I arrived at 11:50 am and it took me almost 10 min to put the pkg together because the first box was defective, when I went to the counter in front of the young lady all the was to the left side, to mail the box, she told me sorry, I am close! It was ready to mail and I was in front of her and she didn't care at all to take care of it! I was the last one there and it would have taken her maybe 2 min to do it. I couldn't understand her lack of customer service, very disappointed and no one else was there to talk about it! This happened on Saturday October 12 between 11:50 am-12 noon. I think they purposely make your life harder and try every way, shape and form to make it so you can't mail your package. The two ladies in the front were beyond rude. I get it, you hate your job, but please don't take it out on us. There was no in line and had to step out of line 3 times for them to tell them they couldn't mail it because the package has a certain sticker. I asked them if I could purchase this specific item, which you can do at other USPS but as I said these people could care less about your needs. Terrible service and people who work there. read more

This is the quickest and most friendly post office I have ever been to. I was picking something up from a PO Box for a client and the package wasn't there. They were quick to locate via tracking number and get me the package. Someone that works there put it in the wrong P.O. Box which is a big whoops but the guy at the front desk was so nice and quick. I've been to this post office a few times and every time I have a bad experience. I tend to think positive and think that my experience will get better, but it doesn't. A few times I came here, I have pre paid packages that just needed to be sent out and the line would be so long with maybe 2 employees ringing customers up. With maybe 2 employees just standing around. Over 20-30 just to send out one package is ridiculous. The last time I came to send out my old phone to Verizon. Which was also a prepaid package. I already had the envelope and the prepaid tag that wasn't taped on. The last time I came in they taped it on for me with a sleeve.. this time she said you need to tape it on, there's tape over there you can buy. Wow, most post offices will tape your slip on your package without an attitude. Horrible customer service! read more

So after 3 years, they still tried to deliver something to my old address. The current Resident graciously marked it Un Deliverable. SO the PO held it for 4 days and then tried to RE Deliver it to the wrong address. Has been sitting at the PO for 4 days again!!! It's no wonder the post office is going under when you visit branches like this one... Horrible staff who never is available... They move in two speeds, slow and stop. If you can go to any other location I highly suggest it because this one is a waste of your time. Both of the previous reviewers are correct, actually. Yes, there can be a line to the door at times, and not everyone working there is 100% nice 100% of the time. But who is? And, once you get to know them -- and are courageous enough to give them the benefit of the doubt -- everyone working there is very cool to deal with. Because this Post Office is tucked way back in the Foothills, it's not staffed as heavily as I've seen some others. But the remoteness of the location also means you get to breeze in and out on rare occasions too (seeing as this is too far out of the way for any non-Foothills residents). So, do like me: never go here in a hurry; be polite; be patient (it's not all about you). And you'll see this is really no worse than any other Post Office...and maybe even a little bit better. read more

Web site says open until 5:00, but they close at 4:30 and won't talk to you and hide after 4:30. Unprofessional and disappointing. Go ANYWHERE else. read more

