I work from home and when I come to visit my aunt and need to get away I am so incredibly grateful for this little haven. The Pflugerville community library is so perfect for children and adults alike! WiFi is fast, plenty of tables and chairs for you to read or work, and the staff are super kind! I had to print a few documents today and all I had to do was email it to an address and they printed it quickly for me for 10 cents a sheet in black and white. Super easy and convenient since I was already there! Unfortunately they don't have a licensed notary onsite but the UPS is close nearby that also offers this service. Highly recommend you stop in and say hello if you're in the area and want to support your local library!! read more

So the other day i went to the library for my daily studious activities and they told me i was banned for life and the reason they said was cause of a prior situation they had in the morning i don't even come to this library in the morning so i asked them for the pictures they had of me doing this supposed situation they told me i was gonna get arrested if I didn't leave immediately they refused to show me the pictures I'm not a karen but when you accuse me of something and ban me i will stand my ground i think they were racially profiling me i feel offended ,hurt , disrespected, they told me i can never come back til this day i don't even know what they accused me of who bans people from a public library for just walking in. Very rude employees ! Also i seen a group of teenagers smoking next to the library and they said one of the workers gave them permission? This library need to be investigated?!!! read more

This is a good library for kids which is primarily how I use it. My kids like coming here. I just wish they had more copies of books to include their digital library. There's been a few times my kids have come here for newer books and there's only 2 copies for the whole library. However I do like the kids section of the library. My kids are able to get in and out especially using the self check out computer where they can scan the barcodes on their books and check out. I like that you can reserve books and pick them up when they're ready. There's also a drop book box outside of the library. First impression was good. I attended for a Baby Time class on Wednesday. The facilitator was great. Kept the 30 minute class moving through different interactive books and songs. Downsides are that the class starts exactly when the library opens so parents are waiting outside and can't use bathroom or changing table before the class starts. Also the facilitator mentioned the class was for older babies, but the class description does not mention that. Outside the class, it's a cute little library and appears to be clean and well kept. The library does a fantastic job of organizing community events! They have events for all ages throughout the week. Both the kids section and teen section is really well built out and they even have story time on the weekends. It's a really great place for families to stop by on the weekend. I am hoping that the library will grow as Pflugerville grows. read more

I prefer this library over any others I have been too. It is smaller than Austin and round rock one, but it's much friendlier and compact. Staff is always friendly and very helpful. We usually come here for kids and craft events, they have wide variety of kids books. read more

Before the pandemic, I loved taking Zoe to storytime & baby time at the library. It was a great opportunity for her to engage with her peers, sing songs, play and hear great stories read to us by the librarians. Unfortunately, we've had to put all of that on hold for now, but this library hasn't missed a beat! Though the building isn't open to the public, you can still checkout books online and pick them up curbside. Best of all, they still have storytime for the little ones-- it's now online! The librarians sing fun songs & read wonderful stories; they even have storytime craft kits available for curbside pick up at the beginning of each month (while supplies last). read more

I came here for the annual Library Con. I wasn't sure what to expect as sometimes these shows can be underwhelming but this library did a very good job of organizing with a good mix of cosplay, comics, artists, and other tables. There was a nice turnout, especially in the early hours of the convention. Parking was pretty easy and the library itself seems to have a nice selection of books, especially as I walked through the manga and kids section. I'll have to go back and explore further. read more

Welcomes well-behaved dogs. Has an outdoor area. Adjacent to Pflugerville High School, skateboarders are often on the grounds stunting at the stairs. As well, it makes for a meeting place for kids to smoke weed and loiter. Entry bathrooms behind the front desk wall don't have doors, which is a bit weird if it gets a little explosive in there. Makes me feel sorry for the front desk person. Bathroom cleanliness is hit or miss. There are no study rooms for isolation and quiet should you need to take a test or focus (such as might be needed if one has a learning disability). Was told as a public library (as opposed to an academic library) it is "not a shushing library" and as such, it is perfectly acceptable for patrons to carry conversations at normal voice level and take phone calls. Overall noise levels are often between quiet and relaxing to restaurant level. There are numerous learning events that are promoted. It is a decent community library, and I prefer it to even the new Round Rock Public Library, yet I still find it lacking. read more

