Worst customer service to get your passport. Staff is mean and aggressive for no reason. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

I've never been treated more poorly in my life! First, woman doing passports was 10 minutes late to our passport appointment. I asked her a simple question about if my sons original passport needed to be sent in or a copy, and she snapped back with a reply, "well you clearly know how to read better than me since I do this everyday." I let that one go, but when she came back a THIRD time with a nasty tone I walked out. I will NEVER go back there! This woman needs to be held accountable for the way she treats her customers! If I could give less than 1 star I would. This place is a joke. Why do I pay for shipping if I have to go fetch my package myself. This has literally happened DOZENS of times. Doesn't matter who I file a complaint with, doesn't matter who I talk to .... excuses and lies. I have never experienced such a disorganized post office. I go out of my way to use UPS or FedEx because you're pretty much guaranteed not to have your package delivered with USPS. They might as well give us a PO box. It's a shame you could not trust the USPS anymore. Last couple of months, i have a gadget coming from Germany, and I have been tracking it.. after two weeks or so, it showed that it has reached Livingston Post office. The last entry was "delivered to a mailbox in Livingston." I never received it so I called the local office and made a complaint, and the staff did two follow up calls to me to let me know that they are still investigating. That's the last time I heard from them. Today (July 23rd) a small package addressed to my son was delivered and there was nothing in it. The package was cut open with a blade or knife. There were 3 clean slits on that package, so it was intentionally done. I ran out to catch the mailman and his reply was "i scanned it and it said visible damage." That doesn't resolve the issue... and where does that leave me? Nowhere... except to a conclusion that not even your local post office can be trusted. read more

One of the lady in this post office is so rude and racism. I watched how she treated me and other color people compared with white peoples everyday. Whatever white people asked her help , she will help them without any complaints. For us, she just ignored or yelled at us. What a ugly lady! read more

I have been a Livingston resident and I use the USPS Livingston office for much of my shipping needs. All of the people at the counter are courteous, friendly and helpful. As far as this so-called angry bald guy goes, he is a decent person, knowledgeable and helpful. I am going to make him a name tag that says, "Helpful, Happy, Accommodating Bald guy. Remember, these people are doing their jobs, if a customer walks in expecting quick, cheap service, without any forethought or planning on their part, it is not the Postal Employees attitude that is the problem. read more

I dropped a package off to be returned to be returned back to Nordstrom on May 5th I got a receipt threw receipt out with tracking number as I've NEVER had an issue EVER package being returned to a retailer or for that matter anywhere the goods in here were in the amount of $1000 & because guy scanned at this location & the reason I threw out receipt there's no way of finding out where this package is dropped off on May 6th . I've been doing business with Nordstrom for over 22 years & they have always revived all my returns. I've called every USPS number & no one can be of help . I was scared coming into this post office after reading all the negative reviews on google. Needed to renew my passport and this was the only location who had available dates this week so I decided to book an appointment. Upon entering I was greeted by a nice lady who proceeded to ask if she can help me with anything and verified if I had the appropriate documentation before being seen by another associate. The associate also greeted me and was knowledgeable about the application process. Charles rung me up and asked a few more questions to finalize the transaction. Overall, I had a great experience at this location and i appreciate all the hard work postal workers do. read more

I'll second Dina C'a 5 stars. Went here to get a passport renewal since Maplewood and South Orange want you to wait months. Staff were almost in tears because there was a line - and that customers had to wait. Wow. Never seen a post office that cared so much. After I heard her say she was so upset we had to wait, I said "you must be doing something right" and showed her Dina's review. The staff were delighted. Beaming from ear to ear. Very poorly run branch. Consistently skips deliveries and offers lame excuses why 2-3 days without mail (not weather-related). Repeated problem, despite complaint. For two days in a row, I was tracking an Amazon order and was notified by Amazon that delivery was attempted by USPS but that package was not left. I called but could not get adequate explanation from Livingston post office why this would happen- signature was not required. On second day of attempted delivery, Amazon notified me that delivery was attempted at 7:40 PM (we were home!) but that package was once again not left. Again, Livingston post office had no explanation for the action of their carrier. Clearly he did not ring doorbell at 7:40 PM (we would have answered), and anyway it was not a package that required signature. It appears the postal carrier input that he attempted delivery, but in fact did not. He simply input false information to the system, which Amazon transmitted to me. Management of the Livingston P.O. could offer no explanation for this behavior, but lo and behold after I complained at 8:15 AM the next morning, the package magically appeared on my doorstep an hour later (my normal delivery time was usually around 5:30-6:00 PM). As it happens, we recently ended up moving away (to a nearby town) and handed in a change of address card at the counter. This branch lost the card, claimed never to have had notice. THEY suggested the best way to assure mail would be forwarded would be to go online (pay a fee!) to input the information. Apparently manager there doesn't even trust his own staff to properly input the information. Latest update: new owner of our former home has emailed me to tell me they are getting some of our mail! read more

I have lived in many parts of the country and have used the local post office. This Livingston Post Office by far is the worst! Visit any business day of the week at anytime and there will be a long line of customers and only 1 or 2 people working the 5 or 6 booths.. Very poor customer service.Very rude!! I went on a Saturday morning and when it got to me, I went up to the counter w/ the man with the glasses. The whole time he had this really bad face on and he might have said hi and I replied, "Hi I would like to mail this to..." He looked at me and said, "Say hello. Say something ok???" (I guess he didn't hear my 'hi' which doesn't matter anyways because he should never say that to a customer. When he asked me if I had written the custom form, I hesitated because I couldn't hear what he said. He then became impatient and just put up this ugly face and handed me the form. read more

Awful post office what makes it so terrible are the people, it's usually the same ones working in the front (I'm not talking about the mailman). They are very rude and unhelpful especially when they messed up my po box cancellation and didn't make any effort in fixing the situation. Won't be going here again or recommending it. If I could give no stars, i would. I have never in my life experienced the level of rude that I got at the post office today. I went in to drop something off to be sent out and had a pre paid shipping slip to attach to whatever I foudn to fit it in at the post office. The line was extremely long. So I packed it in the box quickly and waited on the line. I didn't see tape by the table so I just figured I would tape it when I got to the register. The line was out the door and only one guy was in the front working. When i first walked in two people were working but I guess the woman had gone in the back. Well the man was obviosuly frazzled with the amount of people there so after about 10 minutes he called someone to come help. A younger woman came to the front to help him but only help people who are picking up. She called them out of line. One woman handed the worker her pick up slip and the worker was like you got to go over there to pay. And the woman said what? I was on that line for over 20 minutes, you called me over here now your telling me i have to wait on this 30 minute line again to pay, can't i just give it to you, you have a register? The worker goes to the older woman, "Are you that dense in the head? Did I not just say that." The woman was like you pulled me out of the line. You should have said if you have to pay please stay on the line but you didnt and the worker ignored her and called the next person. Finally it was my turn and the woman goes you have to tape this packing slip on the package. I was like I tried but there is no tape. She goes well thats because we dont supply the tape anymore you have to have it yourself. I was like where does it state that? She simply said its a rule. I was like i am very sorry i don't often send packages out I didn't know but I work about 10 munutes away where can I get tape from. She gave me a dirty look and said this time i'll supply it but next time be more responsible and bring your own. I was baffled on the tone in which she spoke to me was so incredibly rude and condescending. She then taped it and through my package towards the back wall. While walking out, I heard the male yelling at some woman who obviously didn't hear him when he said the price and handed him the wrong amount. He was so rude to her. Maybe you all aren't happy with your job but not everyone is, so at least make the best of it and be kind to the customers. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more
