Nice location and good sized Post Office........but it's still the Post Office. I work a reasonable distance from here, so there are times for convenience only, I come here during my lunch hours to handle my mail business. The place is pretty sizable inside - good for the weird customers who often wander around aimlessly. Depending on the time or day you come, there could be a line and at times, the line can be very slow moving. The workers are a little more animated than other Postal workers, so mostly it's the customers who either ask the dumbest questions or decide to handle a year's worth of their Post Office needs in one sitting that causes the lines to move slow. It's a hit or a miss really, because there have been times I walk right in and wait under a minute for help. Other times, you could be on line for over a half hour. Most of the employees here are friendly and efficient, but there are some who look like they're about to go postal. They love trying to get customers to use the self serve machine, but it's not my cup of tea though easy. It's debit only and will work for most small packages. Since there are always lines, how about more than 2 workers at the counter instead? When an inept uses the self serve machine, they can be there for a lot longer than the whole line wait time is. There is a decent assortment of forms and free boxes available for customers. The form area can sometimes lack what you need or just be a mess in general (customer's can be selfish slobs here). Those free flat rate boxes are always stocked well. There is no parking lot for customers (the one behind the building is for their employees or trucks), so you need to try your luck on the street. On the right side of the building, there are time limit spots (Huguenot Street) otherwise be prepared to pay the meters on the other surrounding blocks. Really, in all honesty, I've mailed out packages from this Post Office and other locations quite frequently - I'm not sure what it is, but the packages from this branch always seem to be sorted and out of this location must faster than anywhere else. All in all, I prefer this location to the ones near me and this really isn't a bad Post Office. read more

There is a thief or thieves in this post office! They have taken many of my birthday cards and just yesterday I received an empty envelope so they stole the money and card. I have contacted this horrific place in the years past and was given an agent, however, nothing was ever done to correct this issue. Its a federal offense to steal mail. Perhaps they don't care and want to go to jail. I hope that person doing this gets what is coming to them and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, the FBI, the mayor and the news! Horrible place...I moved to one of the new bldg and our mail is supposed to be going there ..I haven't received any mail since moving in October 2024. I would have given this place less than a one star if I could. It is about the people. We are their customers, but the young person behind the counter, Kate or Kay, is treating everyone like peons that bringing problems to her. If those people do not like to service others, they should leave their jobs to find something else to do. Terrible establishment. Employees seem annoyed if you have valid questions about postage options. They're always trying to rush you. They're rude to customers, although I also see many customers rude to the employees. Just a very disorganized place. One employee I saw asked a customer "did you even wait in line?" even though I saw he did. Wow. It's a very odd and uncomfortable place to be in. Lines are always long and they never have enough staff to maintain it. If this wasn't the only USPS by me, I would never set foot in it again. Oh well. Tis life. read more

The two senior black women are courteous, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They've kept the post office operating smoothly for decades! i was in new rochelle with time to spare so while walking around i notice the big post office on the corner and i do need a roll of forever stamps. ok i notice all the bad reviews but personally i had a uneventful 3 star visit. place is large , clean , organized , mailing supplies and form are in good supply and most important line is not long . oh yeah i could have gone the self service route via the kiosk thats credit/debit card only but i wanted to see for my self how the window clerk will behave. ok my final result is in , clerk does not smile or look happy to be a postal clerk and i got a low energy hi and goodbye , which overall is just fine and dandy with me .got my forever stamps which seems to get more expensive by the hour and now its time to bounce before my yelp rating starts to lose a star (just kidding ). a serves its purpose post office in new rochelle. read more

This post office is extremely large but very unorganized. They lost 2 of our gifts during the holidays and had no explanation. The workers seem lazy and not willing to go the extra mile to help you . The manager is helpful and seems to want to help which is why I gave them 2 stars ! read more

I'd seen this post office's bad reviews, but I never fully experienced just how horrible this place was until recently. That's twice now that you people have lost my rent check. Last month's disappeared completely after being sent via regular mail, and still hasn't turned up to this day. This month I sent a certified bank check via Priority Mail, and somehow it got lost on its way to a P.O. box in the exact same facility. Thanks to you, I now have a very angry landlord and missing funds that I am now scrambling to get back. At least I have family members around to help me out in the meantime, and my bank can offer excellent customer service and is trying to help get the money back as quickly as possible. I am switching to UPS now for mailing my rent checks, and if I can avoid using this place altogether from now on I absolutely will. New Rochelle, instead of spending city money on flashy new apartments how about you use it to fix this post office and hire better workers!!!! This is not the first time this has happened. I get there before 8 am. They don't open up until almost 8:10 am. Today the guy tries opening the door, having a hard time. The keys. He opens the door where it was the end of the line. So those people went first. Then there is 1 postmaster attending to the line of 8-10 people. Really? They never answer the phone! Unable to make an appointment for my daughter passport. EVERY SINGLE day they have one spot ONLY at 1:30...obviously they(employees blocked the schedule from the computer system)to make it impossible to get late appointments such as 4:00 or4:30pm. read more

