everyone makes mistakes. that's what makes us all human. but it's what you are willing to do to rectify an error. that's what makes an average person a truly exceptional person. i normally only like to write reviews for terrible service because that gives me great pleasure to point out ppl that just suck to all hell. and for sure a post office is usually an easy target for a negative review but not this go. i want to take time to point out how the manager at the Bushwick Post office 11221 Jason F. went above and beyond to find my package. a new courier on my route named Kiana M. made a massive blunder in delivering my package to the wrong address. because she was new she really couldn't remember exactly which house she dropped it to. to make mattered more impossible, she marked the package 'delivered' so customer service by phone was basically telling me to take the L. seriously, the one lady i called said: are you sure it's not in your mailbox?! I'm like lady, if there was a full on coat in my mailbox, i'm sure i would have noticed it. she wasn't smart or fun to talk to but i digress. i went to the 11221 post office where i was directed to the supervisor. he saw the seriousness in my face that this package wasn't disposable butt wipes from Amazon and this thing needed real deal attention. the brother hopped in an official FBI type post office vehicle like Denzel n Training Day and drove to my block and started ringing doorbells...NO BULLSHIT! took my number and said he will reach out when he gets hold of the courier. the next day i was driving home from work and CRAZY...Jason was on my block ringing doorbells again! truly an impressive display of customer service. still no package though. after the 4th day i was ready to call it quits. do you remember that scene in Rocky when the music comes in to hype Rocky up and he gets back in there and starts whipping Mr. T's ass?! In comes KIANA!!! i saw her on my block in the big post office ice cream truck ringing doorbells!!! i was like...ohhhhh! Guess what....SHE FOUND IT!!! i could see her through my door video camera smiling from ear to ear soooo happy and man i tell you, seeing the joy and pride on her face, that made me happier than getting the package itself. maybe Jason said she was likely going to get in some kind of trouble which i obviously wouldn't have wanted but she made the effort and saved the day!!! did i mention, she was out on SUNDAY!? she was so apologetic i asked to give her a damn hug. don't get it twisted, covid is still out here kickin asses but i was just so proud of this beautiful spirited young woman's efforts i had to. if you find yourself at the 11221 post office, do yourself a favor and see if you can meet the manager there Jason F. or the beautiful young lady Kiana M. not only are they fantastic at their work because they take great pride in what they do but they are fantastic human beings. they could have written me off but they met words with action and did what they said they would do. give them both a pleasant smile when you see them for me. now Nikki that works the counter and the light skinned Black dude that was looking at me like i had a foot growing out the side of my face for asking him a question you can give them both the stink eye. dude was moving his neck, head n shoulders around talking to me like he was auditioning to be a back up dancer for a Beyoncé video. Nikki forgot to call me but whatever, she was sorry and got me to Jason so all n all she ended up being super cool too. happy holidays yo. read more

Received this message on tracking site "We attempted to deliver your item and a notice was left because no secure delivery location was available." No attempt to deliver was made so I went to post office 5 mins after they opened. There was a long line and took me 2 hours to get to the counter. Was then told that no worker showed up the day before and that I would need to come in at the end of the week and wait in line again to pick up my package. read more

They closed my lost package inquiry without ever contacting me and then when I went in person to ask about it gaslit me entirely. $400 package lost and they have 0 accountability and never attempted to help. The Bushwick USPS location on Broadway offers the worst mail delivery I've ever experienced in New York City, and it's seemingly only getting worse over the years. Postal deliverers have lost an excess of two hundred dollars in packages over the past several years, and the USPS office has provided zero help in providing clarity on insurance/missing mail claims or locating packages incorrectly marked as delivered/delivered to incorrect addresses. Mail deliverers have turned the package locker of my apartment building's multi-address cluster box into to an abandoned relay mail box which they then ignore. They've abandoned well over a hundred pieces of mail--a number of which were marked as important and time-sensitive--for dozens of addresses in a five block radius. I've had to drop off reams of their discarded mail BACK in the neighborhood mailbox, in hopes that they'd finally reach its intended recipients. In addition, they've all but ignored the letters and parcels now clogging the Outgoing Mail slot of the same cluster box. In short, postal workers at this USPS location have lost a number of packages whose total value is in the hundreds, routinely abandon the mail they should be delivering, and the physical office has provided zero assistance after the fact. It's honestly bizarre how bad the mail delivery is. edit: a month after I dropped their lazily abandoned mail back in the neighborhood mail box, they've begun using my building cluster box's parcel locker to abandon mail, yet again. new photo attached. read more

My local post office. Service can be mixed but overall pretty good. There are long lines during the holidays and sometimes it seems short staffed. My advice is to go in the morning for short lines and best service. Some of the clerks are curt but they're helpful. The other day I had to mail something internationally and the clerk double checked quickly to make sure the postage was correct. read more

