Surprised at how efficient this USPS branch was. And I'm further surprised I'm not being sarcastic. Along with the 2 clerks ringing people up and throwing tags on, they had a guy in there whose only job was to help customers who didn't have proper shipping containers figure out the right size. The clerks were efficient. I think that some may find the clerks to be curt but I appreciated that they got the tags slapped on and I got in and out in less than 5 minutes. 4.5 stars. Hours were a little inconvenient and prices are a little out of hand but that's not really their fault. read more

Until recently I would have given this PO 5 stars, but there is a new clerk ( I am thinking parttime). I have been in twice and he was NOT wearing a face mask or shield either time. I know which car is his. When it is parked there, I have to drive to another PO. This guy is a health threat. The others who work there are top notch, but he should not be working with the public. read more

The worst post office I've ever been to. Only come here out of convenience. Line moves slower than a snail. People who work here exemplify the meaning of "postal". I live two minutes from here and over ten from then North Haven one and hate every time I come here. Never again. The worst part? The people who work here sit perched on their stool and can't even get up to move a package- it's tossed into a bin regardless of fragile or not. I love coming into this location since it is "self serve". But, I was very upset to find that one night, my boyfriend kept telling me that they took the self serve machine (kiosk) out!!! I refused to believe him and then got there and was so mad to see that where the kiosk used to be, was a huge hole in the wall!!! The reason why this gets only 3 stars is because it is missing the machine that makes this place so awesome. I used to be able to go there, buy stamps, print out postage for mail to my sister who lives in another state, and pay with my credit card. Now, when I go in, even if it is to just get some boxes so I can do the shipping at home, it does not have any boxes left (priority mail) And this is a huge let down :( I love shipping via USPS because they are more cost-effective. Trips to the post office are rarely a good time, but this branch is bright and pleasant. There's plenty of easy in/out parking. They open early (7:30 am) and have a 24/7 lobby for PO boxes and dropping letters and small packages (larger than what can fit in the outside box). The line can get long and slow at peak times but that's the case at just about any post office. Plan your trip accordingly and you shouldn't have trouble. read more

So there's a carrier by the name of Gil....real prick. Apparently a few years ago he got bit by a dog and ever since then feels the compelling urge to lecture people along his route about what they should do to their pets. Sure my dogs barked....you did after all rang the doorbell and knocked. But to keep your foot on my door and lecture me not going happen. Then to top it all off he passes a comment about me receiving a letter from the NRA. Then gives me attitude when I request your name. Called the supervisor and was told Gil has some PTSD from dogs but apparently he does have a attitude problem bc as I explained the situation the manager said "Yep that's Gil but he is in the wrong for situation and will be talked too" I then called hartford (which were great to deal with) the gave me a case number and will have the postmaster address issue. Side note: Gil is not my ordinary post carrier my regular guy is great and says to my pets. Gil just needs the golden hand shake and put out to pasture or just have him sort mail and say away from public. Lastly the guy had the audacity to insult my mail bc the top letter was from the NRA. read more

The Mount Carmel branch is one of the nicest post offices I've seen. It has a nice open lobby that has a combination of counter service and automatic machine. They also have the extras: post boxes and retail shipping goods. One of the great recent adds is that the lobby is open 24/7/365 for access to the automatic machine and post boxes. read more

One of the only post offices I know with no self service machines. Only two workers at the front but it's usually just one person. Do not go during the lunch hours - always a crazy line. Typically best to go in the morning hours to drop packages off because it's faster service. read more
