I can only speak from my personal experience, but this location exceeded my expectations. It's not my usual spot, but because my regular location was so busy, I decided to give this one a try--and I'm glad I did. The parking here is more convenient with plenty of spaces. STAMP OF DISAPPROVAL Came to send a package out of state and wanted to know how much it cost. I hardly ever ship anything so needed some info before I make my decision for shipping. I got there right when they opened. I was the first in line and only 1 other person being helped next to me. I asked the clerk how much it would cost to ship my package (didn't write the address on the package yet) She replied, "You must write address on package" I said, " I have the address. Can you tell me how much it would cost?" She repeated, "Address must be on package" No pens at the front desk so I went out to my car to use a pen to write it on. By the time I came back in, literally within 2 minutes, there were now 10 people in front of me and waiting in line. How?????? I finally got to desk to the same clerk. She asked, do you want "priority or the cheapest?" I said, 'the cheapest' She took the package, started typing stuff and after long silence I asked "how much is it?" She replies, "I don't know yet". She continued to afix lables and what not. I am waiting and the Debit PINPAD finally comes up. The clerk just stares at me without a word. Good thing the PINpad said the amount. I paid with a card she asked me if I want a receipt. Took it and left. I get it. You are just there to do a job and collect a check, but dang, if you put just a little effort it could actually make your job less stressful by not stressing the customers. read more

Usually I dread most visits to any Post Office -- as it seems many others do -- but all my visits here have been quite tolerable. I've dealt with several different employees here -- often repeat faces -- and they have all been patient, knowledgeable and thorough when assisting me; now this is similarly frustrating if you're waiting in line, because this non-rushed approach means the line forms fast when you might have walked in when there were no customers inside. This is an overall small location - tiny parking lot, two attendants (hopefully!), and one self-help kiosk; this Post Office, along with the Circle K at Gilbert/Juniper are remnants of "Old Gilbert," if you will, when the town was a fraction of its' size. Because of their locations and the amount of customers they bring, they feel like two of the smallest, busiest businesses in Gilbert - that's not to say that they don't have some hustle, but it does make them look like children who never got their growth spurt. read more

This was quite a crowded place with the pandemic, with a line out the door, but it went pretty quick on the weekend with 3 people working. The workers are very to-the-point and borderline terse but they know they have to keep moving. I was unable to resolve issues of finding a package that was not delivered, decreasing faith in USPS (it was later delivered 1.5 weeks after they said it was delivered without explanation. Stressful to try to keep them happy but at least they keep it moving. read more

Mailbox key no longer works in my mailbox. First postman says he'll put in a work order. Doesn't do it. Second postman says you have to call. No one answers at multiple times over multiple days. We go inside the post office and first person says we need an SRP bill. Leave and come back. Second person says they do not accept SRP, only mortgage. And if you don't being in the mailbox key they'll charge $48 to have it rekeyed. The absolute nonsense of misinformation and runaround over a simple request is utterly ridiculous. Please be prepared if this happens to you. And you may still end up needing something else they didn't tell you originally. read more

I would say this is an average post office, which it is, but this one has something the PO at Palo Verde & Val Vista does not: a drive-up mailbox. It's just a tiny but farther for me to drive, but that in and of itself is worth it. This PO has an APC (Automated Postal Center) inside. It's worked well every time except tonight...someone's flat Priority Mail package was lodged in awkwardly and wouldn't let anymore packages be dumped inside. I used the APC to pay for postage, but then had to take my packages to the Palo Verde & Val Vista office anyway and drop them there. I'll still come to this PO and will update my review if and when I ever need to deal with the office personnel. read more

Walked right in, no line, no one lobby and the agent took me right a way. This never happens as it's a busy post office. Agent said that ever once in a while it is empty like now. A few of the desk workers deserve 5 stars our delivery person -10 stars awful , rude , delivers wrong mail, holds mail out of spite when you call her on it. She even said my dogs tried to attack her and I received a letter saying that they couldn't deliver packages to my door anymore but one of the biggest complaints from several of my neighbors Vis she refuses to deliver the packages to doors and has you go pick up yourself. This post office must have recently gotten new management because they refuse to deliver to apartment communities, not even attempting to deliver to the leasing office anymore. I ordered several items from a company I have ordered from many times in the past and I had always had them delivered directly to my door. Now, ever since January, I've had to go out of my way to pick up my packages. They're open during the general hours just about everyone works so it's near impossible to actually pick up a package. I called management and they told me they simply don't deliver in an apartment community (despite that not being the case the entirety of last year apparently) and will see it and immediately return it to this location. Guess those of us who live in anything but a house are screwed. 0/10. I would never come here again if I could. read more

Don't go here. Not unless you want to be spoken to disrespectfully & have a negative interaction with the lady who wears glasses, has short boy haircut, a hint of an accent, and no visible name tag. She was rude right from the start. I apologized for upsetting her which caused her to bark that she "wasn't upset" and proceed to degrade my attempt to ship a box bc I taped a piece of paper with the address & return address. Shocker! I've shopped a box before but if she "preferred" it a certain way, that is fine. I am happy to comply. I would prefer kindness & courtesy. I kindly stepped out of line to let the next person go, made the changes she barked at me to make and took my business down the street to Val Vista location. I don't usually make negative reviews. Kindness matters. But perhaps management needs to know about this person (women working at 10am on 11/10) bc there's no need to speak to people in the manner she uses. read more

