The employees there are totally unhelpful and rude. Try your best to do whatever you need done online.

When we first moved to the area, there was a small post office in Aliso Viejo. It had the worst…read morehours possible and horrible customer service. When they closed that location down, we started coming to this location. The Laguna Niguel Post Office is so much better than the old Aliso location. The Laguna Niguel Post Office is located off of Alicia Parkway and Niguel Road. The parking lot is large, but can be crowded at times. Sometimes, people park against the gate due to a lack of parking spaces during busier times. The business itself is average in size. Sometimes the line extends past the P.O. boxes and it moves kind of slow. They typically have 2 people working at the front counter, but if the line is moving too slow, they'll bring out another representative to help speed things up. Customer service here is excellent! If the line slows down, the lady from the passport photo room will take customers into her office and assist them with their packages etc. They run a pretty tight ship here! I have been to several post offices in South OC and this one is my go-to location. They know all of their regular customers and it's refreshing to see that they remember your face when you come in. I've had plenty of great experiences here and I will continue to come to this location to mail packages etc.

This is the only USPS that I've actually seen 3-4 associates working in the front, which suggests…read morethat they are actually relatively busy and need enough staff to handle the customers that do come through the front door. Although the front was well staffed, it still took about 10 minutes until I was able to receive service. However, the service was good and the associate did not have any issues with my oddly sized package (nearly the size of a large poster that could not be bent) and weighed my package and provided a receipt without any additional questions. Overall, it seems this location is able to handle the traffic, it was a relatively steady line of people visiting on a weekday late afternoon, and would probably return if I had USPS related items to address.

FIVE STARS! I had to…read moremail out some gifts to NY. A post office in Dana Point California means palm trees all around, a nice private parking lot with 12 spaces, a huge spotless lobby with plenty of counters to pack, repack and fill out forms, a great pets allowed policy allowing seniors to bring in their adorable puppies and the best employees including the stellar Desiree who was calm, quick, alert, thorough, polite and offered me all options (not just the most expensive ones) to mail the packages to New York. I needed padded mailers in two sizes and they had ample supplies plus funny greeting cards to make you smile and laugh as you wait. This was a great experience. Thank you USPO in Dana Point California. " I wish they all could be (Dana Point ) California .....".

A woman from the back office came out to "help". Asking people to give her drop offs. I waited to give her my 2 prepaid parcels. When it was my turn, one package was rudely pushed back with no offer to assist or to find a solution - "just you will have to repackage it and come back". I asked for help to cover an old label because getting to the post office is difficult. She refused. The label could have been covered by a mailing label or tape had the individual chosen to help. I offered to buy tape. "No"was her answer. I stood at the side counter for almost ten minutes balancing a cane with a broken leg, sweat dripping to peel off the label so that I did not have to manage another trip. There are a lot of good folks that work at the PO - this was not an example.

The location is easily accessible and my local post office delivery person is also a valuable asset to our community and is highly skilled and personable. I stopped by this location this afternoon to drop off a package -- a simple, routine errand that…read moreshould have taken five minutes. Instead, I left frustrated and frankly disappointed by the level of service I received. The associate at the counter, Karen, was cold and unwelcoming from the moment I walked up. There was no smile, no greeting, and no effort to make the interaction pleasant. But beyond her demeanor, what really got to me was the lack of basic guidance. She never told me where to write the delivery address on my package -- something that takes two seconds to communicate and is a fundamental part of the job. As a result, I had to redo the labeling entirely, wasting both my time and my packaging. What makes it worse is that this kind of mistake is completely avoidable. A simple heads-up -- "make sure to write the address here" -- would have saved the hassle. Instead, I was left to figure it out on my own and then correct it under her watch, which was both inconvenient and embarrassing. Good customer service doesn't require going above and beyond -- it just requires the basics: a courteous attitude and clear communication. Today, I got neither. I'll be looking for an alternative location or courier going forward. Life is too short to spend it dreading a simple post office run. I'd strongly encourage management to revisit customer service training here, because first impressions -- and last impressions -- matter. Not recommended.
