Mailing postcards in Des Moines, Washington... I really wanted my postcards to have a Washington State postmark because I got the postcards in Seattle. LOL! My niece didn't know where the closest Post Office was. We thought that we should go to one on the way to Portland, Oregon (headed south), so we looked at a map... This location had many open parking spaces for a Saturday morning. It was a quick deposit into the drop slot and we were on our way... There was hardly any traffic, too! Thank you! read more

They don't answer the phone. The mail carrier marks packages delivered that are not delivered. No one seems to care. The national toll free customer service line is no help either. Not good. It's too bad USPS is the only affordable way to ship. read more

The mail lady that delivers the mail from this specific post office lies on her routes and started marking my packages as delivery attempted when she NEVER actually attempts to deliver the mail. They pick and choose when to deliver whatever mail for what ever reason. Every single person, except Nigel always brush off service or any type of help. When I moved in, there were no issues other than the fact that I kept receiving mail from 9 different people that were PREVIOUS owners. Well after catching her while on her route delivering to my address I ran up to her carrier and explained that we are the new tenants. She asked me the names that are currently resting there, had me write it down and everything so that it would be noted. Even still this post office is so lazy into doing any work thoroughly where they just continue to fill up my mailbox with people that no longer live there. Now that they have filled it up completely they are refusing to deliver any mail with my name on it but continues to deliver the ones that don't live there. None of it makes sense. It feels petty. Every employer there is rude and seems like they hate their job. They are no help whatsoever. Even when I first moved in I did a change of address online, except I wasn't able to verify my identity online so I was asked through email to go in person to verify my identity with the barcode given to me. When I went in to do so the employee literally shooed me away and said to do it online and that she can't help me and moved right in to the next person. EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE PICK AND CHOOSES WHO OR WHAT SERVICE THEY WOULD LIKE TO HELP WITH WHEN THEY ARE WORKING. The rudest most unprofessional government workers I have ever dealt with in my life! Now the mol lady hates me and I get to recieve mail that isn't for me and the mark it as vacant or attempted delivery when neither is true. Not honest workers and I'm sad to say I do not trust them with any of my mail. If anyone knows of how to go through another usps but in my area please god help me because I am getting no help whatsoever from anyone this at works at this location. I just want my mail and not hundreds of mail to fill up my box from 9 other people that no longer live there. Please help me USPS I beg you because this is the most frustrating anyone should have to deal with after working from 5am to 4 pm. read more

Such a bad experience :( I've been using this post office for about 9 months. I run a small business and send out 50 small packages multiple times a week. Every time I walk in it's extremely clear I am ruining these people's day by simply coming into the establishment and dropping off prelabeled packages. I often have a whole car load and they have asked me to come in the back so I have tried to do that but every other time they tell me to come in the front or call but they never answer the phone. It has become such a hassle and negative experience for me to use this location I drive all the way to burien or to the one on pacific highway now even though this is the closest to my home . They don't offer my address postal package pickup and they are so rude and disorganized about large shipments when I'm bringing them in. read more

Absolutely wonderful customer service at this post office! The staff members are so helpful and kind. They make it a pleasure to run an errand. read more

Di at the front desk was unbelievably rude. Ive had multiple issues here regarding my mail being sent all over the place the first 2 months of service after paying $150+ for six months. I wanted to be sure i was filling out the forwarding address form correctly and she got impatient and scoffed at me while waving her hand in the air with annoyance then walking away. Thanks to Marie being so kind and taking the time to go over it with me. How can one simple question annoy someone so much? I will never give USPS another penny. read more

I am surprised by all of the bad reviews as I frequent this post office a few times a week and always have a great experience. I am a very avid online shopper and do lots of returns and also run a business and ship things out frequently. I use this post office location exclusively to ship out all items for my business and have never had anything lost. I did have a return get lost but they were great about finding it and rerouting it back to its destination. I don't really use the front desk but they usually say hello and ask how I'm doing. I'm so glad this place is close to my house because I love using this post office location over others. read more

Needed stamps a couples days after the holiday rush. All window were opened which was great. I liked the display of stamps on hand inside the picture frame on wall makes things much easier. Also friendly postal workers. Thumbs up nice customer service. Your essential. read more

I use this post office frequently. I find the staff always pleasant and easy be around! They are fast and smiling. We had to get a post office box after multiple thefts of our mailbox. I highly recommend this office and will go out of my way to go here! read more

No one is ever friendly here. I came in to just drop off a package. I needed one single piece of tape to secure the fold in tab. The lady behind the counter said "we don't give out tape", even an older woman in line said "she just needs a single piece of tape". I worked in an "essential" service for 5 years it's not hard to provide essential services while also caring for your customers. Do better! read more

