This is literally the most incompetent service I have ever been forced to deal with. I have to call (literally) about once a week to the customer service office because they simply refuse to redeliver packages. I have never receieved a pink slip about missing a package ever. I have to constantly track it on my own. I have directed that my packages be dropped off at my door since I have a very small mailbox. I can't count how many times I have checked to see that a package was stated as delivered at my mailbox and there is nothing in my mailbox. I am also currently dealing with a package that has now been scheduled for redeliver THREE times. I am currently on my 6th case right now as I am on hold with customer service. If you have a missing package call customer service! This is the only way I have ever been able to get any of my "delivered"/rescheduled delivery packages. The number is 18002758777. What have I done to deserve this??!! Maybe in a past life I was a horrible individual and this post office is here to deliver the Karma because literally its the only thing that gets delivered here. Let's be honest, most people like myself who live in the neighborhood have 0 choice in where our items get delivered but this here is beyond ridiculous. I am a serious online shopper and because I work all day I am almost never home when certain packages arrive. The lines are ALWAYS at the door. In the 6 years I've been in the area,I've only lucked up once to have my wait less then 30+ minutes. The employees are pretty much useless. I've had packages here and they suddenly "can't find it" and never offer an explanation as to why. Yes I'm sure they are overworked but who isn't these days? I have resorted to paying for express delivery whenever possible just to avoid this hell hole like the plague. When I am unfortunate and have to come here I immediately regret it. For the year I lived in the neighborhood, I was constantly missing mail. I would go days without anything, then get little stacks of mail with postage dates weeks apart. One time I heard the USPS truck outside my window, so I headed towards the door since I was waiting for a package. I opened it to find the postman walking back toward the truck and a pink slip already on my door. He didn't even ring the bell; he had pre-written the slip!! Plus, the odds of no one, between me and my three roommates and the three people who lived below us, all not having any mail that day is slim. Since then, I have moved, I completed a change of address form. While I tried to change my address for any major business I expected mail from, I;m sure something had to have slipped through the cracks in my mind. In 6 months, I have only received 1 piece of forwarded mail. No junk, no credit card offers, nothing. On top of that, there are things I know weren't forwarded, like my W-2 from a previous job, etc. I have called the branch and I've been told "we'll look and see if we find your mail and send it to you" but at this point hadn't given the lady my new address to check into. So I asked does she need to write my information down, and she said no, that actually only the careers might know and they were out delivering, so call another day. So before I called her out about not having even written down my info, she lied and said she would look into it. I know how a post office is supposed to operate. At least in other (obviously more organized) cities. Each address has a tiny box and when the mail comes in, the sorters separate everything into their appropriate boxes. Then the carriers come and take the mail from the boxes that belong on their route and go on their way. When you submit an address change, a notice stays in that tiny box for a full year so that the mail sorter knows to readdress everything in that box after everything is sorted and the mail carrier for the original address doesn't take it to be delivered. Long story short, aside for ONE sad, lonely letter, I'll never know what wasn't forwarded to me. I guess If i was missing mail when I lived there, my hopes of anything ever being forwarded were just way too high. Smh read more

It truly is one of the worst post offices I've ever had to deal with. If someone unwittingly sends me a package and I have to go here to pick it up, it takes multiple visits for them to FIND the package. I challenge you to call and have a person answer the phone, it's always either busy or goes unanswered, and I mean for days at a time. Others have mentioned the confusion and chaos regarding how the ask, or don't ask, people to line up, and I've had my mail carrier deliver our mail in the rain and in the snow with the bag wide open the whole time, literally soaking all the mail. The people may be reasonably nice enough, just major major incompetence. I get things delivered to Tiger Lily for $5 a pop if I have to. read more

