Everyone working here is rude. They're all government workers with great benefits and decent pay. Yet, the women in here have nasty attitudes. Usually, my dad is able to pick up my parcels for me. Sometimes, he has some himself. When I showed ID, I was told to go home and wait for the truck driver to come upstairs. They told me they missed the delivery date. I switched it to the next day, yet I was told I was wrong. The woman even caught an attitude. This place should be shut down ASAP or find employees who are decently trained in customer service. Oh yeah, the lines are way too long and the women take breaks after being at the window for 15 minutes. You've got to be kidding me. read more

This is the worst post office in Brooklyn. The staff including the supervisor are not people friendly and very very rude and condescending. For people cork in a customer service field they are horrible and very rude. This Post office needs a complete overhaul of staff!! read more

Worst post office ever. The 'notice left' slips are never actually left and I have to go online and search the tracking number to find where my package is. And then, even when I go to the post office, and the tracking number says it's there, they STILL CAN"T FIND IT! Had many a package returned to sender as undeliverable because they lose it at the post office there. Prepare for an exercise in futility whenever you go there. I'd give it a negative star if i could. read more

The lines are SO long. And it is SO slow here. If you need to make a trip to this post office atleast give yourself 45 minutes. You will be in line forever. It is crowded in this post office and there definitely are never enough clerks working. read more

Is there a way to give them no stars. The customer service by mrs O. Is the worst. There is no accountability for the errors of the staff and no one willing to assist you correcting those errors with out excessive eye rolling and glib commentary. read more

I wish there was an option to give negative stars. In addition to being incompetent, the employees go out of their way to ensure that your experience is as frustrating and time consuming as possible. Give yourself at least half an hour for this ridiculousness if you want to do something simple like mail something. Don't even think about finding your package. There are a lot of issues with mail not making it to addresses in this neighborhood. This post office explains why. Avoid if at all possible. read more

Thinking about the times I've spent here makes me physically ill. I love sending mail and packages, but I won't do it while I live in this neighborhood. The people here are HORRIBLE and will ruin your day. Also, they never ever ever ever ever answer their phone. read more

I wish I didn't have to give it one star. The post office accidentally gave me someones package, even though they checked my ID. The branch manager, Sheila Nelson, called me up the Friday before July 4th and asked I BRING it back. After the holiday, I returned it and she rude. I understand that people have bad days, but she inferred that I stole money from the package. Once she found the $50 bill, she didn't even apologize or SAY THANK YOU. Sheila, you deserve to be fired for your inept ability to manage people and your unmannerliness. read more

My God, I've used this post office for many years and it only seems to get worse. The line is always long and even if it doesn't seem long the lack of ppl working there makes it become longer. Mgmt is pretty rude and everyone works like they just don't care. The place is usually pretty messy as well. I work in Manhattan and the post offices out there looks like the government actually cares about customers. Why is this not the same everywhere. An why doesn't every post office have the kiosk? I could go on and on. If you absolutely need to go to this post office you NEED to go on a day you have nothing else to do because you will at least be in there for 20 min. read more

The interior could use a renovation and a paint job. The employees are rude and unprofessional. The lines are long and moves slowly even when there are more than 3 tellers, which is rare. Are they understaffed or hardly working, who knows?! No one ever picks up the phone if you call the office. Seriously, they should just shut this one down. If you have a bad experience, call the national USPS customer service line and file a complaint. I'm sure that if enough of us voice our concerns, something will be done about it. read more

Destroyed my daughter's Easter by claiming a package with her dress was delivered the day before and then leaving an orange slip for it the next day. Now we won't have her dress on time for the holiday. We were home all day and they never bothered to deliver any package. They just leave the slip because they can't be bothered to sort through and deliver packages. They leave it up to the addressee to take time out of their lives to go to the hellhole that is the James E. Davis Post Office to retrieve it. The other half of the time, my packages will go to the wrong address. In person, long lines and abysmal service. Went to pick up a package and was told it was sent back two weeks ago. They had given me the wrong person's slip back and told me the wrong information. Awful post office, please avoid at all costs. I will no longer even order from companies that use USPS to ship items. read more

The worst. EVER. They routinely lie and say they attempted delivery but were unable to deliver. Really? Did you try buzzing my apartment? Because I was home ALL DAMN DAY waiting for you. Then you have to go to the dirtiest, slowest, post office to wait around for at least 45 minutes with the surliest government employees in the USA. Lots of eye rolling, blank stares, demeaning attitudes. I have seen screaming matches break out. They might find your package. They might not. But be prepared for them to piss on your leg and tell you it's raining. read more

RUN. RUN NOW. The lines here are horrible, and even after waiting in line for 2 hours or so, there's no guarantee you'll get what you came for. You can also tell the staff must get a lot of shit, and the manager looks like she's dealt with enough of it to not care anymore, so don't come here expecting service with a smile. My first trip here occured when I never got a package I requested to have re-delivered since I wasn't home. It's a special type of hell here. Avoid at all costs. read more

