I find that the smaller town Post Office stores are so much more friendly and helpful than the big cities...and this is a great little store, usually I'm mailing stuff here the day after Christmas, and they are a bit busy but they have all I need. There is a person before the line to ask advice and she helps nicely, which is unheard of in a big city! I forgot my wallet in the car and they let me run while they were processing the materials with several people in line probably cursing me, but it didn't hold anything up. read more

After 2 months of working with this post office every single day I can officially say it is the WORST post office I have worked with in 3 years in 2 states. I spend thousands with USPS a month and because of this post office I will NEVER use them again and am switching to UPS. My businesses ship high volume daily and when I first moved to Gilbert I was excited the post office was just blocks away but stunned when I went to introduce myself and drop off orders that not only they didn't offer bulk drop off but I was met with the WORST attitude by an employee. She was negative, unnecessarily confrontational, and absolutely AWFUL to me. Her harsh rude behavior ruined my day but I assumed maybe she was just having a bad day. She tried to push me out, then to refuse my packages because the return label still had my old address above the new address, then to send me to the front. She told me to use the depository and argued when I told that would not work for 40+ boxes. I decided to drop off at another post office for the day and wrote a complaint hoping to find some guidance. Diana the Manager had me contact her and said I could arrange bulk drop off in the back as long as I brought a manifest daily. In 100+ degree weather I went to the back daily, buzzed the buzzer and waited while no way came to speak with me. Multiple times I had to go to the front only for the staff to continue to be confused, rude, and try to push me out and off to someone else. They were never informed of any new system or accommodations to bulk drop off so every day I was met with a confrontation. I did let Diana know about the one employee that was rude to me several times and that I was positive it wasn't just a bad day anymore. Every time I had to interact with her it ruined my day... I dreaded any time I saw her working. Diana did nothing about that, the treatment of the rude employee continued. I started going to the front and just asking for carts to roll out and fill up myself... I didn't mind the extra work as long as I could skip the rude questioning and confrontational attitude of the employees. I dreaded days I needed to pick up priority boxes or plastic crates because I knew it meant a negative experience with an employee. Questioning me if I really needed that many, that they can't give out that many, or I should be aware that other customers need them as well. Every experience with this post office was constantly telling me that they did not want to deal with my volume of shipping. Today was the final straw. I had 3 rolling crates worth of boxes.. an entire truck worth. My husband and I went to the back to ring the buzzer and no one responded after repeatedly hitting it 3 times. We gave up and went to the front which didn't have ONE customer up there. I asked for 3 rolling crates so we could fill up in the front and the woman up front said they cant do that. I told her I do this daily and if she or someone else could please get the rolling crates for me. After a discussion 10 feet away with her and another employee they both came to tell me that I could just bring the packages to the front handful by handful. I hate 'asking for the manager' but told them I (like i've had to repeatedly tell them) that I had arranged bulk drop off shipping with Diana and needed to drop off 80+ boxes today and needed 3 rolling crates. They finally got me the crates. My husband and I filled them up and started rolling them in, as we were filling up the last one, one of the female employees came out and said they couldn't accept them because the weight wasn't correct. I asked what she meant and she said "this box doesn't feel like a pound" and that "this box says 4 pounds but it's clearly not" I told her if there was anything that was an ounce off that my shipping company would charge me the difference but it was absurd to say she couldn't take the entirety of the 3 rolling bins because she suspected 2 packages were ounces off. She refused and said she would only take the orders if we weighed out each one to check they were exact and charge me the difference here at the office. Obviously no one would agree to spend the next 2 hours to do that and spend full price and sacrifice my business shipping discount for 80 packages. My husband and I realized that this was yet again just another tactic to push us out and discourage us from hassling them with our large shipments. ALSO multiple pick up attempts scheduled. Val Vista lied and said attempts were made. Cameras shows no attempt. Same with large deliveries.. no attempts made, just a note in our box to pick up. GOODBYE USPS. You can thank the HORRIBLE rude lazy post office employees and manager at the Val Vista location for costing you thousands of dollars a month. I should have checked these prior to choosing this post office to work with. I recommend cleaning house entirely and hiring a good manager to select motivated employees and teaching them customer service skills... read more

Today was another example of one of our neighbors bringing me my mail found in his mailbox. 2 weeks ago I delivered heart medicine to a neighbor a block away, which she stated she was waiting for. Bad service 3 times gets you yelped. Strike 3 - Recently we changed our address and they are holding a pile of mail. Since we are out of state now, my tenant goes over there to retrieve the mail they are holding (3 weeks now) and they replied "I'm not going in there now to sort through it, it will be mailed to them next week" - OH I see, it takes a month for you to do it? Should have taken 5 days. Strike 2 - They changed our mailbox key and gave us the wrong key. Nobody would help us until my husband had to pull the attitude card. Jeesh! Strike 1 - I received a gift in the mail, box was too big for the mailbox, so they kept it at the post office, no note, no drop off, nuthin'. I had to go track it down, there it was sitting there waiting... for someone... to deliver it. A week they had it. read more

