Review of the Livingston Staples Print & Marketing Services Only: On Monday, I submitted a color print job online earlier in the morning. The Staples website was easy to use for my project and gave me many options to select - type of paper, resolution, etc. I pre-paid so it was just a pick-up (you also have the option to pay at the store). So I've been to many Staples for print jobs like this and most times the experience is similar to a horror movie. Usually a customer in front of me in line is full-on arguing with the Staples associate, and you're just waiting for fist-to-cuffs. In contrast, the Livingston Staples is a good location! Got to give props when props are due - the name tag of the associate who helped me read Conner. When he handed me my prints, he showed me how he separated each batch job with a colored paper page. He was very professional and the prints came out exactly to spec. I would recommend this Staples if you're looking for a place for printing and document services. read more

Was looking for a new printer. Wasn't expecting much help but was pleasantly surprised by Vincent who asked if I needed some help and then helped me narrow down the choices and also offered some excellent advice to improve usage. He explained warranties, available service agreements and automatic ink delivery options. The store seemed clean and well stocked, with clear and descriptive pricing, things you expect in a retail store but often don't find, but overall it was Vincent who made the shopping experience memorable. First, watch the parking lot, someone cut across spots and nearly bumped me while parking. Some construction so maybe they didn't want to go past the speed bumps and potholes in the lot. This is located on the Westbound side of Rt 10. Inside the store is pretty empty, a wait on the service area to do a UPS package, eventually had the one person in the print shop free up enough to come back and help. read more

Went in to buy printer ink. I told employee the model number and brand and I even showed him a photo of the part of the printer with the model number so there would be no confusion. He looked it up on his hand-held device and directed me to one of the cartridges. But when I opened it at home I immediately knew it was not the right kind of cartridge. I wanted to place an in-store print project but was confused by the website options. First, I called in and Olivia answered and helped me with all my over the phone questions. I actually called more than once because I had additional questions. Then while I was in Staples Olivia helped me again. She printed my booklet and she even offered to put it together for me in the really nice bonding booklet. The whole process was very easy thanks to her! My project turned out AMAZING! When shopping at the Livingston Staples, I was only there to purchase copy paper and since the staff was very helpful about some other products I asked about, I asked for additional help with information on Laser Printers. The staff person was polite and guided me to the hardware printer section to answer some detailed questions about laser printers. So glad he just didn't point me in that direction and leave me hanging like other stores. It was a pleasant experience and will be back to purchase the laser printer once I get my new office set up. read more

Had been wanting to write this review for a while. The manager, the one with the long dreadlocks, should not be a manager. I bought a printer online and went to pick it up. He handed the box over to me but not without belittling me for not buying ink and that the ink that comes with the printer is only a sample. Mean, rude, and condescending and it was the second time he behaved that way with me since I had been there a few weeks prior and had asked his help for finding something. The ink that came with the printer lasted about 100 pages which makes this manager a lying salesman. read more

Came here to send a fax last week. The place is really quiet, dark and it seems like it's a dying store. With that said, the manager there is really nice and personable. Right when you walk in she's there to help you out. I had no idea what I needed to do to get my fax sent but she walked me through it and I was in and out of the store in no time. read more

Ordered invitations here from the online website. Custom invitations (upload your own design). I ordered them in the premium matte which looks beautiful and you can't beat their prices! Upon going to get the invitations ready to be sent I noticed that I uploaded the wrong image with the incorrect address information on it. I was devastated that happened with 100 invites! (No ones fault but my own) - I went by the copy center this morning (right after I realized they were incorrect) and explained to them what happened, hoping to get at least a partial refund or discount on the new order I was going to have to make, they did even better and actually let me send them the image and they made me new corrected invitations at no additional cost. AND had them ready same day! I can't thank them enough for doing this small act of kindness, and the worker Jenna who I dealt with was efficient and very helpful! More than ample parking, though they could use a set of central steps to the entrance rather than those laughable ramps. Always well stocked. Friendly staff. Good customer service. If they don't have it, they'll get it ASAP or they'll have it shipped right to you, or they'll let you know the closest Staples stores that have it in stock. They simply don't hassle you here, they're knowledgable, and they are friendly and helpful. You really can't ask for more out of a Staples. read more

The customer service I recieved tonight by Orlando was the best customer service I have ever gotten. I showed up 15 minutes before they close (yes I know, a jerk move). My mom wanted a certain lable maker for Christmas and the one that she wanted looked out of stock. I decided to leave since I felt bad because they were about to close. Orlando went out of his way to help me. He checked the computer and saw they had some in stock and searched the store for it and found it! When it was time to check out I denied the protection plan because I didnt want to take up anymore of their time. Once Orlando heard that he came behind the register and ended up giving me the protection plan for free. I will defintely be returning to this store. They have the best staff! read more

