I've observed a few interactions with demanding customers and the staff have handled difficult situations with respect and competence. Went on Saturday to get package. Only two people ahead of me. It took the one being served - mailing two packages - 20 minutes for the first one because agent couldn't find the cost, etc., in the directory. Then the two of them had a five minute conversation over the second package. I let the man who came in after me go ahead because he only needed two stamps. Turns out he was friendly with the agent, and they had a ten minute conversation. My turn. Apparently, you don't need ID at this branch, but I showed her my driver's license anyway. Well, she looked in every bin for my package and was gone for an eternity. Couldn't find it. "If it isn't delivered tonorrow, come back here and we will look for it again." Why isn't the location of every package on the computer? Why isn't it immediately knowable if the carrier still has the package or has returned it to the branch? The USPS is in a lot of trouble if they don't train their agents and instruct them to smile and get on with business and not participate in conversations, and if the location of every package is not in the computer every leg of its journey. I stopped in on 1/3/26 to send an Amazon return at approx. 9:30am. The gentleman working at the counter was extremely unfriendly. He just starred at me with no greeting. I asked him a question and he was rude and seemed my being there was a great inconvenience. (I don't typically use USPS as Amazon has kiosks at Whole Foods and Khols but the vendor I purchased from uses USPS.) Latoya is a complete B-word. Screw it she's a C-word. She stunk worse than the piss covered cardboard boxes outside that the homeless sleep on, and I had to plug my nose for those. She told me I had to go to the back of the line because my envelope wasn't sealed which only took 10seconds to do so. Just because your life is awful doesn't give you the right to be awful to others. The Marion St location has messed up my post office box twice. For some reason, they keep putting a mail forward on it. Which was not requested. Then they fixed it. Now it's back on again. But since there is no real place to forward it, all my mail gets sent back to sender as undeliverable. After a few weeks. This is ridiculous. I bought my PO Box to keep my personal and business mail secure. I have wasted so much time getting it fixed each time. It has been anything but secure. This branch needs a major overhaul. So the lady at the front who helped me track my pacakage after it was allegedly delivered was super nice. However the package was not delivered and today after going through multiple hoops I was told to wait for the courier for my building at my mailbox. He was incredibly rude and we got into an argument. I told him whoever delivered it didn't put it in the right spot or something and he cut me off and said he could read and he never makes mistakes. Would not recommend getting a PO Box here if you get a lot of packages. Packages pretty much never get put in the box so you have to go to the desk to pick it up. There is often only one person working the desk and lines can take upwards of 30 minutes to get through. And than they sometimes lose the package within this facility. read more

Usually Painful This is usually the most painful post office to visit. Generally, the line is long and the service is slow. That said, I have noticed a marked improvement in the last several months. License to steal? "Missing" mail goes unanswered for. USPS Consumer relations and media person all connected and do nothing. If your mail goes "missing" even if it is insured they can literally steal it by giving you way less than what it is worth or insured for. You have no recourse. Consumer relations person, Brenda in Denver, the so called consumer help person, and media person, James, apparently have no accountability. Brenda is the person Washington DC had contact me and the simplistic things she could have done to actually find my "missing/stolen?" mail, she/he didn't. These people just tell you to try to navigate a site that gives you error messages and waste valuable time in finding your "missing/stolen?" mail. They act with arrogance as If they know they can't be touched. It's almost as if they are part of a USPS/CONGRESSIONAL swamp. No action. Just talk and hope they frustrate you until you go away. Bottom line is they will get a paycheck and it seems they don't really want/care to find out what exactly did happen to my "missing/stolen?" mail. It seems they don't even want to entertain my "missing" mail might possibly have been stolen. Brenda just said, go ahead and contact your Congressman because she is done "talking" to me as if she knows they like her, won't do anything to actually find out what happened to my "missing/stolen?" mail. I got the impression from Brenda (consumer relations? Person) and James (media/congressional man?) To go ahead and contact your Congress person because we are untouchable and they won't do anything either.. As if to say go ahead, nobody can do anything to us for not finding out what happened to your "missing/stolen?" mail. This nightmare has opened my eyes to what appears to be that the USPS is just one big R.I.C.O., corrupt, organization that knows it power will never be challenged. You, the consumer don't really matter to the people who get paid to help you. You are just a pest and you should just shut up, let your valuable items be "taken" from you and be happy with the insulting reimbursement they deem you worthless for. If you value what you are sending, don't send it USPS. When I mentioned all the other people who wrote about how they thought employees stole their mail, Brenda seemed to make lite of it saying "people just do that" as if they are making it up.. Well, I am real, my 25 INCH 3 lb 12 oz machined aluminum riser could not have just vanished into thin air while in possession of the USPS and they act as if that is OK, and I am hear to say do not use USPS is you value your mail. The worst I have ever experienced. I paid for 1 year in advance. I have been there 4 times and they were closed 2 times. 