Set up a pickup online and the Postal worker not only ignored the request and the package in my mailbox CLEARLY marked for pickup up but they lied and said they DID pick it up. One week later and several notes and attempts to print out the pick up request and it's still ignored. Tonight I came home and the post carrier had just thrown my mail onto the floor of my foyer. Called USPS and they said I had done everything right and that this guy was not only not doing his job but being an asshole. If it goes nowhere I'm going to use the Inspector General complaint former also listed on Yelp. I did that last time and got results. As I've had no problem getting packages since my review last summer, I thought our problems had been resolved. They still do the "ding and ditch" that I find infuriating - they ring your bell if you have a package but don't answer you when you say "hello?" This is the absolute worst post office. It needs to new management immediately. The entire post office should be fired and re-staffed. This post office lost 30 or more of my wedding invitations. I mailed them out of the post office to ensure that my invited guests would receive their invites. (I thought that this was safer then dropping them in a local mailbox.) Instead, this post office managed to lose 30 plus invitations and those are the ones that I know about. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. If I could leave -10 stars, I would. This is truly embarrassing for USPS and not to mention I am beyond furious that so many invitations were lost. Due to the incompetence and lack of efficiency, I have to follow-up and call everyone to see if they received their wedding invite, which they probably have not, thanks to this post office. I also put the return address on the back of the envelope and NOT one invitation has been returned which further confirms that this poorly ran post office misplaced them. The customer service sucks with all of the cliché bad attitudes, laziness, lack of information, rudeness and too many more to mention. Same story as everyone else -- On the one hand, the mishandling of packages by the carriers, failure to properly deliver them (or even attempt to), and complete lack of care or regard for other peoples' personal items, is absolutely appalling. On the other hand, the people working in the office are also wholly unconcerned, unhelpful, and frankly, really very horrible to talk to. Aside from the literal failure to deliver my mail, these people fail to deliver on any "promises" they make to you, like going to look for your item in the office, or calling you back with any sort of update. I've lost countless hours trying to reach them on the phone, brain cells listening to the stupid USPS advertisements for international delivery at the low price of $36.99, and, OH YEAH, two packages. I usually like to write reviews after more than one visit (unless its just too horrible to return) but I figure how many times do I actually go to the physical post office so one visit will suffice. I just moved to the area into an apt building. I ordered all my furniture decor through target or overstock worldtrade. Since I work 2 jobs I'm never there to get a package. Luckily the mailman left a nicely filled out card for 2 of my 5 notices. My other notices were left by beyond stupid ups and fedex who left my packages with my neighbor who I never meet. I don't even know why the "left with neighbor" box is there and used unless I say so. I could hate my neighbor. The other ups notice said "2L (arrow) put 2R" which I figured they mean left with my neighbor. After calling and complaining to stop leaving things with my neighbor I went over to pick up my packages at the post office who like real professionals left a notice and safeguarded my items. My building door is always open in the day so they could have just left it at my door which was my fear but after calling they assured me they would not do that and the woman on the phone was even a joy to speak with. I went a bit after opening and only 2 tellers and 1 customer before me. The lady in front needed help with a package and the teller was very friendly and got out quickly. When I was up she greeted with a smile and just needed my photo id and notices. As I waited the teller next to me and a lil old man laughed as he complimented her nails. Everything was just so quick and pleasurable. A nice British man even walked me out and multiple said bye have a good day on my way out. It seems like bizarro world to the other reviews but I was winning that day. I've also always gotten mymail just fine so far. 3/5 since I'm so new to area and still have a few more items in processing that something can go wrong. But they're moving in the 4/5 direction. read more

If you live in the area serviced by this post office, avoid at all costs having your package sent via USPS. They are all but incapable of redelivery, should you not be home for delivery of the package. Moreover, they are all but incapable of picking up packages that you've paid for with online postage, despite the fact that USPS offers this pickup service. read more

What else is there to add to what others have said. They do not even TRY to deliver packages. I've waited nearly two months for a package and still haven't received a Christmas gift that was sent to me. They lie about delivery attempts. The pink slips (when they actually leave them) don't bother to include tracking numbers most times. Several of mine have simply read "large brown box." Good luck finding that in what's certainly a room full of tossed boxes and envelopes. Once, the window agent LOST the slips she took to the back. She walked all of 15 steps and lost several pink pieces of 4x6 paper? The worst part is they're not ashamed or appalled at the conditions. They just shrug. The place is always packed because no one is getting proper delivery so customers must do the PO's job and show up to get their own mail. We should march on this place. Absolute worst post office. Leave at least an hour to pick anything up. I heard from two people in line that this is the worst post office in all of NYC- I believe it!! Good Times. I've lived in many of the great areas of NYC over the years, & this is BY FAR the WORST of them all, no doubt. The service @ the P.O. Isn't all that bad, but bThe damn service is SHIT. This is by far the WORST branch of the USPS I have ever encountered. In the 3 years that it has been my post office, my mail has been delivered to every neighbor I have except me so often that I have changed my delivery apt to another neighbor in the building just so I could get it! When I lost my house keys once, mailbox key included, it took over 6 MONTHS to get them to change the CORRECT lock so I could access my mail. I wrote to customer service repeatedly, spoke to postal employees at this branch as well as 2 different managers to no avail.... I am ECSTATIC to be moving from the neighborhood just so I can avoid this branch!!! UGH!! read more

