As a Google Local Guide funnily and accurately wrote in his review of this place, this post office is certainly a mix bag of candies - you never know which days could be good and which days which days could be bad until you walk in. That's the same reason why I rate this place a 3 star (not good and not bad) My recent experience with a USPS staff - Danielle was pretty good. She had a warm smile and great customer manners and the checkout of my mailing service was pretty swift. Worst customer service ever. I come at least once a week and the same woman - tall, pale, reddish brownish hair - has a very nasty attitude. She never greets anyone. Most of the time she'll let her whoever she's working with take lead on register as she sits down talking to them about non-work related things or on her phone as you can see in the photo. It's to the point that I'm going to start going out of my way to go to another location. read more

I could not believe one day I would rate a USPS store but here I am; I went to this place two times to ship some of my products. There are always a Asian women and a white women. I don't know their name but, let me tell you I have never see this lack of customer service before. One time I went and ask them if they take Apple Pay( I forgot my tape), Asian women didn't seem to understand, so I said I would just run to rite aid next door and buy a tape. Guess what the white lady did, she rolled her eyes much and with a snobby tone, said we don't accept Apple Pay. I was a little offended but I was in a rush so I didn't care. Today I came in to ship out my products again, I ask for priority box like always, only the white lady was working, then she said there is no medium priority box and she pointed to a stack to medium priority flats rate boxes and said that's the only priority boxes they have. I said I don't want flat rate I wanted the regular kind, and she said those are the only boxes!!! I didn't know if they ran out or what so I just packed my products with slight suspicion. And guess what happened ! After waited in line, Asian lady came in and checked me out and said, I packed the wrong box and THEN SHE TOOK OUT THE MEDIUM PRIORITY BOXES BEHIND HER COUNTER!!!! I looked at the white lady with anger and she looked at me and said there is no such thing as "medium" priority boxes!!! So when I ask you why don't you tell me that? ?? I almost never write reviews...least about the post office. But be aware This place is terrible. The customer service is terrible, the employee had no idea about the new regulations for international shipping where, the info she gave me was contradictory to their website and the price she quoted wasn't the same. She also snubbed and shamed me for bringing my toddler (secured, in a stroller and under a rain cover) with me. Well...If I wasn't a single parent, I probably rather she stayed home too. will not go again and I advise anyone to avoid it. read more

This can be hit or miss with the type of customer service you get. Some of the people there are extremely helpful and nice, they will answer questions when needed and are genuinely nice when you are nice to them. But there is one woman that works there who is HORRIBLE. She is SO rude and unpleasant that it makes me never want to go back to this post office. It's pretty small inside so the line can get pretty long if it's busy. Sometimes this place is just fine and there are other times, when you get this woman that it is just a crap time. You will know who it is when you walk up with your packages, she sucks. read more

I thought this was a pretty nice post office the first few times I went as all the materials I needed to pack stuff up was fast and there was little to no line and I was able to quietly and quickly pay to mail things. Then I had such a negative experience that I refuse to to back now. I was packing my box to ship and was quite slow (I had surgery recently) but I stayed in a corner so that I was out of the way. A man came in with his service dog to drop off his own package. Once the man left the two women at the counter started loudly talking about how this mans service dog was "obviously fake" because he was able to drive a car (which makes no sense to me). I was directly in their view too and it made me feel very awkward that they felt so comfortable talking like that about a customer with me in the room able to hear. Once I paid for my package and left I was directly next to the door (no one else was around so I was not in the way) and taking a photo of my receipt and then I heard the women loudly talking about how stupid I must be for taking so long. I have never had a piece of mail lost until I mailed from Highland Park Post Office. It was just a simple envelope, so I didn't think I really needed tracking. Nothing of major value, but it was a birthday card and a gift card ($15) inside. My friend never got her mail and when I called to ask about it a woman with a strong accent yelled at me and kept repeating "we can't do anything for you!" Okay, I get it now that you can't do anything when I don't get tracking, but it's still your responsibility to get the mail from point A to point B, especially when I put a return address on it. She wouldn't even listen to when I mailed it off, where I was mailing it to (maybe it was just taking awhile), but no. Just a flat out "I can't do anything for you." With working for a corporation comes the corporate promise, so even if it's not your fault, apologize on behalf of the organization and just say what you have to say nicely. It is clear that this lady does not get it. I guess from now I have to pay extra to write home and preserve the authenticity of a hand-written letter. Thanks for the help, girl! read more