I used to feel bad that the post office got bad raps. Not after today. I went in to get a new mailbox lock since I lost my mail key. I had checked the website about doing this and learned that it would be $39.99 to do do. Fair enough. When I approached the lady with the dark, shoulder-length hair, and explained what I needed to do, she told me it would be $40 and I need to show proof that I live there. It never said this on the website ("I don't know about that.", she said). So, my trip was wasted, unless I had proof. She said "Do you have a mortgage? Then bring the papers. Do you have homeowner's insurance?" I replied that I did. She then said, "Do you have your policy with you?" ????????????????? Do I look like I carry that around with me ??? Seriously?????? I understand the need to 'prove' that you own the box you are inquiring about. But that information should have been included on the website so that homeowners don't waste a trip. I had to drive home, find a mortgage statement and go back. The staff here is hit and miss. Sometimes, you luck out and get someone who is half-way personable and helpful; such as the gentleman who helped me on my return visit. I called the post office explaining that my mailman is usually here at 11 am, now it was towards the end of the day and he still hadn't came by so I was concerned on what was going on. Gail had the worst attitude over the phone and told me "well your area is 2nd on the list so perhaps you did not get any mail today because you don't have any.." She then thought she put me on hold and proceeded to talk rudely about me to her coworker saying "this lady is irritated but really she probably doesn't have any mail" What??? I had nicely asked her what was going on and now I AM irritated because Gail is making it seem like what I am asking her is so absurd when it is not absurd. I can tell that NO ONE got their mail today because the mail boxes at my complex all still have the parcel keys intact waiting to be retrieved by the mailman. To top it off, when Gail thought she put me on hold, I heard her walkie the mailman asking if he had covered my area yet and he said no and I heard her say "oh? why not? ok it's fine haha I guess people just get irate when they don't get their packages immediately". So in the end, there was no need for Gail's attitude because I did have mail and the mailman was running extremely behind. Also Gail FYI I have every right to be questioning where my mail is when I am waiting for a paycheck and the bank I needed to cash it into is now closed. read more

The woman (short greyish hair around 5'4) helping me at the front desk was incredibly rude to say the least. Not only was she not helpful in anyway, but she made my first experience mailing a package very stressful. I didn't know where to buy the tape or which labels to use and when I asked for help, she answered back in a very negative tone as if annoyed by my simple questions. When I finally prepared my package for shipping and got back in line after trying to figure out everything myself... she raised her voice at me because I chose the wrong label... when I had ZERO help finding the correct one. I asked her if I could quickly write a new one so that I didn't have to get back in line and she sighed heavily. I quickly wrote the to and from address and told her she could check me out while she waited 10 seconds for me to write a new one and she just ignored me and waited for me to finish. It was the worst and the last experience I hope to ever have at a USPS office ever again. read more

Twice, not once, this center lost my certified package from the same sender ! It felt awkward taking the missed delivery notice to this location multiple times and being told that they're unable to locate the package. Contacting their management (Jack?) was not helpful as he's very unresponsive. If you can, stay away from this location. read more

I thought out of curiosity, I would go to this location on the way home instead of going out of my way for a 5 star review post office. This place was pretty nice - and the person who helped me behind the counter was very polite and considerate of my packages. I was helped faster than any other post office I've ever been to. The only reason why I didn't give it an additional star is that when I had gone there, some of the shipping boxes weren't supplied out on the floor to use, which wasn't a big deal when I needed to ask for another. Also the parking lot situation is hard to maneuver during rush hour, but when it comes down to service, it was great. Don't let other bad reviews persuade you to drive elsewhere. read more

If you live in Gilbert and are expecting a package that is too large to fit in box. I suggest you sit outside on your porch and wait because if you don't you will not receive your package. I have ring the door bell, at 10:19am you can see me come home. At 10:26am their carrier dropped my large package right infront of the door. The post office is not responable because it was "delivered". So I will be letting everyone know if you want to receive your package you better go with fedex, or ups they seem to have commom sense to ring the bell as well as hide package behind pillars. Wish I could put NO stars! Must be a prerequisite to be a rude unhelpful bit**. Their online info says they close at 5. Actually close at 4:30. I walk in at 4:35 and am told they are closed. I tell them all I have to do is pick up a package and am told again they are closed and can't just give me the package sitting behind the counter. I am then told how they have closed at 4:30 since July 1st and must be living under a rock not to know this it having been like this an entire three weeks. No wonder nobody likes the post office. I get my notice to pick up my package, I go in the afternoon around 4pm and they tell me they never brought it over from their other location. Chris the counter guy gave no other help or options. Seems they can just mess with ones time. Now this is the second time this has happen I spoke with Wendy the manager last time and tried to get ahold of her on this second time with no success. It is bad enough that a note has to be put on my box to make sure the correct mail is put in the correct box now when I get my notice on register mail if it say pick up in the 14th they really mean the 15th. Sorry incompetence at it best and messing with my personal items. Maybe monkeys can do better or having the postal inspector check would be good.
