Employees left a sign saying "on break" during posted times they should be open. No time they left no time they'll be back. Just a sign on door saying on break. They gave me incorrect information. I asked a Cleo or servant how much to mail an envelope and I had the contents there to get the exact t price so I could mail it. She scanned the bar code on the back and I said I needed to mail all I had with me in the envelope I purchased. How will they know it was paid for. Her reply. "They'll scan the bat code. I questioned her again, "I have to mail all you see here. how will they know I paid for it?" They'll scan the back! Good thing I didn't take her word for it and made another trip to have her shrug her shoulders and walk away saying "no you only paid for the envelope!" This was a time sensitive envelope that would have hopefully been returned to me because of here negligence. When I went back the second time the other servant called her no less than ; times and she wouldn't come out from the back. When I came back the second time the same thing, called her several times before third person had to interrupt her from the back. She definitely has to be investigated for nonperformance on the job. Every time I go to the post office the clerks are friendly and even though they are busy they are always working to move the line.. Oh no!!!!! Never in my life have I ever walked out of the post office in a bad mood I come in year 10 now a costume to my sister in Florida and I'm using priority mail so I grab a box and put the costume minute I walk up to the cashier and I say can you please tape the box and he tells me that I have to buy a roll of tape! I could not believe what I was hearing I said where is the priority mail tape and he told me that they only use priority mail tip: brown boxes!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing I've been using the post office in from a teenager and never in my life have I been thankful that the post office is losing so much money due to the Internet and email I hope all these post office is still closing down if you wanna start getting greedy like that in a take care of your customers and be stingy I think I would rather use UPS or pay a little more for overnight with FedEx read more

We moved back here after 10 years in northern Virginia and are delighted to say this post office is beyond expectations when it comes to service. Every time I step up to the counter I am treated with kindness, respect and knowledgeable recommendations. I admit that after living in Fairfax County, I became numb to the crisp, officious and generally unhelpful treatment from my local postal counter workers. I assumed their culture trained them to be fast and impersonal. So when I was treated with kindness and respect I didn't know what hit me. A woman in her late 70s stepped up to the counter next to me. The woman behind the counter asked the usual required questions about hazmat contents in her little envelope and, when the elderly woman was asked to touch "no" on the touchpad, she refused to touch it and became distraught from fear of the Coronavirus. The postal worker replied kindly, "don't worry, I understand." My attendant asked her colleague what she'd do then when the manager questioned this breech in protocol. She explained, "I will explain the reason and take responsibility for it." This never would have happened in NOVA. Brava. read more

I use this USPS all the time. My P.O. Box is there and I mail from there. The postal workers are always pleasant, professional and helpful. I have seen on the media that the USPS May close. I can't imagine- it is a vital and essential service for the community. How would we mail our letters and packages? Everything doesn't warrant the expensive private mail services. The West Orange Post Office on Eagle Rock Avenue has some downright inefficiency going on with some of its staff. I have been there several times when they have no stamps to sell. This IS a post office and they should always have stamps in stock. Worse though, is when a patron gets to the window, pays for a service (with cash), and is then told by the postal employee that no change is available. I witnessed this happen to one person, and then it happened to me. I was mailing an envelope by first-class priority mail. The cost was $3.80. I handed a five dollar bill to the woman at the window. She took the money and then handed me back a one dollar bill and told me there was no change. I told her I would use a credit card if she gave me back the cash. She said the transaction was already processed in the system and she could not do that. She still owed me .20 cents change. If she were smart and efficient she would have told me upfront (and at the start of the transaction) that no change was available and could I please pay by credit card. She did not do that. I am out the change. She should have found some change among the other employees. This type of thing should not happen to any patron using the postal service. It would have never happened in the old days when the post office was a much better organization. I would recommend using another post office and avoiding this particular one. As well, they also disrespect the American flag as seen by how it is treated on their exterior flagpole. read more

Best post office I've ever been to! They exceed my expectations! I love their late hours and the 3 workers at the desk are so nice. Sometimes I forget tape & scissors and they let me borrow theirs without hesitation. I don't ever get attitude or eye roll like EVERY other USPS location. I'm greeted with a smile and positivity, surprisingly since that's the reputation of a USPS. I brag on this postal location frequently. Post offices aren't known for their efficiency or customer service, so my expectations were to deal with a long line and a grumpy clerk. I was stunned by how NASTY Yvonne was. She chatted with the other workers about where to get lunch, while a line of at least 6 people grew into a room full of angry customers. She has a problem with anyone who is white. She folded up my envelope, shook it, and puffed it up, then slid it into some meter that she decided meant I had to pay double... It was a regular letter with 3 sheets of 8.5x11" paper... Really?? Next time, there was tape UNDER the postage stamps on my package, like a centimeter or so to keep it closed. She decided that the postage was void. I argued with her and went to the Livingston post office where I was told there is no such rule. I intend on filing a complaint about Yvonne. She has no right to change the rules, based on the color of your skin. read more

JP is exactly right and I d not know why nothing is being done about it. I went to this annex this morning with 6 people in line and one girl on the counter on a Saturday morning 10/11? If her name is Yvonne, he is exactly right. Very bad attitude and was not helpful at all. We were turning a package to back to the company. "Oh she said you have to flip the package inside out put the return address label on the package and tape it up". OK well when we went to look for the tape and asked the girl, she said "Oh you have to pay for the tape which was $3.49 a roll?" Post Offices I go to when you return a package they tape it for you. Whats up with this???? Needless to say we left w/o returning the package and now I have to wait till Tuesday to return it because Closed for Columbus Day. Needless to say I will not be going to this post office anymore and I think Yvonne should be reprimanded for her actions! read more