The world's most incompetent people work here! This place lacks organization and management, but you'll get a lot of attitude and sass. How does it take 45 minutes to retrieve a package (I was home the entire day I got the "Sorry we missed you slip" by the way) when there are only 3 other costumers in the entire place? I also love how the person I think is the manager, has on several separate occasions, said "Sorry for the wait we have 4 people who called out today!" Yeah, who the hell wants to work in a place that is complete disarray. read more

The WORST Post Office EVER! Avoid at all cost! Line is ALWAYS wrapped to the entrance door. And the manager is always nasty. They move at the pace of snails here and don't care... read more

I have never in my life been treated more rudely than I have by the employees of this post office. I recognize that they likely have an pleasant job, however, their job is still customer service. There is almost always a long line and I have yet to have a positive experience with any of the employees after several visits. I know that the post office is never really a good experience for anyone, but this branch seems to go out of it's way to make mailing or picking up packages a crummy time. I will avoid using this particular post office as often as possible. read more

ABSOLUTE WORST POST OFFICE in Brooklyn.they are rude, and inconsiderate workers that give 0 shits about helping customers. RUINED MY DAY

If I could get this place 0 stars I would. Terrible service, insane lines, absolutely chaotic. In addition, their post delivery people don't bother actually delivering packages to people's homes. I stayed at home all day (after specifically scheduling re-delivery through USPS website) and the pink slip just miraculously appeared in my mailbox staying I was not there to accept the delivery. No one actually came to the door. Will have packages shipped to my office going forward. read more

US Post Office - Crowded and hostile. - Post Offices Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

The worst post office in the world. They say they delivered your packages that somehow you mysteriously never receive (despite sitting at home in your apt ALL DAY SPECIFICALLY TO BE AVAILABLE TO OPEN YOUR DOOR TO RECEIVE THE PACKAGE- this has happened to me three times already and I've only lived in this zip code for 8 months!)), move like molasses in the branch office, intentionally leave the phone off the hook during the day, I could go on and on and on. GOOD LUCK getting your mail delivered though the USPS here! The absolute bottom. read more

My experiences here have always been hit or miss. But mostly just miss. Pro tip: if you get a peach slip for a missed package and it says you can pick it up the next day after 9AM, that is a lie. Apparently there is no way they can sort packages from the day before in time so they will make you come back after 12PM. Why they don't put the accurate time on the slip is beyond me. No respect for peoples time. read more

This post office sucks. The delivery is terrible and the service is inefficient. Waste of taxpayer $$. Any time I receive anything larger than a letter, they withhold the package requiring me to go into the post office to retrieve it. If I could, I would change my Amazon Prime account to choose any carrier other than USPS for this reason. I lived in the midwest for over a decade where mail carriers were competent, efficient, friendly. read more

Notmally really like this post office. the employees typically are nice and the line moves relatively quickly compared to other ny post offices. however, i went in today and had an awful experience. i typically wouldnt review a post office because it's a post office but i feel like this is a serious offense. when i went up to the counter i had extreme difficulty in hearing what the usps worker at the window was saying. i got incredibly confused and flustered because i couldn't hear what she was saying and the employee kept rolling her eyes at me and insinuated that im stupid. i am not stupid. i am hearing impaired. it's not my fault i have difficulty hearing and it doesnt help that she was barely opening her mouth. this whole experience just felt very unfair considering i cant control my hearing abilities and she insinuated i was stupid because i couldnt understand her. maybe she shouldve spoken up when i said i couldnt hear her???? clearly this woman is not accommodating to others needs or abilities. she made me feel bad about not being able to hear. i hope she feels awful for being an ableist and awful person. i wish i knew her name so i could report her. read more

I know everyone prob hates the post office. But for some reason this one is not that bad. The lines are never too long. During the holidays its crazy, cant complain there. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. The guy that takes the pick up pink slips is awesome. He searched for 20mins for a package that wasn't picked up for about a month. Luckily it wasn't returned and he found it, made a joke and smiled. The only bad experience I have had is with customers that huff and puff because they are in line. People its a post office, I would rather they be slow and make sure my package gets to its right location, then they try to go fast and misenter a zip-code and my package ends up in Alaska. read more

This may be the worst place ever. It feels like hell on earth nearly every time I enter this establishment. Clerks are rude, self righteous and otherwise entirely inhuman. Stuart is a nice guy, everyone else (supervisors especially) should have been hugged more when they were children. read more

They are one if the slowest post office's I have been in, the worst, deliver your own mail, it will get there faster, waiting time is an hour and better. They suck. Lol read more