Brittani Davis is the BEST!!!! She is an amazing postal worker. Today (Dec 20, 2012) she was working all alone with a long line of people waiting to mail packages. She was smiling, personable and friendly to each and every one there. She never showed any frustration and was attentive to each person. Gayle is a ROCK STAR!!! I went yesterday to ship an awkward shaped item and one other small/easy to ship gift to my niece in Louisiana. Gayle, at the front counter saw me looking around and even though she was helping a customer, she stopped to show me where the boxes I needed were. I really never would have found them. Not only that but she helped me pack the item and even gave me suggestions on other things I have to ship in the future. (I'm a Poshmark minion) She really went above and beyond to help me and was so friendly! It's so nice when employees offer to help you so you don't lose your mind trying to find something they know you need. I hope I have reviewed the correct post office location. I would rate this post office 0 if I could. Colleen A. Is acted extremely inappropriate as she dropped off my mail. Yesterday she went insane because I was checking my mail upon her arival. She immediately starting honking at me and screamed "you're not the only one that needs your mail today". She proceeded to flail her arms around in frustration as I started to leave. When I drove by her vehicle she called me a b****. I contacted the post office and spoke with Richard "floor supervisor" and he said that the "incident" will be "investigated" but she will remain on my route despite her inappropriate behavior. I expressed my fear of her being in my proximity and her accessibility to my mail. This seemed insignificant to him. Great example of what happens with a monopoly and no expectations to have to strive to be better (or even good). I've lived here for 15 years and dread ever having to go here to pick up packages or mail. There have been a few pleasant experiences with employees but the majority (especially Amy) are rude and condescending. One of the issues with the foothills is we don't have an assigned mail carrier - and each mail carrier treats mail differently. Our last one was awesome. This current one, again, does everything possible to not work. If you ever have to call them, no one ever picks up the phone. Last year my mail box key was jammed and had to be rekeyed. They had said it would take 1-4 weeks, depending on when the key people were in their Phoenix rotation. I would have to go every few days to pick up my mail in person. Well, it ended up taking over 3 months beteeen people not putting in work orders and them getting lost. Trying to pick up your mail at this post office is a joke, especially with their hours that no working person could ever make. I am still fairly sure I am missing packages from that time. (Also see above about people not picking up the phone if you ever have to call). I always use ups and FedEx to mail stuff. I sincerely wish I could use another company to receive all regular mail. read more

Although the lady I spoke with on the phone in regards to my lost mail was pleasant and overall friendly, her tone didn't cover up the fact they are incapable of their job,(nothing new after dealing with this post office for nearly three years) and, more concerning, that if the post office staff and/or mail carrier wants to steal your mail, they will. If they think there is something in it they want, they will open it, keep it for themselves, and tell you it was "Dead Mail". It's not a Federal Offense if you can get away with it, right? And what better time then when a forward request is in place so they can be sure to place the blame elsewhere when they are suspected. I put in my forward of address from one apartment to another in the same complex, 2 weeks/10 business days prior to the move, received confirmation said request was processed within a couple of days of submitting, yet wasn't receiving any mail at my new address (and yes, the green card the mail carrier puts in the new box to write down those who will be receiving mail was filled out and returned to the box the same day it was received, and yes, I still get mail that isn't mine despite filling it out and the striking difference in names). Called the post office and was told all my mail was being returned to sender, and she would let the carrier know it was ok to deliver my forwarded mail... Ok, I thought that was the point of submitting the forward and filling out the green card? Fast forward two weeks, some mail is starting to trickle in, I am getting things that were returned that were not forwardable that were then updated and resent to the new address (and other stuff for previous tenants of course), but still missing a personal piece of mail that was neither returned to sender nor forwarded. Super suspicious, but wasn't surprised to learn that not only are they incapable of doing the one job they have, that requires no multi-tasking, they are thieves. How do I get a new post office? In the end, it is my fault for using USPS. Please just close down and stop wasting resources. Thanks! read more

I just picked up a certified parcel from here. Absolutely awful service! There was no one in line and two associates. One guy was helping someone and the old grumpy Asian woman with no name badge on ignored me for a while. Finally she called upon 'the next person in line' without greeting me or even looking up. She clearly hates her job. She got irritated with me because HER pen didn't work and I asked for one that did in order to sign the card necessary for me to receive my parcel. There were signs everywhere requesting customers to ask to speak with a manager if they aren't greeted or treated nicely or offered stamps and so on... what a joke. The manager was the guys standing next to her helping the other customer who clearly doesn't care how awful his associates are to customers. I've been to this post office a few times and my experience is always this way... which is why I rarely give my business to USPS. This post office needs to be shut down. My advice... if you need to go to the post office... stay far away from this one. Life is too short to be treated rudely by disgruntled associates. read more

