I am so tired of this. They express extreme dissatisfaction when you ask to scan a pre-paid package or just simply tell you to drop it in the designated self service window with no live person there. So today is the day 4 since I used self service and dropped 2 packages in their designated window and they are not tracking. So I am losing money. read more

The place is too dark, poor lighting, reminds me of a haunted place. The service is excellent since I moved to the neighborhood 2 months ago. My problem is mail delivery. They do passports here and I feel bad for the tellers because they have to deal with alot of stupidity from the customers. Don't come here on sundays around noon. You will be on line forever! Slow and unhelpful. I've come in here with yellow/pink Sorry We Missed You slips from my mailbox, and was told on several different occasions that they couldn't find my package in their hub. Each time I was promised that they'd look for it and would call me back (asking for my phone number). None of these times did I get a call back--or my package. It would inevitably time out and be returned to sender. Lines are always painfully long, and I've never seen more than two people working. Also, every day they have a sign in the window that they're not accepting any more passport applications that day, but a few times I've come in and been directed--by other patrons, not by staff--that one serpentine line was for mail, and another for passports. Horrible service. This is 3rd time the deliverer did NOT leave the notice. I've always have to checked with my tracking number. I visited this USPS again and they even asking to show the notice. How can I give show it? I was at home all day and waiting the parcels, but suddenly my tracking # updated that they attempted. Horrible location. They usually have like 1 or 2 clerks working while 10-15 people wait on line. They move pretty slow and people keep accumulating on the line. I shipped a package today and I told the guy I wanted it sent the cheapest way. He tells me the computer pushes the choice up and it's the "same thing" for that weight (4 lbs .50 oz). When I got home I checked and it should have cost me $4.61, but instead because I trusted the clerk (#10 - Jewish guy with a white beard) who is supposed to be knowledgeable about shipping, I ended up paying $8.95. You and your employees are pretty shady, underhanded, and deceitful. They probably tell them to push the next option to make more money. Whenever I have to ship something I'm shipping it from a mom & pop store from now on. At least they are timely and don't try to rob my money. read more

Their representatives do not even bother to check what address is listed on the packages. I have 10 packages that have been returned to me for no apparent reason. When I track the numbers, it seems like they have confused the From and To address. It is ok if that happened with one or two packages, but with 10 of them? I am even using USPS printed stamps - one would think they can at least read those. When I went back to the office to ask for more information - they asked me to leave the packages there and someone will give me a call. No call yet. I called the office and then they put me on hold for 20 minutes. Not to mention that this is the second time this has happened. Before, they advised me to just mail the packages again - but how can I do that when the packages have been tossed for a month and are already damaged? Their second suggestion was to scan the back of the packages, then cut the stamps and tape them on new packages - ridiculous! The worst part of it all is that even if they misread the address - it took them 4 weeks to ship a pack from Brooklyn to Brooklyn. DO NOT USE THE MAILBOX in this post office! I've had so many letters (some with payments checks) get lost after using the mailbox in this post office. I've heard other customers ask if they were working, to which the lazy workers idly reply yes. If you have letters you want to be sent for sure, go to the window and hand them directly. They will be annoyed with you but you will be glad. Also, I once sent a few packages overseas and they spent 5 minutes complaining to each other how long that was going to take when there was already a line. Get to work then, before wasting time, I'd say! It's just business as usual. But they have the laziest people in charge. read more

