I'm not so impressed with deliveries from Parcel. I have received Purple Carrot boxes from them. The first box was sent to my husband's office - no problem, it was delivered up to his office and left with the front desk. The meal boxes are large and heavy though, so rather than have my husband carry the huge box on the subway, I had the second meal box sent to our home. The box was set to arrive on a Tuesday, so I made sure I worked from home that day. We do not have a doorman, and for a service SO big on understanding the issue people face living in buildings without doorman services, you would think Parcel would actually deliver the box to my apartment... but of course not. The delivery person rang my apartment bell, I answered the intercom, he said he had a delivery, told him great, come on up. Then I waited. And waited. After 10 minutes I knew something was up, since my elevator building only has 6 floors. Went down to the lobby and there sat my box, tossed in the corner, no delivery person in sight. Because of this lack of service, I will be canceling my Purple Carrot subscription and let them know Parcel was the reason. Parcel seems to employ some lazy individuals and this $70 package could have easily been stolen. Teach your delivery people to use an elevator. read more

Original date of delivery was 2/22, then it got pushed to 2/25, then 2/26, and finally on 2/27 I have to call Walmart because Parcel doesn't have a phone number, or the ability to deliver apparently. Now I'm waiting for a replacement order and hoping that future orders won't be with them because if they had at least left a slip or something to say "Hey, we tried to deliver but couldn't catch you while you were there" then I could've said there's hope. October 2019 a Parcel carrier delivered a package from Walmart and took different package that was waiting to be picked up by USPS. When I contacted Parcel via email (the only contact info Walmart had for them) Ruben Valdez the Parcel Dispatch Supervisor replied and stated he'd look into it and get back to me. He never got back to me. Four months and multiple emails later and not one follow up response. I'm out $95 dollars because the carrier didn't look at the label or was just a flat out theif. I've been using Parcel since right before Christmas 2014. It's be a life saver! I used to get packages delivered to my work until things started getting "lost" and it was a hassle to go through fedex/ups/usps to try and figure out if it was stolen at the front do or what. But now - with guaranteed delivery to my hands when I'm actually home, everything has been smooth sailing! I - on average - have about 2 packages delivered a week. And haven't had any issues with any of them. The delivery people are fantastic and really nice. Always delivering with a smile. I love the ability to change my delivery time, too, up until 6pm each night. Sometimes I sent a delivery time for 7-8pm but then realize at 5:30 I'm going to be stuck late in work and can quickly just change my delivery time frame to a later one or even the next day! Another great thing I love about Parcel is the ability to save my packages delivered throughout the week until Friday and just get them all delivered at the same time for just one $5 fee! One thing I'm looking forward to is a possible addition to a monthly service rather than a per-package service fee. I'd def be willing to pay $30-$40 a month for "unlimited" deliveries. read more

I work in a tiny office with only one coworkers and my two bosses. Like everyone, I enjoy online shopping, but getting things delivered to my office was not okay -- my bosses would inevitably intercept the package and it would ALWAYS be awkward. They'd see everything I got, from clothes to medical supplies. And I didn't even think of sending things to my house, because I'm not about to take a day off to pick up my stuff...I shop online to have things done CONVENIENTLY. (Plus, the nearest pickup center to me is in the Bronx.) Parcel is a godsend. It's cheap, convenient, friendly, and reliable. The people who deliver packages are always nice, customer service emails back immediately all the time if I ever have a question, and sometimes my stuff comes with little extra treats. I am rabidly pro-Parcel and no longer tolerate people complaining about packages...don't they KNOW there's something better out there? Please people, it's 2015, stop tolerating being pushed around by UPS, just get Parcel and stop whining. read more