This post office is located right on 27 in the downtown part of Highland Park. It's very tiny and really is only open a limited number of hours. My experiences at this post office have been varied. I've never had to wait in line behind more than 2 or 3 people, so that's a plus. However my experiences with this post office really vary based on which clerk you happen to draw. One time I came in and didn't see anyone at the counter. I called as a result and waited a few minutes for someone to come out. Another time an employee gave me the wrong package entirely. She had no concept of how apartment buildings work and that my address was 95% similar to my neighbor's, yet still a different apartment. Most of the time it's uneventful. The line moves slowly as a result of slow clerks and old people trying to mail things or rookies asking lots of questions. It's not the best post office I've ever been to, but it's certainly not the worst. read more

I walked in with a package and the lady at the counter grabbed it from me and accidentally ripped the label. She proceeded to purposefully rip the whole label off and told me that it was my fault that I didn't tape the label properly. I said ok and asked if I could borrow the tape she had just allowed the customer in-front of me to borrow. She told me no and to get my own tape. I was not only offended at this point but also confused as she was the one who had caused this problem to being with. I had to run across the street to rite aid to buy tape as she didn't even have the courtesy to tell me they sold some in the post office. When I returned she addressed me as "oh it's you again." I noticed another reviewer posted about the same lady I am referring to in a similar situation. I've worked in retail and had bad days before but it really takes more effort to be rude to customers than kind. read more

Quit possibly the worst post office I have ever dealt with. I have been met by rude employees almost every time I have been there. The line at the store is always extremely long. To make it worse, they cannot even deliver mail to the right houses on the street. For packages, on more than one occasion, they have changed package statuses as "delivered" when upon further questioning they finally admitted it was "still on mailman's desk" and not delivered. Why was my package on his desk a day after it's supposed delivery date?? I quickly lost faith in the competence of this post office after moving to Highland Park. read more

This is a horribly run organization, not only are they disorganized but they are also rude. I called a week ago to schedule a passport appointment. They told me to come in on a Monday. I went in with all my documents ready to be mailed, etc., then they told me that "we don't do Mondays." I said are you sure because on the travel.state.gov and your own websites, you list Monday as an option for passports. She just kept saying "we don't do Mondays, we don't do Mondays." I said (out of my curiosity) why? She replied, "we are too busy" as she was eating her chocolates! I looked around the room, there was only one other customer there! Are you sure there's no way you can't take my picture so I can mail the form for a renewal? She said "we don't do Mondays." I asked her for her supervisor's number which I called when I got home and of course, it was a phony number! It just kept on ringing with no voice mail at all. I called the post office back inquiring if they gave me the wrong number or there was an additional number I could reach their supervisor at, they just told me that their website is wrong and that their supervisor "doesn't do Mondays." I am guessing that that somehow means that she doesn't work on Mondays, but who knows? It was such an incredibly rude and strange experience that all I could do was start laughing. So I made an appointment at another post office (one that does Mondays) and was able to finish it all in less than 15 minutes. Was it really worth it High Park Post Office to do that to a paying customer? Just change your websites...Don't take your business here!!! read more

This location has been consistently rude every time I go in but my experience today was the worst. I called two weeks ago to schedule a passport appointment and confirmed the location and the time. I went in for my appointment today and the employee who helped me insisted that I had no appointment. She told me that they never schedule appointments for that time of day (11:45am) and showed me their empty appointment book. Another employee working next to her chimed in and told me that I was wrong about my appointment and told me to go to the administrative office at city hall. They were very unhelpful, extremely rude, and shouted at me. What bothered me the most is not that they didn't write down my appointment, but their appalling customer service. Even if I was wrong about my appointment, that is NEVER an acceptable way to speak to a customer. I called the Kilmer Road location and they were very polite and helpful. The Highland Park location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more
