If you want a taste of hell on earth, go here on a Saturday morning- it'll really build character. I came here to submit my passport and after waiting 40 minutes in line, they told me I needed an appointment. Let's rewind to my time in line, first, a woman passing by the line didn't say "excuse me" loud enough so another woman got upset and started yelling and making a fuss about it. They start arguing, loudly, and we are all just so unamused. Then, a worker was getting ready to start her shift and we were all excited cuz now there will be 3 booths open instead of 2 on a Saturday morning (re-evaluate staffing during rush times/days). A guy went over to her booth and she yelled at him saying she wasn't ready and turned her computer monitor around to prove it. Not a "sorry sir, I am not ready but will let you know the moment I am"... no we got a straight up "IM NOT READY U THINK IM LYIN??!!!" Then started talking crap about him to her co-workers (wtf). I wasn't even phased by this because living in NY has taught me that customer service is "good" about 20% of the time and you either accept it or move out to a nicer state. Ok, so the above shouldn't REALLY hinder my experience but what did was when it was *~finally~* my turn and I told her I just needed to submit and pay for my passport, she talked to an employee quickly & said I needed to have an appt. Now sure, I get it, passports take extra time, but nowhere did it say that you needed an appt at their store or on the website. Mind you, I had walked 15 mins in a snowstorm to the Ralph location where there was a sign that stated passports needed an appt. so I walked to THIS location. Once I got to this particular location, I looked around for about 10 mins making sure there weren't any signs of this. I also had gone here a week prior to submit it (I had the wrong type of birth certificate) and they never said I needed an appt. Extremely frustrating after walking 15 mins in angled snow, having a migraine, waiting in line for 40 minutes with a bunch of idiots, and just being rejected like that with no real merit. Note to management: give your employees some boot camp lessons in Customer Service and Customer Experience. Don't hire people who HATE people. It's a shame because there are some decent workers there but these jerks with zero manners ruin it for them. I would say good luck but luck isn't what you need for this mad house. read more

Missing about 6 checks, a renewed license, some christmas cards and letters (within the past month). Mailman from the USPS said maybe we need a bigger mailbox so people won't steal our mail. Mind you, it's a lockable mailbox where fingers cannot fit through. So how exactly will that fix the issue? They need to throw the whole post office away. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING VALUABLE to this post office. Stolen packages, never leaving a pink slip, the postman not locking the mailboxes in front of our building so all mail could be taken by any passerby (cause why bother locking it, right?) But the worst of all is having to go to the actual building. Rude and unhelpful staff and lines that go outside. Saturdays are an absolute purgatory there. I saw the staff members sending a woman with a giant box, a stroller and 2 kids to the wrong window 3 times just for the sadistic fun of it. Where your very life force goes to DIE. I thought nothing could top the 11211 PO, but I was wrong. So very wrong. The scenario goes like this: You are home literally all day expecting a package and no mail carrier in sight. You don't receive a peach slip - nothing. You get your tracking number from the company who shipped it and go online only to find out there was an apparent "attempted delivery." No there wasn't. How do I know this? My apartment window is literally 2 FEET from the front door. You schedule a re-delivery online. They never come. You schedule it again, they never come. You call and schedule a re-delivery. They still don't come. Finally you have to go down there to wait in the pit of eternal, never-ending hell-fire in order to get up to a window - THIS COULD BE HOURS. You get there, same old excuse: "This package is out for delivery" No it's not, because they never come. Still no peach slip. This can go on to infinity with these people, literally sucking hours and days and even months from your life. Scenario 2: Same scenario just with peach slips. You are home all day and the carrier just slips it in your box automatically because they can't be bothered to even carry your package. Repeat above. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. One time, I had a package show up 2 months late. 2 MONTHS. On a Priority Mail Package. This Post Office is the gatekeeper to the 7th dimension of hell, and it's only purpose on this earth is for ultimate pain and suffering of the highest order for all who enter or are forced to deal with it because of geographical location. It literally forces you to contemplate throwing yourself over the cliffs of insanity or burning your very own body in effigy to escape having to interact with it. IT MUST BE DESTROYED. This has to be the worst post office service I've ever experienced. This is my third time not receiving a package. Judging by the other reviews i am not the only one losing money and time over "lost mail". These packages seems to be getting stolen not lost. Horrible over the phone and in person service. Do NOT use the regular USPS website to file a complaint. They direct the complaints to the local post office, and we all know that will do us no good. If you move to the neighborhood, try not to get any mail. Which won't be too hard since they can't seem to deliver your mail to you anyway. I've recently had a missing check cashed - likely due to someone stealing my bank statements from here as well. The office itself is a small corner of hell reserved for those who have the audacity to try and get any work done. Management and employees are typically rude, the lines long, and the office itself looks like a set out of a Mad Max movie. Had a problem here? File a complaint. The worst post office in America is in Bushwick off Wyckoff. 20 minutes past opening hours and still not open. I'm currently standing outside with a line of customers in the RAIN. This place steals your packages. 9/10 package shipments don't arrive. Most days the package delivery truck doesn't even show up. They write "attempted delivery/note left" and just keep my stuff. I have filed multiple complaints with USPS and even wrote my member of congress. But she is probably selling my stuff on eBay. UPS has NO PROBLEM EVER delivery to my apartment even when it snows. read more

Wow this is the worst post office ever. I'm despise giving bad reviews but this is the worst post office I've ever been to. The other night I had a package delivered and they didn't leave a slip on the front door. The next day i went to this pit of hell to go retrieve it and waited on a line for over an hour to be told "Oh well we don't have it, it'll be here tomorrow though". I signed up for that re-delivery but they only had 3 windows open and about 35 customers waiting with me. They locked the doors because it was past 5:30 and people waited about 15-20 min to leave. The staff just laughed.... They didn't even help until more than one person needed help. The only thing this post office branch is capable of is to make sure that when the very second arrives for closing they have a person waiting to lock the door. The concept of customer service is replaced by customer antipathy. The workers are rude, nasty, and have a take it or leave it attitude that is another business in the world would have them fired on the spot. I'm not going to write in details about my problem with this post office. It has been said before by others. All I want to say please CALL USPS AND REPORT THEM!!! 1 (800) 275-8777. USPS has long wait times but if you press 1 and enter your phone number for the call back they will call you back within the time frame the machine estimated. I called twice within this past week, because of the issues with all my packages. After telling them my zip code their response was:"Oh this is Bushwick office!". I guess, our USPS location is very well known there. They will even write complaint for you. It took 5 minutes. They were helpful and very nice. This post office looks like it is in a third world country in the middle of war and famine. When I first walked in I thought I had somehow mistakenly entered an abandoned building. Homeless people sitting on the floor in the corners and against the walls. Are they there all day? I didn't stick around to find out. It's dimly lit and every surface is absolutely filthy, there's garbage all over the floor, all the displays of boxes, insurance slips etc. are empty. Complete chaos. It's not clear where to stand on line, customers are arguing with each other and threatening each other, people are hanging out or wandering around seemingly without a reason to be in a post office, some of them aggressively asking for money from those standing on line. Only two windows open despite 15+ people on line and the line DID NOT MOVE for over 10 minutes. Staff very rude and extremely slow, clearly just going through the motions and don't care about their jobs. Unsafe and AWFUL. If I could give it five negative stars I would. 1 star is too much for it, I would give zero if I could! Worst post office in New York. I sent packages from my online store and the clerk shipped two of them to completely different addresses. Zip code on the box was 22903, she shipped it to 23838 (not even close!!) I guess this happened because she was talking with another person all the time not paying attention to me or to her job. When I noticed the mistakes and came back for the assistance, there was another person, who was rude, refused to give a refund or redirect the packages to the correct addresses. All she said is so what, it will be returned to you because of the insufficient address. Wtf??? These were packages with custom orders over $100 it took 3 days to produce them and now they are going to completely different states! Not to mention that the personnel there is always very rude and arrogant! I don't know how explain it, but when you come to the window you just feel their hate, anyone who's been there definitely will understand what I mean! read more

I normally have really horrible experiences with USPS, but this one was quite pleasant. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was a little discouraged seeing such a long line and only one employee working the window. The line moved so fast and I was in and out in 15 mins, which is a record for me and the post office. The woman behind the window was friendly (also a first for me & the USPS) and provided me with several different options for sending my 30 lb package to the Virgin Islands. I'd continue to go the extra .1 mile out of my way to do business with this location. read more