I had a good experience at this Post Office. I came in to pick up a package that they had tried to deliver to my door. I must not have been home, and they needed my signature, so they took it back to the Post Office. I came in about 30 minutes before they closed. I expected to wait a really long time, but I did not have to. They had a woman doing triage in the line. When she got to me and found out that I was just picking up a package, she went in the back and got my package right away. read more

This post office has some of the WORST parking ever. There is never enough parking, so I avoid this one when I can. It serves as the main post office for zip code 85296 so everyone who has to pick up mail goes here. The staff is friendly and helpful. There have Automated Postal Centers here for automated services if you don't want to wait in line. read more

I recently moved and had a package get lost in the process of delivery. After talking to my complex and a different USPS location, I was directed to this location as it is my carriers main hub. The manager was incredibly helpful in locating my package and clarifying with me what had happened. I was expecting a bad experience, but I was thoroughly impressed with their service and ability to relay information back to me in a timely manner. The manager even took the time to call me upon my carrier arriving back at the office to let me know that he did have my package and set up a redelivery for me. Thank you! read more

I'm annoyed. I have scheduled 4 packages to be picked up this week. 2 on Thursday, 2 today - to save me time and the stress of bringing my 2year old and 6 month old to wait in the line. Guess how many packages have been picked up? ZERO. The supervisor on Thursday apologized and said that it's because he has 30 new drivers and a 1/3 of his routes are have trainees on them. OK. Fine. Then he told me it wouldn't happen again. Silly me, I believed him. So today, I get home after the post office is closed and our mail has been delivered. The packages are still on the front step waiting to be picked up. Now, since they were scheduled to be picked up/mailed today, my customers have received USPS e-mails stating their packages were delivered today. Now they will be later than anticipated because I have to wait until Monday and hope I can get there before they close to mail them. If you aren't going to follow through with scheduled pick-ups, then you need to remove the option off the website. When you "check availability" it should just say "unavailable". Unavailable is totally fine. It's saying you do it and then you don't that is NOT ok. read more

As far as Post Offices go, this one is pretty good. During the week they are usually busy; I suspect that is because, there are a lot of small business owners that utilize the services here. Be prepared to stand in line, but other than that, this is a great place. read more

Best postal service office I have ever been to. Place was impeccably clean. And while people was waiting in line the manager himself came outside and started answering questions and helping everyone. He also took the time to explain how the self service station works so for future reference if the office was closed we could always utilize it or even then instead of waiting in line. Between my wife and I, we've lived in 14 zip codes since childhood, and never have we even dreamed of writing a review for a USPS - why would you, you can't shop around! But this post office is the worst of those 14 by far! We have the issues that so many do, with mis-delivered, returned-to-sender, or lost mail. And the clusters in our development have the outgoing bins blocked off so we can't even mail letters conveniently. But most recently this location did not even follow the Federal guidelines for package delivery, which resulted in both my wife and I having to take time off of work. And the root cause was not the postal carrier or the desk clerks, but the supervisor AND the Gilbert Postmaster who were refusing to follow published guidelines. It has gotten to the point where we had to finally call the USPS in Washington, DC and file a complaint. This was promptly marked as 'closed' by the Gilbert postmaster without him even calling me, so I have now escalated it to "Customer Relations". Not that you can do much about your own mail delivery, but when possible I recommend you try another location. And if you have the slightest inconvenience or issue, I urge you to call 1-800-ASK-USPS. They are very friendly and maybe with enough complaints about this miserable location, we can get a new Postmaster, instead of the power-hungry misanthrope that currently has the job. read more

