I receive multiple packages every day. Every day for about the last 10 years, I check my packages in as they arrive. FOUR times in the past 2 weeks, I have had packages that are scanned as "Delivered", but they were never delivered. Trying to get any help from them is futile. If they do manage to muster up a response, it goes something like "We looked, couldn't find it, sorry." Someone is straight up stealing my stuff and scanning the tracking number as delivered. If you own a small business, or send important things thru the mail, do yourself a favor and AVOID having it go thru Kent, WA. At least 1 person there is a thief. They will take your sh*t. Time to get a PO Box that is not in Kent. read more

Post office service is terrible. Our mail does not come on a daily basis. Orders are not delivered on time. I had a certified letter sent to our address. As I tracked the package I got an notification that the packages was delievered and left with a person. I was in my office at the time of the delivery and the mail person would not get out of the truck to bring the cerified letter to the door. Instead he/she lied about what they did with it. I was trying to get a little bit of information on a package that was coming to me. I was asked by the main customer service number to call this office directly and ask for the carrier supervisor. We had already received our mail at my place of employment and I was trying to find out if there is a 2nd truck and if not should I just schedule a pick up at the post office since we are closed on Saturday and our mail box cant take the package that is coming. From the very second I called and asked for the carrier supervisor he sounded very irritated and was like ma'am can you just tell me what you need? I explained why I was asked to call his post office and gave my tracking number. He said why dont you just wait for your package to arrive instead of calling us. I told him I wasnt sure why he was being so rude and I was just trying to get some information. He said that I was just upset that he wasnt telling me what I wanted to hear and hung up on me. read more

TERRIBLE i placed an order at a store online and it always passes through Kent sorting facility on the way to me in NY This sorting facility is HORRIBLE and people are very nasty Literally half the time i place an order that has to pass through Kent..it never gets updated and literally sits at the sorting facility..when i call them they say "oh yeh looks like its in the sorting dept itll get there when it gets there to you" Very unprofessional and rude and they do NOT care Wish thrre was a way to bypass them... I've been this post office 3 times now. Each time I go I am pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything goes. No big lines. No hassles with my pre-paid labels. The latest trip, yesterday, really stood out for the excellent customer service I received. I was bringing in a 14-pound box. It was just a bunch stuff I was sending out for recycle, not especially important. But, I tripped on the curb on the way into the post office, and my package and I hit the ground. Luckily, I was okay. But, I ruptured one seam of my box in the fall. So, I grabbed an extra roll of packing tape to buy so I could mend the box, and told my story to the counter clerk. His first thought was for my well-being. "Are you sure you're okay?" I assured him it was just a scraped knee, but I was kind of disappointed that my package got damaged and now I had to buy some extra tape to fix it. Then, he offered to let me use some of the office tape to mend my package instead! He really didn't have to do that. I was so impressed by his kindness and concern! From now on, I'm only going to the USPS on Gowe street when I have something to mail. And I'm going to watch out for that curb next time... read more

The post office is sometimes one of those necessary evils. People need to send things. People need to pick up things that have been sent to them. Aaaaand we all need stamps from time to time. What I need, though, is to have a post office that has an automated machine I can access after 8pm. The employees aren't friendly, but they're not overtly rude. I have experienced a lot of apathetic customer service in my day, but this location of the usps takes it to a whole new level. It seems to filter down from the supervisor, Leo, who thinks simply saying "I don't know," when asked for a follow up on a case he is working on is a good enough answer. Refuses to follow up with employees but tells me I need to call back the employee that just told me to call him rather than handling it himself, like you know, a supervisor of employees. There needs to be some serious weeding out because their employees seem to delight in passing the buck and doing the minimum to help their customers. read more

I am really not sure what is up with the negative reviews for this post office. I have found it the best one I have been to in recent memory. I arrived after work at about 4:30pm to send multiple packages. There was no line at all! The employee who helped me was extremely friendly and personable, giving me all sorts of shipping options, estimated arrival dates, and tracking number info. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes, which is awesome considering the fact that I expected to wait much, much longer than that on a weekday afternoon. The only possible downside to this location is that the parking lot could be bigger and it is a bit awkward as customers are always trying to get in and out. I couldn't have asked for a better post office experience. read more

