Went in Saturday morning at 10:30am for another certified send. Last time, it was fast and easy. This time clerk #11 was a miserable moody lady, and not just to me. Both lady in front of me and I she pushed aside to fill out something. I didn't have to last time. Same letter, same place, same certified. When I asked about digital return, thinking I needed, I was told, "you didn't tell me. " My response, "you didn't ask. Prior lobby lady did on if I wanted digital or paper. Her face and mood only got worse. I told her, "you know, you're a pretty lady, but you're not very nice. Your attitude sucks." Other lady who experienced her too, I saw, silently chuckled. Meanwhile, line got longer from her lack of customer service skills. She belongs in the back. Bad day for her? Hates her job? Death in family? I don't know, but she could have done better at hiding it. Just like many do on social media. Cost is second to customer service for me. First was not bad, second horrible! The services given at the counter are fairly reasonable and acceptable. However the behind scenes for "mail-carriers" are overwhelmingly poor quality! My mailbox has been compromised numerous times which I am certain anyone living in this same area has experienced this! There's absolutely no excuse or reason for this post office to withhold anyone's mail from them! I have filed 2 complaints online and have also made a complaint in person. Nothing has been addressed and I am not sure how this is possible let alone legal to begin with!! read more

Ironic how the post office sets our addresses, but if a package is sent thru USPS to our physical address and they leave off the P.O. Box, they will immediately send back. I guess they don't recognize our addresses often appear as insufficient with the P.O. Box even added. DO YOUR JOB.. you're literally adding more work to the entire system instead of looking up a name. read more

Multiple times my package arrives at Hesperia (where I live) then gets sent to random cities like Wrightwood or Adelanto then circles back eventually to Hesperia. This is why the Government is being hacked to pieces. It's bloated, inefficient, and only has complacent ineffective employees. Oh! And the joke of a mail hold. Can't submit request online, won't work. So submit the card in person the next time I went on vacation. They still delivered my mail. They aren't even worthy of 1 star. Horrible customer service! Went in for the " walk in" passport appointment. The sign clearly says walk ins 9am-12pm. The worker with the big puffy yellow hair told me the maximum was reached at 9:08am. She didn't want to explain to me how that was possible 8 minutes after opening. The passport worker was an hour older Hispanic lady who was very close to retiring. She told me she was only taking 13 people in line. I asked where was the sign that says that? She said she takes 15 minutes per person in line. I was number 11 in line and she refused to take me and the person behind me in line, because she didn't write our names on the list. She said we could wait if we liked to see if we could be seen so we waited. She comes back and 10am and says she's not taking me or the people behind me. She had 2 hours to be able to get with us and she decided to cut the line at 10 people. There are no signs stating any of these "rules". People who hate their jobs and hate that they have to work on a Saturday and try to take away from tax payers time and money isn't right. They had a sign saying now hiring so maybe better people can apply and work there and replace the people who are miserable and want to go home early instead of doing their jobs that WE PAY FOR! read more

Hours say 9am, we left at 9:40 after no one came to open the doors to main operating area. There was plenty of people in the building making noise and laughing while the lobby was filled with people waiting for service. Several people knocked on the door to the back to get their attention but they didn't bother to come check, 10 or so people left before we decided we waited long enough. Would have been nice to be notified they wouldn't be operating until a certain time for whatever reason but they didn't care to notify the 20-30 people waiting for help. Went to the Victorville office and was in and out in 2 minutes. We won't be back to the Hesperia location. read more

Lisa has a negative attitude and poor customer service skills. She spoke with entitlement and lacks communication etiquette. Lisa was extremely rude to me. I had a package that was already labeled and had to purchase a label for another package that I was mailing. Lisa asked me to write down the mailing address and come get back in line. I said I could write it down quickly and she told me again to get back in line. However, I was in a hurry and I said here, its ready. Lisa then asked her co-worker if she could refuse service to me because I was not listening to her. Lisa's exact words were, "Shes not listening to me, can I refuse service?" and then she said, "okay, I'm going to lunch" and she threw her hands up in the air and walked away. Her co-worker ended helping me. Lisa came right back to work when she saw her co-worker was helping me. This could have been avoided had she just helped me. Lisa could have helped me in the time that she said I was holding up the line, saying I wasn't listening to her, asking her co-worker if she could refuse service, saying she was going to lunch, walking away. Lisa could have helped me instead of throwing a fit. It took longer to do what she did then it was to help me. Lisa made a scene and then she was talking about me and making comments about me to the customer she was helping. That's when I got upset. Overhearing her talk about me was so insulting and disrespectful. Lisa said to me, "I treat you like you treat me" and I responded with, "I was not disrespectful to you!" and I left. Lisa needs to be retrained on customer service skills. She does not value the customers. read more

Visited about a week ago. Pros: *PO Box area is not open 24/7. This appears to reduce the number of people sleeping/loitering inside. *The parking lot was properly resurfaced and painted. *Some exterior lights are now working that were not. *Wait times at package pick-up door and lobby lines are much shorter. *The people working seem more friendly. Possibly because some supervisors etc., are no longer there. *I didn't see any panhandlers or other people harassing people. Cons: *The exit driveway still needs repairs. It's steep and when exiting in a vehicle lower the ground, the front impacts the street. This has been a problem for many years. Prior complaints have been made. Since the USPS is aware of the issue and hasn't fixed it, the USPS should reimburse for vehicle damage. People should make claims for damage. Maybe it will lead to repairs of the driveway. read more

