Slowest.Post.Office.Ever! It's ridiculous that only 1 employee works the counter while there's a line of 12-15 people out the door. It's not a reflection of the nice lady working, but the manager should make sure things are being taken care of in the front of the house. I've walked out 3 times while waiting in line over the past month, each while waiting almost 15 min and the line barely moves. Not sure why I keep coming back. Oh yeah, because it's the only post office in this town. FAIL!!! read more

After getting the run around at the Monument post office, decided to call instead of driving to find out if they had a flat rate international box as I needed to send an item to Australia. The woman on the phone seemd to go into a loop when I said the word 'flat rate'. She kept insisteing they had only three sizes of boxes and wny of them could be used for international shipping. I needed on listed on the U.S. Postal Service website that was Priority International Large Video format which could be shipped for $48.95. She said they no longer have that box and I asked why they listed it on the website.....she then went back into her loop about the three different sizes of flat rate boxes. read more

To the reviewer who says to talk to our neighbors about the mail - the people who are complaining here mostly live in apartments: we hold no power over getting our mail delivered correctly-this is why we're complaining! Hideous, snotty customer service. Would not help me find any of my mail in my new community that went missing for 3 months; and months later, I never ever received any of it. We have had at least 3 new carriers assigned to our community (we were told it was 'personnel issues') - the current kid knows absolutely nothing about nothing but thinks he know everything. Worse Post Office in America!!!!!! Weekly others get my mail and vice versa and we wind up delivering our neigbors ourselves!! At least Once a month a have a package that says delivered but wasn't as I have camera's... sometimes it will just show up and a few times never does! Called everytime but it NEVER gets better! Slow service, and while not overly customer friendly, they do keep their supplies filled and lobby pretty clean so there is that. I see a lot of reviews here for neighborhood postal carrier issues and I can only say that living in Castle Rock for 5 years I do think there might be some of that. Just not sure I'd blame this post office for it. Our boxes were often left on the front steps without issue. We often got neighbors mail. No biggie, I'll walk it down and give it to them myself. I feel like a lot of the hate here (and one star reviews) could just be a matter of communication with your neighbors. Should this Post Office bear that blame? Up to you I guess. I'd say these guys do alright, talk to your neighbors. You can commiserate about your carrier (if needed) and swap mail without having to come here. read more

The United States postal service has become a joke. I had a Priority Letter sent from Missouri. Tracking showed they "Tried to deliver it but it was undeliverable". I received other mail that day so this was lie on the part of the delivery person. Next day no mail. Day 9 since my priority letter was sent I went to this post office and was told it would probably be there today but if not come back again tomorrow. He also told me that they aren't delivering everyday anymore because if staff shortages. So much for the old saying of being reliable. What is the point of a tracking number if they aren't scanning it. When my mail does show it has been at 730 PM. I won't use the postal service anymore unless it is my only option. Pay more and use FedEx. read more

Service has never been exemplary in my 20 years in Castle Rock. However, the new carrier in Silver Heights has set a new low benchmark. No matter what, she is simply unable to do the job. Mail is never delivered daily, it is delivered in clusters as she deems fit. Got a package? She won't deliver it.... It will make the world tour and you will have to come to the post office because no one cares to do their job properly. No quantity of patience or complaining seems to make any difference. This post office should be shut down for incompetence! I recently went to retrieve a package (with USPS tracking/delivery confirmation in hand) and was told multiple times it wasn't there. When the woman at the counter finally decided to write down the tracking number, and yet again go look for my "missing package", she came back with a package I had ordered in NOVEMBER of 2019! I had completely forgotten I had even ordered this specific package. She then found the actual package I was there to pick up, amid various excuses as to why she couldn't locate it originally. Had this been a one off encounter, I would've chalked it up to a simple mistake; however, I have had nothing but piss poor customer service and bad attitudes in every interaction with the staff at this location. I was chastised by BRIAN at the counter when initially setting up my PO Box because he didn't understand how to file the paperwork I had already filled out/printed and brought with me. All I needed to do was pick up my key, the box was already paid for, but yet I'm given a lecture and a nasty attitude the whole time! You people need to understand you are in a SERVICE role. It is YOUR job to assist the people that come to the counter. Don't like it? Find a new career. It's really that simple. read more

Agree with many of the commenters below - have had many frustrating experiences and issues with delivery/pickup/dropoff. Additionally, the drop box for packages has been out of service for months so while they advertise as having a front end that is open to mail packages at the self-service kiosk, you can't drop them off until they are open during normal business hours. The drop box is STILL not working. This is a brand new office. Yesterday when I walked in people were saying they were waiting for over an hour (I get that it's the holiday season, but there were two people working that would disappear for long stretches of time). This office is so poorly run. If you do your postage at home it is impossible to drop off a package and get a receipt unless you wait over an hour. I scheduled pickup on my porch and it sat outside for two days. I'm not trying to use USPS anymore. read more