Need to train employees - terrible customer service. Bought an ink cartridge a few months ago in an emergency situation. When I got home I was online and saw that Staples online price was about $5 less and read that they will price match. I go back to the store and tell the cashier that I want a price match and she tells me they don't price match. Next thing you know, I look up and see right behind the customer service counter a sign stating that they price match. She either did not want to be bothered or she's an idiot. I have a small business and I always use staples to cut postcards for mailing. Today I went to the printing center. Every time I have been to a staples to do this, the person working there always cuts them within a few minutes. It literally takes 3 minutes to do. I've brought them in dozens of times. And it costs maybe $1.50 since it's such a small number I need cut. Half the time, they don't even charge me since it's such a small number to cut. The person working today told me the paper has to be in the "right format" (whatever that means) which it was...it's postcard paper. And I get an answer "you'll have to leave them. I have too many orders". And he is the "printing manager". I The I left, and Livingston Staples has lost my business. read more

Do not use this location for copy and print service. The equipment is inadequate and the employees are helpless. The location on Pompton Ave in Cedar Grove is much better, there is more working equipment and the assistant was friendly and helpful. read more

I've frequented the Staples since I moved to town but have been there more in the last 2 weeks with an ink issue than I have probably been in the last 2 years! I find the service to be great; the staff is always helpful and pretty knowledgeable. When I can't find something in the store, they send it to me with free shipping and it arrives the next business day. They do copies, sell print supplies, computers and office furniture, even snacks. All in all, a one stop shop for your business or office related needs with friendly service. The one thing I hate is their parking lot. It's so big but the railings around the store making getting inside kind of a pain (you'll understand once you're there!). read more

Went to this Staples to buy a desk calendar and an appointment book for 2018. It is December. Open the desk calendar when I got to work and discovered it runs from July 2017-June 2018. I guess I should blame myself for not scrutinizing the merchandise closer,but it wad wrapped in plastic wrap,it's the end of the year, and one can see is the big J for July. I spent $40.00+, I have to now check the date book. Really shopping should not be so hard. I will not return to this store,knowing I have to look so closely. I was trying to get a picture blown up at this staples and not only was the customer service HORRIBLE. Unprofessional if you ask me! The young lady who was helping me with my picture was not helpful at all and on her cell phone the entire time she was helping me which I find extremely disrespectful. She also handed me a picture I got printed and there was a rip in the picture and when I asked her for another because this one was not good enough and had a rip she seemed annoyed. She was also on her head phones hidden by her hair talking to someone on the phone so i didn't know if she was talking to me or someone else as well as laughing while on phone. Disgusting! We went to the copy/print section and the employee behind the counter was on the phone (clearly a personal call) as we walked up. We asked for 4 copies and a PDF version, employee said that it would take a long time to complete and could we come back in an hour. We walked around the store to get some other things, and that employee was on the phone the entire time. Clearly working hard. I except better from a large corporation like Staples. read more

The print center did a fantastic job for me, on a Saturday and Sunday no less! I dropped off a USB key with over 50 documents on it, from 2 pages to 200 pages each, and gave complex instructions as to paper type, slip sheets, binding, etc. They understood it all. They said they would phone me when the job was done, and they did. I then realized I had forgotten one set of docs, and rushed over with a second USB key. They printed those immediately, merged the outputs, and finished everything perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the result, the, service, or the price. I even got a discount for binding more than three documents (a "back to school" special I think). Easy to get to, easy parking, and (unlike some other comments here), the place was plenty busy. The print center was juggling a snapshot printing job for a couple with exacting requirements as to size, plus printing some reception invitations, and there were more people in line behind those folks. The two staffers expertly balanced their attention and kept the machines humming. They know their paper, they know their finishing, they know their printers ... what more could you ask. I see negative reviews here but they don't correspond with what I experienced. I have no connection with Staples at all, no reason to give them a good review if they didn't deserve it (which they did!) and in fact used to favor a Kinko's/FedEx further down Route 10, but I will come to this Staples from now on. read more

I often learn about products at the local staples in Livingston, and then order off the web because there are more product options, I get web coupon or delivery is easier for me than lugging stuff around. Were it not for the local store, I would not be making the web purchases. I recently purchased a wireless phone for my small business on the staples web site - it included recycling on old phone at a staples store. The store staff was unable to do this directly and had they returned the phone and resold it to me, my rebate would have been voided. To save me the effort of refiling the rebate they took the initiative and the store ate the $10. A small matter and staples is whole but the store takes a hit. Not fair. Their people are bright, very helpful and responsible for a lot more sales than they are probably getting credit for. Honestly, 99% of my web sales were shopped at the Livingston store first. I could find no place to share this with Staples directly... Please keep the local store open and staffed with the high quality people currently there. read more

