This post office lacks customer service and professionalism. They need new staff that's friendly , and wanting to help and enjoy the job. It's pretty simple. I know working in the post office could be hectic and haptic. But it's no reason they should be rude, nasty, unhelpful and almost incompetent when it comes to where people's packages are and how they can retrieve them. Inefficient staff. There's more than enough employees to cover all windows, but only one service station. 5 employees behind the windows talking amongst themselves about personal matters while the line got longer and longer. We are SICK of these fill-in-mail-carriers & fill-in-package-delivery people, they basically got kids working the route that has no respect for people mail/package. Our house has the USPS key box so they can put our mail/packages in the entryway. Yet we come home find our packages sitting out in the yard open due to trash-go-ers, to mailed work checks damage due to mail being left by carriers on the floor wet/thrown over gate wet due to rain, again damage!!!!!!!! We even have a sign stating do not leave mail or package outside please put in mail box, but yet they still do what they want. And several times when we confronted the different people doing it they refuse to give their names to us. WE ARE SICK OF THE ILL TREATMENT. One of the people today left our mail on the step, as can see in the picture and it's been raining off and on today. This person was covering for our regular mail carrier who is Jeanette (who is amazing), this lady was a young slim woman if this helps any supervisors on Feb. 4th at 2pm covering Macon and Lewis!! This is a true series of interactions that happened to me recently at this post office. Word for word, I swear. I brought a package in to be mailed. Waited in line, got to the front, put it on the counter. The woman said, "FedEx". I said, "what?" She said, "FedEx." I said, "No, I don't want to FedEx it, I want to mail it." She said, "FedEx label." Ah, two words at last! With those two words I understood that she was saying that the box (which I had reused from a package that came to me) had a FedEx shipping label and that she couldn't take it that way. Which, fair enough. So I went off, took off the label, waited in line again and got her again. She looked at the box and said, "no return address." Three words this time! I looked at the box and realized that it was true, I had forgotten to put a return address on the box. Fair enough, but she could have mentioned it the first time. So I went off and added a return address. Waited in line again. The previous worker wasn't there--on break, presumably, from the effort of saying five whole words. So I got someone else. This woman saw a logo on the box (remember, reused box that had been shipped to me) and asked if it was going back to that company. I said no. She said she couldn't ship a box with a company logo unless it was going to or from that company. Stupid rule, but it's not her rule, so I don't blame her. But the other woman looked at my box TWICE and never mentioned this rule! I wasted so much time! I don't blame either of these women for the stupid rules, or for my own mistakes with this box. But oh my god, if you people would communicate, and tell me all of the issues with it at once, we would both save time. Go to another post office if you have the choice. This one sucks. read more

This is a horrible location. I sent mail out over a month ago as priority shipping. The receiver still didn't get the package. As well as no one answers the phone, they don't deliver your mail. This place is Horrible!!! Many post offices aren't much better but this one is pretty terrible. Try to avoid this place at all costs. Make sure you have an entire hour to spend just to be on the safe side. Despite having 5 windows for service and 2 separate windows for picking up held packages, they try to only use two windows for all services so there's honestly never really a line of less than 10 people despite what time you show up. Occasionally, they'll realize that what they're doing is ridiculous and they'll have have someone come out to the package pickup windows to expedite that service; but that is a very rare occurrence. If you're sending a package, especially internationally, please take the time to make sure that they enter your customs information into the system while you're there and that all labels are attached while you watch to the ensure that the package is ready and will depart that day. Some workers are lazy and will put your box to the side and it doesn't get shipped out for over a week from your drop-off date. Also be sure that your package is fully sealed or bring your own tape or else pay $3 for a roll from them. They will not give you a single piece out of courtesy. Enjoy your experience. read more

1915 Fulton Street Post Office needs to be revamped. I ordered a major electronic package that weighed 20 pounds. First, they stated it was in transit. Then when it became clear we were looking for the package they went and stated it was lost. We filed numerous complaints. They are trying to cover their tracks so they closed the complaints and stated they spoke with us. Which they lied. I'm like people are not stupid. We all see what's going on here. Because it's a minority neighborhood they are stealing figuring no one would notice. Yet they complain and say they can't find employment. Take a civil service exam and are appointed to a position. The position does not give you the right to steal from the public. Reading all the Yelp reviews it is time a change takes place with this post office. If the change means people are arrested and fired for stealing so be it. read more

