Had to drive over here after waiting around all day Saturday as we got messages saying our package which required a signature was out for delivery. First it was 11 AM to 2 PM. Then it was 3 PM to 5 PM. Then it was 5PM to 8PM. Then we get a notice that we weren't home.... Do they care that their driver lied about attempting a delivery so that they could just dump a note in the mailbox down the street, and go home. ? Nope. This is an extraordinary location. I don't frequent very often, as nowadays most needs are accomplished via internet, its websites and e-mail. But I have to mention, there are things you can't go without the USPS with. And, I have to mention that this is a fabulous, expensive, and well thought out facility, it's welcoming and clean, easy on the eye and well managed, and I have to give kudos where due. There is an exceptional employee here, I don't recall her name, but she's taken care of me many a time, and I appreciate her work and tenacity (the last time I saw her was the morning of 12/12/24 while mailing a huge package to my family). This huge facility at the time apparently only had two (2) staff members on hand. Awkward for the busy Holiday Season. My fave Lady at the Counter, and someone handling pickups. As most Yelp readers may know, a business staff is not responsible for management's scheduling practices - as we know, most business' are currently stressing staff to do more with less. As a former/retired operations manager, I am not in favor of such practices. But apparently the USPS, especially at this location is. Kudos to this Post Office employees who must deal with and be subjected to harassment and foul-mouthed occasional customers with no respect. In November 2024, I moved into a new house and needed a key to access the mailbox. I've been waiting for the key for the past five months. I visited the store twice a month to check if the key was ready, but it never was. On April 1st, I was informed that the key had been made in December, but it was never given to me and had been lost. They said they would place a new order for a key, but I haven't heard anything about it being ready yet. Also keep having to put my mail on hold cause they randomly decided to deliver it to the box. I hate this location I used to live at 24st and Roosevelt and they were great always delivering never an issue always got my Mail this location is notorious for delivering wrong mail from other streets they also can't get off the vehicle to deliver the mail especially when someone blocks your mail box that you can't control. They also are always packed so when I have to pick up my mail their location is packed by people picking up their mail because they won't get off their cars. I paid over $100 International Express Mail to get a parcel delivered to my family by Christmas time - the parcel was delivered 6 weeks late. Not only that but someone from this post office location called me a 2 weeks AFTER Christmas asking if they could inspect the box. I asked them why they didn't do it when I first dropped off the box instead of sitting on it for 2 weeks! After filing a complaint and request for money back USPS told me that they had "suspended" money back guarantee because of COVID. Of course they did....No effort was made to contact the local post office to correct the poor procedure that caused this problem in the first place. Not only that, but the postal worker ripped off all the wrapping paper on the gifts and made a mess and stuffed them back into the package. My family got a parcel that was in horrible condition. After two failed deliveries of my package and the carrier refusing to follow the instructions I provided in the mailbox and online via the redelivery link I had to go to the post office. I am immunocompromised and I was trying to avoid this, especially during a global pandemic. I walked into the South Mountain post office at 16:30 on Friday 4/10/20 to be not so kindly greeted by a very tall gentleman with brown hair who told me they were closed at "4:30pm" and my delivery pick up notice (both of them) that was left in my mailbox says that I can pick up until 16:50 which is 4:50pm. The gentleman proceeded to argue with me and tell me that "16:50 is 4:30pm". I showed him my piece of paper and then he proceeded to argue with me. I shared with him that I worked on a military base and a hospital and I know that 16:50 is 4:50pm. He proceeded to say "If I worked on a military base I should know how to read military time.". I've been treated poorly at the post office nearly every time I go, but this is UNACCEPTABLE and completely uncalled for. I'm frustrated because I've done everything in my power to try and receive MY package and the USPS doesn't seem to care. I see a lot of negative reviews but I must be the lucky one with an excellent carrier. She has been wonderful. She places packages with care and is very respectful and friendly. I hope she stays and looks like that could use her to train everyone else. I also have a PO Box and I have gotten others mail at times, i just take it back up and drop it back at the window. The only thing i have to agree with others is Mail has been extremely slow. I have to send things with deadlines 2 weeks in advance now depending on where they go. I've always been helped and satisfied at this location. I built a new house and there seemed to be some confusion with usps and servicing my new address and I didn't get the right mail. Constantly I have online orders held up by the phoenix post office. It seems they are given a deliver by date and wait until the last moment to deliver the package. I track my orders to ensure there is no problem. Many packages come from Florida, and make it to Phoenix within two days, then it takes days to get the package to me. Presently they are holding three packages that have a deliver date by 4th December. They have had these packages since November 30th! The longest traveling package only took two days to get to Phoenix. LA California is faster at moving packages! There is no justification for this delay. They can not claim holiday workload, they have done this same thing even in the middle of summer! read more