The copy and print dont know want they doing. I been getting my calendars enlarge for work . I order blueprint online. Get a call telling me for my calendars can only be poster not blueprint anymore which cost twice as much money. The manager just left and told the salesperson to call me and for me to call the next day. I call customer service found out i can print with blueprint and heard nothing about it. I order online at another staples today. Recieve email its done and no call about not using blueprint. Livingston doesnt know want they doing. Go to another staples for copy and print read more

Bait & Switch on phones at Staples with fraudulent hidden charges by Verizon Promotion in their online and in the store weekly circular on the Samsung Galaxy S6 cell phone @ 50% off the full price and was shown as $288.99. No monthly payment and upgrades included as long as you had a monthly Verizon plan and No contract requirement was stipulated in their promotion. In the store a salesman and then the Supervisor he called over said I would pay the $288.99 and then an adder for an access fee on the line ported from AT&T was $20/month to my current plan as stated in the Verizon pricing plan they had on display and I was given. The 2nd guy we dealt with (business card says "Tech Center Supervisor", but he was the acting manager also) went into the back to see what colors they had and came out with a black S6 and S5. He offered the Samsung S5 at $99.99 saying it was a special and confirmed that it would only be + $20.00 to add a line to my existing account and No monthly adder for the phone. Kept us captive at the store for 2 1/2 hours while he said he was porting the old phone # from AT&T, updating the phone, and transferring the data to the new phone all at no charge. He was giving us the accessories for Free to make up for the delay and she will be very happy in the end. He added a liquid screen protector to the new phone without asking then he also tore off the screen protector on my phone and put the liquid coating on. The phone was never activated by Verizon and the phone number was never ported from AT&T, he said he could not transfer the data from the old phone go to the Verizon store (which charges for the service unless they sell you a phone), and I updated the phone he claimed he was updating. Verizonwireless.com showed the new phone was at $40/month access fee there was a hidden fee and they were charging me $20/month for 24 months = $480.00 for the cost of the phone. Next day he said he would fix it with his Verizon Rep. to only a $20 access fee do not return the phone. When came to the store he tried another switch to other charges. Then we fought over a credit for the phone & accessories which he originally said were free, but I was charged for and he claimed now was not returnable. He relented as other customers were listening and finally gave me a refund. When I called Staples Corp. they will NOT make it right even though they advertise 100% satisfaction guaranteed. They said it was all cancelled with Verizon which was a blatant lie. I was still being charged by Verizon $20/month for the access on a 2 year contract. The phone cost was only removed. They refused to make things right by me and were kind enough to let me know the Armor coating applied to my phone by their sales supervisor without my approval which I do not like cannot be removed and they will not compensate me for the screen protector he destroyed which was on my phone. I have evidence of my story so they know this was all true. The Staples office of the president representative also was quick to clarify that Grand Larceny is $500.00 and this was only $480.00. I had to contact Verizon myself to remove the new phone and insure it was not ported in the future. Verizon DID not step in and help and actually said if I returned to the store I would face a restocking charge. Verizon online chat said call their 800#. Porting said he had not done it correctly and when told of the fraud agreed not to port the line. The last woman at Verizon was the only one to help remove the new phone from the plan without charging the $350.00 cancellation fee, but by then the number of emails, texts, chats to Verizon were all attached to the account so it was clearly visible to them that a fraud was committed. Staples condones this behavior as they do not print a contract and you are asked to sign a little screen which hides what it says and you are agreeing to. They intimidate you when you start looking to examine what's in the little screen and when you say you want to see what you are agreeing to. They make it appear that they are being compensated by Verizon for getting a line transferred from AT&T and that is why it is such a good deal. They give you a Verizon rate plan which is irrelevant. Watch the hidden fees that these crooks add and most people overlook or assume are standard. Shame on Verizon Wireless for allowing them to hid phone cost fees in access line charges while saying those old plans are no longer sold or available and issuing pricing guides which do not show those corrupt plans. read more

I called them up re laptop repair in advance and was told it would cost $79 to evaluate. I went there on 6/24 and spoke with Josh at front of store drop-off desk. I needed to repeat the same info 2 to 3x as he would ask me a question then proceed to hold a conversation with other Staples employees as I was answering him. He proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions that had nothing to do with my laptop (am I satisfied with my wireless connectivity at home?) then pronounced that it would cost $379 to repair my laptop as he determined that my laptop would need a new display (it needs a new graphics card, not a display). I'm not sure whether it's Staples policy to employee rude and poorly trained personnel or if they don't actually care about their customers, however at this point I am willing to pay more for office supplies just so I won't have to enter their store again. Needless to say, I am better off buying my next laptop anywhere other than Staples. read more
