We attempted to deliver a package earlier in a day at the post office in Sanford, but it was jam-packed. Since we were on our way to the Mount Dora area we decided we would seek out a post office on the way to Eustis. This post office happens to be in the same lot as Treasure Marts, one of the thrift stores we wanted to shop at while in the area, so this worked out perfectly. The staff here were very friendly, service was fast, and we were in and out in no time at all. Pricing is was fair, shipping from here to Melbourne, FL, was about $10 for a 2 lb. Box. After several poor experiences, it happened again on June 10, 2026. The mail carrier placed an opened brown envelope in our mailbox that was supposed to contain a magazine. However, the envelope was EMPTY with the exception of the packing slip stating the name of the magazine that was SUPPOSED to be in the envelope. We have the worst mail delivery experiences in our neighborhood. The day before, someone else's package was placed in our mailbox. Mistakes are expected, but not over and over again. Lost package ! Never was scanned after drop off ?? Theft ! No help and they say no clue and file a claim.

I sell items online through eBay. Most days I have several p[arcels to mail out. I love going to the Mount Dora Post Office because the entire staff there is so friendly and courteous and the service is quick. If there's a line of any length at all, the staff at the counter calls for help, and people drop what they are doing in the back room and man the mailing stations, doing everything they can to speed the service. Great staff nice, clean facility, and the utmost in customer service, I lived outside the USA for 18 years, and just recently returned, and the Mount Dora Post Office staff makes me glad and proud to be an American. read more

Staff most of the time is friendly... recent visit not so much. Guy named Chris gave me attitude and an inconsiderate tone when answering my questions- I'm sorry you don't like working a govt job, but if your facility is not constantly updating it's mail supplies- don't take your attitude out on me. I went simply to mail a package which had to be returned and there were no padded envelopes so he smirks and says you want it sent as priority like I can't afford the cost. Then he sends me to fill out the envelope since God forbid there's a pen out due to COVID-19, he then tells me to come back once finished and once he's done with a customer. I do that- again gives me attitude- I smile with mask on and tell him to have a good day. Be grateful you have a job at least and learn some customer service and manners while at it. Did not get small town feel for customer service. 1star for him, 5 stars for any of the women who have helped out. He should take notes from them. read more

I've always found this PO clean and professional. The staff is friendly and competent. They are opoen 6 days a week. Some people say no one answers the phone (local #) but that's not been my experience. Are there times when no one answers? Yes, it's a business. Workers are busy and they don't have a dedicated person to answer the phone. I'm impressed that they are as friendly as they are with some of the inane questions I've asked over the years. I read that people blame this PO for lost mail, which seems small minded. The US Postal Service is a system and things happen. I think it's impressive that I can send a letter to anywhere in the US and Guam for 55 cents. Could the postal system be improved? Of course. What business doesn't need improvement? For that matter, what person couldn't stand some form of improvement? The human side of this post office is made up of our neighbors, people who have good days and bad, just like the rest of us. If you are not getting treated in a way that you like, take a moment to consider how you treat others. Take a moment to notice your thoughts. Think about how you'd treat the employees if they were a family member. If you're having a bad or tough day, try not to take it out on those who are endeavoring to be of service to you. read more

I agree no one answers the phone if you call direct and if you use the 800 # it tells you there is at least an hr wait. Horrible service.

This is the worst post office of any I have ever used. 0 stars is not an option. There is no customer service. Phones are not answered or are taken off hook for the majority of the day. The postmaster is ineffective as problems or issues he states will be corrected never are. Mail is misplaced, lost, or left in the truck if the carrier so decides. Wish there was a choice, as complaints to the national customer service line are also ignored. read more

Could not ask for a better Post Office. The office is usually very busy but one typically doesn't need to wait very long due to excellent staffing. Being an office that caters to an older clientele patience is sometimes required and the staff in my observations has always been courteous and helpful. read more

This post office has me down $600 because of their incompetence. They lost a $300 package I was trying to return and have been completely unhelpful in trying to find it. After two months I have given up. Now the postal worker will not deliver to my apartment complex because a dog pooped by the mailboxes. When I went to the office to pick up my mail, the postal worker had it out for delivery. Why take it if you won't deliver it? I wish there was any way to receive my mail from another company, I would gladly pay to never deal with these people again. read more

In the year that has passed since the comments by Diane B., nothing has changed that I can determine. Although the counter service is friendly and helpful, the Postmaster offers nothing but excuses and belligerence for all that is wrong with delivery services, which is PLENTY! read more
