H3 Painting - The day is overcast, but we love our home's new look!

H3 Painting

(2 reviews)

Our house was desperately in need of some repairs and painting and H3Painting came to the rescue!…read moreThey came and walked the house perimeter while we discussed the work that was needed and paint colors. We wanted to update the exterior to a slightly more contemporary classic look. A detailed estimate was provided (I had a couple other quotes and theirs was in line with the others). We approved it and then the transformation began. They power washed the areas to be painted, made the necessary repairs and did a lot of prep scrapping, caulking & priming. Windows, stonework, landscaping and other areas were carefully taped and covered. The painting crew worked efficiently and were ready to retouch any area we asked to be tweaked. When the job was nearing completion, we walked the perimeter again with the project manager where we both found a few areas that needed a bit more caulking, more paint, a line straightened, etc. The paint crew followed up on all the little details until we were satisfied. The job site was cleaned up every day and everything was left in good order. We had been dreading having our house painted, but H3Painting made it a great experience. We highly recommend them and will have them back for any other painting we need done.

They were on time, cleaned up the work spaces and made sure I was completely satisfied with their work. I will use them again when I have the opportunity!

Groovy Hues of South Denver - Exterior Commercial Painting

Groovy Hues of South Denver

(6 reviews)

In July 2024, before my wife and I moved into our new townhouse, we hired the Denver franchise of…read moreGroovy Hues to paint two bedrooms and the stairwell walls. They quoted us two days, it took four; the painting was sloppy, especially in the bathroom; and we discovered that the actual paint they used was not the premium paint we paid for, but rather a cheap contractor paint that runs when it gets wet. (Not great for a bathroom!) This wasn't discovered until a few weeks after the job was done, when some water got splashed on the wall and the dark blue turned to light blue as the droplets ran down. We attempted multiple phone calls, emails and texts, but could only ever speak to random representatives at a call center, who could only make notes and "pass along the message." We even tried a certified letter by mail -- nothing. After about a month of this, I called to make an appointment myself, just to see if I got a response at all, pretending to a "new" customer as my wife and I don't share a last name and she had set up the original appointment. I still didn't receive any contact whatsoever. I called once more and informed the call center rep that we would be starting the process for small claims court. After submitting our case, however, it was around this same time that we discovered the Denver franchise had finally been marked as "Permanently Closed" on Google Maps, and we saw all the other negative reviews that had been submitted since our job in July. I then tried sending a message to their corporate office via the contact form on their website, but didn't receive any replies that way, either. Finally, I sent a message on LinkedIn and someone to finally replied. We were them in touch via email & phone, I explained everything and sent all documentation, and in the end we were refunded $1200 of the $1,800 we spent. This was acceptable to us since the main parts of the walls look fine -- it was the edging and quality of paint that was the problem -- but even the refund check was unprofessional, sent in a hand-written envelope without any paper around it. Fortunately, the check cleared, but anyone could have held it up to the light and easily seen the contents. They didn't even have much detail about what had happened; best they can guess, the previous owner (JACOB LANGNER), must have sold it to someone else and the new owner ran it into the ground. Apparently they couldn't be bothered to return any calls. If you have also been a victim or know anyone who has also had this kind of experience with Groovy Hues, CONTACT THEM!!!