Got a Library card, just to use Lynda.com for free! This is a online video training site that normally costs $25/month. It has training videos for all things tech like web design, coding, photography, video editing and CAD. It also has general business training for Project Management, public speaking and marketing. These are high quality training videos! My company was already paying for Lynda.com for me to use for my consulting work, now we all get to use it for free, for living in the city of Pflugerville or working for the city. This is a great benefit that everyone. We all should be keeping our skill set sharp. Technology changes all the time. Lynda.com makes learning a new tool easy! Life is a life long journey and we should all be retraining and re-educating ourselves. Formal education training is expensive, but this is a free training too that our city has decided to invest in. This is one of the best values I have seen in a while! read more

Libraries have a soft spot in my heart as it is, but this one is really special. Here are some of my favorite aspects, in no particular order: 1) Free, fast wi-fi (great place to work, with lots of comfy chairs, tables, etc.) 2) Gorgeous outdoor space with a beautiful fountain 3) Cool brand spankin' new areas for teens, tweens and young kiddos 4) A 3-D printer! I haven't tried this yet, but it's on my to-do list! 5) A staff that actually listens to your suggestions and is willing to help you out. I'm a new author (Budget Travel for the Genius, 2015), and the adult services staff has been so generous and gracious in supporting me in helping to get the word out about my book. Big thank you to Bette McDowell! 6) Programming that is actually really cool and interesting! From robots to dinosaurs to how to make your own bath products and dog collars, it all seems so cool. I love this library but lately one lady seems to have it out for my 3 kids. My kids aren't loud or run around like nuts cuz we will leave, so i don't know her deal. 1st incident she seemed to think my kids wanted extra vouchers until i told her we were in line waiting to take pics. 2nd we didn't get in ti an event cuz we didnt have tokens and tells my kids "should have been here early" We arrived 1 hour before!! During school I would come here to study and do my homework. I would work next to the computers. And at the computers were a bunch of kids playing games at the library. They were being loud and obvious. I didn't know where else to sit. They would always come to play video games. Even during summer when I came to the library last week. And this time I heard they were cursing out loud. I come here to mostly print and this library is near where I live. I don't care if they are playing games but when they are being loud while I'm trying to do my work is very disrupting. Other than that this is my #1 library to go to print all my stuff for low price. read more

Nice, clean, new library. The children's book section is full of new books to enjoy. It's spacious. It's quiet and provides great resources and activities for learning. The fact that there is a 3D printer and craft supplies is an added bonus. Thanks! I can't believe I went so long without a library card. Did you know they have a section with cookbooks? And if you're a resident of Pflugerville, they'll let you take these wonderful books home with you - without charging you?!? I know, I know. This is how all libraries work. I'm just still in such awe. I honestly pull out my credit card every time I go to check out books, because it just seems like I should have to pay them. I went in to this library about 6 weeks ago to start an account so my little sister could borrow some books to read to her 2nd grade classroom. The gentleman that set up my account went on and on about all of the library's features and benefits. There were so many!! There are digital books you can check out at home (which is what I plan on doing after I finish this review), a 3-D printer (not really sure why, but hey, sounds cool!), a teen-only section, a huge kid's section with plenty of areas to sit down and read, DVDs, books on tape, tons of classes, free meeting spaces for non-profits ... and that's just the things I can remember off the top of my head. Everyone has been super nice and friendly to me. I did happen to overhear one clerk talking to an elderly lady that was checking out a book on Jimmy Carter say "Did you hear he's sick. He's about to die. I guess it's a good time to read this book." and that seemed off, but in more of a lacking some social graces way than in a trying to be mean way. Minus that incident, everyone has been nothing but helpful and encouraging. There is always an abundance of staff that has seemed eager and ready to help. The building itself is gorgeous and has a ton of seating areas, including a courtyard. Word to the wise, the entrance is on Pfluger. On our first trip, the sister and I parked in the lot near the Pecan Street Station - and walked for a while to find the front door. read more

