I'm in my driveway and along comes the postal truck. They drop off the mail and when I go to pick it up there is a pink note left behind for something I ordered that requires a signature. The note says "sorry we missed you while you're out." I am literally standing in my driveway for Gods sake and the carrier isn't making the slightest effort to have me sign for it. Does t even look my way to see if someone is home. Off he goes with my package in his truck. Lazy, inconsiderate and hopeless with anything that requires more than looking straight ahead and trying to get home as fast as possible. No stars here.

Hill of unsupervised pre-paid parcels. Anyone want a free package? Help yourself, lord knows USPS doesn't care if you do...

The Ojai Valley Post Office (only Post Office in the town) is currently not issuing drop off receipts for pre-paid insured shipping label customers due to covid. Instead, they are making customers leave all pre-paid packages behind the Post Office building at the shipping dock, (no employees around to oversee the packages, and no cameras), where they sit unsupervised for hours at a time. I've recently 2 lost parcels in the last month (I'm assuming stolen off the back of their porch), and USPS personnel at that branch couldn't care less. I've been using USPS to ship for my business for years, and never had 2 parcels go missing within such short dates with no information updated on the tracking service. So today, I decided to try my luck again. I waited in line today and asked a lady nicely at the counter (Julie) for a drop-off receipt. I was berated for "walking past the signs" and it was insinuated that "I didn't know how to read", and she still refused. The only way I was able to get her to scan them in at the counter (and she STILL wasn't willing to give me a receipt for some reason) was by threatening to void all my pre-paid labels and have them re-make all labels for all my parcels right then and there, since their "leave it out back unsupervised" policy only applies to Prepaid labels. All other services are still offered at the counter.  Seems like they are refusing to issue drop off receipts just to be petty. I mean, the lady in front of me literally just bought a roll of packing tape, and they didn't have a problem with that whatsoever...

I've had good service at this post office. Though sometimes there is a wait, it's usually shorter than my favorite post office (in Thousand Oaks). Parking can be a bit difficult to find, which is the biggest drawback here. There are a few 20 minute spots nearby, and those are the best, if you can snag one.

Probably the coolest building in the county. I've always had good service inside too.

I had a terrible experience with Alpha Marine, Inc…read more - Alpha Marine, Inc. was supposed to handle the custom clearance and delivery of goods. However, once the goods were on hand, they refused to return them to me unless I paid unexpected, unusually high inflated "fees," amounting to over two thousand dollars. If you don't pay the amount of money they ask for, they won't arrange the delivery for you, literally holding your items hostage. Then, you will face unknown storage expenses and other unknown costs which are completely decided on their own. - They don't tell you any details on expenses. The two that were in contact with me were Karen and Jerry. The most problematic thing is, if you don't agree to their price, they don't arrange the delivery and you won't get your belongings back. When they get their money, they disappear. They stop replying to your emails and requests. Even if you tell them it is illegal not to give the customers the details of their expenses (laws against deceptive invoicing,) they say it is the policy of their company to do so no matter what law it is. I strongly advise against using this company for the custom clearance and delivery of goods or similar services as it could be a costly mistake. They have no shame, no honesty, nor transparency, basically a trap to rob you of your time and money. If you decide to use Alpha Marine, I suggest that you are prepared for outrageous happenings and ridiculous fees. If I could, I would give them a negative rating. The very thought that these companies still exist on American soil is shameful. Update: Seeing your reply, I don't think you're improving my respect for your company. In fact, I had no idea that you can stoop low enough to lie so blatantly out in public. Not mentioning law, at least have morality. If you have something to tell me, the first thing you should be telling me what was in the contents of the full invoice, not desperately defending yourselves with lies.

Alpha Marine failed at every step to provide basic communication about receiving the container, and Karen was actively rude. Alpha Marine consistently requested documents at the last minute. I was never provided with a list of what I needed to provide, but I did get multiple "emergency" requests for what are clearly a standard set of documents -- why not just tell me what they needed from the start? Alpha Marine failed to schedule the delivery correctly (they had 2+ months to plan) and then penalized me for their poor management. The day before scheduled delivery, I was presented with an invoice for storage. They charged me extra fees (over and above what the port would have charged) because they didn't have a delivery team available for several days, which is a business decision they took with out informing or discussing with me about any extra fees. When I asked for an explanation about the sequence of events that caused the delay (a delay that was no fault of mine), Karen became angry on the phone, would not explain, and threatened to hold my shipment hostage unless I paid their extortionate invoice. Unbelievable. If I could give them zero stars I would.