I absolutely love Parcel! There is nothing more annoying in New York than missing a package and having to go wait in line at the post office to pick it up (especially, if like me, your mail carrier doesn't always even ring the bell!). Parcel has made it so convenient for me to get packages- especially since I often move between working from home and my office, and so I am not sure where I will be when a package is going to arrive. Parcel is easy to use, super useful, and the drivers are all super friendly! I loved cute touches like the candy cane tied to the outside at Christmas, and the noise maker around New Years. Par-shit Once again parcel fucks up. Had a delivery today, i buzzed the delivery man in to at least bring my package inside, he STILL leaves it outside for people to steal the damn package. They are still a shitty service and still leaving packages outside regardless if you buzz them in or not. Lazy delivery people and it seems like their staff doesn't do a damn thing to penalize them. Been waiting all day for the package for a driver to deliver the package. My wife didn't receive an email until midnight. The driver doesn't even bother to ring the bell, just leaves the package outside and of course it gets stolen. This is the second time this happened with this particular company. I am VERY happy that jet.com is now using Parcel. I was shocked that today I received my jet.com delivery and the delivery person rang my buzzer and actually brought my delivery up to my apartment! The prior delivery company would drop my jet.com delivery between the unlocked and locked door of my building. Entrepreneur/startup guy here. Felt like I should just simply state all the reasons why Parcel is doing it right. And why I love them: -I schedule deliveries via SMS. For once, not another app to download. And it just feels human, for goodness sake (even though I know it's not!) -It's simple. They do one thing, and do it well. -Everybody cares. Really, everybody. When I needed to reschedule via SMS for the 3rd time, the human was awesome. The guy who seems to show up at my door every time is awesome. Just the little things they seem to get right, and that only happens when you care. -Missed packages are a genuine pain. My life is missing the UPS guy, and it made my Amazon Prime essentially worthless because I just stopped using it. It was annoying too to get packages sent to work, then shlepping them home. Packages deliveries from 10pm-11pm is my happy place. -They gave me sweet socks around Christmas. They're colorful and fun and I wear them all the time. Again, the little stuff... I literally recommend Parcel unabashedly to anyone who doesn't have a doorman, and it's $5 well worth it. read more

Parcel is a must for those in NYC without a doorman. It's easy to sign up for the service, you get a text asking which delivery date and time frame is preferred and best of all they actually turn up on time! At 5 dollars a delivery (not per package) I think it's an extremely good rate for peace of mind your package is in safe hands and will be delivered at a time that suits you. Besides the simple ingenuity of this business and the taking advantage of a major need, these guys run a business really well. The delivery people are always friendly. The one time I had an issue (I didn't get their text when a package arrived, which could have just as easily been a Verizon issue), they gave me a free delivery without me requesting it. Sometimes I come down the stairs a few steps because I am on the 4th floor of a walk up and I feel bad and they tell me not to worry about it. They don't accept tips and that saves an awkward moment every time. Great business... No way anyone will get me to drag one of those cage carts through the streets. - One of the most cost effective ways to get yourself and your stuff moved to NYC from another country. - Delivery people are nice and, when they're too lazy to haul a large package up # flights of stairs, they make sure you can manage it. : ( - I don't get the rebranding (label that gets placed over the mailing label). Sometimes you need the Sender's address for future reference and the Earth is always worth saving. - Only issue I had was with some delivery person whose cologne smelled so strong it lingered in the apt doorway and on the package. - I think deliveries for larger boxes should include additional points toward a free delivery (in my dreams/considering the amt of oversized deliveries I have had shipped: 3x the $5 base = 3x more points). read more

I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews, but I really love Parcel and can't recommend it enough. I live Brooklyn, and one of two things happens with packages: 1) USPS or UPS tries to deliver a package when I'm not home, and my order gets sent back to the sender, or - 2) Packages are stolen from my building. Both are pretty awful scenarios. I've had both multiple times and thought I was doomed (because who can afford a doorman building in NYC) until I found Parcel. The peace of mind I have now when I order stuff online is so worth Parcel's tiny delivery fee. Ordering stuff online isn't a game of package roulette. PS -- Sunday package deliveries are the best way to brace for a Monday morning. read more

Delivery attempt was made once. Second day, delivery was left outside the apartment complex. So I live in an apartment complex with 9 huge buildings. Surrounded by a fence with different entrances. It was left outside one of the gates. Not outside my actual building. Not outside my door. Outside the complex. A stranger who does not live in my building found it lying outside and took the effort to bring it up to my apartment. Interesting that a stranger put more effort into the delivery than one of your actual workers. Not a good experience. I order a lot online and have had my share of bad deliveries. Parcel is pretty awesome. It's funny - as soon as my coworker told me about their services, I immediately had the thought of "WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?!" It really works for 1. professionals in major cities, 2. who aren't home to accept packages during the day, and 3. who don't have a doorman (who has a doorman?!?) $5 is nothing when you think about lugging that package home on the L train during rush hour... The delivery folks are super nice and helpful. I've never had an issue that wasn't my fault. In fact, Parcel was exactly 1 minute late with a delivery and that delivery was free! My only feedback to Parcel would be to have morning delivery hours. Sometimes I can't make it home by 10pm and I've been charged for not being there when the delivery arrives, which sucks. Again, it's my fault for not being there when I asked for that delivery time in the first place, but if there were morning hours (say 6-7am, 7-8am, 8-9am), I'd be so stoked. read more