We'd give them zero stars if we could. First, they claimed they tried to deliver a package but had no access...but there was access (via a call-box in the entrance). So, we tried calling all morning the next day...busy, busy, busy. I think they leave the phone off the hook. So we called the 800#, and we were given a redelivery number...and then nothing happened on the redelivery date. Then we called back and got a case number to escalate the problem...and nothing. We called back the 800 # a third time and were told it would be forwarded to the District Consumer Affairs dept...but we're shellshocked by now. BTW, each time we called the 800#, we had to wait about 40 minutes on hold. Are they really this bad all of the time??? Our package is MIA, and the support is horrible. read more

If I could give this a negative rating I would. They steal your packages, says delivery was attempted, never is- I work from home. The line is unbelievable and the service is terrible. Their staff here is the rudest, worst customer service I have ever experienced. They are clearly unhappy in their lives and jobs and take it out on the customers. I want to love from my amazing apartment just so I don't have to deal with them. If we all complain and write reviews, I'm sure we can bring about a change. Help your community guys! I will be bringing this up at the upcoming crown heights board meeting. read more

Nah NEGATIVE stars for this post office (The mail carriers and the people who work at the actual post office ) Let's start with the mail carries who never put slips in but online it says there was a slip rarely deliver on the delivery day when it says it's supposed to be delivered I'll stay home and no one will ring or knock but it'll say delivery attempted ummm HOWWWWWWWWW ..The people that work there have the nastiest attitudes nastyyyyy for absolutely no reason.Dang do all of you hate your jobs that much ..The post office in general is not a pleasant experience but this gotta be the WORST .. read more

Unfortunately , I was not able to give less than 1 star! This post office is one of the worst I have ever been. My mail does not get scanned, they constantly loose packages or just can't find them. The employees have major attitudes and everyone always seems to be on a break. read more

The staff are incredibly unhappy to be here, and wholly unprofessional. They left me a pink slip saying that my package was at the post office on St. Johns Place, almost 1.5 miles away, wasting more than 2 hours of my time in travel and waiting in line. When I finally did arrive at 315 Empire, they were understaffed to handle the whopping 12 people who were there, and were downright rude and dismissive. In another instance, I received zero pink slips (after months of missing a package with no word whatsoever) and got a call from my mother that her package to me was returned after 5 failed attempts. ...??? read more

If i had 1 hour left to live I'd spend it in this post office because it feels like an eternity!

This is probably one of the worst PO... constantly getting notices for attempted delivery with no pink slips left behind. Called to complain, the supervisor was nonchalant and our call got "disconnected". Lines are always out the door and postal workers move at snail speed, they lack hustle SMH A better team is needed at that location read more

HELL MIGHT EVEN BE BETTER THAN THIS PLACE!!! Very unprofessional staff to many mistakes made with packages, long waiting times!!!!

I think you must have to be rude to work at the USPS. I am sure there are some lovely locations ... this is not one of them. They have lost a certified letter of mine and could care less. My fill in mail carrier said they tried to deliver it and left a notice ... not true as I was home at the time that is stated when I tracked it. I am so over the USPS. read more

I have been calling this post office to have my mail delivered (which I had a hold put on because of travel) and someone picks up phone and always hangs up. I'm not sure why this post office exists still. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

Where the hell is the negative 5 star button?? This post office makes me curse! It is always dirty, unorganized, and there is never an effort to try and move things along when they see that the line is stretching out and around Nostrand avenue! Once you are at the window I will say that the staff is okay. I'm a little less critical of them because in all honesty a lot of you people go up to the window and act like this is your first visit to a post office! Come on now. There's no excuse for that. Moving on to the mail delivery....either they have blind people sorting the mail or they have started hiring illiterate people. EVERY DAY! AND I'M REALLY NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY EVERY DAMN DAY! I GET MAIL THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO ME, MY NEIGHBOR OR ANYONE ELSE ON THE BLOCK!! Why???? If I live at 211 Brooke Lane and I get mail from, lets just say 211 Crooke lane, then yeah I get it. But to get mail from street addresses that in no way resemble my address every damn day is not acceptable. I collect the mail for a week and have to make weekly visits to the post office to drop off a BAG of mail because it was delivered to the wrong address. So starting next week I've decided to take a picture of my mail every day and at the end of the month write a nice long email to whomever the post master is and attach all the photos. I've complained about this to the local post office several times but they don't seem to hear me. People keep forgetting how serious mail really is. I'm going to see if I can find someone to remind them. read more

Checked the mail today to see a slip from the USPS that says "Sorry we missed you!" and a date that my package would be available for pick up. Here's the catch... it's Saturday and my roommate and I have been home all day! It would have been nice if they at least tried ringing the buzzer as, like everyone else in this city, I have a busy schedule and it's hard to make time to go out of my way to get a package that could have been delivered one of the few times I was actually home. read more