If the mail people would simply KNOCK on the door or TRY to do their job beyond just the absolute minimum...then maybe they wouldn't have so many lost packages, angry customers and long lines. They don't care. They simply just don't care about you or your mail...the management obviously does not properly train their employees and must also treat them with very little respect. At this point I have no other outlet than to leave a Yelp review, so here I go: DO NOT SHIP LARGE PACKAGES THROUGH THIS POST OFFICE. THEY WILL STEAL ITEMS IN THE BOX AND CLAIM NO LIABILITY. Every post office everywhere sucks. But I have never experienced anything even remotely as maddening as this until now. I recently moved to the area from out of state and shipped several boxes full of household goods. Nearly all of my kitchenware arrived shattered/bent/broken from being thrown around so much. (Even the stuff completely wrapped in bubble wrap.) But that's not even what I'm mad about at this point. I received two boxes last Saturday, one of which was torn open on the side (see my photo). The tape was completely in tact as I had shipped it, though. When I opened the package, I found all of my steak knives, forks, boxes of tea, chopsticks, cooking gloves, and other random items were missing from the box. I packed the boxes myself and made detailed lists of what went in each, so I know what was supposed to be in there. I also found a crumpled up postal document (see my photo) inside the box. My items were obviously stolen by a postal worker, and the paper fell in when they opened the box. I went to this office as my boxes were delivered by them and was told by an extremely defensive and rude woman that they could not help me in any way. I called the customer service number (for the third time) and was finally able to speak to a person after punching more numbers than on my social security card. I filed a detailed claim and received a call back this morning saying, and I quote, that they are not responsible for ANY damaged packages or "lost" items, which apparently means employees can steal contents freely, and that I am not a candidate for any refund or compensation as my package was uninsured. I went there today at about 11:30 am. An Amazon package was not received on Monday. The USPS website said there was a notice left, but I did not find one. The line was long, really long. Some girl said she was there already there for 45 minutes. One day I hope the post office station gets automated. You walk in, go to a kiosk and out comes your package via robotic sorting. I have a couple of other Amazon deliveries I am concerned about. I'm letting that stuff go back. Going forward, I am going to use the Amazon lockers as much as possible. No freakin hassle. There is one at a 7-11 on Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood and another 7-11 on Metropolitan Ave in Middle Village. Good luck everyone. Shame on u USPS, it is 2016. Two stars because the people at the window were nice and friendly today. The overall set up of this post office sucks. There's two lines ..one long line (always) for package pickup and another for everything else. The package pickup line is ridiculously long, they should have more windows open all the time because it's soooo overcrowded in there and people on the line tend to get irritable and loud when they have been waiting for too long. My suggestion is if you need to pick up a package go early in the AM/try and be the first one there. read more

I sent a parcel to my son, via USPS' General Delivery service, to the Bushwick USPS Station (Brooklyn, NY) at 1369 Broadway. When you send a General Delivery parcel, it gets delivered to the post office it's addressed to, and they hold the parcel for ten days or until the addressee picks it up (I know this from almost 20 years with USPS). I've used this service with my son for decades, and never had a problem when I sent parcels to Boston for him, but this Bushwick Station has messed things up royally. The USPS online tracking service says the parcel was delivered to Brooklyn, NY on Dec 1st at 6:13AM. It was then scanned received, again, in the same office, at 6:18AM and then again at the Bushwick Station office at 9:13AM. It was then scanned as Out For Delivery at 9:24AM. It's a General Delivery parcel, which doesn't go out for delivery!! At 9:54AM, it says it was Delivered, Left With Individual, which means it was hand delivered to the recipient themself. How could that be, when it's a General Delivery parcel, and it's supposed to stay within the post office, not go out for delivery?? At 9:59AM, it was scanned Insufficient Address. How can a parcel addressed to the address that USPS has, for its own postal facility, no less, be insufficient??! It was scanned in the proper facility- the Bushwick Station, so the address was apparently correct! And if it was hand delivered to the recipient, how can the address be insufficient- it's a General Delivery?! There are no scans for 2 full days, until it was scanned Return To Sender Processed on Dec 3rd, at 4:19PM. The parcel is supposed to be held within the specific postal facility for 10 days, before it's returned to sender! I called the 1-800-ASK-USPS number to get the phone number for this specific Bushwick facility, to get the exact story about what's going on, but all it gives you is the 1-800 number again. I went ahead and called the 1-800 number again, but it's a voice activated, automated line and there is no selection for this specific problem, nor to speak with a live rep. I went through every single selection I could, repeatedly calling over and over, for more than an hour, then finally got a selection that would let me speak to a rep for technical assistance, but the declared wait time is "over one hour". I gave up and got driven to an actual local brick and mortar post office. They said there is nothing they can do, that I have to call the 1-800 number, and that that is exactly how they'd help me...by calling the same number. They also said "they had no one to wait on hold for over an hour", so to call it from home. Like I have an hour or more to sit and wait for someone to answer, but they don't?? How in the world do you get a situation resolved, when USPS controls all access to their live people and to individual postal facilities, yet refuses you (and apparently ALL postal workers) access to them?? USPS's online and telephone customer service are the poorest excuses for "service" I have ever experienced. Do you want to wait well over an hour to speak with someone, and then wait even longer to take a survey that no one acknowledges, or gives feedback to? Why bother?! If there were a way to give ZERO STARS, I would use it. I still have no info on why the parcel is being returned, and why I paid over $8 for a service I didn't receive. read more

