I admit I missed the old library for a while (ah, nostalgia), but the new one is really an incredible place and a wonderful asset to the community. The staff are friendly and helpful. My purchase suggestions are almost always requested. I have to pay for the paid membership since I'm outside city limits, which is a bit of a bummer, but I'm happy to support the library. The benefits I get far outweigh the cost.

The Georgetown library is a wonderful place to be. Getting a library card is easy. You just need to…read moreshow your identification and proof of residency. The card is free. You can check out books or music. There's a lot of places to sit in here and I see people sitting and enjoying each other's company. Some people are studying on their laptop. They have a wonderful sweet lemon kitchen area to get some food and drink drinks. The people who work here are very kind and helpful. You can check out the availability of your book online and reserve it, and they will put it in a special place for you. However, I love going through and just looking through the books and finding my book myself . There's something special about a book! When the book is due to be returned, they generously text you and ask if they can extend the rental, the avoiding charges for forgetting to return a book! There are events that are held at the library, such as concerts and other gatherings. They are posted in the front of the library. You should go look at them. This has become my new regular place. I am now reading a book series and it's so nice that I don't have to buy the book. I just read a book and I bring it back and I get the next one and in the meantime I'm certain to make a new friend! They have a children's section that just looks amazing. They even have a Jeep in there for the children to play! It is modified to be completely safe. There's no risk here. They have an elevator so you don't have to take the stairs to the second floor if you don't want to. When I was there, they were having a sculpture sale and it was just beautiful sculptures all over the library just wonderful. I highly recommend this library.

The Pflugerville community library is so perfect for children and adults alike! WiFi is fast, plenty of tables and chairs for you to read or work, and the staff are super kind! I had to print a few documents today and all I had to do was email it to an address and they printed it quickly for me for 10 cents a sheet in black and white. Super easy and convenient since I was already there! Unfortunately they don't have a licensed notary onsite but the UPS is close nearby that also offers this service. There are meeting rooms you can use. There are games on the shelves that you can play. They offer classes on a variety of subjects! I saw one on bicycle maintenance! They even have a 3D printer you can send them a file for and they will print it! There is the cutest cafe and a gift shop! The best part of all is the rooftop patio! You can grab that coffee, grab a book and hang out and take in the gorgeous views of the lake! I love it and can't wait to go back!

Manor library is a small community based library that runs off volunteers. They have, for a few…read moremonths now, some new volunteers who have really stepped up to the plate. The place is looking nice, more organized, cleaner, and they are adding many kid friendly activities for children of all ages, something they never had before. They are constantly adding new books and already have a good amount of children's books! They have added a Summer Reading Program which gives kids a chance to win a tour of the Manor Fire Department, The Manor Police Department, or the Power Plant (for 4th graders and up) by completing a reading log that requires only 5 books to be read. Kids can win certificates, and in the near future there will be a prize box. They have free printed coloring sheets and crayons, free book marks, a variety of word searches, mazes, and other games kids can choose from. I can see this library doing great things in the near future and hope more people, willing to help out, will volunteer as well to make it even better! This makes the 4th one we have been to, Spicewood, Central, and Yarborough Branch have been previously visited. We want to see the differences and support the local library. This one had a larger outdoor area then most and even had a table and chairs outside to sit and read, not something we have seen anywhere but the central library. It also has some trails with art along it, as well as some interesting but creepy statues. A nice difference that makes it stand out. Inside they make full use of the space, they have a large kids area in the back and it seems very popular. Lots of Adult book clubs and activities as well as youth and children's events. It had one of the bigger collections of DVD's and Blu Rays for rent we have seen at any branch. It does have less computers for the public with only 6 or 7 but to be fair this is the first branch where they were not all full or close to full. In fact while we were there I think I saw one person using them. So it makes sense they focus on other things to match the area they are in. They have display caps with special displays like the picks of the people who work there, which is a nice touch. SHANA SAYS: I was impressed with the huge DVD and Blu Ray collection and I am not even a movie person, ask my husband as long as you have time to listen to him talk about it for awhile. The art outside was great, the fun artwork along the paths was unique and cool addition to this branch. They had some larger artwork in statues of some kind. I didn't get a great look due to looking at other things. This is extra nice all being outside for some fresh air and sunshine. They also have a large amount of adult and kids workshops and things to do! The bathroom was clean and they have a recycled reads area and a clearly marked hold area. They have board games you can rent and several other smaller touches that all add up. There was a cool display of cards that had a legal statement about how they don't wish to talk to you or give you consent in many many languages which was both awesome to see but sad we have gotten to that point. This location is not far, the closest one besides Spicewood Springs so we will be back to check it out more

We found some books that looked interesting and I picked up one I have been wanting to read for awhile. We found out they have a adopt a bookmark where they collect bookmarks left by people over the years and you can pick one out to take home! Very cool, we also got a bookmark from their 40th year celebration last year that we did not pick up last year. The place is always clean, the staff is always great and super friendly. They always have something going on from Open Mic to writing classes. The adopt a bookmark is great.

I came bumbling in trying to renew my library card, being befuddled as to why my name wasn't even on record... Thankfully, the librarian helping me was gracious and kindly explained the issue after a solid 5 - 10 fruitless minutes of searching. At the end of the day, I walked out with a new library card specific to this lovely outpost, and a better appreciation for all these people do. There are TONS of free events hosted all year round here, particularly arts and crafts geared towards kids. It's perfect when you want them to make some cute holiday gifts or decor, or just get a break when it's too hot to play outside. Of course, there are no age limits and no one judging here, so I've availed myself of the acrylic paints on more than one occasion, too.
