This is the worst post office I have ever been to, the lady at the window was the rudest person I can think of on earth. She is racism and speaks as the rest of us don't know any English. I simply went to drop off a package, and was given this attitude "Come on, man! Oh this can't be happening..." She puts her scanner all the way at the back behind the window and when the machine doesn't scan, she make it sounds like it was my fault not pointing the QR code directly at her scanner, but all she have to do is move her scanner forward a bit and at my phone, instead of me moving my phone around to try to look for her scanner. So arrived to drop off pre paid packages. Wow!! Place was empty at 1 pm. Then I saw signs no electronic transactions internet down. WTH!!! Thought I was screwed but no. The clerk said we can scan your packages. Wow was i lucky. The only reason I was here instead of closer post office. Is closer post office said can only scan 2 to 3 packages. I had 6 today and found out after talking to clerk. There is no rule or post office regulation into how many packages can be dropped off at ANY post office location. I had occasion to call this location recently when a package I ordered for a friend indicated that it had been left at the door/porch and she said it wasn't there. A woman answered the phone promptly, got the driver (who was back at the facility) and the driver provided the info as to where she had hidden the package. Yes, it was there. I was very pleased with the service. When I still lived in zip 11220 I sold many items on e-bay for several years (usually mailing from the 4th avenue satellite) and never had an issue. We only get mail when our courier feels like doing his job that day. If it's raining. No mail. Cloudy? No mail. Snow ( even though the sidewalks are clear), forget about it. We get mail addresses to another street at least once a week, which is about 50% of the time since we seldom get mail. I live in a building with 5 other units. An absolute horrible place to be. The customer service is absolute horrendouse. An employee, starting with the letters Q and ending with an e, decided to give us an attitude and smug remarks. Every time we would do something wrong, she would sigh with a "Oh my god." Or a "This cannot be real." She even had a coworker to back her up because she knew that she couldn't do anything. When we tried recording her she even hid behind said girl. They would always make us sound like the dumbest people in the world. I came here to turn in my application for my baby's passport. We made an appointment online which is a MUST! So don't even try to walk in if you need a passport. The man at the window, Mr. Chen, is very particular with the details of the passport application, so we had to do it again. It's ok though as I'd rather have it done correctly instead of having to do it all over again from the beginning. If you pay by personal check, you will delay your passport. If you pay by debit card or cash, your passport will come sooner. We ended up doing debit card and got our passport in about 3 weeks. They will attempt to deliver your passport to your door but if you are not home, you will get a notice to pick up. Pick up is a breeze so if you do pick up it's quick and painless. There's no chairs to sit inside the post office, so if you are going to wait a long time, you will wait standing up. read more

The lines here are usually not abnormally long, it is pretty clean as far as post offices go and the staff actually smiles at you and thanks you when you go - HUGE improvement over the Flatbush post office I used to go to at my last apartment. I've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes here, but all I ever do is pick up packages so I cant speak from personal experience about their other services. They DO offer mail boxes, passports, etc all the usual stuff USPS should do. There is one energetic guy here who is very friendly and deserves a special note, probably a manager. He looks Latino, and speaks Chinese, short and bald (sorry bro!) but is always coming out to talk to people and speed things up and greet people and just talk to some of the regulars when it's slower. Abyssmal Service. I can't stress this enough. I've been coming here because of convenience for the past 5 years as a resident that lives 3 blocks down from this pathetic excuse for a post office and every time I've went here I've ALWAYS encountered some type of problem. Frankly, I've had it with this place. Long lines, most of the time there are 2 receptionists who can care less about taking care of customers and sending them on their way. They used to provide priority shipping boxes of virtually all dimensions and now they only have 1 choice: a tiny box that fits a phone. This is to get people to pay out of pocket for their other boxes that can fit more things to ship. They've hired a lady aka The Line Cop that gets triggered when the lines to the booth isn't uniform and straight like an arrow. Goodness sakes just buy a stanchion. USPS Trucks that deliver out of this place NEVER place a notice on your door despite what it says on the website. COUNTLESS times did I have to write the number down on a piece of paper and then get questioned by the rude lady at the pickup booth on why I didn't have the notice. Came in the other day trying to pick up my package. They tried to deliver on the 27th. 28th was memorial day so I went on the 29th to here to pick up my package. Lady says it's not here and that it will be here on the 1st of next month. I asked why and she said "LISTEN". I can't believe the rude attitudes here. Listen USPS, you're not doing us a favor. I am writing as a long time patron of USPS and am very disappointed in the experience with a sales associate on 9/19. The incident took place at the Bay Ridge Brooklyn, NY (11220) location. Instead of being helpful answering questions regarding a form that needed to be filled out, the sales associate by the name of BILLY ROMERO was being dismissive and condescending. I don't understand how appropriate it is for a customer service associate to use profanity on their customers. Here in NYC, we live in diverse neighborhoods and English might not be the first language to many. The sales associate did not speak the primary language (except for profanity) and was provoking to a bigger issue than it needed to be. So this place is a circus sometimes. Bare-minimum efficient at other times. Biggest positive is they have a drop off window for pre-paid packages. I sell a lot via online shop and eBay. And package my goods and print labels at home. I've waited in so many lines for so many unnecessary minutes to literally hand a stack of packages to someone through a window and walk away. LOVE that they have a drop off window. In and out in less than 2 minutes. Ok so now.... HUGE bummer though that EVERY SINGLE TIME I have scheduled a pickup at my apartment, no one ever comes. When I am shipping a number of things all at once, and physically cannot walk the 3 long blocks, 8 short blocks sherpa-style with my abundance of goods, I schedule a pick up. They. Never. Come. I get confirmation emails saying "This is to confirm that a successful Package Pickup was made as requested. We have successfully completed your Package Pickup." BUT NO ONE EVER CAME. My mailman (who is the bomb dot com, and comes at 10:30 on the dot every day) explained once that they send someone else in the afternoon that has a truck for pickups. Since he is walking and doesn't have the ability to do bigger pickups. But no one. Ever. Comes. No truck. Comes. Ever. I've called the post office (Said the email is automated, and that a truck is coming by 5pm. WRONG. No one. Came). I've called the 800 number for USPS. No one cares. Get it together please! Don't offer pick-ups as an option if you don't want to do them. And stop lying to me when I call. read more

