Friendly staff but very long wait. Only two people were working at 4 PM. However the location was clean and organized, and it was easy to find priority mail envelopes and boxes to fit what we needed to ship. They also had a good variety of stamps to choose from, so we bought two sheets. There's also two self-serve stations and a large parking lot. read more

I've had a morning full of very positive experiences and wonderful people doing a wonderful job. The post office was no exception today. I dropped in to send a certified letter. There was no line and no wait ! I was cheerfully greeted by a postal worker, and I am so sorry that I didn't get her name because she truly deserves accolades. She was very helpful with instructions on filling out the forms I needed and checking on anything else I might need. She was very also very kind with the issues I was working with and gave very helpful advice about renewing my passport as well. So if you stop in to this branch and see a tall very blue eyed , salt and pepper, blunt cut with bangs, postal worker , and you are lucky enough to get in her line, then you're very likely to have excellent service. read more

Stopped in last week Friday to mail some bubble envelopes. Early afternoon, the parking lot was crazy, but only for the drive up mailboxes. Inside there were about 5 people ahead of me. All social distancing, markings on the floor for guidance. The line moved quick! I think it took longer to get my 8 envelopes metered than the actual line wait. A busy location, I say I timed it right when I left there were about 15 people in line. read more

I've been to many post offices in 716 and this one is super nice. Went on a weekday, early afternoon. It was packed. The parking lot could be a bit bigger due to the high volume of visitors, but that's not a huge issue. Was there a line? Oh yeah, almost to the door. I was impressed they were staffed to handle us all. There were four employees working their tail feathers off keeping the line moving pretty quick. The lady that took my packages was super friendly. I've been to some that are only focused on getting people in and out, so I appreciated her warm personality. This location sells all the typical stuff. Stamps, boxes, envelopes, cards. Drop off boxes outside and inside. There were a couple self service kiosks that I've never tried using, but saw people at both so I can at least testify the machines were functioning. This isn't the closest PO to my house, but if I'm in the area, I'd have no issue going again. read more

The 5500 baily ave branch is way to busy at all times. Don't bother calling Saturdays. They will not answer the phone. Tried to call them numerous times to discuss my hold and no one would pick up the phone. read more

This is one of the largest post offices I've visited! I'm reasonably sure the size is because it is also the central sorting facility for Amherst, but the lobby is immense, with lot of PO Boxes, areas to package your stuff, and even some self-service kiosks for when the attended portion is closed. Because of the cavernous space, it was a little bit confusing to find priority mail non-express envelopes, but one of the workers directed me to where they were. All the workers here were friendly and nice, and very helpful, working with me when my dyslexia made me transpose numbers for the package I was sending. US Post Office - Self service kiosks - Post Offices Near Me - Buffalo, New York

I made a purchase on line from the Walmart web pages, paid via PayPal. On July 7, 2021, I received notice from USPS that the package had "Arrived at USPS regional facility July 07, 2021 at 4:47 AM". The notice included 20-digit tracking number and the notation "Delivery Date Unknown". I checked daily via the USPS Informed Delivery web site and got the same message daily with the updated date of my inquiry reflecting the dates I checked. After more than a week, I contacted our post office and actually talked to a person, who confirmed what I claimed, including my address and zip code which I had not given him. He said he would look into it and call me the next day, a call I never received. On July 21st, after still checking every day, nothing had changed, and on the occasions I tried calling the Post Office, I never got an answer to the phone's ringing and ringing. That changed today (July 22nd) in that in consulting on the USPS Informed delivery web site, my package was no longer listed, as if it had disappeared! Calling the Post office proved fruitless, as no one ever answered. So far I have discovered that the item was actually one made by a third party, not Walmart, was originally shipped by either UPS or FedEX (not sure which), and then turned over to USPS for final delivery. Apparently this worked OK until the USPS got the package. From there on, it seems to have been in limbo, and finally disappeared. Coincidentally (or not) this is the third time, mail has been lost by this post office for us. It has so far been impossible to contact anyone about this. I've e-mailed the listed postmaster, but have not received a reply to date. I suggest if possible it would be well to ask how the order you make on line will be shipped and by what means. Avoid the handoffs to USPS for final delivery. read more

Overall, a pretty good post office with exceptional customer service and plenty of parking. Located in Amherst off North Bailey, this post office offers plenty of postal boxes, an automated stamp machine, and about 3-4 clerks. They also sell greeting cards which was quite convenient the last time I frequented this post office, saved me an additional stop. Lines can vary from just a few people to lots of people, back up to the door - even when it isn't late December/Christmas. Granted I typically go during the lunch hour, take this with a grain of salt. I appreciate the service and abundance of parking. read more