Worst customer service. EVER. If I could give zero stars I would. The long haired asian woman who works there should be fired immediately- watch out and don't bother asking her ANYTHING. They were out of soft envelopes for priority mail, which I need to use with my printed labels from ebay. I politely asked the woman behind the counter if there were any left, since they were out. She replied "they're to the left" I said "ma'am, they're all out, i checked there. Do you have any more available?"to which she replied "they're to the left" I again told her that I have checked the entire post office, and they are out of the priority mailing envelopes. She didn't even look at me (not once the entire time) and said "theyre to the left" again. I wish I had reached my hand though the hole and choked her. Not that any post office experience ever seems to be a decent one... but this location is the worst one I've been to in New York. After being in the store for 10 minutes and speaking with two different associates, I was turned away by a third person at the counter because they "don't allow pets" despite no signs being posted (neither of the first two associates seemed to care enough to tell me this either). Despite apologizing and admitting that I wasn't aware of the fact, I asked if I could please pay for the mail I needed to overnight as my puppy is too young to go on the streets and I didn't have anyone to watch her outside. I don't think I've ever been spoken to with such hostility in response for a misunderstanding as I was at this establishment or so bluntly and downright ignored. There were 2 lines and people were just cutting each other left and right. It took me 10 minutes to get to the window; there was only 1 person taking customers and there was a long line. US Post Office - Been here since 9am and the line still hasn't moved in 1 hour! - Post Offices Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Without a doubt, this has been the absolute worst postal service I've experienced. I ordered a package from Amazon for a 2-day Sept 5 delivery, which was Labor Day (USPS delivers on Labor Day). Sept 5 arrives and I realize I never received the package. When I check the tracking, it says a delivery was attempted and they left a note. NO NOTE WAS LEFT! The package I ordered was small and could easily fit in my mailbox, so I'm not sure why they would lie and say they left a note when they didn't. I wait a few days for them to redeliver the package, only to find out that I need to schedule a redelivery. I'm annoyed, but whatever. I schedule TWO redeliveries with USPS (Sept 8 and Sept 12) and still no attempt to deliver the package. It is now Sept 24 and I've learned that package is being shipped back to Amazon because it was "unclaimed" the "max hold expired". What? Are you kidding me! Now, you're probably wondering why I didn't try calling the postal service directly. Trust me, I did! Their # does not work and is clearly disconnected. Normally I would go to the facility, but I work full-time and they close when I come back. I am upset, disgusted with the lack of customer care, but I'm thankful Amazon refunded me the money I spent. This has been an absolute nightmare. Please do yourself a favor and use UPS, at least they pretend to care and their local #s work. P.S. Honestly the worst delivery service. Ever. My package is labeled priority yet is 5 days late. Have spoken with a several agents after being over an hour on hold trying to locate my package (and trying to figure out why it just isnt being sent out). Am now so frustrated im just bouta walk up in there and they better have my shit !!! I was here when the original delivery was ""attempted"" but no one ever knocked or actually tried to complete their delivery. Not sure what goes on down there but this service is embarrassing. USPS should maybe invest their focus on their offices located in working class neighborhoods because it sure as hell doesnt even seem like they bat an eye. The place is falling apart and they cant even complete the task. It should just get knocked since it creates more harm than anything else. If there was a way to send your mail via detour to another facility, then please do so. This place is still up and running and only God knows why. The staff here are so unprofessional. During these times of the holiday season, one would think that the post office would be better prepared for the amount of customers who will be coming to pick up items. I literally waited 2 hours and 7 minutes 27 seconds before giving up and leaving. I mean seriously, how do you have only 2 staff members tend to the windows? Whats worse is a few times one of the ladies were on their cell phones, in what appeared to be texting. This place needs to fire the incompetent workers and hire new ones, its no wonder they are losing so much business to other competitors like UPS and Fed Ex. Just another example of how government offices continue to fail us i guess. Please, dont bother sending items from here, you will be met with attitude and unpleasant looks.