I would like to thank Letisha Finnell for her assistance helping me get a package back that I had mailed to Scotland on be August 21st. It had been held in customs by the Royal Mail for 2 months, then they sent it back to me early last week. Tracking showed it had finally arrived in Phoenix, then it was sent to LA, then back to Phoenix, then again to LA. Letisha was able to get it diverted back to Phoenix and I received it on Monday. I have encountered some of the rudest postal staff here. Hersha truly represented the stereotypical postal worker. She was rude, discriminatory, and unprofessional. If I could pay everything online I would to avoid the post office! I sent out my HOA payment a week before it was due, well went to get my mail on the 21st and come to find out the post office had sent it back saying I had the wrong address, but I triple check the address I wrote down and compare the one on the envelope and it was exactly the same! So took it back the next day and ask them what was wrong with it and why it got sent back, the lady said nothing is wrong with it and she didn't know why it got sent back, when ask if they are going to pay the late fee that's going to get charge for my HOA, she said nothing we can do. My issue is with the mail delivery to the group mailboxes in my neighborhood - Chaparral Estates. How difficult is it to put the correctly addressed mail in the correct mailbox? Luckily I have honest and considerate neighbors who bring my mail to my house when it goes in the wrong address box. What happens when an important piece of mail is delivered to the wrong address and that person doesn't bring it to the right house? It shouldn't be hard to get it right and its not expecting too much to get my mail delivered to me. Who do I complain to? I tried calling and no answer. I looked for an email address - nothing. I usually dont write a review here but today was the limit on this place. I went here to pick up a parcel and the teller told me they could not find it. So i asked politely if i can just wait until they can find it because it was a pretty important package. Instead she resisted and told me thag there are other costumers waiting and i just have to go home and wait for them to find my package. Mind you i have a long way drive home and there was two other tellers and not a whole lot of customers. Half way home they called me and said they found my package. I mailed a birthday card and a bottle of conditioner to my sister in law in California. The card was removed from the box and shipped on its own to my sister in law. Somehow the flat rate box I paid for and the conditioner disappeared and was never delivered. I have reason to believe that the clerk at the post office stole the items as she refused to tape the box up in front of me. When I asked her to do so she told me that she would do it later. Then low and behold the items never showed up. I spoke with a supervisor Diane today at the post office and advised of my concerns and issues I experienced. She proceeded to come up with several excuses as to why the items were not delivered and they all places blame upon me. She took zero responsibility for the situation and completely ignored my concerns. She advised me that I MAY receive a phone call in ten business days from their Atlanta office advising me if they have found the product I shipped, or didn't find it. When I asked what happened if they don't find it she advised me I would then need to come back in to file a claim. Diane placed all of the responsibility on myself and offered no follow up or investigation on her end. She completely ignored my concern that she item had been stolen and made no attempt to fix the poor customer service I had experienced at her post office. She showed her inability to supervise today and showed no concern for the feeling of her customer. I cannot believe she is a supervisor and have asked that her manager or Post Master contact me directly. read more

Don't waste your time here. Most of the employees DO NOT CARE about the individual customer. They are just going through the motions like robots. Have a special circumstance. Tough. If you don't fit a specific guideline, they'll immediately right you off. Go to another USPS. You will most likely have a better chance of finding real human beings there. The only thing this location has going, is the lady who looks like Paula Dean. She tried her very best but was held back by the supervisor. So lately I've been having mail NOT being delivered to me. 2 debit cards and 2 checks have not shown up to my address. when I called in I was told that they would "monitor" the situation but nothing could be done about the mail I have already lost. The Higley post office has got to be one of the most outdated post offices in the United States. No self help vending machines. The lines are always soo long for service. Diana/Diane was extremely unhelpful. No sense of urgency. No apologies. She did not offer any kind of help and had the attitude of not caring about my issue. HORRIBLE customer service. I have no idea how she can possibly be a supervisor. I have been in customer service for 18 years and I would have been fired if I was anything like her. I tracked my package and it was delivered yesterday to the large parcel lock box. However, I can't access the parcel lock box because my mailbox lock was changed!! My husband went to the post office this morning to find out what happened and they said that they did not know because there was not an order request for the lock to be changed. The clerk referred my husband to Diana who was completely put out by his inquiry to what happened and for it to get resolved. She took our mailbox key and said that she would put in a service request. My husband gave me her phone number and I called today to ask when this would be fixed because I need my mail. She said the SOONEST and emphasized SOONEST would be Tuesday because the locksmith doesn't work on the weekend and Monday is a holiday. She stated that perhaps a neighbor of ours had their lock changed and that ours was accidentally changed too. I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe this to be the case because about half of the other mailboxes key hole was also closed/different from the others. I advised her of this and she had nothing to say. I can't imagine that there haven't been other complaints or requests from my neighbors not being able to get into their mailboxes. Her advice was for me to write a note and tape it to my mailbox tomorrow to see if MAYBE the carrier would retrieve my package out of the parcel and deliver to my house. I don't understand how there isn't a process in place where she can communicate to my carrier and request that a carrier can retrieve my package. My lock was changed WITHOUT my authorization. SOMEONE needs to come out and resolve this ASAP. Make an exception, have someone take an extra 30 minutes out of their day and unlock my mailbox. There can't possibly be ONLY ONE KEY that ONLY MY CARRIER has. This is the most absurd thing ever. I will not stop escalating my issue. I'm trying to call the 800# and of course there is an HOUR long wait to talk with a representative. The US postal service is worthless. read more

There was 2 of us in the front of the line this morning we were told " you 2, we do not have your packages. They did not get sent over. I said I was home all day yesterday and I have dogs no one knocked on my door. Her reply was I do not care." My response was to bad you have worked here so long you do not care."