If I didn't have to use this service with these worthless, useless fools, I wouldn't. I'm seriously thinking about using UPS ONLY for packages. They deliver when they feel like it- e.g. I can receive a text stating my packages have been delivered, only to go to the box and they not be there. My package was supposed to be delivered YESTERDAY! Pathetic customer service. I teach. I always work over time for FREE, always, every single day. I google this post office hours and it says 5pm. I rush over. I get inside and there is one worker at the window finishing up with one customer. A male postal worker tells me "We're closed." I say, "I looked it up and it said 5pm." He tells me no, it doesn't. So I SHOW him. He says no, we always close at 4:30pm. I look at my phone, it is 4:33pm. So I say, "You won't help me? I am just out of luck?" And he says "Yep" I gotta tell ya, to work your butt off serving others and get treated like that is a slap in the face. It might have taken 5 more minutes of their time. Two starts because when I go to the actual building for help it has always been great. Unfortunately the delivery aspect of this post office is horrible. In the 3 years I have lived here I have had 8 packages missed delivered. If you live in a neighborhood with a cluster box, and an item is certified or needs signature confirmation, you will have to pick it up at the post office yourself. No attempt is made at a delivery. Important items are no longer sent through the post office. I am self employed and now have to go through the hassle of picking up payments at my clients offices, after a very substantial check was delivered to the wrong house. read more

They need to fire their delivery driver who keeps misplacing packages and mail when the mail's tracking says out for delivery, I never get. Ever since I moved here they keep losing my mail. Never experienced such incompetent mail workers. First they lose an important Title and Key mailed to us after we purchased a home, as the driver didn't leave any slips for us, rather took the package back to USPS and shelved it only to find out it's missing! Then the latest is I ordered a few items on ebay, tracking says Out for Delivery, then tracking says left in mail box. Cluster mailbox is locked and there was mail, just not the package the tracking states I got. So frustrating! I may as well go to some high-end store and buy top of the range items instead of buying online. What's the point in online shopping if usps keeps losing my expensive items? Sometimes other people in the park get my packages in their box and they they are honest enough to drop off at our door, but not always. We have lost a lot of mail and this delivery driver has got to be one of the most useless workers who just can't seem to figure out that the details on my mail should match that to what is my mailbox. It's not that hard! I don't want to move just for the sake of getting my mail cause of bad USPS service! Even the staff at the actual store are useless in fixing any issue with lost mail. My mother sent my brother and myself a package from Florida on February 1st. My brother lives in California and received his package Tuesday Feb 5th. On the other hand, I live in Phoenix, Arizona. It is now Wednesday February 13th and my package has been lost in the Phoenix plant since Thursday the 7th. After many headaches and personal time spent that I will never get back, my package is reportedly missing and was "never scanned" at the Phoenix post office even though the tracking information indicates otherwise. WHERE IS MY MAIL? This is just wrong on so many levels and I am supposed to just deal with it? Last month when my mother sent a care package (spending MORE money on priority insured mail that was not honored or guaranteed--no refund) the mail was delayed and opened/partially destroyed with food items missing. I have a very particular diet due to my health conditions and whoever stole my food is an evil person. My mail belongs to me and me only and I feel so violated by the way I've been treated by the USPS, especially Phoenix because this is where the PROBLEM resides. Get rid of your dishonest workers who STEAL from hardworking, American citizens for their own benefit. How much more can we take? But this post office, its attendants, and it's carriers have caused me, my family, and my neighborhood so much grief over the past year. I always looked at post office employees as respectable, reliable people. But because of the gross negligent and disastrous mistakes,their poor apathetic and rude attitudes on every possible experience, that image is tarnished. I see criminals.