This is the worst post office EVER. Please know that there is one elderly guy there, one lady who is super slow as well, and a supervisor who will only work for customers who bring small gifts to him. In general there's a long wait but today I witnessed bribery and wait in line for 50 frigin minutes. All across the length and breadth of this, our land, religion and government are held as separate as possible. But here in Brooklyn's Borough Park neighborhood, all things are possible. The staff are not helpful, sometimes even rude. The lady today wouldn't even look at my face when I went to the window, knocked on it to get her attention. (I generally just leave the packages I want mailed inside the mailbox but this time it would not open.) Also, there is always like a long line and again, the staff work slow so you have to wait for a long time. Ten years ago I remember that this place was not so bad. My review is based on how the representatives at this post office treat their customers because that's one of the most important things I look at when doing business with anyone. The agents at this post office are very rude, will outright yell at customers which I saw firsthand a few months ago, and when I called to simply ask for their hours of operation the woman who answered the phone was very rude and short with me. Simple question, simple response- I get it, but it's astounding to me how in such a short, simple conversation someone could manage to do damage to the service provider/client relationship. One package was brought when nobody was home and a slip was left.  I scheduled a redelivery online.  No redelivery was made.  I submitted an online inquiry (I think these go through a central office, maybe in DC) and got the response, "I found that your mail was not redelivered as you've claimed, but I would suggest that you come into the Local Post Office and pick-up your mail..."  So I went to Blythebourne, 2 subway stops away.  As the agent brought the package from the back to the window, he said "are you the one who's been harassing me?  Someone's called me a bunch of times about this and that's why I held it here instead of sending it back."  I told him that I had not called but that I had requested a redelivery using the USPS online system.  I suggested that the person who called him might have been from the USPS central inquiry-handling service, and that they probably had been calling to ask for redelivery.  Since no redelivery attempt was made, I also suggested that this post office does not do that.  The agent replied, "yes we do, but you have to use the online system."    Aha. Another package was never delivered - no slip, nothing -  but was marked online as "delivered."  I submitted an online query and this time got a boilerplate response to the effect that the Postal Service feels my pain.  Then I left a detailed letter for the carrier that even had pictures of the contents (which I'd bought online) so she'd have an idea of the package's likely size and weight. My letter was taken but no reply was made.  So that package was a total loss. Yet another package was brought when nobody was home, again a slip was left and again I naively scheduled a redelivery online. The redelivery date came and went and receded into the past but the package just sat at the post office. A couple of weeks later I went in and picked it up. When I got home I received an email confirming that the package had been delivered successfully. So, as far as I can tell, when it comes to package delivery the Blythebourne Post Office does not excel.  I've found window service there to be both deliberate and (with the exception of my experience with the agent mentioned above) pleasant. read more

The bossy women with a nasty attitude ie superviser McCoy was racially discriminating me on 05/19 because Im Asian by refusing to serve me. I entered the post office 5 min before 5 o clock to pick up a package (their fault for not delivering) and she told everyone the white guy infront of me was the last customer. The line was not long and I waited to my turn the Chinese guy clerk was available and was about to serve me, and Ms.McCoy told him not to. I traveled two hours to come here and will be away from the country next week. And the package had been staying there long enough to be returned. I explained and begged and pleaded. Ms.McCoy sent someone pretending to find my package while the Chinese guy showed a nasty attitude to me. I told the Chinese guy for todays expereince I would complain. And the Chinese guy told Ms.McCoy right away to stop finding my package or serving me. Ms.McCoy told me my package couldnt be found and asked me to leave. I called the police and they helped getting Ms.McCoy's name for me to seek further complaint or help. read more

Honestly I never write reviews....so this is how bad it is. I live in the area and I purposely go out of my way to go to the post office in Dyker Heights, which is about 4 miles away. Usually,if you live in the area, you know that the post office here is bad but it's almost like chaotic order. You go there and you know it's gonna be an all day thing. But recently they hired a new manager (probably because of the overwhelming bad reputation they're getting), and it has made the place WORSE. I was suppose to receive a package about 2 months ago, the tracking number said it came to this facility, and then the tracking number never moved. I waited a good week after the tracking number stopped moving to go there in person. When I got there and explained to the manager what happened, she sent me to the self help machine to "see where my package is". If I'm showing you on my smart phone that the tracking number stopped, what makes you think your out of date machine would have different information? After I showed her on the self help machine the same thing that was on my phone, she took my information down and then started to look up my order. After about 15mins of having several people stare at the screen, she came back and told me "I'm sorry but your package appears to be lost.".......... to which I replied "okay?...does that mean I'm getting reimbursed for the package you've lost?" She proceeded to tell me she doesn't know and then took my number down and said a representative will get back to me within the week. IT'S BEEN 1 MONTH, AND STILL NOTHING. Honestly the United States Post Office would be better off if they just turned this place into a truck garage. Avoid this place at all cost. This place has made me give up on the USPS completely. Now I solely deal with UPS or FedEx. It's just easier. read more

