORST service ever! Guess I'll call USPS again and be on hold another 40 minutes as I was last two times. A side note. This is our second home so not here full time - not much mail. I mailed a birthday card and check to my daughter-in-law in CA from our community box and she never received it and it never came back to me although it had a return address. read more

Do yourself a favor and do what I do, go out of your way NOT to come here. I had been coming here far too many times and finally learned my lesson. My last experience there will in fact be my last experience there. I show up on a Friday afternoon to pick up a single stamp. Sure I could buy these at the store but really all I needed was one stamp, I had no idea it would be this much of a hassle! First off, there's 5 or so people in line in front of me. I guess it was bad timing, oh well. I didn't get irritated until the lady in front of me starts chatting up a storm about the beauty of stamps and going on and on, holding the line up another year. That's great and all, but the employee could have still politely helped the next person, given there were only 2 staff members present. Right at that time the other staff member loudly announces 'I'm going on break.' WTH? The other staff member points out to the growing long line when she says something along the lines of I guess I could help them, but then proceeds to leave anyway. So she comes back 15 minutes later and I'm STILL in line for my one single stamp. Give me a break! My little disclaimer, I get it they were short staffed and probably over worked. But the attitude didn't help and it could at least be noted that the staffing structure and management needs some looking into. read more

This has to be the worst place in the world. I've been here for 30 minutes to pick up a parcel while watching one person work the counter and two people mosey around doing what looks like nothing. There is a line out the door. Super glad that isn't a daily trip. This lady Debbie down here is probably the most unpleasant witch I've ever come across. Just watched her make this 90 year old lady wait aside on the counter for an unknown reason. Hard to believe people like this have jobs. read more

Just moved it 6 days ago. Change my address online before we moved in through USPS and they said "all good! Everything will be sent to the new address!" Then when we move in and found out that there's no mail box and you have to use the PO Box. I go into the post office and the lady wasn't very helpful and didn't seem to care at all. ALL the mail we should've received (including paychecks) have been sent back to the sender. SO FRUSTRATING read more

The Piedmont Post Office may be the worst post office in Portland. I am reluctantly a regular here. I have a po box, and there aren't many alternatives if you need to mail a package in North Portland. Here's the thing. It's actually faster for me to DRIVE DOWNTOWN to use the automated machine than to wait in line here. Today, I stood in line for THIRTY MINUTES to mail a package. (There were about five people ahead of me.) The two employees working the front desk are tired and overworked, and no doubt regularly deal with frustrated customers. I get that their job is not the best one ever and I don't think the wait is their fault. But I wish they would take a hint from the constant lines and annoyed customer base and bring in more staff. I'm pretty sure they know when their busiest hours are. Here's what else I dislike about this location: - You're on your own to find street parking. They have reserved exactly two and a half car lengths out front for customers: 20-minute parking. You'll probably have to park in front of the tow lot (careful!) and then brave your way across Killingsworth which adds another three to five minutes onto an already-arduous journey. - Crap hours. It drives me mad they are not open longer on Saturdays. THE DAY MOST PEOPLE CAN GET TO THE POST OFFICE since they aren't open past 5:30 on weekdays. - Long wait, every single time. If there are more than two people in line and you don't have thirty minutes, try somewhere else. No, really. I literally have to hire a babysitter so I can go to the post office. - As a PO Box customer, they regularly file previous boxholders' mail into my box instead of taking the time to return to sender. I receive her bills, her correspondence, and various other annoying papers. This leaves me zero confidence that any mail of mine after I leave will ever make it to me, even with a forwarding address on file. - Today I watched as the employee out back threw boxes 20 or so feet into the large sorting bins. Her aim was impressive! I expect my packages to get tossed around in transit a bit, but this reminded me of that guy's song "United Breaks Guitars" (youtube!) We all know the USPS is having fiscal difficulties and facing cutbacks, but I am sad that my only close option for a basic utility, US Mail, is an uncomfortable, time-consuming experience every single time. One extra front staff person would make a huge difference at this location, as would more convenient saturday hours so people could actually pick up their packages in a timely manner. read more

DO not come here. Every time has been a nightmare, but today takes the cake. I had to send two certified mail letters and there was only 1 person in front of me. I was in this post office for over half an hour! Honestly, drive wherever you have to, in order to save yourself. read more

This post office has great service for such a small location. The staff is usually very helpful for such a chaotic place. The only downside is it does not have an automated postal machine which sometimes saves time if a post office is crazy busy. read more

I don't even live in Portland, and have to agree with the locals that this place blows. Came here on a Sat morning and there was a long line with ONE person at the counter. I needed a medium flat rate box but there was none in the display stand. Then I look behind the cashier counter and what do you know, there are med. flat rate boxes not put out. Is it so hard to fill up the bins before you open for business people (and yes, I was there when they just opened, so they didn't fully stock their shelves)? read more

This post office has created enormous trouble for us ever since we moved into our new home one week ago. They refuse to deliver mail because our box "isn't at ground level" which has required calling twice and physically going to the office three times now. Every single house on our block has a mailbox that requires a few steps to get to at the front door, and they fail to explain why our house is an exception and why we are being discriminated against. Most recenty, on the third trip to the office, the post worker concluded they must have given our most recent mail to the wrong person. " Or maybe the neighbors".