The following is a rant. Please take that into account and read accordingly. Every time I go here I feel like slamming my head into a brick wall. The staff is rude and unfriendly. They are not helpful and sometimes even angry. The angry part I can understand because that's how I feel every time I walk in here. Not only is the staff a problem but the people that come here as well. Let me just summarize my last visit to this slice of the 5th level of hell: I walk in and I'm greeted with a line of six people waiting for service and only 1 person working the counter. Well... there are other people working, but their both too busy talking to each other to help anyone. I go to the back of line and watch as the person at the front of the line places six large boxes on the counter and tells the worker she wants them sent to Japan. The worker asks if she filled out the necessary forms, and when the person says no she asks her to fill them out, while she is standing at the counter. For those of you following along that that means that the other six people in line have to wait for her to finish. About five minutes later one of the two workers talking finishes their conversation and walks over and asks for the next person to step up to the counter. The man stepping up asks were his mail is and she explains that it was all sent to the dead letter office because he hadn't picked it up for six months and hadn't paid for his post office box and had not left a forwarding address. He begins to yell at her and demand that she give him his mail. She explains that the dead letter office is some were in the mid west and she does not have access to it. This pointless argument continues for the next 15 minutes... After about 10 minutes the other person finishes filling out her forms and gets her packages sent off, the next person moves to the front of the line. This is a elderly woman who looks professional and put together. I think, maybe we can move along now.. NO SUCH LUCK... This costumer wants to look at ALL THE BOOKS OF STAMPS BEFORE SHE BUYS ANY... For the love of god your buying F****** stamps... Your credit card company is not going to look at which stamp you put on the envelop! The choosing of stamps takes about 10 minutes. The angry lost mail guy had left before she finished. Mr. returning something I got from QVC took his place. This fellow had to return some package but could not decide which option to take regarding verification of receipt of mail ect... At this point I'm pulling out what hair I have left and trying to rub the blood off the wall were I hit my head over and over. When its finally my turn (35 minutes later), I step to the front and had the worker my package asking for the media rate and pull out my credit card. The following is a summary of our conversation: Postal worker (PW): "I can't take this." Me (About to go postal): "Huh? You guys take Visa don't you?" PW: "Yes, but it isn't signed on the back." Me: "I know. Its says See ID." PW: "I can't take it. You have to sign it." Me:"Its never been a problem before, here or anywhere." PW: "I can't take it." Me: "I'll just sign it." PW: "OK, then I can take it." Me: "Fine" (I sign the card) She takes the card runs it through, and NEVER CHECKS MY ID! (End Rant) read more

UPDATE: My tracking just got scanned in Spokane. It literally went from "we received notification for your shipping label" to "arrived in Spokane USPS". That pretty much told me that they didn't even bother to scan the package at all. Ok, never coming here again. _________________________________________________ DO NOT DROP YOUR URGENT PACKAGES HERE! If I could give zero stars, I would and I usually write positive reviews on yelp! My package was dropped off 3 days ago and it still has not left this post office. They haven't even bother to scan the package yet! I shipped it 2 days priority for a reason! You can't call them because they've switch their main number to the fax machine because all you get is a screeching sound. You can the 1-800 USPS number and they will tell you to call the office directly. I was told that they'll have someone from the post office to follow up within 24 hours and nothing. You seriously can't be that understaffed that you have a package sitting there for over 3 days and it's not even busy holiday season! I had sent another package but dropped it off at the post office near South Center has delivered and it was sent the day after this package. So if you're not in a hurry to get your mail sent and can wait up to a week for them to get your mail moving, then by all means drop it off at this location. I'm still waiting and hoping my package will leave the post office soon... read more

This isn't my usual post office, but it was close to work and I needed to mail a letter so I tried it out. Too bad I didn't already have a stamp, so I had to wait in line. There were only 3 people in front of me, but it could have been an army, it took so long. When it was my turn, I asked for the stamps. The employees were not rude, but they were not friendly either. I was passing by this neighborhood this morning so decided to stop here instead of my usual Des Moines post office. What a colossal waste of time. In addition to the 20 minutes spent taking the detour and finding parking, I spent an additional 30 minutes waiting in line (it's the weekend before Christmas) to drop off 2 boxes which had pre-paid Priority mail labels already on them. Unlike other post offices, they have no drop off and I was told by the woman postal worker, if left on the counter, they would not scan them in due to how short staffed they are at this location (and I would therefore have to wait to see any tracking results until they reached their central office or possibly the destination)...so waiting in line was my only option. When I got up to the counter, the woman (thin Asian lady) immediately tipped my boxes over, despite the giant red stickers on all 4 sides that read "This Side Up". She was just about to scan the first label then said she should measure them to be sure. After she measured one, she glanced at the labels and informed me the postage I paid online was incorrect and that the size of my boxes would increase the price. How she knew this is a mystery since neither one of these labels had prices on them. She said I would have to pay more or the boxes might not reach their destination or that the recipient would have to pay upon delivery. Seemed hard to believe since one package weighed 4 pounds and the label cost $18 and the other weighed 5 pounds and cost $28. Seemed like a pretty hefty price to pay already. I asked her if she was sure...could she just check the labels to confirm. She scanned one and said "No, it's not enough" and said the other one would be the same case without even bothering to scan it. I couldn't believe anything she was saying (based on how unprofessional she was and also based on my pretty decent shipping experience of about 100 - 200 packages a month) so drove to another post office (in Des Moines). They scanned them in and confirmed they measured correctly upon my request. No problems at all. When I got home, I went to the USPS website and did a shipping estimate for both boxes, using their actual weight and dimensions and came up with the exact same postage I paid when I printed the labels the first time. All in all about an hour and a half to drop off 2 boxes...which normally takes me 5 minutes. I will never go to this location again. read more