1-Holiday and 1 day - short staffed. I got 4 items delivered and 1 item was lost. It was the most expensive item of the 4. It is unbelievable. I was stunned how horrible this facility is run. I arrive to pick up a certified letter, the slip says it will be available at 10 am, I am here at 10:40. I count 27 people in line and two clerks. It takes me 28 minutes to see a clerk. They can't find my letter. The "Carrier didn't do what he was spose'ta". Now it gets weird. I am told to walk down the alley, find the building where they do sorting, knock really hard on the door and ask for Mark, my carrier who is "still prolly sorting mail". I knock hard and a helpful guy takes my slip and spends ten minutes finding the letter, regaling me about my carrier is lazy and didn't "do it the right way". I leave at 11:32. I've waited two weeks for an item which in the first place was suppose to be delivered in three days, two days ago when the item finally arrived the clearly incompetent letter carrier purposely places it in someone else's mailbox and now without doubt, I'll never see the items. This is absolutely not rocket science, all the mailman had to do was simply take a moment and verify the name on the package with the name on my mailbox and apparently he couldn't even do that, truly pathetic. If you need to mail something fragile while in Denver, I highly recommend this post office. Derrick helped me, and is worth far more than his weight in gold. He took the time to help me find the right packaging for both my camera tripod and Wacom tablet. They are fragile and expensive camera accessories. And that darned tripod doesn't fit in most boxes, but we found one. Derrick was kind and patient and very helpful in the entire process. His other two colleagues seem helpful and friendly, too, but I didn't get their names. The USPS, in general these days struggles, so excellent customer service is imperative. This post office is near the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and within a decent walk, but they do have plenty of parking if you need it. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. For as long as I can remember, every location has a long line and they never have enough counter help. More annoying is that they seem to pull people off the counter if the line goes down so that you are always waiting. If line goes from 5 to 2 people they just use one counter person and the other ones go in the back to do other stuff. Had one staff person be very rude to me because I didn't fill out a form in advance. Most of the help us always less than friendly. I like this USPS because of how easy it is to drop off my items. Patrick and other usps people are nice and very approachable. I dont agree with the sign posted requiring people to wear a mask but I wont overlook their excellent customer service. The wait time is a little longer here but i rather have someone take extra time and care for my package then to rush me through and chunk my item in a bin. read more

I must be confusing you with someone else. This guy comes out to announce to the roughly 13 people in line (come ON, open another damn window already) that, "we're going to tow whoever has the Silver Honda Element and Silver Rav4 because you're parked illegally." I'm Silver Rav4, and I've got a sleepy toddler in a sling on my hip, plus a package to wrap and mail. Silver Element is a solo dad with a three year old girl. He speaks up first. "I'm in a parking spot. There are yellow lines there." Major Assmonkey Badhair: "That's for EMPLOYEES." I think to myself that if there were actually enough employees working this sorry-ass joint there'd be sufficient parking space turnover where scavenging for spots wouldn't be an issue. And by the way, it's not like were going to HANG OUT HERE for the next couple hours or so! We're here to mail stuff, not grab a cappuccino and hit the WiFi. In 'n out, dude. I decide to speak up. Me: "I've parked there before and it's been fine." I don't add that I park there after closing hours to attend Tooey's Off Colfax, the (totally cool) bar next door. What Blagojevich-rug doesn't know won't hurt him. Major Assmonkey: "It's illegal. We'll tow you." Let me just say that I was not blocking a single other car, nor the stupidly arranged row of mailboxes at the curb. I was nowhere near a mail truck loading dock and did I mention my hazard lights were on? The guy was just flexing what little power he had to be a total meanie. This place is horrible, horrible, horrible. I have had about 3 or 4 dozen parcels that have come through this post office to me. Maybe 4 of those have arrived without incident. I have had packages scanned as delivered when they weren't. The carrier left notices for those packages saying I needed to come pick them up, but no one could find them because 1) they were scanned as delivered and 2) they were bouncing back and forth between the two facilities that make up this location, but no one would contact the other building for me because they were having some silly war on the scale of Montagues vs. Capulets over one of the delivery trucks (yes, I'm serious). I had to wait outside of the other building, which is not open to the public, until one of the carriers came back from his route and chase him down in order to get someone to locate my items. I have had packages left with the landlord even though I was home. I have had packages left on top of the mail box where anyone could grab them because the landlord wasn't home--even though I was home. Supposedly, there's one up there right now that was left yesterday that I can't get because I'm at work. I have had them not even bother to ring anyone's bell and leave a notice saying they missed me--even though I was home. I have scheduled redeliveries, planned my day around them, and had them show up without the package. They lost a $200 package I sent. They never answer their phone. The lines are horrible. The parking is horrible. The employees range from horrible to okay, but the fact that my Jillian Michael's DVD may or may not still be sitting on top of my mailbox when I get home is enough for me to not give any extra credit for the 'okay' ones. Some people move to certain areas for the schools. I'm going off to basic training soon, and when I get back, I'll move to an area with a better post office. Update: It was stolen. Lovely. Update of the update: I called last night and was told to call back today and talk to the supervisor. I did that, and the supervisor just handed me back