Damn! I tend to ship out every now and then things I sell on eBay. The great thing about that is that I don't have to go to the P.O. to ship out my packages because I can print my postage via my printer. I purposely send my packages through Priority mail because the postman is supposed to come to my door, ring the bell, and take my packages away. The only problem is I have to send 2,3, and 4 requests by the time someone is forced to come. The other problem is that the p.m that is supposed to do the pick-up always claims he came to the house but no one answered the door bell. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm literally stuck by the window to make sure I don't miss the pick-up so that I don't have to shlep the package(s). The regular delivery man is excellent though. He's so energetic, and talks to you as if he knew you forever. The only thing is I do get other peoples mail more than I should. I don't know if the error is through him, or someone else who pre-arranges the various address bundles to be delivered, but it's still annoying. Nevertheless he's still a very cool guy and I like him as a person and there's no way I'd be upset at him. The last thing that bothers me is when I have a delivery, I always find a notice on my door. I dislike this post office! There's always a long line with just 1-2 clerks working. I went today and I waited 30 minutes on the line just so that I can get a receipt for 2 packages that I'm dropping off that already has prepaid labels. At that time it was just one guy working and another lady who WAS NOT WEARING A MASK was working at the pick up window. She then came to help out because the line was not moving and I was told by her that I cannot get a receipt because the labels weren't created today. They lost my package, when I went to the post office the lady just kept on telling me to wait and on the first day she said she will call the delivery man to check so I waited for at least 2 hours and she also said that she will call me but she never did. Then tomorrow I went back to the post office again and she gave me the same answer, so I told her that did you really call the delivery man yesterday or are you playing a game with me. Patience is a virtue. I knew when walking in, I may have to wait a while. I had to renew my passport because it was going to expire in a few days. Of course, me being me, I waited until the last minute to do so. Inside, I was trying to look for the passport applications which I thought were readily available. I didn't see any so I waited on line. There were about 5 or 6 people a head of me. While waiting, I noticed there was a window that said "passports only". I didn't know if there was a separate line for it or if I'd have to wait on the regular line. I didn't want to cut in front of anyone, so I just waited on the normal line. Once it was my turn, I happened to get the window clerk that was handling the passports. He handed me a renewal form and explained everything. He told me I was able to mail it out since my passport didn't expired. If your passport is expired, then you'd have to make an appointment to submit your application. I filled out the form and went back on line. This time there was a separate line as one other lady was waiting while he was handling another lady, both applying for passports for their babies. While waiting, I noticed the regular line was very long, and the window clerk took about 5-10 minutes to handle per customer, depending on the transaction. Eventually the line shortened to about only 3 people, but then it quickly accumulated again. At the passport window, the clerk was meticulously checking the passport forms and even asked to see the baby in person just to make sure the face matched the face in the photo. I waited about 20-30 minutes even though there were only 2 people ahead of me. Understandable, since passports are highly important and no room for errors. Eventually it was my turn, and some chick from the normal line try to cut in but the dude at the window shooed her away.."b!#@&, don't you see me waiting?!?!", I said in my head. He carefully looked through my form, making sure that what was supposed to be filled out was filled. He made sure I had my four items that were needed in order for me to renew my passport. My renewal form, my photo, the money order for the processing fee and finally, my old passport. He stapled all the items to the form and that was it. He later explained to me that I can track my envelope to make sure the processing center received it and I can also track to see when they will send my new passport. He was very nice and helpful. I thanked him for his help. I am relieved that this is over. When I left, the regular line was to the door...I can see why people are frustrated with this place. read more

If you live in Sunset Park, and you actually want to receive packages, always have your stuff shipped by UPS or FedEx. The mail carriers at this post office consistently put pink "Sorry We Missed You!" slips in your mailbox without ringing your buzzer to see if your home to receive the packages (maybe this post office needs another set of slips that say "Sorry I'm Too Lazy to Deliver Your Package Even Though You're Home Waiting For It.") After you fail to receive your package due to the mail carrier's dishonesty, they usually don't bother to attempt a second delivery (even when the pink slip explicitly states they will). Your package then disappears into a post office phantom zone. Sometimes, they whimsically decide to deliver the package weeks later, after you've already contacted Amazon and had them ship a replacement. Other times, it just remains disappeared, perhaps collecting dust in a giant closet of discarded packages at the back of the post office. Or maybe the employees divide up their pilfered loot and take it home every week. Who can say? No hyperbole: the USPS should open an investigation into this severely mismanaged branch. Business is already bad enough for the USPS; they'll never pull out of their downward spiral if they squander the last benefit they can still provide customers, affordable reliable service. There's not much point in paying cheaper prices if the USPS refuses to actually provide the services your paying them for. read more