This is the second closest post office to me (the first one is cash only and that is just stupid). I've never had a bad experience at this post office and the staff has always been friendly to me while I'm there. I ventured in this afternoon with 9 records ready to be shipped. The place was packed but they had 4 separate stations open and the line moved very quickly. Overall this is going to continue being my preferred post office, it's the biggest and most convenient to go too. read more

I would have thought that this post office, located in the Consumer Square area of Bailey/Maple/Niagara Falls Blvd would have been an absolute zoo, but I had 2 packages to send and this PO is close to work. Parking was open and abundant. I sailed right in, the Friday before Father's Day, only a couple of people ahead of me in line. Waited for about a minute, went up to the counter, and paid for my postage for my parcels to be sent. Quick, clean, pleasant experience. I'll be back! read more

This post office is very, very large. 5 stars for having not one but TWO self-serve machines -- seriously, what did we do without them... wait in line!? Talk to people!? Gross! The lobby is also open 24/7, so if you need to do any midnight mailing, you're in luck! I hate hate HATE the location, however. People are always whipping down N Bailey, and it's pretty darn hard to make a left turn into or out of the parking lot. read more

I just went there to buy 10 rolls of stamps for my church. I go there 3 or 4 times a year to do this with a check in hand from our church. They usually ask for my drivers license as ID and give me the stamps. The young man that took care of me.. told me he couldn't sell me stamps with a check. WHAT??? He said he needed a supervisor. Never before has this been an issue.. so .. I left the post office WITHOUT stamps and very frustrated. read more

Is reviewing a post office odd? Well if it is, oh well, but I think this post office deserves some positive recognition because the employees here are just the sweetest. Ample parking off the bat and the line moves FAST. Nobody wants to hang around on line at the post office when they are trying to send that birthday package that we are all guilty of forgetting about and waiting til the last minute! Since when do places not accept cards that say "See Photo ID"? In all the years that I have had a credit card, I have NEVER had a place not accept my card because of that. AND I have previously used this very same card at this very same post office. Today however the clerk would not accept the card and the manager would not either. This post office has now been rendered completely useless to me as I do not carry cash with me and write "See Photo ID" on my cards, as I have done for the past 12 years. The ladies were polite about the whole thing but that doesn't change the fact that now I have to drive out to Hertel. Or feel like it's a crapshoot every time I want to mail something. read more

The people at this post office cannot get their facts straight. I was reusing a box that happened to be a priority mail box. When I first sent it, the lady who scanned it did not tell me that there would be any problem. The person I shipped the item to got a $30 bill for the "priority shipping." They refused the package and it was sent back to me. When I took it back to the post office the guy just told me to cross out all of the "priority mail" barcodes and such. It was sent back again with another $30 "priority mail" bill. When I took it back to the post office the 3rd person I have talked to has finally told me, without prompting, to not use a priority box. I don't know why what's on the box matters more than what's on the shipping label, but it would've been nice to know that before being forced to pay $60 in shipping for a package that in still I'm my car. read more

There's no place like 5500 North Bailey. This Post office serves as my only permanent address, and I plan to keep my PO box here for years to come. I can come in at 4am and get my mail because there is 24 hour access to these PO boxes. Talk about luxury, yelp. This is the good life. read more

I had to put a mailbox that is approved by post office. this box has a lock on it because my wife has dementia. I have been in touch with the post office three times about my mail being crammed in, it gets wet because the door is open, wrinkled and a mess. i''l have to get a post office box because the carrier cant take a few seconds more to put it in properly. I was assured that this problem would be taken care of but it hasn't. read more

This post office exemplifies why the USPS is a horrible and archaic enterprise. I had an urgent package needed by today and paid for two day shipping but the post office never dropped it off and never left a slip. I then attempted to call this post office for hours in the morning yet nobody answered. So I spent hours trying to get ahold of someone on the National line. After finally getting in touch with them they told me where it was ready for pickup. After going there and waiting for almost a half hour they tell me it's out for delivery again. This does me nothing for getting what I needed today. The worse part is there is nothing that can be done to remedy this terrible situation. I lose out on all the money I spent for this package because I can't use what I needed in time and now will have to pay these horrible employees for returning it. What a joke of an organization particularly this post office. Avoid these people who can't do the simplest task of sorting packages!!!' read more