Worst post office I've had to visit. I tracked both of my packages online and it said that the post man 'attempted' to deliver my packages. When I get to the post office there was already a line at 9:30am. There was one window open for pickup and 2 windows open for full service (how that makes sense to management; I don't know). I finally get to the teller at around 11:30am for them to finally tell me at 12pm that the idiot post man took my package out again for delivery. The supervisor lets my know that the package should be delivered to my home around 2/3 o clock that day. Great. I track the package....another attempt was made at 6:55pm, when I was home, to deliver the package. That's just a lie. I have also tried calling the phone number multiple times but it doesn't even ring. Just an automated response, which lets me know how much the workers care. On several occasions, I was home waiting for them to deliver, only to find a sticker on my door. They won't even ring your doorbell. This post office is an embarrassment and a complete hellhole. The package pick up line is always horrendous. 1 hr wait and 50+ people on line every time i've been there. The supervisor is never available or helpful. The phone number is never answered or is busy. The mailman for route 5 is not helpful either. Fire all of them. Awful. Mailed a package from MA to NY, last known location was this post office, then out for delivery. The package has been missing for almost 2 weeks now, with no update after 'out for delivery'. I filed a claim, and Ms. Bacchus responded with 0 updates and 0 resolutions. She said it was delivered to their post office, and then they lost it or can't find it. She did not offer to keep looking for it or anything, basically told me there is 'nothing we can do, it's lost & that's it'. Unfriendly and unhelpful. Inept!!!!! Email indicated Carrier says they attempted delivery last night at 10:54PM!!! but they did not. Never left a notice on my door. The email I received indicated to pick up from post office but it was not there. This post office was major chaos for people getting other people's mail, not getting their packages and having to pick up at post office. If you want a taste of hell on earth, go here on a Saturday morning- it'll really build character. I came here to submit my passport and after waiting 40 minutes in line, they told me I needed an appointment. Let's rewind to my time in line, first, a woman passing by the line didn't say "excuse me" loud enough so another woman got upset and started yelling and making a fuss about it. They start arguing, loudly, and we are all just so unamused. Then, a worker was getting ready to start her shift and we were all excited cuz now there will be 3 booths open instead of 2 on a Saturday morning (re-evaluate staffing during rush times/days). A guy went over to her booth and she yelled at him saying she wasn't ready and turned her computer monitor around to prove it. Not a "sorry sir, I am not ready but will let you know the moment I am"... no we got a straight up "IM NOT READY U THINK IM LYIN??!!!" Then started talking crap about him to her co-workers (wtf). I wasn't even phased by this because living in NY has taught me that customer service is "good" about 20% of the time and you either accept it or move out to a nicer state. Ok, so the above shouldn't REALLY hinder my experience but what did was when it was *~finally~* my turn and I told her I just needed to submit and pay for my passport, she talked to an employee quickly & said I needed to have an appt. Now sure, I get it, passports take extra time, but nowhere did it say that you needed an appt at their store or on the website. Mind you, I had walked 15 mins in a snowstorm to the Ralph location where there was a sign that stated passports needed an appt. so I walked to THIS location. Once I got to this particular location, I looked around for about 10 mins making sure there weren't any signs of this. I also had gone here a week prior to submit it (I had the wrong type of birth certificate) and they never said I needed an appt. Extremely frustrating after walking 15 mins in angled snow, having a migraine, waiting in line for 40 minutes with a bunch of idiots, and just being rejected like that with no real merit. Note to management: give your employees some boot camp lessons in Customer Service and Customer Experience. Don't hire people who HATE people. It's a shame because there are some decent workers there but these jerks with zero manners ruin it for them. I would say good luck but luck isn't what you need for this mad house. read more

Stolen packages, never leaving a pink slip, the postman not locking the mailboxes in front of our building so all mail could be taken by any passerby (cause why bother locking it, right?) I agree with Chris G who says 'articles that pass through this post office enter some form of purgatory' I came up with a solution from Amazon, though. With enough complaints from USPS recorded Amazon has changed my account so it only gets shipped from UPS. No more USPS. And other online vendors I'll choose another carrier. I also learned that Amazon called and made a formal complaint against the carrier who blatantly lied about attempting to deliver a package, 2 different times, and who didn't even have the decency to leave a slip, at either of his two 'attempted deliveries.' So I will be procuring the post office's phone number and making formal complaints from here on out. Hopefully it'll get the carriers to actually do their jobs.
