First it was unclear where i was to go to drop off prepaid packages. when I found the line for that there was no one there and it was unclear of where to put the package. some lady quickly walked past and pointed to where to put it. then she runs after me to my car and gives it back saying that i have the wrong label when i have sent things in the same type of packaging with the same label many times. when i said that she said rudely "i have worked here for 20 years and i think i would know". so i left after 10 minutes with my package in hand. i went to the UPS store she took a look and shipped it with no issue. if i could leave less than one star i would. read more

Sad to see so many other people experience such awful service from the Kirkland Post Office. For at least the last three years we constantly have misdirected mail. No matter who we talk with we all hear, "oh, a temporary Carrier was on your route". We recently had our mail on "hold" for a week while we were away on vacation. All of our "held" mail is now missing. It has not been delivered and it is not in the Post Office and no one has much energy to try to find the missing mail. No one answers the phone at the Kirkland Post Office so I went in person to try to speak with a supervisor. After waiting in line for 20 minutes I was told that the supervisors were in a meeting and they could not be interrupted! While in line I listened to two other people with similar problems. The Counter employees certainly are trying their best but there are some serious system problems. read more

This post office has great customer service, problem is during the busiest time of the day which is lunch time for some reason they only have 1 maybe two people working? Never have gotten that one. read more

Horrible place. The staff is extremely slow, and they are as rude as they are slow. I have a business which requires me to send packages and get receipts from the staff, so I am in the unfortunate position where I must deal with them, and it is a pain every single time. Rebecca, especially, is very unhelpful and is fairly incompetent. If you have time and need to use usps services, I highly recommend you use a different office. Somehow I have a feeling that even with no people, they'd still magically look busy and will not be able to assist anyone coming in. read more

best one to go to for parking and access. Never as busy as redmond!

I missed a certified mail delivery. I requested a re-delivery. Postal worker did not knock or ring doorbell. Stuck the "sorry we missed you" notice in my mailbox. Having been there a few times, I have to agree with the majority of reviews. The staff are friendly, but that place is chronically understaffed and they're slow as snails. read more

If you go to the actual store the customer service people were nice but if you call them - service sucks!! Called for missing packages... the phone always busy. I kept on dialing the number for more than 1 hours and finally go through and clerk received the call was very rude. read more

I used to get great service when my area was designated "Bothell". Now that I am in "Kirkland" I don't receive my mail! When I go to find out why, I'm given no good reasons. So I fill out Police Reports. This Post Office is slow but that isn't the worst thing about it. The management seems apathetic. Maybe they are just overworked, but I hate not getting my mail! read more

I had an issue in which I thought a package was stolen as it said it was delivered and it never arrived. My postal carrier, personally looked into it and relayed me to the appropriate people at the post office. When I called, the gentleman on the other end was kind, respectful and very helpful. It was deemed that there was a glitch with the computers. He assured me that I would be receiving my package and took accountability for their error. I appreciate how this was handled. I feel that all parties involved were very competent and had genuine concern for the issue at hand. Thank you Kirkland USPS! No Newmans, there ;)! read more

Worst post office I have ever been to. Service is terrible and the ladies at the desks are rude. Avoid at all costs.

10 people in line and one person working at the desk. She never calls for assistance to help speed things up. If you like waiting around for 30 min come to this place. read more

I have never had a good experience here. They have nonexistent return policies, and at best mediocre customer service. One worker demanded to take her ten despite a steadily growing, all ready long line. This worker was even rude to her other coworkers. I wish I had something positive to say other than they keep well stocked. read more

Package delivery attempt said package would be available for pickup at post office at 8:00 AM, YELP said post office would be open at 8:00 AM, here at 8:00 AM, not open yet. Well played post office, got me again! This is a fun game... read more

This is by far the worst post office I have been to. Not only is the line always out the door, but the customer service is horrendous! Expect to wait in line for 15 minutes, at the very least. There is one nice lady that works there that usually is a little bit helpful. The supervisor, Singh, is not helpful in the least bit and would not ask anyone to help look for the package that I was asking for. If you can avoid this Post Office, I definitely would. From now on, I will be going to any other post office I can, even if it is out of my way. read more

Worst post office I have ever dealt with! If I schedule packages to be picked up at my door, only a couple of miles away, NO ONE SHOWS UP, so they sit on my doorstep while I'm out of town. This happened twice recently. My mail is OFTEN given to my neighbors and their mail to me which we deliver to each other. I had an important package come recently, and tracking said it was sorted in Kirkland, then out for delivery. The postal worker couldn't find it when I met him at my mailbox. He said he would look for it (although his English was so poor he may have said, "I am going to lunch"). Then, tracking last night showed that it LEFT Kirkland and made a tour or the Pacific Northwest, going from Kirkland (where I live) to Seattle, then Tacoma, then back to Kirkland! I have no clue if it will show up today because the lovely morons at the Kirkland Post Office might decide it needs to boomerang out of Kirkland AGAIN and sweep through Canada before coming back. Just not at all acceptable and no wonder people are fed up with the postal service, but this location is a joke. read more

