I give this store -5 stars. I just tried to print a label, and the guy was really rude. Saying over and over again that they only print out of convenience. If it's not a PDF they can't print it. I bought tape for $5+ instead, but next time will drive the extra distance to the one by the sushi place -they are so friendly there. The previous owners were good, the current one? Not so much at all. The first horrible experience I've had was when I first stopped by, I came in with a package that needed a QR Code to scan for them to print a label. The owner looked at me in a condescending manner and asked me "What is all this?", looking at me as if I was stupid. I had to explain to him that they'd have to scan the QR Code I provide so they can print a label for it and then I can drop it off with them. It felt like it was an inconvenience for him and afterwards, he said "Ohhh, ok, that's a first." I then replied with, "We all learn something new everyday." Tit for tat. Afterwards, I dropped in a few times wherein I was just in and out and dropped off packages, no problems. The second time was when I dropped off a package and he was talking to a customer about his trip to Barcelona. I mean, cool you've been to Barcelona, that's awesome. It felt like, again, I was an inconvenience for him, trying to drop off a package, while he was having this wonderful conversation about how he loved Barcelona. Not one bit did he excuse himself from his conversation to actually do a job that he's supposed to be doing. He gave me a receipt, didn't look me in the eye one bit and just carried on with his conversation. As I walked out, I can still hear him talking about Barcelona and that honestly, made me scratch out going to Barcelona on my travel bucket list. Thanks condescending UPS owner. The last straw was when I came in to drop off a UPS SurePost package and the associate that was assisting me didn't even know what it was. She kept telling me that they wouldn't accept it. I've dropped off countless UPS SurePost packages with other UPS branches with no arguments at all. She accepted the package anyway and said she could drop it off when the USPS Driver picks up their package. I had to call a few hours later and explain to them about UPS SurePost which was a service that is stated on the UPS website, which she claimed didn't exist. Clearly, it all comes down to the owner, who most likely didn't know about UPS SurePost and never trained their employees about it. It really all comes down to the owner who was totally full of himself with no regards to customers in front of him at all. Well, sir, if you focused on training your employees more and going to therapy to fix that snarky attitude of yours, maybe, just maybe, you wouldn't drive customers away. This place is a mess and I'd suggest going to the UPS by Gen Kai if within the area. read more

I have 2 other UPS postal board at UPS stores in San Clemente and Laguna and had the best friendships and business experiences with these. He was not willing to help me with taping 3 boxes being returned to Amazon. He didn't want to insert my return labels on each of the 3 boxes. I visited this store for the first and last time the other day. I normally go to the tiny parking lot store in Dana Point, at PCH and Amber Lantern, where everyone is terrific. This day, I was headed the other way and decided to take my Amazon returns to the store in Monarch Bay Plaza. It's funny, I didn't even know the name of the guy who met me at the door, but thanks to all the other one star reviews, I do now. I'm pretty sure I had the unpleasant honor of meeting Wade. Because I had been saving up my returns, I had quite a few. I counted myself lucky to have found a grocery cart near my car and loaded it up with my boxes. As I approached the door, a man, whom I now assume was Wade, opened the door and announced to me, without even a hello, that Amazon didn't pay them to help customers bring in boxes. I asked if I could bring in the cart and he said no. He told me I had to bring each box in. Now, my spine is fused from my S1 to my T10 and I am not allowed to carry heavy boxes. One box was heavy and I did get it out of my car and into the cart but figured that was all the heavy lifting I would have to do. As I'm carrying in the boxes I told him I had had back surgery and offered to show him my scar as proof, since I figured lots of people tell him about their backs. He said no thank you and told me there were plenty of other stores I could go to. Gosh Wade, how kind. Towards the end of my visit, the girl who was helping me, told me I would need to buy tape because she needed to tape shut two boxes. Since I just wanted to leave, I told her okay. She said the charge for what I assumed would be two pieces of tape was $4.31 and asked if I had any cash, which I did not. I was informed that the minimum charge at this store was $5.00. Wade told her to just go ahead and charge my card so that I could be on my way. Gee thanks Wade. I must of still been in shock because I forgot to ask for the rest of the roll of tape, since I assume that's what I must have bought for my $4.31, before I left. A couple of days later, I went back to my usual store and told the guy who always helps me what happened at this store. He was stunned. He also had never heard of the policies Wade had informed me of. I'm giving this review one star for the girl who helped me out and zero stars for Wade. You're right Wade, there are other stores. I won't be darkening your doorstep again. PS. Wade, kindness goes a long way. You should try it sometime. read more

The manager working today was feeling rude. As soon as I walk in without even hello, he says that my Amazon return was not good because my box was not taped closed. I asked if I could borrow their tape to close the box and laughed in my face, he said "I can charge you to put tape on it. So I took the unit out of the box and he said no you have to leave it in the box. My box is kind of thrashed from how I opened it so I asked "will you put a new box in it for the charge to or us or are you just charging me for the tape?" His immediate reply was "I don't need the sarcasm. You can go somewhere else" and kicked me out. I'm not one for confrontation so I just left. Even if I didn't say anything, I'd be concerned, my product would be returned to Amazon. Safe to say, I'll return my Amazon products through different means other than UPS read more

Really terrible service. I normally like to support local businesses but it seems like they are really struggling, overcharging on supplies and also the employees and manager seem miserable there. If you're that miserable with a job, don't take it out on the customers or have it be at the expense of customer service. Go any where else or use the ups pick up service. Not coming back here. Ridiculous. Horrible. Rude. Wanted to charge me $1 for a piece of tape to seal a box. Only had a credit card and they then wanted to charge me $5 for the piece of tape due to their minimum. I let the counter person know that I use their services at least 1-2 times a week -- I figured they would give me a piece of tape since I am a regular customer. They could have easily looked me up... This is one of the worst customer experiences one could have in our beautiful beach town. Wade, the owner, should not running a service business. His attitude is always rotten. He is a smart ass when asking for help. When I confronted him about his attitude, he responded with, "I have a direct personality. Sorry about that..." This place is the worst. I walked in there today with an amazon return. The girl at the counter was rude right away. She said you need to completely package in a box. Amazon instructions told me not to as it takes up less room not to. A jr. manager stepped in named wade or something and was just as bad. He said amazon doesn't care if you return that they are a multi-billion dollar company! He also told me that amazon had lied to me. I called another ups and took it there. I felt compelled to write a review today about the excellent customer service I received from Max and his supervisor (a female) when I called in because Amazon did not receive a return I had returned to the store. They went above and beyond to help me. I was honestly shocked. I didn't have my receipt because I never get one because it's scanned and the tracking number is there above the QR code. Lesson learned. Always take the receipt. That being said, even if I don't get the money back from Amazon the UPS Store here did go above and beyond. Thank you! read more

Everytime I have come to this UPS store there's a gentleman who is so condescending and so belittling in his tone I will never come here again Yes maybe I should have seen on the label that I had to print the label but everything he says is just dripping with disdain and it's just rude and it's no customer service to talk to somebody like they're an idiot and he's done this on multiple occasions with not only me but also my employer. avoid this location at all costs! the owner/manager has a napoleon complex who doesn't understand customer service. if you're going to make the "logical" business decision as a shipping store to not let me use a piece of tape to ship my package, then communicate this rather than be a complete asshole about it and tell me to leave. another option would be to let me pay for a piece of tape? but i guess that is too complicated for such a simpleton. this store is an embarrassment to dana point. id rather walk my package to egypt than ship with these guys. with love, karen read more
