I avoid this post office for many of the USPS's services simply because its too small for how busy it can get with lines extending out to the lobby area if there is a long wait. Additionally they are always poorly stocked. I've driven over here 4 times in the past year looking for USPS's flat rate boxes and envelopes but they are always empty of anything except for usually the largest flat rate box. Its so hard to ask them if they have any in the back because of the aforementioned long wait time. I have given up trying to come here for anything except mailing post because its on the way to work, but if I'm in search of a flat rate envelope or box, I'll head to the Redmond USPS office, even though its a little further away from me. read more

Did anyone REALLY expect for the Post Office to have 5 Stars? Let's be real: They're fine. As long as you give yourself plenty of time during the holidays, and know exactly what you're doing before you go in, you won't leave steaming mad. This location specifically is great. Every time I come here, I feel like I am on an episode of MVT's The Boiling Point. Really long lines regardless of the time of day or year. The staff is friendly, but not the brightest ... a lot of these problems could be solved with better management and planning. read more

US Post Office - This is the line every time at this post office. They always have 20 people in line with one or two people working. - Post Offices Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

This post office exemplifies what a post office should be: A place to drop off letters and packages to have them mailed somewhere. I look out my window ever day at this post office. People are always coming in and out, parking in the 45-car parking lot, from 8:30 to 5:30 every week day. Sometimes people even park on the sidewalk, or sideways in the diagonal spaces. And one time someone forgot to put their car in park, got out of their car, and started running after it as it rolled 15 feet backwards! He managed to stop it, and a friendly fellow-Post-Office-goer held it while he jumped back in and parked it again. You may not see these shenanigans when you visit, but maybe you'll be lucky! If you don't want to participate in the parking party, there's a drive-thru area with 6 drop boxes. Hundreds of people drive through every day, and you can too. read more

rudest customer service. 0/10 recommend, go to FedEx in Kirkland if you need something shipped they are truly the best.

If you show up a single minute after two PM expect to wait in a long line. The staff is friendly enough, the store is relatively clean and the parking is ample but when it comes to the post office you want to be in and out quickly and that simply never happens here. Literally nine people in this line and only one person working. read more

This is a business in downtown Kirkland and I have not received mail or 2 days now. I have tried to call the post master and the Main office Kirkland and I have dialed 3 times so far ( I will keep trying) and it rings and rings and then going to disconnect. I know Market Street has a short route and carrier's do not like a short route. But I think that is beside the point. I pay dearly with my taxes and etc and I should have the same service as every one else. This post office needs an overhaul in service and needs a new post master! What is one to do? I also do property management and need my mail service every day especially at the first of the month when rent checks are due. read more

Terrible experience! Low efficiency, delay in information updates, no guarantee in delivery even if redelivery rescheduled, etc. What else can I say? Only if I cannot rate it 0 star. I really wish one day we don't have to bear with it. read more

Staff is always courteous, that gets this PO two stars. The good ends there. Packages can never be found quickly when you have to pick them up. Several times (Including today) I attempted to mail a package when the main office was not open but their drop box is "broken", "out of order". Long lines at this post office are the norm and often there is only one clerk running the front area. read more

This is a nice Post Office, I have used this place for many years and got to know some of the employees there. They are great people. I try to support the Post Office by mailing packages so they can hae the revenue to stay in business. In most cases, the service there is slow due to some of the customers who show up htere with so many questions and they don't even have their packages taken care of and some can't even speak English so the staff take extra time to take care of them. Great Post Office and Great Staff. read more

Honestly, the first review I have left somewhere and this is well deserved. This Post Office is SO DISRESPECTFUL and has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went in to get my package that was held up there due to it being sent to my rental property address. I gave her all my identification, including both addresses. She came back 15 mins later with the history of the property.... Refused to give me my package, help, and walks away. I had to tell the other employee to call their supervisor. The supervisor came and no wonder why the employees are so entitled! He harshly asked what the matter was. As I told him what his colleague did and presented him with everything that showed he can give me my package; he's shaking with anger, telling me constantly to fix my (nonexistent) attitude towards him, to get out of the Post Office, told me he doesn't have to give me my package, starts stating laws that I know are not true, and started calling the police. I left immediately, called the police explaining to them this escalated altercation just in case. Because, lol I can just have the sender redeliver my package. And, the police officer emphasized this is not the first time. No wonder why the reviews are unacceptable for this Post Office. At the end of the day, to hell with the package, it can be resolved, but the staff clearly needs to be checked. read more

Being a business owner and box holder I go all the time to the Kirkland post office. I'm on a first name basis with the tellers and some from the back. They are always friendly but don't go around lunch time and close to closing because it's packed. However, I have come right at 5:30 and the postal guy held the door for me and let me squeek in with a smile, helped me with my packages and even went and got my mail from my box. Say hi to Hector and Maria. For government workers it's a nice change from the robotic types you usually run into. read more