Recently went to this post office to drop off some packagers and then a mysterious gentlemen came up to me and handed me a package which was about 6ft by 8ft and said happy Easter I didn't know what to think of it all and come to find out there was a dog inside with a sweater, we kept her and she's been with the family ever since. Horrible service. I've been coming here so many times over 14 years and receive the most snottiness, rude ladies at the pick-up window. There's no reason an employee should be rolling their eyes and sighing at people just trying to pick up their mail or packages. On top of that, their unorganized system of retrieving packages is complete garbage. They can take over 20 minutes to come back with your package after taking the Orange slip. This post office is horrible. They do not answer the phone even if their business hours say "open." They do NOT show up for our scheduled pickups which have been the same over a two year period. When they do they are just plain rude. They have no communication and we have tried communicating with them on multiple occasions. I suggest if you need a postal service take your business elsewhere. Postman just shoved this box in our tiny slot and absolutely destroyed the package. The box was too big for the slot and it was clearly forced in as it was not easy to get out. Completely unprofessional and lazy. read more

I was expecting and waiting for a certified letter and was home the entire time that my delivery was expected. The postal truck stopped at my mailbox in front of my house, put mail in and drove away, so I assumed that the certified letter was delayed for whatever reason. So I go outside and get the mail and see a notice that reads that the USPS attempted delivery of my certified letter while I was out. I was not out and my Ring doorbell proves that they never attempted delivery (what a LAZY CARRIER). I wonder how many other people this carrier does this to. With the higher gas prices, this annoys me more than before. So I made a call to the Hesperia Post Office and spoke to a Supervisor and asked if the Postal Service still attempts in person delivery of certified mail, he said they do. I explained the situation and he said the carrier was gone for the day, that was around 2:30pm, but he said that he would send another carrier out with the letter. I was going to give 1 star but I gave an additional star for the Supervisor keeping to his word and rectifying the situation. read more

I used to have unbelievable issues with the Hesperia post office and their employees, but now that Amazon delivers most of my things, and I get most of my bills electronically, the issues have tapered off. In the past, the problems were pretty severe. One time, I complained about a postal worker running into my chain link fence with his white mail truck, because he would always make a u-turn right in front of house. Anyhow, after I complained, I encountered the worst retaliation on the face of the earth. After I complained that the mail truck had hit my chain link fence and damaged it, one of the things they did in retaliation was call the city of Hesperia and complain that I had my trash can out more than 24 hours ahead of time and that it was "in their way". My mailboxes are across the street from my house, mind you, not in front of my house. The city worker who had to come out to my home to respond to their complaint was very apologetic and said that in all his years on the job, he had never heard such bogus BS before, but that every "complaint" had to be responded to. He did not give me a citation for having my Advance Disposal trash can out front of my house. It was not hindering mail delivery, this was all about a mafia-type mentality at this post office that responded to complaints with retaliation at that time. They respond by bullying old ladies. Another thing is, I am allergic to the ink on the newspaper ads that come out weekly. I took my name off the ads with the company that sends them out so that I would not get them delivered to my address anymore. Although I was successful in having my address removed from the list, they then started just jamming in other weekly flyers with random addresses on them and refused to stop delivering them. The smell when I take them out of mailbox does make me sick, but I throw them in the outside trash can immediately and wash my hands asap. Many years later, I still have that dent in my chain link fence from the mail truck. The only good thing that I can say is, my mail carrier now is actually a very nice lady, I like her, but don't know what her name is. When she is off, I know it. I would just say, limit the amount of stuff you have to have delivered to your home by doing everything online and using other carriers when you order stuff. The longer you go without dealing with the USPS the better off you'll be. The clerks inside the post office are hit and miss with their friendliness. It's usually the women who are not friendly, and usually the guy clerks who are nicer to deal with. I don't know why, that's just been my experience. Yes, when I look back over the years and think of some of the terrible problems I've had with this post office, I honestly don't know how I lived through it. I wouldn't open a post office box here because I would not feel safe going into the lobby after hours to retrieve my mail. Hesperia has an unbelievable and out of control mail theft problem, so I got a locking mailbox at home now. It almost seems that thieves follow the truck, and just wait 30 minutes or so and then pull up to the boxes and check them. I've had sensitive mail stolen. I know this is not the post office's fault, just wanted to mention it. I would recommend anyone who has mail theft problems to buy and install a locking mailbox at their home as opposed to opening a post office box at this facility. And also, point a security at your mailbox, so that when your mail is stolen you'll at least have the suspect on video. read more

I have a somewhat new postal carrier that is so incompetent. Last year I went down to the post office to show and return a package that the carrier was too lazy to bring to the door that she broke shoving it in to my mailbox with a lot of other mail. I took a picture of it just so I could show the supervisor there and they were in shock about how much mail and the package that was shoved into the mailbox. They said they were going to talk to the carrier but every since then the wicked witch carrier keeps leaving my mailbox wide open. I don't know how to take care of the situation without having to go back down there. Does anybody have a phone number because the 800 number that I keep calling gives me the runaround and then it hangs up. There is enough mail theft out there and she doesn't need to give an open invitation to steal my mail and packages. I get medication in the mail some of which I haven't received, I'm sure do to her incompetent behavior. I then filled out two lost mail forms online WEEKS ago, and have received no communication, not even an email. The post office really needs to do better. You can clearly tell the new employees from the long tenure employees. The long tenure employees are mad at the world for no reason. I stood there ((2nd person in line)) for 10 mins and watched a female employee be unprofessional and extremely condescending to young male customer. Totally not cool. It was nine people in line and three people went to the back for 15 mins to find 1 piece of mail. No exaggeration!! I was so confused. What was the point? I like this post office! The staff is always friendly. The building is run down. That they could improve upon. Also it's in "old Hesperia." There is not a USPS closer to the 15 freeway or closer inland. Only reason I docked a star. Keep up the good work! read more