Unfortunately, for local residents, the New Rochelle P.O. has horrible customer service. The line is often long due to the fact that one employee only is at the main desk. The self-service machine is often out of service so you're stuck. Even when you get to the head of the line, employees are stiff and barely answer a question. Worst U.S.PO I've ever been to. It's a shame because it's convenient to walk to from Main Street. It is a large facility and has a beautiful colonial mural painting above the main desk. It is inefficient use of personnel and space. Went to mail a package today in New Rochelle North ave PO. Self serve machine not taking the package weight. Waited 15 min till someone came over to help me. I recognized the man (no name tag) as the former Manager/Postmaster. He opened machine, rebooted it, locked it back up and walked away without making sure scale worked. I tried again and scale not working. I saw him walking back to his office and said "please help me it still doesn't work" and he just kept walking. I spent over 30 minutes, got absolutely no where and left frustrated. What attitude! This Post office unfortunately is know for that. 1 star because its accesable from my place! But the service is too bad! I went here to check my package around 12:30PM. Scenario: 2guys and 1 lady on the front counting some money (maybe a cash pick-up to close someone's shift) 1 of the guy went to the other table holding the money, and same thing with the lady. I'm standing on the front for 5 mins and they even know that I was there that needs some help. Until 2 more customers arrive and said "can i help you?" I can't believe that I am writing a review for a post office but this PO has to be THE worst in New York State. If I could give a negative star review, I would .. But I can't so one star will have to suffice. The wait is 30 mins minimum regardless of when you go. They frequently have 1 or 2 people working and they are slow as molasses. They are also unfriendly and unwelcoming as if you are interrupting their day by being there. At 430PM on a Friday, they close all registers for 15 mins... With no excuses. When I ask to speak to the supervisor, he is equally rude, useless and and walks away as he is addressing your complaints. I witnessed this tactic with 4 other people. That way he cuts the conversation really short and people just get fed up and walk away. SMH Shame on me if I ever set foot in that place again. I've been there 3 times. This is the absolute worst post office. I went to use their self-serve postal system to mail an item to a family member in Florida. Unfortunately, they didn't have the correct envelope, so I used a different envelope and crossed out the word "express". I paid a flat rate envelope fee. My family member received a door tag indicating a balance due. I called USPS to discuss the issue. I never received a return phone call. Fortunately, when my uncle picked up the item and explained the circumstances, the postal location was kind enough to waive the fee. Fast forward a day, I received a call from an extremely rude manager at this postal location. She began the conversation by telling me the item was delivered. I explained to her that that was out of the kindness of the Florida postal location. She decided to argue with me for the remainder of the call, and hang up on me. If you need to go to a post office, go to the location in the north end of New Rochelle or Pelham. It's terribly sad what happened to this location. read more

USPS is an awful shipping company I was supposed to receive my package on a Friday, however it did not come. When I checked my status it changed and said that it will ship the next business day. Monday came and went and still no package. I called customer service and was on hold for all together 2 hrs. I am very disappointed and will never order through USPS again. read more

So I am tracking a package to a business address-the business is still open, and tracking says the package was delivered left at the door (again of an open business). So now I'm thinking the package may have been stolen. Lo and behold, the next day the package is delivered by a postal employee-I call the office for an explanation "we have a lot of new people" was the reason for marking a package as delivered, then delivering it the next day-not good enough. "New employees" is not an excuse-they should be the best example of your team, not a reason why things aren't done properly. Every time I purchase an item from Amazon and it is supposed to be delivered in two days, the package never makes it in two days. There is a bogus "Delivery attempted" message on Amazon. Delivery was never attempted. I should be glad that my package eventually makes it to my home and not thrown into the dumpster. read more

This. Post. Office. Is. THE. WORST. I honestly wish I could give zero stars. Mail comes 10am one day and 5pm the next but I can deal with that. The real problem with this office is their package delivery. It doesn't matter whether it's a 2 day priority envelope, amazon prime or other retailer shipment- it is never delivered on the guaranteed day. Tracking status will say "out for delivery" on the day it is SUPPOSED to be delivered until 8pm then it will change to "delivery date unknown." That said - I guess that's better than the other thing they're known for - scanning your next day or priority mail envelope as delivered but it not actually being delivered or being misdelivered. After opening up an inquiry, it mysteriously shows up at your door 2 days later. Why pay extra for guaranteed delivery when the staff here just delivers it at will anyway? I thought it was just me but apparently this happens often. So often in fact that Rep Engel encourages new Rochelle residents to call him if we have any issues with this post office. Smart...considering the undelivered mail that was discovered in a dumpster behind the office last year. I receive a lot of packages and paperwork in the mail from clients so it is extremely frustrating esp when I change my schedule to be home for a delivery. I almost canceled my prime membership because the 2 day shipping is the only reason I pay for it but I have yet to receive a prime package on time even though it's in their possession. The reason they gave amazon was "they had too many packages to deliver." I'm going to start using fed ex and UPS exclusively because clearly this location doesn't care whether you get your packages or not. The extra fees will be worth it. I live in the Bronx and work in New Rochelle Downtown, so I often had to visit both post offices. Yes, it is a horrible nightmare going to that post office. There is a clerk name Chandra, he likes to yell at customers, very rude. Also the supervisor. The other clerks make customers wait for long time. Also they do not deliver the packages. I am at home all day waiting for a package and nothing. The New Rochelle post office has to be the worst in the United States. Never get a package delivered to your home that requires a signature. Even if you sign and ask for re delivery, you will never get your package. Tomorrow I will spend another 40 minutes on line at the post office trying to pick up a package that was supposed to be redelivered two weeks ago. Two days ago I was on line 30 minutes and left fearing my meter ran out. The package is medication. So sad. So frustrating. read more

This is the epitome of a horrible work place. Mail didn't get delivered yesterday and was told they had a delayed shipment but would be delivered..Never came for my entire building...Next day same problem so I spoke with the same manager who said I would def get it yesterday telling me the same fairy tale I'm getting it today. No mail as of 7:30..Called back and the guy hung up on me while I was holding..Then I said why did you hang up and he lashed out don't accuse me of hanging up on you(but he did?)