I've lived in Washington for decades, and this post office has some serious problems. The lines are long due to understaffed on the front end, and the hours are inappropriately short given the size of the city that they serve. But, you've already heard that. I probably experienced this to a far greater degree than most people, because I had the privilege of escaping their tyranny, by moving to Kenmore/Bothell. But, once we were annexed to Kirkland, things became so much worse. =( 1. We now get mail from former home owners. Despite writing the USPS national web site, filling out numerous forms, calling the post master, and visiting in person 3 times, they refuse to deliver the mail to the proper addresses. 2. Despite getting everyone else's mail, when someone sends us a package addressed to "Bothell", it randomly gets returned. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 3. The mail carrier literally wrote on our community mailboxes with a "1" and a "2" in a messy, black sharpie. We called to ask why they did that, and they reluctantly cleaned it as "graffiti control", but said that they were confused about which one was which. This is after nearly 20 years of the Bothell Post office not being confused. They actually wrecked our mailboxes while cleaning it. 4. We now get our neighbor's junk mail. Kirkland rushes their delivery people and instructs them to just jam a neighborhood's junk mail into whichever post box. So, all of our work to get off of junk mail lists is now moot. Again, dealing with this is post office has proven to be a waste of time. 5. When I call them, if it's near their closing time, they answer the phone and hang up so that it stops ringing. Waiting in line, there's a certain anxious vibe that fills the air. You can tell who's been there before, and who's a newbie to dealing with Kirkland Post office, just by body language. Carillon Point. Bothell. You are so lucky to have your own offices! read more

Very unimpressed with this post office and the USPS in general recently. They've lost my mail, delivered it to the wrong address, delivered mail not to me to me, and are generally rude and unhelpful. Just 6 months to a year ago they were doing a far better job than FedEx and UPS. I called to ask why/where a package was that was two days late (5 days after shipping minus a Sunday for 2 day mail), got a follow up call telling me they received it and it was to be delivered the next day. Next day comes, no mail, called them up again and they told me that the package had never arrived and was still in transit from California. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I dropped off a package a week ago and it was NEVER scanned in. I went to the front desk and the older woman was zero help! I called to file a case to have someone look into it and still haven't heard from anyone. I bet they stole it!! They never answer their phone, the line is always long and they are sooooo slow with each customer so you have to wait a good 30-40 minutes before you can even be helped and then you don't even get good customer service. They always have frowns on their faces and are NEVER happy. Do yourself a favor and go to any post office but this one! read more

this is by far the best USPS i've been to. the employees are actually nice and seem like they somewhat enjoy their jobs and they are all very helpful read more

I frequently use the Kirkland location and yes, lines are long, but usually quick. Workers are friendly and helpful, especially so as understaffed as they are. When a back up doesn't move smoothly, often it's not their fault. A lot of customers are not ready at the counter. Some have legitimate questions - MOST hold up the line because they're still signing cards, or closing packages. Packages aren't addressed properly - or at all. Sometimes stuff isn't even in a package. People just bring items and expect free envelopes, free boxes, free tape. Yes, really - even if you only need a little tape - you have to pay for it. Just like if you only need a little gas or a little food. Can't remember ever running into a grocery store and saying, "i just need a little bit of chocolate. Can't I just have some?" Many waste time arguing over buying supplies. Comments like, "I know you sell them, but don't you have one I can have free?" or "But I don't want to PAY for it." are not uncommon. When they learn they have to indeed pay for what they want - most try to stand at the counter and assemble everything. Well, except for when they assume the postal staff should do it for them. If people realize the post office is everyone's; that it's employees are not their personal assistants; and that it is not their personal supply cabinet - a great deal of time will be saved. Unfortunately, since most customers don't behave considerately, the Post Office should take a sterner approach and make people step aside until they are ready. Want faster lines? Actually know the address you are shipping to (yes including the zip code). Gotta make a call to get it? Perhaps there's s a better time to do so then when you step up to the counter. If you can't actually get your item packaged ahead of time & you have to bring or buy your supplies: DON'T STEP UP TO THE COUNTER UNTIL YOUR PACKAGE IS READY. read more

This place is so archaic, they can't even keep track of their own tracking numbers. I would never recommend their service it's a joke.

Ok so here is my explanation for 1 star. This post office is so SLOW!!! I called today 7 times, 7th time someone finally picked up. Can you imagine this? Then, I was "put on hold" because they were trying to locate my package. I was on hold for about 5 min which was not too bad but then the lady came back and said these exact words "It is hard to find anything in here at this time". She was nice about it but man, just dealing with the slow customer service and the front desk is terrible. I have to go there to pick up the package today and I am dreading this because I know I will get stuck there for over an hour with just few people at the counter. It is never quick and like someone said "you have to give yourself A LOT of time when you go there". I am looking forward to not have to deal with this post office although I do not have high hopes for the next one either... read more