to the carrier who, of course, didn't care. Let me begin with the parking situation. It transcends ridiculous. The spots located right up against the building? Reserved for another business. However, there are about eight spots on the opposite side of the parking lot that allow for 15 minute stops. This would be fine if you could be in and out of the post office in 15 minutes, but I'm getting ahead of myself here. So yeah, prepare yourself to spend a minimum of ten minutes simply finding a parking space. As a result, prepare to walk into the post office already cranky. Oh, and if you think you're being smart by just doing the drive up to the mailboxes and drop your stuff off trick? Maneuver your vehicle carefully, friend. Instead of having the mailboxes lined up in a straight line, their set-up curves. Plus, you have the 800 post office patrons behind you trying to muscle their way into the parking lot and snag one of the few places available, so you need to haul ass through the drop-off so as not to piss off a caravan of cars. When doing so, please take care to note the big yellow posts; they just love to scrape up against the side of your car and leave fabulous scratch marks across the lower panel near your rear tire on the driver's side - not that I'd know anything about that. I digress. Today, I brought several books to the post office to ship. Granted, I realize the USPS is coming off a three-day weekend. Granted, I went during lunch. However, wouldn't one presume that a post office might foresee that their traffic would be higher than usual, thus accommodating their clientele by having more than two windows open? Oh no. Of course not. There was no sense of urgency whatsoever. There were thirteen (THIRTEEN, I SAY!) people ahead of me in line. No one smiling, no one talking, several glancing repeatedly at their watches. It was like the DMV, only more solemn and lacking any sort of seating area. After standing in line for ten minutes and experiencing no forward movement whatsoever, I opted to leave. Screw that, dude. Don't waste your time. It's not worth any number of fancy Star Wars stamps. There was a line of 14 when I walked in but I was out in less than 15 minutes. Four Post Officers were working as hard as they could and mine was courteous and fast. This place is a realllllll hit or miss. I've waited for ages in there, waited in the car for ages for someone in there, and circled the neighborhood for parking just like everyone else. I've also been in there when it's been dead. Not exactly sure how to time it, but I often see one or two people at the counter not helping when there is a line out the door. One of the worst post offices I've used, and I've been here dozens of times. This office is understaffed, the employees are slow and show no sign of working fast or caring about expediting the long lines, and wait times are about 20 minutes with only 1 or 2 employees working the desk. Additionally, no automated vending machine is available to purchase stamps to speed up stamp purchasing I'm writing this because a small package was returned to me marked "insufficient postage," when the postage and stamps used were actually correct. The employee weighed the package and told me I used the right amount of stamps and that a colleague made a mistake. seriously the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. A lady named 'Cece' raised her voice, eventually started yelling at us. I paid $20 for OVERNIGHT shipping when I was on vacation. OF COURSE the mailman gets "confused" and doesn't leave the package. It just so happens my keys were in there. I tried mailing my keys back so my boyfriend could move my car for me. Obviously he wasn't able to get them so I got a $50 ticket due to street sweeping. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I'M NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wish I could give them ZERO stars. The line, if you make it inside, is frustrating. Everyone here is surly. Patrons, workers, homeless people outside. Everyone. The parking lot is awful. There are 3 spaces...mind you this location is adjacent to Colfax, one of the busiest streets in the city of Denver, yet the parking lot, which is shared with a bar across the lot, only has enough parking for the 1st 3 patrons of the day. The street parking is completely used by the residents of the street. This location is just the worst in the city. I avoid it like liver. read more

This place is a giant ball of pure mess. Came here at 2pm on a weekday, to be greeted by a line of a dozen people ahead of me. In the time it took for even the next person to be called, another dozen showed up behind me. There were 2 clerks working. One had a guy shipping a dozen boxes, all large stuff, so it took awhile. When he was done, he left, disappeared, never to return. This left one clerk, at 230pm by this point, to take care of 30+ people in line. When my turn came, the clerk was polite and helpful, but a bit exasperated and seemed overwhelmed but the prospect of being the sole employee to get the line down. While I can't really hate on the US Postal Service because I feel bad for such a dying industry I do have to put it out there that having one person staffing such a large post office is a mistake. The only time I have ever seen more than one employee is near Christmas time. Expect long lines, loud cell phone talkers, and a general nonchalant attitude from the employees. I am glad we still have this service but I sometimes wish the employees were glad too. read more

Just awful. First time I figured I just hit a bad day, the week before Mother's Day. After this stop, and talking to other in line, I've realized it is just the worst PO I've visited. Staff looks like they're trying to move slowly. It is kind of bizarre. They have no urgency with the line, and ignore eye contact. The place has many spots to check out, but only one or two are apparently ever there. There is no computer for self service, which would pretty much change everything. One person in line who has to deal with the place quite a bit said the supervisor, or whatever the PO boss is called, is a real jerk and has no interest in giving good service. Everyone who works there transfers out ASAP. The supervisor likely doesn't request extra funding or support to improve the place. Sad that we have to deal with this... read more