Not Good-Mail Carrier from 16825 S Desert Foothills Pkwy had my mail returned to the sender ! I have lived here for 16 years and Obviously still receive mail here ! This caused my credit cards to be shut down and could of resulted in a poor credit bureau rating if I luckily did not find out by going into Talbots. Also a package from Qvc was shoved into my mail box instead of a key left for the larger mail receptable and I couldn't get the package out. I went into this branch to get this resolved and the lady behind the counter said that they have some bad mail handlers !!!!! She had me fill out a do not forward card which I hope gets noticed by the mail carrier!!!! read more

Lines are hit and miss. Sometimes insanely long, other times no line at all. Usually only one employee working, and when there is a long line, an employee or manager will come out and ask if anyone is there for pickup, but not actually open up a line or help the customers waiting. Also there is a female employee who is SO rude. I've heard other people in line whispering, "No, No! I don't want to get her!" I try to print postage online as much as possible, but when I have to, I go there only bc they are still cheaper than the other options. read more

Worst post office on the planet. We are snowbirds, like so many Phoenix residents. We have completed forms to have mail forwarded to a temporary address during the time that we are not in Phoenix. Whenever there is a substitute carrier our mail does not get forwarded. Instead, the substitute either 1) leaves mail in the box even though there are several cards stating to forward mail 2) places a yellow sticker stating that the property is vacant and unable to forward 3) places a yellow sticker stating simply "return to sender, unable to forward". I have called and even visited the post office ( on brief returns to the city) complaining about this, but nothing changes. I have no idea how many items I simply have not received, but family members, sending personal mail have made me aware of this. I feel like such a victim, with little recourse. At this point I am considering contacting news media, filing a class action lawsuit if possible, or even standing outside with a protest placard. read more

This postal service just can not get it together, and when you call to complain they say that they know there is a problem and they are working to resolve it by retraining. However, nothing ever gets fixed. They leave mail boxes wide open for people to steal stuff, they leave mail all over the ground, and put mail in the wrong mail boxes because they are to lazy to slow down and READ the name and condo number. This is by far the worst post office I have ever come into contact with. My wife and myself in semi-retirement mode have spent our summers in San Diego for the last 4-years. As one would expect, we arranged for our mail to be forwarded to our San Diego address during this interim period. The post office is zero for four in fulfilling our request. We have gone from our mail box in Phoenix being stuffed to the limit to having all of our pertinent mail returned to sender. This also includes bills that were to have been paid. I've had discussions with 2 of the Station Managers, with each providing their assurances that the problem had been resolved. Neither did. read more

Typically any service at any postal office is less than stellar. The only reason I gave this location 4 stars is because the staff is friendly on Fridays which is the only time I can come. And I usually come early in the morning maybe everyone is excited for the weekend. Service is always fast and efficient. I have no complaints. read more

This office is clueless, for the 4th time in a month my packages got 'misplaced' then they told me I stopped package delivery, really??? What is wrong with this taxpayer supported entity? Spoke with Erica who gave me her direct number due to the many problems and now when I call she doesn't answer the phone. Complaint I made 5/1/2016. "Mis-delivered mail again to my (redacted) address. The letter, a bill, should have been delivered to (redacted address). I have made multiple complaints for the same issue. Putting this one on Yelp - see PECOS_AZ station's Yelp reviews here https://www.yelp.com/biz/us-post-office-phoenix-23. I'll keep Yelping about it each time I get a mis-delivered mail. Another example: new neighbor moved into (redacted address), I got their bill from Macy's. I wrote on the envelope the mail was mis-delivered to (redacted address) and dropped it in a USPS blue box. A couple of weeks later, I got a package key in my mailbox, and when I used the key to open the box containing the package, it was a delivery for (the other (redacted address)) from Macy's. What in the world? Please talk to my letter carrier to find out why he keeps getting it wrong. At this point based on the Macy's story, it is almost as if he is doing it on purpose. In the past I have received checks in the mail mis-delivered, meant for the business owner across the street. Each mis-delivery affects others lives in a negative way, and I simply do not understand how you continue to allow this to happen." read more