The staff is always extra friendly and helpful at this location. I go out of my way to visit this post office even though there is another location closer to my house. This time, however, they really went above and beyond. I mailed a package 10 days before Christmas to my daughter in Virginia. It still hasn't gotten there and I misplaced the receipt with the tracking number on it. The wonderful staff spent a long time assisting me and searching for the information I needed. Two visits and three staff people later, they found it and I am so grateful! read more

Very rude staff. I went to ship an item and one woman working there rushed me, cut me off while I was talking, and snatched things out of my hand and said she had a line so she had to hurry. This was interesting to me because I had been waiting in line like everybody else forever and she had been taking her sweet time with the man she was with in front of me. Horrible customer service read more

This is the worst delivery service ever. They mis-delivered my package and then had me call 3 different useless numbers which never got a resolution. read more

This place sucks I got a package delivered here and they don't know where it is it was supposed to be here 2 days ago and there telling me I have to wait 3 more days for something that was supposed to be delivered next day for sure and they will not get my service anymore read more

Always a terrible experience when getting mail through usps. They don't even try to deliver packages that require a signature

I am updating my review because I have had a better experience with this post office in the last year. Anytime I go into the office I am helped and there have been no issues sending any packages and they have helped me secure my packages better with their tape without hassling me or charging me extra. Our mail carrier Kelvin has been great lately as well. He has been pleasant and nice whenever he comes into our office and even delivered a large package we ordered from Amazon that wouldn't fit in the locker below our mailboxes. I really appreciated that. I have had no issues with my personal or business mail other than getting other peoples mail occasionally but that's not the post office's fault it's the senders. Things are looking up for this location! read more

Three weeks ago I had to get a PO Box and that was a horrid experience. I checked my mail today and I only had one piece of mail. I waited my turn to speak with someone at the counter and she told me I had to wait until Monday to speak with someone. They obviously did not process my forwarding request which was done the same day I got my PO box. I have three weeks of mail that has disappeared probably never to be found again. This is the organization we trusted to deliver our votes. They are inept. read more

Soo last Thursday I was sitting in my car and the post office guy pulls up. So I think to myself my package must be here. Ding a text comes through your package has been delivered. I go to the mailbox no package!!! I went down to the office and the manager stated that she would track my package for me. I get back home about 30 minutes later my package is sitting on the front door step and I received another delivery text. Today I have been trying to call this same post office and file a complaint because now my other package has been missing for now over a month and no one seems to know anything. My guess is the mail carrier decided to keep it for themselves. Screw This post office if I could give them a zero I would!!! I just ordered a camera so I will catch you!!! read more

Not a long wait; but people trying to speak with supervisor at other window had to keep ringing the bell. There wasnt a designated drop off area. Lady told me I can toss it over the counter. Sorry but I am mailing hundreds of dollars of merchandise to customers so I need to make sure its scanned. The women working the counter were friendly. It was a clean USPS location and had all the typical amenities. There was even a side area to wrap, package and prep stuff instead of being in the way. Sometimes these locations are hit and miss. I just try to be friendly because I dont want to risk making these people mad. read more

By far the WORST customer service I have ever had in my life. The mail man left me a "sorry we missed you" note with the 2003 S 216th st address on the back. I went to the address and the lady was VERY rude and said my package was not there. The only thing asked was her to try to check if it was there. She didn't even go to the back, she was just like "I checked. It's not here" even though I literally watched her and she did not check. Then she proceeded with " bye bye, you can go now. NEXT" in a very rude manner. I didn't get her name but she's is an older Asian lady trying to look young. I don't understand, by that age she should have learned some customer service credit skills by now. read more

Bad manner They think the customers are a group of beggars. They treat us without any respect at all. I came in to pickup a baggage but nobody answer the bell . I didn't say a word, suddenly the lady at the cashier screamed at me that she can't work two lines. If she just tell me in a normal voice that please wait in line and I will help you, that would be nice. I guess they are not supposed to be nice. It needs to be privatized like the DMV. read more

For such a long time we have been "spoiled" by a really attentive and well scheduled postman, named Jose. He is now retired and our mail comes early in the morning or even after dark. There is no longer a way to do things, like shopping and depending on the mail, as we arrive back home. The time when you could almost set your clock by the mailman is gone now, and our newest delivery of mail is, in a word, preposterous. We have had such good service with this post office over many years (40 now), and do not understand what has changed. The outstanding service we have gotten is all that keeps me from writing a really bad review here. One hope, here, is that our Postmaster will see this and look for improvements. We will, however, continue to miss Jose. Dependable, reliable service is what we do expect, and now only hope for. Looking forward to doing a five star review one day. read more