Once again after being assured that due to the winter storm that we had they were going to hire more help to help with the packages that were backed up, and after being reassured by a call that no my package would not go back to the sender GUESS WHAT! Yesterday I received a notification that my pay was delivered! So I go home look for my package no package... I look at the cameras hmmm no usps driver.... Then I carefully look at the delivery message... yeah they delivered it all right but back to the sender... At this point I call the sender and tell him what happened, I even tell him that I'm willing to pay again to have it shipped but he tells me ok he will ship it I don't have to pay again for shipping.. I DONT KNOW WHO LOOKS AT THESE COMMENTS FROM THE USPS BUT COME ON THIS BRANCH REALLY REALLY NEEDS RETRAINING... you call them they are too busy, you want to leave a message but you can't THE ELECTRONIC MAILBOX IS FULL!!! This post office is the worst. From time to time you'll find a nice clerk, but in general they're all rude, with attitude and take their frustrations on the customers. they lack initiative, sense of urgency and are lazy as hell. There are 5 windows to attend people, but only one or two is ever open at a time. In the meantime, other clerks keep walking back and forth in the back while there's a huge line waiting to be assisted. It's ridiculous. Update I did my passport with other usps post office and they approved my passport, I'm now waiting for my passport book and card to be mailed, I will be filing a report on the overweight red hair Hispanic lady since she said I wasn't a "legal" citizen after offering up all my documents and verifying my identity. She was very rude and lied to me the whole time after catching in the lie (horrible liar btw shes like 60 making up lies for fun rather then actually being honest about federal policy), she is just not fit to be working at a post office doing passport applications especially when she doesn't know what she's doing and lies to cover up that . read more

It is definitely a 1star. I looked it up on the website said they open at 8am. The line starts at 8am, they didn't open the doors until 815am. The good thing was that you were allowed to wait in the lobby area. At 819 the first customer was called... woohoo!. The saddest thing is how filthy the place is. You kind of have low expectations when you think of your local post office, but this place is just really bad, the employees are lazy and don't care, they can't even make the smallest amount of effort to do their job, not sure what they are actually getting paid for, maybe getting paid to have bad attitudes?? people were lining up for money orders, waiting 30 minutes for them to get to the front of the line and find out they had none. Why not put a sign up to not waste peoples time?? They misplaced my package, went back twice and neither person could find it, I finally filed a complaint and the package showed up the next day once the office manager got involved. To sum it up this place sucks, but they have you by the balls because you need USPS so what can you really do besides just suffer. read more

This post office is absolutely trash. The young woman almost always tells me my packages are out for redelivery even if a redelivery hasn't been rescheduled. Every single time she helped me, she can't find my package. But when I go to someone else, the package magically appears. Today, the 2nd person to help me was on a personal call and as I was trying to explain I didn't schedule for a redelivery, she interrupted me multiple times to tell me it went out anyway. I asked her to check and all of a sudden, she brings my package out with an attitude. You would think I forced these people to apply for these positions they clearly do not want. Very unprofessional staff. Went here to apply for my son's passport in which we had a scheduled appointment. When we arrived to the location there is no signage posted on where to go for passport services. We just jumped on the regular line (which was very long) to only find out that there was a special counter just for passports. We literally wasted our over 30 mins on that line. When we finally arrived to the window the clerk a nasty attitude informing us that she will not service us because we were late for our time and she had to leave. I explained the situation to her, but it made no difference. The "manager" on duty was no more help as she literally asked the original clerk if she wanted to do it and of course she said "no, she was leaving". The "manager" then advised us to go the another office which were accepting "walk-ins" to only find out when we arrived there they were "appointment only' due to COVID. Proper signage and better management could've made this a better experience. read more

The line is always long, ALWAYS LONG! But once you make it to the front (maybe an hour especially during covid times) the agents are nice and welcoming. I don't think I've had a bad experience in a while. It's improving, and they're trying to keep everyone safe. Just make sure you come with some patience. Because it's definitely not a walk in and walk out kinda deal. More like wait an hour in line outside (depending on the day and time you go) then another 30 mins inside on another line waiting to speak to an agent. Not too bad. This is one of the worst post offices that I have ever been to. The staff for the most part are rude. They lack organizational structure. The carriers fail to deliver packages but leave slips implying that they attempted. When you come to the post office, things are in such clutter that they can't find things. I have been waiting for close to an hour for a package that they can't find that I actually received a slip for. The clerk is flippant and is working my nerves with her incorrect information. I have no choice to come to this post office twice a month due to work. This location is the absolute worse due to not enough workers. The staff is very knowledgeable and they do the best that they can which makes this post office somewhat decent. But the customers who come here to make transactions make it so difficult for a steady flow. This place is ALWAYS packed no matter what time & day it is! Customers take up the workers time arguing back and forth with the workers especially when shipping packages! Kids are always running up and down screaming which makes it hard to hear the workers. This post office refuses to buzz your apartment to open the door for them. My package has been attempted for "redelivery" for over a week now, and I've been home every day, and nothing. We've left notes on the front door and they either refuse to read them or are lying about redelivery. I try calling constantly and it either rings forever, or they hang up.