Lines are always long, workers take their sweet time, so expect to spend over 45 minutes on line. Line starts moving at a reasonable pace only around closing time, after 4:45-4:50, even if there is only 1 or 2 windows open. Then there is a clerk who is employed to scan prepaid packages with a hand-held scanner. Sounds like a great idea to lessen wait time. Theoritically, that is. In practice, this clerk is not of any help. I always purchase shipping on line, however I tend to avoid interacting with this unpleasant individual, even if it means a longer line wait. Yesterday, while waiting on line, I was doing something of an importance to me, but this woman kept bothering me with all kind of nonsesnse, she is beyond rude, she is downright obnoxious. Started with snooping at my package and informing me that it's already paid for, proceeded with asking me the same question about a half dozen times, then she got frustrated that I was too busy to give her attention she craved and requested(!) that I should go to the end of the line (it's after I already spent half an hour in line). She is like a chewed bublegum you accidently get stuck to your shoes - it's close to impossible to get it off the sole of your shoes. USPS must instruct its workers not to overstep boundaries of plain decency. Also, if a worker is bored out of her mind from having nothing to do, maybe it would be a good idea to open another window to get line moving. read more

Really slow service. Yesterday I went to pick up my delivery because I got a delivery notice, but when I went there, they told me to come back the next day! I went the next day, they told me the same thing that they can't find my package. Took my number and told me that they will call me when they find the package! Item dropped off on 9/9 was not logged in as received until 9/12, 3 days later. This negatively affects my ebay rating as it then considers me a slow shipper. Why is there such a delay? Why is there only 1 window person handling prepaid mail, window transactions as well as looking for mail being picked up by customers while another employee is dedicated to passports. It took the window person 10 minutes to not find a persons letter that he wanted to pick up. The prepaid bin was full, the unsecured window used to drop off prepaid mail was also full and another unsecured window was opened to hold prepaid mail was opened to alleviate all this overflow and was filled in 5 minutes. People are just dropping off in the lobby mail unsecured including laundry size bags fulls of prepaid mail at this facility because no one person can handle all the volume, it is disgraceful. The manager should be foired if there is one because the place appears to be unsupervised. If I could leave less than 1 star I would, it deserves no stars. read more

I was expecting a package on a specific say and since I was not going to be home, I left a sign on my door with my signature on it saying "Please place parcel on left side of door". That night, I found the slip saying the UPS attempted deliver requiring a signature, so I signed the slip and left it on my door. I wrote: Please leave parcel at this address (my address here). Next day, nothing. So I called the UPS and the clerk who was a very kind man told me that the parcel was brought to the post office for me to pick up. Arrggh. I went there and told the agent about my experience and she rudely asked me if I left my signature. Obviously she didn't hear me. Rude. No service with a smile or can I help you with anything else? If you are ordering a package, please consider having it mailed to an alternative address (work, a relative). Not only was my package late for a gift, but I was rudely treated. A shame. If the agents there are unhappy with their job, they shouldn't take it out on their customers. It might make their job a little easier. read more

very long wait... customer service is not friendly and helpful. i went to post office to pick up a package. After a long time waiting on line, they couldn't find the package and sent me to a different window to be helped. the guy at the other window wanted me to wait on a long line again. i explained that I'm waiting a long while already. He didn't want to listen just gave the option of checking later and calling me. i was waiting for a phone call all afternoon. no-one called me. every time i go the service is slow and terrible. i beg the mailman to push the stuff into mail box so i dont have to go down every other day. he doesn't listen, despite the packages being small enough to fit in. now, I'm trying to call the office for the longest time to make sure they found the package before i take time from my busy schedule to wait on line again, they not pickin up phone all morning. read more

Speaking from 13+ years of personal experience, this is by far THE WORST post office I have ever been to. Unfortunately, I must deal with their poor service again and again because it is my zoned PO. I cannot stress enough on how much the clerks take all the time in the world and are SLOW at doing ANYTHING. There are a total of 3 windows but only 1 or 2 are ever open, even when the post office is jam-packed and the line ends in an u-turn at the entrance. In that case, expect to wait an hour - maybe more. In the case of a 4-person line, expect to wait no less than 15 minutes, 10 minutes if you're having a lucky day. Pick-up window is rarely open - there is no choice but to wait in the regular line just to pick up, even when the PO is full! This place is awful and is a hellhole. The people there cause nothing but frustration and time consumption. read more