This office beats the pants off any of the other offices in the area I've been to (downtown Seattle, Queen Anne, Kirkland) both in terms of pleasantness of the staff and efficiency of service. If I could give a rating of zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life! They lost my package that was supposed to be delivered three weeks ago. I have called and emailed numerous times, have not once received a call or email back, only when I have been able to get through to talk to an actual person do I get any information and all I have gotten as an answer as to where my package is is that it was delivered to the wrong house. They keep passing my claim to different people and departments saying "this department is handling your case now" when in reality no one wants to take responsibility for losing my package. I am getting nothing but the complete run-around and no answer not to mention everyone I talk to is so freaking rude and has an attitude like I am the one bothering them. If you aren't happy do something else with your life but don't take your frustration out on your customers when you losing my package is not my fault. Okay, I agreed with the prior reviews until recently - but NOW see change! After months of complaining, and talking with people in those long lines - and getting everyone to call in, making their point.. they finally listened and made a difference by staffing now 3 full-time to the counters. I find now, not only are the lines alot shorter, the staff is even friendlier. Thank you Kent PO, for trying to make a more friendly atmosphere, and showing you appreciate your customers! My package from eBay is just sitting in the post offices all around Washington for SIX DAYS!!!! It should've been here by now!!! ( vs beach, Va )... People at Poat offices do not want to do their jobs anymore!! There are people that really do need a job. Let them have yours!! The post offices all around suck!! I placed an order through ebay on July 31st and on August 1st it arrived at this facility. On August 2nd, I checked the tracking page and it said that the package had departed this facility at 4:35am on the same day, with an expected delivery day of Monday August 3rd. When I went to my PO box on Monday, I found no package, which was understandable as an expected delivery day can't be guaranteed. So I then repeated this process of checking the tracking page and the PO box on the 4th and 5th to find the same result. On August 6th, I sent them an email informing them of the situation, to which I have yet to receive a reply. It's now August 8th, which has turned out to be just like the 7th, the 6th, the 5th, the 4th, and the 3rd (no update, no package). So about an hour ago I decided to call them, and after dealing with a computer operator on 3 different USPS numbers, I finally got to talk to a person who informed me that the package hasn't even left this facility and an investigation into why has to be opened. In other words, I might get my package on August 12th making it 12 days since I ordered it and 9 days since it should have arrived, assuming an investigation doesn't slow down the shipping process, which clearly never started. As I said before, I get that an expected delivery day can't be guaranteed, but I still find it to be ridiculous that I haven't been updated by this facility about my purchase through the tracking page, the email I sent, or by just getting me my package. So to whoever is reading this, please avoid this facility, if possible, in regards to online purchases to avoid what I'm currently going through. read more

Mail sorting facility is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! I put an order in fromAshland Oregon to be forwarded to Gardena PO. Post offices both places have correct info. This was a MONTH ago and have still not received ONE PIECE OF FORWARDED MAIL! And a package sent from Santa Cruz tracking shows back and forth Ashland, Kent, Ashland, Kent, Ashland, Kent.RIDICULOUS! I am so incensed right now by the USPS - NOT ENUF WORKERS and workers don't seem to even try to do things correctly! HOW HARD CAN THIS BE?!?!? Now local PO number rang 100 times, no answer (Friday noon). Tried 800# and automated system has me so upset I took a Valium I've been saving for 6 months. Paid for an order to be shipped Priority Mail 2-Day™ from Seattle Washington. The shipment has sat in the Kent Washington Distribution center for 4 days. No way to contact them that I could find. Local PO says it get's here when it gets here. The 2-Day thing... well that just seems to be a suggestion. If it shows up a month late... too bad. New to the neighborhood but living in the area almost 10 years I went to this location to get postal money orders for my move-in costs. What a mistake! The older man helping me was so rude and offensive. I had to step away because all I said was hello, I need... and the disrespectful attitude started. He was very nice to the Asian lady before me so I had no heads up he was about to go from Jekyll to Hyde. When I went back to the counter once everyone else left I had to start out with, I need you to serve me like you don't hate me! This place is dark and brooding. Avoid this location if at all possible and go to the one on 240th, seriously. After this I started having problems with my packages being delivered to my house, the post office sent one back even after I requested redelivery twice even though it was never delivered to begin with. It was held at the post office for 2 weeks and the redelivery requests were ignored. This location treats your mail with a grudge. read more

I try to send things out in a timely manner, and have noticed over a year that the mail gets held up at the Kent, Washington post office. We are in Gig Harbor, and most mail has to go through Kent, and that always seems to hold it up litterally for days! Sometimes I'll drive all the way to Port Orchard to mail stuff because they apparently don't go through Kent, and it goes faster. I don't even know the route of the Port Orchard mail, because it gets there so fast, I never have to check. But, the Kent, Washington Post Office always holds up the mail. So frustrating! read more