The only thing worse than a missed delivery slip? Getting a missed delivery slip over a WEEK after the delivery attempt while the package is already on its way back to the sender. I swear UPS is trolling me. And have you ever tried tracking down a missed package at the post office? Well I have and it's pretty much a fate worse than death. So when I say that Parcel is seriously a LIFE SAVER, I mean it. For those without a doorman, they let you schedule all your deliveries for a 60-minute window the night they arrive, and they'll even text you when they get to your building if you don't have a buzzer. All the delivery guys are super friendly, professional, and always on time. (And even if they're ever late, I've read that they wont charge you a penny, which is awesome.) The boxes come with adorable labels and notes on them and if you get a few packages delivered together, they come all bundled up with cute twine! I can't say enough nice things. Parcel is the only way to guarantee that your packages are delivered to your loved ones in NY! You can keep the brownie points you get from sending a package by allowing your loved one to simply open the door for delivery on his/her schedule. At only $5 dollars per delivery, it's impossible to justify making them trek to the "nearest" UPS pick up center or dragging a package on an already long commute home. If you're not using Parcel, you should not be ordering packages online! The only issue is your brother not having a doorman is now no longer an excuse for "forgetting" a birthday gift this year! read more

Parcel is so easy, so straightforward, so worth it, I don't even have to think about it anymore. It's saves me time, sure and for that reason alone it's worth WAY more than $5 (seriously, your time is more valuable than you think) but it also helps with piece of mind. Now I can shop like a normal person without having to wonder what will happen if my package is 'delivered' on a weekend, who will water my houseplants during my eternal trip to Brownsville to pick up a package etc. If you're still not convinced this service is the way to send and receive packages, call Parcel and talk to them yourself. Parcel has literally changed my life. I live in a no-doorman building, so the only way I can receive packages without ordering them to my office and then carrying them home (which isn't an option for anything large or heavy) is if I stay home from work and wait. The text message updates and time window selection are amazing! Parcel is easy-to-use, always on-time, communicative, and my delivery guy is the MOST friendly. He happily walks up 4 flights of stairs and asks about my day/life every time. Like many New Yorkers, I used to spend my weekends waiting for hours in line at the post office. After getting fed up with that, I tried using Amazon lockers for my Amazon packages. It was definitely a step up, but it's still kind of a pain to haul the boxes home and you can only use the lockers for stuff ordered from Amazon. Parcel is a lot more convenient, they'll bring your packages to your door (and climb your stairs!). Their drivers are so friendly, and they're always on time. Pacel is amazing - no more waiting days (sometimes weeks) to pick up packages from mail places with absurdly limited hours; no more infuriating "sorry we missed you" slips (the ones that aren't lost/stolen) requiring after-work treks to sketchy warehouses across town; no more lugging boxes home from the office (and judging looks from the mail guys). Terrible experience ! The company decided to close and from one day to the other they stopped receiving packages. I have 2 deliveries on their way and the only thing customer service was able to say was "Im sorry, but we are not receiving packages anymore"... no contingency plan, nothing... they left me to solve it myself... Its extremely disappointing that a company that claims "You will never miss a delivery again" is now causing me to lose 2 important deliveries... And I don't even know if I will be able to collect these items since the delivery is not on my name but on Parcel's name... Their website doesn't even say that they are out of business, I can log in to my account and it all seems great... Only now after I sent 2 important deliveries I realize that they closed. Wouldn't recommend it at all... they say they are coming back, but I would recommend to stay away from a company that may close anytime leaving customers hanging there... read more

I'm so glad I started using Parcel. I've wasted so much time in New York post offices that I've lost track at this point. Eventually, I gave up trying to ship anything to my apartment and just started sending everything to my office. This works okay for the small stuff that I can fit in my bag, but it's a huge hassle to lug bigger boxes home on the subway. Now I can just tell Parcel when I want my stuff delivered and know that it'll show up on time. Its great! read more

I join the hoards of other 5-star reviews here... Parcel is simply perfect. After far too many instances of stolen packages in my West Harlem apartment, I was so happy to discover Parcel. I get so many packages at my apartment because I hate shopping in person, and it's such a relief to never have to deal with theft or being home at the right time to receive a package or deal with UPS and FedEx. I get about two Parcel deliveries a week and the delivery people are always extremely punctual and polite - plus I loved the candy sweethearts at Valentine's Day! Their text messaging system is perfectly clear and easy to manage from work. I can't say enough positive things about Parcel! read more
