    It's the Post Office. The up sale pressure they put every customer through is ridiculous. Post the price of all the services so a decision can be made when called to the counter.

    Good USPS location, even when it was closed they have a convenient self-service machine that allows you to handle your postal needs independently. It's user-friendly, and as long as you print your labels and package your item at home, the process is smooth. Although the machine didn't have paper for a physical receipt, they offer the option to receive it via email, which is a convenient alternative.

    The counter staff is always very friendly and as efficient as possible. After an 11-day vacation hold, I went to pick up our mail. The counter clerk retrieved my mail and provided me a small stack of a dozen pieces... seemed a little light, even without the loose-leaf ads, but ok... I visited our mailbox today to double check and found it STUFFED with mail, including the USPS vacation hold notice jammed in the middle of everything. What good is a vacation hold if the mail isn't held back??? I have friends and family who are or were with the Postal service. Any time I share my experiences, they're flabbergasted at the lower level of mail service our neighborhood receives.

    I specified this location for a pickup because I couldn't be home for the extended times UPS might…read moredeliver. UPS considers the stores as legitimate pickup locations. However using the Pflugerville Pecan St location will result in some rude treatment from the owner. She and I had an unpleasant conversation about the fact that since I wasn't her "customer", she was entitled to charge me a pickup fee. According to her I had no business in using her store as a pickup location. She mentioned charging me a fee. I happen to know the regulations about shipping and calmly explained that she had no right to limit pickups in the UPS system. She became increasingly rude and angry but finally released the package. She really wanted to be angry and didn't expect dealing with someone knowledgeable about the regulations related to interstate commerce. The regular employees are fine, no issues. However this woman has ensured that that store will not see any of my UPS business that will generate revenue for her.

With that very low expectation set, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the level of smart efficiency I experienced at 10 minutes before closing at this Metric & Braker Lane location on a Saturday afternoon. If you have used this location before, you may know that the window for picking up packages is a closed door placed outside of the "main" customer service counter / store part of the place. A common mistake folks make all the time is coming in to pick up a package, waiting in the long line at the main counter, and only once reaching the front, learning that they were supposed to go stand at that closed door and wait for someone to appear out of nowhere to acknowledge them. Been there, done that myself. On this day, I showed up to retrieve my "requires signature" item and found a line of about 15 customers ahead of me with just a few minutes until closing. I had my doubts about how this situation would end, but the postal worker handled it with professionalism and efficiency, calling us up to give our addresses & show ID, taking down our info, and then going away with a complete list to get all of the packages in bulk. This calmed everyone and assured us that we'd be able to get our stuff before the place closed for the day. One by one, each name was called, even those who had arrived after me, and soon only one person was left without a package - me. Turns out, my mail carrier had picked up my item and had it out with her for another delivery attempt, even though the order was specifically set to be held at the post office. Argh! Foiled again!