I just really love and adore Ojai. The city is charming and so are the stores. Shopping is plentiful and they have great unique stores in this town. From clothing, to art, home goods and mystical finds - there is something for everyone. The stores vary, some are reasonably priced and some more expensive to reflect the higher end vacationers but that's any city for the most part. I love the restaurant scene here as it's growing and they've got some pretty wonderful restaurants and bakery's in this town. If you like beer they've got Topa Topa and for wine there are many many options. Some of my personal favs are Ojai Roots and the Ojai Wine Company. If you aren't here to shop or dine, this is an active community with beautiful hiking and recreation areas. Plenty of places to have a more rigorous hike or simple shaded areas and parks in the town that are kid friendly. Ojai is known for its sound baths, day spas, and meditation mountain. There is really so much to do here and see for a long weekend. I get why so many people come here, it's a magical little town away from the big cities with beautiful nature and weather. I'm happy that this town is accessible to me from where I live and I love bringing people here for the day.

A nice little cleanse from the chaos that the city has. The drive along the countryside is quite beautiful depending on which way you come. Or else, a straight shot off the 101 that also gets you here. There's loads of amazing places to stay here. You have in my opinion one of the best hotels here, Ojai Valley Inn. It's a bit pricey compared to others but it a nice vacation spot. If golfing is your thing, this spot is perfect. Nice restaurant as well as a beautiful property for having a drink while catching the pink moment. IYKYK... This is a full on luxury experience while there's also loads of smaller boutique hotels throughout the town. They're all pretty close to each other. If you're looking for a place that can hold a bigger group, there's Airbnb as well. Beautiful properties in the community. Besides hiking and wine tasting outside the town area, which they have more tasting rooms. You have the main square where Libby Park is. It's right in the heart of town which has a nice playground for the kids as well as a tennis court and amphitheater. It's quite big which is also nice for a stroll or a cute picnic moment. Of course, the main strip has all the shopping and dining. There's plenty of vintage shopping but they tend to be at the entrance versus right in the middle of town. I love all the home decor boutique with their amazing pieces. A few that I tend to always visit, Fig Curated Living with their fun secret garden vibe with amazing home goods for both indoor and outdoor living. Tala Design and Cercana with their beautiful pieces for the home. Amazing glassware, home decor, linens, candles and everything in between. There's something for you when you walk through. Also food wise, I know I maybe a creature of habit as I like to go back to places I've been before. Why go somewhere else when you like something. There's loads of amazing restaurants both in town and out. In town tends to be a bit more busy as it's a tourist mecca. You have more restaurants a little off the main strips that's perfect for a nice romantic meal. We tend to stay in town walking around if we're not on the hotel properties. The Nest of Ojai and Ojai Rotie are both quite nice. Their foods always nice but you have to order at the counter and then seat yourself. It does get busy so a wait may happen. We finally tried a Mexican place that been here for so long but we've never been. Well, it was quite nice. A nice big outdoor covered patios with umbrella. Their menu seemed to have a bit of everything. Mexican to elsewhere which was nice. The ahi tuna which we had was great as well as the aquachile. Perfect for a hot day and washed it off with some nice margaritas. There's a few places that I loved but noticed that they're no longer opened. That's a bummer. There's so many places for food along the main strip that's perfect for a nice bite, family friendly and pet friendly. You can't visit Ojai without some wine tasting. Two we loved are Majestic Oak Vineyard which has a tasting room along the strip. It's downstairs and has a nice covered garden feel. Then there's the Ojai Vineyard which is around the corner off one of the side street. That's a nice tasting room with indoor and outdoor seating. Both tasting room has amazing wines from surrounding vineyard. Both their reds are quite nice if that's your preference. And this visit, we experienced a new brewery and tasting room. Ojai Valley Brewery and Side Street Wine. It's just a little off the main strip but a gem of a find. They served both wine and beer which is quite nice. A nice big patio area which we visited happened to have a live band and a seafood food vendor on deck. The beer on draft were amazing and so needed when it was hot. The whole place was a vibe, there was also a pool table that was near the bar area. A must whenever you're here. And on Sunday, they have an amazing farmers market with loads of organic produce. Unique vendors with goods, homemade items, fresh flowers and so on. A nice bakery that always sells out pretty fast so get there early. Everything is always fresh and straight from the farm to your table. This place is a major gem that needs to be visited. Even if it's a day trip or a weekend getaway. There's always something you're find yourself wanting to see and.