Wow! Why haven't I checked them out before?? Wonderfully modern library. Today was my first visit and we went for story time. Found out they have activities almost daily for kiddos in the summer. Walked around afterwards and was very impressed. Children's area is very nice and has children's tables all around. Bonus: family bathroom in the children's area. Very high tech throughout! They have a "tech bar" to hook your electronics up to. Tables that have built in electrical outlets but the cool part is they are 'built in' meaning they are flush with the table or you can push down and they rise up from the table. Saw a really cool hang out spot for Teenagers. read more

This could be a great library, but it's not. Hordes of uncontrolled kids and noisy patrons make just going here and reading or working on your computer impossible. Be prepared to be asked to move from your spot numerous times to accommodate staff meetings and other events. This is not a library, it's a day care and social gathering spot. We had come to this library a few years ago and it's children's programs just didn't seem that great so we had been going to the Round Rock Library (which we had to pay for since we are not RR residents). We just tried out the PF Library again and it looks as though they have renovated. It's very nice inside and has a great kids area. We are participating in he summer reading program and a few other summer programs. The best part? They don't charge you late fees...unless you are like 90 days overdue. read more

A huge, beautiful library with helpful, courteous employees eager to help you. This was my 1st visit to this library. I was sent there from Hutto library because the book I needed wasn't available. It's tucked away from the main street so it's a hidden gem. The children's section is massive. Throughout the library you will find tables with outlets for your laptops/ phones and private seating areas throughout the library. Your visit to this library will be a great one. Let's face it. Pville is pretty small and there really isn't much to do here but that's okay because we have places like this one! I love this library. I used to come here all the time before it got upgraded and I come here all the time after. It's so perfect. Not only are the librarians super helpful, they're so excited to be there! There's a large selection of books, large print books, CD's, DVD's and much more. Apart from that, there's a bunch of different parts to the place which cater to different age groups and for various needs (computer access, study rooms, reading spaces, activity rooms, 3-D printing, etc.). This library is truly the heart of the community. Love the displays and how peaceful it is here! read more

Beautiful library and friendly desk staff. I gave 3 starts for their horrendous baby time! Please don't waste your time taking your little one! I actually contracted the library about the train wreck of our experience and they gave the most generic response. The same woman has been doing story time for some years, apparently, and it doesn't seem she likes families much! She also did not sign along to songs (played a recording) and didn't like the babies playing about .. ya know, what babies do ?! 5 start for library itself, 1 star for baby time! read more

I am in the Pflugerville library a couple of times a week checking out DVD's. They have a pretty good collection and I can borrow them for free!! There is lots of space and special areas for Teens, Kids and Adults. I love the online resources too: Digital music downloads, Chilton manuals and E-Book sites. read more

Beautiful, modern library with tons of room and lots of parking. It's off a side street behind Pecan Street Station, so I never would have known it was there if not for Google maps. If you have a Pflugerville address, the library card is free, but they do charge for a library card if you live outside Pflugerville. Awesomeness: 1. Huge, spacious layout. 2. Free wi-fi, as well as some computers you can use. 3. Great young adults section!! (I refuse to read my age) 4. Lots of places to sit comfortably and read. 5. You can check out books at computer kiosks that just scan your book & library card, so you don't have to go stand in line at the desk. 6. Drop off box outside to check your books back in. 7. Can browse book catalog & place books on hold online from home. 8. Part of the Central Texas Digital Library group on Overdrive -- basically a massive ebooks account shared by lots of smaller Texas libraries, so you have more to choose from if you want ebooks you can read on Kindle, Bluefire, or just PDF on your computer at home. 9. Lots and lots of programs and events from movies to crafts to whatever else -- for adults and kids! 10. Super-helpful and friendly staff. I hadn't been in a library since the early '90s, and they walked me through everything, showed me step-by-step how to use the Overdrive account, and told me all about the different programs they host. read more
