I hereby declare that I will never visit this post office again. I have promised myself this many times in the past two and a half years that this has been my home post office, and many times in the hours and hours and hours I have spent waiting to send or receive packages here. Today is the last day I will be abused by this post office and the sadistic woman who works the line and "looks" for packages. I have been here for over an hour (a relatively short visit) and she has decided that my package is not at this post office. Not surprisingly, the tracking information says that it is. Oh wait, they just found it. Magic. There is nothing in the world I want to send or receive badly enough that I will come back to this post office. Everyone working here is rude. They're all government workers with great benefits and decent pay. Yet, the women in here have nasty attitudes. Usually, my dad is able to pick up my parcels for me. Sometimes, he has some himself. When I showed ID, I was told to go home and wait for the truck driver to come upstairs. They told me they missed the delivery date. I switched it to the next day, yet I was told I was wrong. The woman even caught an attitude. This place should be shut down ASAP or find employees who are decently trained in customer service. Worst post office ever. The 'notice left' slips are never actually left and I have to go online and search the tracking number to find where my package is. And then, even when I go to the post office, and the tracking number says it's there, they STILL CAN"T FIND IT! Had many a package returned to sender as undeliverable because they lose it at the post office there. Prepare for an exercise in futility whenever you go there. I wish I didn't have to give it one star. The post office accidentally gave me someones package, even though they checked my ID. The branch manager, Sheila Nelson, called me up the Friday before July 4th and asked I BRING it back. After the holiday, I returned it and she rude. I understand that people have bad days, but she inferred that I stole money from the package. Once she found the $50 bill, she didn't even apologize or SAY THANK YOU. My God, I've used this post office for many years and it only seems to get worse. The line is always long and even if it doesn't seem long the lack of ppl working there makes it become longer. Mgmt is pretty rude and everyone works like they just don't care. The place is usually pretty messy as well. I work in Manhattan and the post offices out there looks like the government actually cares about customers. Why is this not the same everywhere. An why doesn't every post office have the kiosk? The interior could use a renovation and a paint job. The employees are rude and unprofessional. The lines are long and moves slowly even when there are more than 3 tellers, which is rare. Are they understaffed or hardly working, who knows?! No one ever picks up the phone if you call the office. Seriously, they should just shut this one down. Notmally really like this post office. the employees typically are nice and the line moves relatively quickly compared to other ny post offices. however, i went in today and had an awful experience. i typically wouldnt review a post office because it's a post office but i feel like this is a serious offense. when i went up to the counter i had extreme difficulty in hearing what the usps worker at the window was saying. i got incredibly confused and flustered because i couldn't hear what she was saying and the employee kept rolling her eyes at me and insinuated that im stupid. i am not stupid. i am hearing impaired. it's not my fault i have difficulty hearing and it doesnt help that she was barely opening her mouth. this whole experience just felt very unfair considering i cant control my hearing abilities and she insinuated i was stupid because i couldnt understand her. maybe she shouldve spoken up when i said i couldnt hear her???? clearly this woman is not accommodating to others needs or abilities. she made me feel bad about not being able to hear. i hope she feels awful for being an ableist and awful person. i wish i knew her name so i could report her. read more

The worst. EVER. They routinely lie and say they attempted delivery but were unable to deliver. Really? Did you try buzzing my apartment? Because I was home ALL DAMN DAY waiting for you. Then you have to go to the dirtiest, slowest, post office to wait around for at least 45 minutes with the surliest government employees in the USA. RUN. RUN NOW. The lines here are horrible, and even after waiting in line for 2 hours or so, there's no guarantee you'll get what you came for. You can also tell the staff must get a lot of shit, and the manager looks like she's dealt with enough of it to not care anymore, so don't come here expecting service with a smile. I have never in my life been treated more rudely than I have by the employees of this post office. I recognize that they likely have an pleasant job, however, their job is still customer service. There is almost always a long line and I have yet to have a positive experience with any of the employees after several visits. I know that the post office is never really a good experience for anyone, but this branch seems to go out of it's way to make mailing or picking up packages a crummy time. If I could get this place 0 stars I would. Terrible service, insane lines, absolutely chaotic. In addition, their post delivery people don't bother actually delivering packages to people's homes. I stayed at home all day (after specifically scheduling re-delivery through USPS website) and the pink slip just miraculously appeared in my mailbox staying I was not there to accept the delivery. We'd give them zero stars if we could. First, they claimed they tried to deliver a package but had no access...but there was access (via a call-box in the entrance). So, we tried calling all morning the next day...busy, busy, busy. I think they leave the phone off the hook. So we called the 800#, and we were given a redelivery number...and then nothing happened on the redelivery date. Then we called back and got a case number to escalate the problem...and nothing. We called back the 800 # a third time and were told it would be forwarded to the District Consumer Affairs dept...but we're shellshocked by now. BTW, each time we called the 800#, we had to wait about 40 minutes on hold. Are they really this bad all of the time??? Our package is MIA, and the support is horrible. read more

Their staff here is the rudest, worst customer service I have ever experienced. They are clearly unhappy in their lives and jobs and take it out on the customers. My experiences here have always been hit or miss. But mostly just miss. Pro tip: if you get a peach slip for a missed package and it says you can pick it up the next day after 9AM, that is a lie. Apparently there is no way they can sort packages from the day before in time so they will make you come back after 12PM. Why they don't put the accurate time on the slip is beyond me. Any time I receive anything larger than a letter, they withhold the package requiring me to go into the post office to retrieve it. If I could, I would change my Amazon Prime account to choose any carrier other than USPS for this reason. I know everyone prob hates the post office. But for some reason this one is not that bad. The lines are never too long. During the holidays its crazy, cant complain there. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. The guy that takes the pick up pink slips is awesome. He searched for 20mins for a package that wasn't picked up for about a month. Luckily it wasn't returned and he found it, made a joke and smiled. The only bad experience I have had is with customers that huff and puff because they are in line. The staff are incredibly unhappy to be here, and wholly unprofessional. They left me a pink slip saying that my package was at the post office on St. Johns Place, almost 1.5 miles away, wasting more than 2 hours of my time in travel and waiting in line. When I finally did arrive at 315 Empire, they were understaffed to handle the whopping 12 people who were there, and were downright rude and dismissive. It is always dirty, unorganized, and there is never an effort to try and move things along when they see that the line is stretching out and around Nostrand avenue! Once you are at the window I will say that the staff is okay. I'm a little less critical of them because in all honesty a lot of you people go up to the window and act like this is your first visit to a post office! Come on now. There's no excuse for that. So starting next week I've decided to take a picture of my mail every day and at the end of the month write a nice long email to whomever the post master is and attach all the photos.