This is the WORST office!! The mail person is constantly holding or sending back my mail. I'm missing packages. They keep changing my mailbox info (the sheet that says who lives at each address). Every 3 months I get a new card asking to update resident names. And when you go into the location, they're rude. Too busy talking to each other while people are standing in line. They have a crappy attitude. They can never seem to find my mail. I've asked to speak with the supervisor numerous times, they they're never there or they "just" left for the day. One of my dear friends is a USPS employee, and I can promise you... I have never had ANY problems when he was my mailman. He even told me Des Moines USPS has a LOT of complaints. They're the WORST! read more

I told them in March I switched my address and I haven't gotten any mail since I went in and they had me switch my address in person it's pissing me and my partner off because I get emails about all mail coming in and it's only his mail nothing with my name on it and I'm getting really mad that nothing is coming through and I need to figure out why and I just called twice I'm on phone waiting for an answer as I type this and I'm ready to blow up I live a two minute drive from them and all I get is timing and ringing and ringing and finally it hangs up what the actual fuck no reason why people should be stealing a almost 21 year old mail or holding it captive from me read more

If your looking for convenience in the packing process, this place has the supplies, but not the customer service. We bought packing tape, used the one piece we needed and tried to leave the rest for the next guy to use. The workers took the tape, even after I said it was for the rest of their customers. Guess they just want people to buy as much tape as possible. read more

This is the second time my family has had issue with this post office. The first was my husband makes an appointment for his passport. Worker decided to take lunch and wasn't there. His appointment was on the books. Employee was not. He rescheduled and finally got it done. Today I take my son to same office for his passport. The employee took the day off. I was shown the book after I asked to reschedule for later this week. I was there. My phone number was there. No one bothered to call me to reschedule- I took time to do this. What if we had to have it done this week? We were traveling soon? Nope. Completely booked. I have made an appointment elsewhere to have the passport handled. The first time could have been a fluke. Twice now means the accountability at that post office is non existent. I recommend anywhere else until they get a new manager that hold its employees to some standard of service and common courtesy. The person in charge of the passports should be replaced ASAP as well. read more

Jennifer was very friendly and greeted me with a smile. Usually got to Auburn cause it's close to my house but there customer service is very rude. Every time I drop packages off for my business there the Asian lady is rude. By far Desmoines has the best service I seen in a long time. read more

I don't understand what people mean by the low stars, but I went in around 2 o'clock on a Tuesday and there wasn't that long of a wait. The two ladies up front were really nice. I went in to send 80 cards. Not bad for 55¢ per envelope. I would definitely go to this one over any other ones in the Seatac-Auburn area. The only thing I saw that I didn't like was a spider just crawling away on the floor lmao but other than that, great customer service. My cards got to their location within the 3 days! read more

My mail always gets lost and put on hold at this post office... i cant rely on usps to deliver my mail....

I'm very surprised that this PO has such a low Yelp rating. I have been going to this PO for about three years now and have had nothing but good experiences. I got a passport here, I've had packages sent and received from other countries, and I've gone through multiple Christmases with all the shopping happening through this post office. The people who work there actually care about their jobs and helping the public. I wish there was another star that I could give this place. read more

Have been in this office a few times and every time I go it's crazy busy with 1 person helping.. you need to hire more people or get a self serve stations or 2 I was there for 40 min in line waiting to get 2 stamps.. when one of the ladies helping closed and literally said "was that all the passports appointments I'm going to finished them up right now so we don't stay late" instead of helping the line that was up to the door she decided to catch up on something that I'm sure she could do once they close and don't have anyone waiting.. and not only that the one that was open was so rude i don't remember her name but she had a horrible attitude I have never wrote a review on yelp before but this made me soo mad.. never going back to this postal office read more

Horrible usps location. The line is ridiculous and today I dealt with an extremely rude woman who works there. She was completely unprofessional, it was pretty shocking. I will not be back to this location again. read more

I was trying to apply for a passport when me and my mom realized we had to call to make an appointment. So we asked the clerk for clarification and she confirmed it. My mom went off to the side and called the number multiple times because no one was answering. Then you could hear the phone in the back ringing and ringing and the clerk ignored it along with the other workers and did not inform us at all if they would be available or not. The next week we got our passports done at the post office in westwood and the clerk was much more friendly. Terrible customer service, would never go there again. read more