I thought the staff was professional and that the post office was well-stocked. I was able to get the international forever stamps here as the Bellevue post office had ran out of those. I really like how the post office has a selection of cards and ready mail packages now. It made shipping so much easier. Now if only we can have other sizes of boxes for priority mail. I wish there is a size between small and medium flat rate box since there are times when the small is too small and the medium just seemed like an overkill. read more

Save your valuable time and go to fedex or UPS. I just spent 20 minutes in line only to be told that they don't have tape and couldn't put the address label on the priority mail box for me. I too have had it with the Kirkland Post Office. This past year, till recently, after talking to the supervisor twice, I was routinely finding various neighbor's mail in my mailbox, and missing items that I was told had been delivered. This included car tabs and prescriptions. And beware of having smaller-sized packages delivered via this post office. Yesterday, (the third time I've had to research what has happened to an expected delivery), I found their online tracking system said the package had been brought out but not delivered...even though multiple other larger ones were brought to my front door that same day...and that a "notice" had been left. WHERE the notice was left remains to be discovered, because it wasn't in my box or at my door. Anyway, the tracking system said I had until the 19th to "reschedule" a delivery, which I did immediately for today, receiving a confirmation saying it would be brought today. Well, it's the end of the day, and no package, either to my mailbox or doorstep. Update: I just went again to the USPS tracking and "reschedule delivery" system and put in the confirmation number I was emailed yesterday...and the system says there's no record of that number...and I copy/pasted the number, so I know it's right. Beyond frustrating! read more

I can't stand if I have to go here. The line is always so long and I try to call and its ALWAYS busy. The people that work there are so rude. I prefer going to the ups store in kirkland I can do everything there that I need from the post office except unfortunately pick up a package read more

This post office fails to deliver packages with full name and address. after one attempt they label it undeliverable and returns to sender. Sender calls multiple times to help with whatever is the problem but the post office doesn't pick up the phone. My girlfriend shows up in person 3 times to help get the package delivered, are promised a call back when package is found but the post office never called. Now 2 weeks has gone since the post office labeled the package undeliverable. I return from travel and show up in person to get my package. I get the supervisor Cindy to come out and she promise to track down package and call me when she has. Next day I get a call that package is not yet found but they continue searching and will call me again next day. The following two days the post office doesn't call me so I show up in person again. This time the supervisor sends out Theo who tells me he is the best at tracking down packages and that he will call or email me with status end of every day. Yesterday I didn't hear from Theo so I'm going down to the post office again this morning. This post office has been delivering packages and mail to my address as expected the past 10 years and then all of a sudden this happens. Another package was also just labeled 'undeliverable' and is being returned to sender according to the tracking info. It has full correct address and I'm afraid I have to go through all of the above again. I will bring this to the post office advocates attention but thought everyone on Yelp should know. read more

EXTREMELY EFFICIENT TODAY! Long lines moving fast and they were fully staffed. Holiday Cards Sent! Thank you!

What a DeJoy it was to find out today that all my mail that was so nicely stuffed into my mailbox included junk mail, items addressed to other people and miscellany. Everything but my prescription glasses. DeJoy's really made improvements. Now I can rely on the post office for a mailbox filled with crap and nothing that I need, want or am waiting for. The fact that the American public can no longer rely on this constitutionally protected entity is sad. A once proud, reliable and honest institution has been whittled down to an almost useless system of mail delivery. I'm not blaming our local carriers, I blame the head of the operation. I have an employee who waited 3 weeks and two days for her paycheck. Not my company before you blame me and not her fault, she hasn't been matriculated into the direct deposit system at the company we work for. I've waited twice as long for prescription meds. Shameful, abusive and intolerable. Did someone steal my mail? Nope, I went directly to my mailbox as soon as the driver pulled away Tuesday September 8th. I took my bounty of recyclables (all letters no hard case or puffy envelope) and deposited all of it in the bin. Checked my email to find that the company who manufactured my glasses said they were "delivered" 9/8. Address was correct as well as all other pertinent info. An added DeJoy, I now get to pay for another pair of glasses and run the risk of them being delivered to someone who with any luck for them has the same astigmatism as me. Kind of a long shot but not impossible. If you have Christmas cards to send this year send them now. And DeJoy to the world.... read more

Like many of the other posters, there was 18 people in line and one worker. Horrible. No one answers the phone. I am attempting to get a package delivered as the incompetent delivery driver deemed it undeliverable. Except that I put my full address in there but oh well, just a part of their job I suppose to NOT read the address. Maybe they should of plugged it into a GPS? Either way, their website is a JOKE. I cannot place an email to Customer Service. Why? Because after filling out my details and tracking number there is no option to continue and actually submit said email. Also, don't bother calling and attempting to use the automated voice option. The bimbo voicing it cuts you off when you're trying to spell out your freaking name. Basically, F you usps. Thanks for once again proving your uselessness. And no, I do not have a speech impediment. So why can't that bimbo understand anything? In case you're wondering yes, I am flipping you off a million times. Thanks to you my item will most likely be returned.