For Christmas we had a neighborhood gathering, and all 30(ish) attendees agreed Castle Rock, CO has the most disgruntled postal employees of anywhere we have all lived. For any post office staff/management that actually care...This post office location has abysmal service. My mail was taken into holding due to my mailbox was "too full". I've followed the instructions to retrieve my mail, but I get bullshit excuses about my mail not being available due to it being at another location. Then I need to come back another day, and then another day. I've also called the phone number provided, but no one ever picks up. I'm a small business owner and honestly this is the most inconvenient post office that I have ever worked with. The drop box has been broken since they moved to the new location and the lobby hours are inconvenient. We had the same problem in Longmont with the drop box but it just meant something was blocking the chute. It is literally a sliding chute, there are no electrical components. Whenever I ask them about fixing the chute, I get a rude "Thats the plan!" Really? If you literally walk three feet and remove the blockage, it will work. Terrible service -- everytime I have picked up and/or dropped off a package the employees have been very rude. Multiple packages that don't show up in our mailbox, and then you get an alert saying to come in to pick it up.. only for them to say we don't know where your package is. Never thought I'd be writing a review about a post office, but having just moved here and seeing the bad reviews of the post office I was incredibly stressed at trying to find my missing packages which claimed to be delivered. I called their direct number as soon as they opened (8:30 am) and was immediately connected to a lovely employee who worked to confirm my change of address was in the system and then went to see if my mail was being held. Our lovely carrier knew we were new and wasn't sure we had moved in yet so had been holding our mail to make sure we received it. The carrier then proceeded to deliver the held mail that same morning. The staff and carrier made my stress vanish with ease. I know the postal system has it flaws, but was pleasantly surprised by this great customer service! read more

After 50 years being a homeowner in many states and receiving mail, I can definitively say that the service by Castle Rock PO is the worst. I'm fed up of lazy mail persons only delivering letters or catalogs. Anything else is stuck at the PO for pick up, where the line is always over an hour. We have an oversized mailbox, and just last week we've had to go to the PO twice to pick up hand-sized packages. read more

UPDATE: The same day I wrote this review....my husband comes home to tell me a local business that was trying to send us a package has had the delivery returned to them. They called him to verify our correct address (which was correct on the package) because the post office returned it to them as "unable to deliver"!!! This is exactly what I am talking about. This post office has major issues with sending and delivering mail for reasons we just can't figure out!!!! I have only been inside this post office once during one of the busiest times of the year before Christmas. My wait was to be expected and the man who helped me was very nice. My one star rating is for the service provided to my home. I have never had so many issues with getting my mail/packages delivered to my home in the short amount of time I have lived here. I have complained about this issue to a coworker who lives in the area, and she has had many issues too! Packages lost, mail returned with correct address....I could go on and on. The contract delivery person in my neighborhood is a freaking moron. I continue to have packages go missing or delivered to the wrong house and I continue to get mail that is not mine. I must have 6 different houses mail I fill like I have a second job in delivering mail that is not mine. It's really not that hard people the address is on the front of the package. I get every once in while mistakes happen but my god every damn package. I have countless complaints about this guy and nothing is being done about him. If I could give 0 stars I would. I am not asking for favors, I am PAYING for a service that is consistently done half "bleep". The service provided may be good enough for the regular residential customer that gets their neighbor's mail on occasion and does not mind taking it to the correct home. However, if you are selling online, it is a BIG problem. My advice to all others that had bad experiences: Call 1-800-275-8777 and submit a case. OK, this is weird as I've never written a review of a post office and it never even occurred to me to do so until today. I was simply doing a search to find out what time they closed today and saw all these one-star posts. But I just want to say that I've lived in Castle Rock for 13 years and I have never once had a negative experience at this post office. Everyone​ who works there is​ smiling, helpful, and quite fast. Yes, sometimes the lines are long (same as Target, King Soopers, and pretty much any other place in town as Castle Rock keeps growing and growing and growing) but they work hard and are very patient and helpful with all the customers who show up to the counter unprepared (which, it seems, is most of them). I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes except at Christmas time or on Saturdays, when everyone else is there too. We have the neighborhood box and sometimes I get my neighbor's mail or they get mine. It doesn't happen every day or even every month but it does happen. My solution? To simply walk 25 feet to my neighbor's house, say hello, and give them their mail. I certainly don't consider it a big enough inconvenience to fuss about it on Yelp. I mean, if my biggest problem that day is that I'm forced to say hello to a neighbor, then I'd say I'm probably having a pretty good day. read more

If you gave the USPS more than one star, you either work there or have friends who work there. Every damn person seems to have a sense of entitlement. Just yesterday I had to remind the rude, overweight redhead in the skin tight shorts, who helped me (half assed) they need to up their customer service skills and be far more efficient - she didn't care. Like the other carriers, have a solid dress code and grooming standards. I don't want to see a hobo look alike helping me or delivering my mail! The lines are long - average wait time every time is approximately 10 - 15 minutes (yeah, I keep track). If given the choice, I go with UPS or FedEx every time. How the USPS hasn't figured out how to copy their business model is beyond me. Oh wait, I am taking about a government agency and am certain they do not check Yelp for constructive criticism. DONT COME HERE!!! The workers are extremely rude and slow. They make you hand write the packages to and from when they do not need to! Soo frustrated!! This is the 3rd time they have not delivered my vacation hold mail. The dates are clear as to when to stop the mail and when to deliver the accumulated mail. Today I called the post office again, ( for the 3rd time) and was told,"oh sorry". I will have the carrier deliver it today....NO mail today. Outstanding service by the two gentlemen that helped me try and locate a package. I was told that the package was delivered to the Post Office by Sears Parts Direct via UPS. I drove to the Castle Rock P.O. and the two gentlemen looked into my situation. They printed information from their computer records and informed me that the package had not arrived in their Post Office but was still in transit from Texas.