They have the longest lines and fewest clerks of any post office I have been served by in my 73 years. They have made more delivery errors in the last 4 years than all other post offices I have been served by COMBINED. The clerks are nice enough, but it takes a long time to retrieve packages. I wish I had an alternative. read more

highly recommend reading: awful experience today. The clerk was the most unfriendly and non-helpful person i have ever experienced in any kind of a 'customer service' role. not only did i wait over 20 minutes while only 1 window was open, but then when she told me i should step aside to fill out a simple address and let someone else up to the counter, i said, "no," as i have been waiting for over 20 minutes to get to you. i told her it would only take me seconds to complete it. she then announced to the long line that i would not step aside. it was unreal. i finished the address lines in seconds. i then watched her go to the back room even though i was finished writing and looking up, waiting for her. i know she knew i was finished too. i plan to never go back there. i issued a complaint with her manager as well. read more

The painter's van was being removed when we saw the mailman come and he raced past our mail boxes as the van was moving into a driveway. All he would have to have done is back up one driveway and deliver the mail for our four houses and he just sped off. I caught him behind our house, delivering to the houses there and asked him to give us our mail & he said to call the city if I wanted, he was not required to deliver the mail if the mail boxes were blocked. The painter's van was not in front of the mail boxes, but about 3-5 feet from them. This has been an ongoing grievance for a long time and we've several times, not gotten our mail until the next day as the house next door has a lot of coming/going vehicles for care for her two sons. We've pretty well educated all of them to park in her driveway or far from the boxes, but the mailman's attitude was not compliant, not considerate, not service-oriented, but actually lazy and arrogant and defiant about having to do his job delivering. He clearly saw and understood we were moving the painter's van and actually sped by to get to the other mail boxes and not have to deliver our mail. read more

We (our entire street) have had our mail stolen 4 times in 6 months. In addition to not receiving bills, cards and having outgoing packages stolen, grocery bags filled with our opened mail and empty credit card bill envelopes have been found in other parts of Kirkland. We have reported this to the police, the postman (who simply shrugged, grunted and drove off) as well as to this post office and no one gives a @#$@#%. I don't expect the police to do anything more than take a report, but for goodness sake the post office should at least be able to help us get a community locking mailbox. Trying to get a supervisor's or the postmaster's attention after waiting in line for 20 minutes was futile as is trying to reach someone who is helpful on the phone. To top it off, 50% of the time when we put a vacation stop on the mail, it doesn't happen (twice in the past year, two of our neighbors had stuffed mailboxes accumulating over 2 weeks of mail, the postman did absolutely nothing to investigate why this was happening - we only noticed when their boxes were stuffed so full that the mailman left the doors open). The US Government wants to shut down post offices to save money? I think that might be a good idea as far as Kirkland is concerned. The entire place should either be shut down or completely restaffed. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever had to use. After having mail and packages stolen from my home, I rented a P.O. box as a last resort, but I still can't get my mail and packages in any reliable fashion. I have had too many unbelievably bad customer service experiences with the Kirkland P.O. to mention here, but here is just one example: A package was shipped to me in May 2014 and USPS tracking indicated that it made it to the Kirkland P.O., but when I tried to pick it up, they couldn't find it. They offered no recourse except to keep me on hold on the phone for 25 minutes, then make me wait in line when I came in, then to offer to call me the next day (which, of course, didn't happen). The package never turned up. The company that shipped it to me offered to ship another item to my P.O. Box at the company's expense (!) so I gave up on the P.O. ever finding the first one. But -- you guessed it -- the USPS tracking on the second package shows that it also got to the Kirkland P.O. and THEY LOST IT AGAIN! What are the chances of the Kirkland P.O. losing, within their building, two identical packages, a month apart? It really boggles the mind. I feel like I'm living in Mayberry and Goober is running the post office! read more

This post office is my least favorite place on Earth. Okay, that might be overly dramatic, but seriously - can we at least get some music or something? And If you can't afford to hire more than two people despite their being equipment enough for 5 - then at least turn the place into what it is, a waiting room. Hand out some numbers, and some chairs. It's agony standing in a line of 10 for 45 minutes on a Tuesday at 2 (when I made the mistake of assuming it might be less busy) with some guy loudly talking on his phone behind me. All I want to do is pick up my mail people. It's not my fault my apartment installed a mailbox suited for a squirrel so I'm pinged with a 'mailbox' full card every time I turn around. In my several dreaded visits to this place, the same 4 people have worked their over the course of 5 years, and I don't know that they're familiar with friendliness. They literally give zero F's - and I get it - people are shitty and you have your game face on to prepare for it. But it is a serious killjoy and an epic stressor on my day walking into this place. Their is plenty of room for improvement, almost too much, so for goodness sake PLEASE, do something to make getting/sending mail bearable. read more

I had a package delivered on a Tuesday and it was placed into a parcel box at my apartment complex. The key I was given was poorly labeled, and the key ended up getting stuck in the wrong box. I called and went into the post office 3 days in a row trying to explain what happened and to get some help, each time getting snubbed and being told they would "call me". On Friday, the manager, Rafael, said that he would open it personally on Saturday. Saturday came around, and Rafael didn't want to help me. My mail carrier was thankfully on my side and encouraged his own boss to do his job. The entire time Rafael was "helping" me, he was complaining about how maintenance was gone until Monday, and was talking to me like I'm some kind or moron. I was ignored for 3 days. It is not MY fault they waited until maintenance was gone to help me. He had to damage the lock to finally free my package, and he was complaining to me about who was going to pay for it. Rafael is the most unprofessional manager I have ever dealt with. My mail carrier was the only person who was at all interested in making things right. read more