If you order a package through this carrier expect to not receive it. I've lost more packages through this office than received them and it's a very clear recurring issue for many of the people that live here. They will often mark packages as delivered on tracking information when it's not actually delivered and the security footage shows no attempts of delivery. I don't really understand how this is happening but if I want to order a package I now have to avoid this carrier at all costs. If you lose a package from this place you're not getting it. The post office is slow and patronizing. I walked up to the front desk to ask about my missing package and they told me to go to usps.com as if I didn't know the internet existed and wrote it down for me as if I didn't know where I was. In the 3 years I've lived in the 11233 Zip Code I have probably filed 10 complaints against them. It's like you HAVE to be lazy, dishonest and a thief to get hired here. Packages for my building constantly go missing. They get marked as either delivered or delivery attempted. It's always the packages with electronics that go missing. Never the mail itself. The mail carriers all on the (PROSPECT AVE ROUTE) ARE THE WORSE! All of them should be, and need to be REPLACED. Their either talking on the phone, coming up the block with an attitude, complaining about the route, always placing people mail five houses down from the actual location, or three blocks away from the address listed on the mailing address, and placing the mail inside others mailbox in the building, Making it very difficult to get. Sometimes they're fast, sometimes things take forever. If you're trying to reach them by phone, 718-493-6111 works. BUT you have to call them over and over before someone picks up. It took me 20+ calls spread over 3 days to get someone to pick up. Between 12-3PM is best for having a chance for someone to pick up. read more

This is by far the worst post office I have ever had the displeasure of having to use. Their staff is rude, I've made multiple complaints to consumer affairs, spoken to my driver, the manager, customer service reps, and I either never get my packages on time or at all. My regular driver told me that sometimes the other drivers on my route don't even go up the stairs to ring the bell. They've made up this lie about some "man" who waits for them to come by and "deliver" packages and then steals them - they are never consistent with delivery times so how would he plan for that? And how could he steal a package 30 seconds between it being delivered and me getting downstairs? They lie and say they attempted to deliver my packages even though I will be home all day waiting for them. If I schedule a redelivery they never redeliver my packages. I usually have to speak to multiple customer service reps every time I'm expecting a package because it NEVER gets to me. They always have to start multiple investigations and nothing happens. I'm so fucking over this. I honestly believe they are stealing my packages and being super lazy when it comes to them being delivered in the first place, which is strange to me because what else is so important that you can't even do your job correctly? Also NO ONE IN THIS POST OFFICE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE. I CANT KEEP TAKING OFF FROM WORK TO WAIT FOR FUCKING PACKAGES TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ACTUALLY DELIVER THEM OR TO GO UP TO THE POST OFFICE TO WAIT IN LINE IN HOPES THAT THEY ACTUALLY HAVE MY PACKAGES THERE. I went to this post office on May 6, 2021 for a replacement mailbox key. It wasn't lost or broken; I've had it for 21 yrs so I guess it's deteriorated or bent. Today is July 22, 2021 and I am STILL waiting for the mailbox key! TWO MONTHS LATER. If this post office doesn't deserve to be CLOSED DOWN; I don't know why. I want to support the USPS but come on- they can't be bothered to open at 9 a.m. per the hours posted on the door and online. Ok guys so, like most young people, I pay all my bills online, buy gifts online so that they can go directly to the person, and in return I'm usually rewarded with never having to see the inside of my neighborhoods TREACHEROUS post office. Quite frankly I can't imagine there's a post office worse than the one here. For starts, I'm home and my LAZY USPS driver doesn't ring the bell to bring me my box, assuming I'm not home, not feeling like carrying the box for no reason, in a hurry to get to lunch, who KNOWS... Either way you get the dreaded pink slip. When you get your mail and feel the tear come in the corner of your eye because yup... It's post office time. I come to this pitiful place and I'm tenth on line around 430... Office closes at 5. Out of the five windows, TWO ARE OPEN. TWO WORKERS IN ONE OF THE BUSIEST POST OFFICES IN BROOKLYN (yes.. You smell a disgruntled customer) Dude... I turn around fifteen minutes later... The line is all the way to the post office boxes... Aka THE BACK OF THE WHOLE ENTIRE POST OFFICE. After waiting a full 35 minutes I get my package and scoot out of there, trying to miss the riot that's sure to come when everyone realizes one of the post office attendants are going to have to come from behind the glass and stand at the door with the key as to not let anyone else in, and let each person out one by one. Lets not even discuss the rate at which the employees move... Slower than molasses on a 0 degree day. They move like we're in the Deep South and no one has anywhere to be, this is Brooklyn baby... I sent 7 pages in a document envelope to the Disability Department in California in late August 2018. I called the Disability office the first week October 2018. The associate said they never received the document!!! What? This was not acceptable!!! Thank goodness I made a copy of the paperwork. The Shirley A. Chisholm branch Post Office in BedStuy is one of the worst branches in Brooklyn. The employees there have an attitude as if they are doing you a favor. Someone/employees are stealing mail and scanning that it was delivered. I have had packages delivered to my house opened and put in a bag saying that it was damaged on route (except that items were missing out of the package). I have had packages say that they were delivered in the system yet they did not arrive to my house. They need to revamp the entire branch. Possibly get the Postal Police involved to investigate the branch. read more
