This place sucks, USPS in general sucks, so just keep this in mind when you go there. Also keep in mind that this neighborhood has very few buildings that have doormen that will take packages, thus many, many people will be in line here at any (and likely all) times to pick up a packages. Here's what my two experiences have been like: first time I came here to pick up a package, I arrived on a Wednesday morning 15 minutes prior to opening and there were 20 people ahead of me in line waiting outside the door. The post office opened slightly late (9:05am) and I proceeded to the parcel pick-up window where I became 5th in line (everyone else ahead of me was either mailing or requesting money orders). I would say all together I waited 25 minutes to receive my package. Second time I came on a Saturday at 11AM. There were about 50 people ahead of me in the pick-up line. I waited in line for about 45 minutes. The employees are curt and impolite, BUT, their jobs do really suck. They deal with entitled, angry people all day, everyday. They get screamed at for things outside of their control (if your mail carrier doesn't ring your door to deliver your package, yell at the mail carrier, or call USPS and report it.) Bottom line, this place could be worse... USPS in Williamsburg is wayyyy worse, even the location on the UWS loses packages without explanation on a fairly regular basis without apology. This has to be the absolute worst post office in America! It is always dirty, it is always hot, (even in the dead of winter.). I dread receiving packages and having to come to this place. I have been here at every different time of the day possible, even at opening and the lines are ridiculous and move SUPER SLOW! This post office is the worst. I witnessed the (I'm assuming the manager) walkout the backroom to a packed post office did not great anyone. Went to the do and when a woman asked if she can come is said to her "if you ant to kill yourself go ahead." ( referring to distancing due to COVID). Only one line for package pickups. Budget 30 minutes to wait and receive your package. Many times they won't even leave a slip. This is the service for which most people are in line, every time I'm here, yet they allocate more staff to other services, for which there isn't a line! USPS needs to set up Amazon Locker type stations every 2 blocks! The technology is here to get people their packages when they're not home, yet we still play tag w/USPS. Perhaps this is indicative that we should better fund public services. In the meantime, at least open a second package pickup window, and change these 9-5 hours M-F so that people working a traditional shift can come pickup their care package! I.e if your package tries to arrive on a Monday and you're at work, you can't get to USPS b/c they close at 5, so you're SOL until the weekend at best. There must be better ways. Very efficient! I went early on Saturday 4/9/16 to be the first one in the post office once it opened. To my dismay, there was already quite a line. However, the line went by super fast. Once the office opened I was seen in about 15 minutes. The mailman had not been delivering mail to my building lately and The clerk that helped me was extremely helpful. She was super friendly and brought all of the mail that had been collected at the p.o for the past week. :) I will recommend that people come here with an open mind. It's a post office and you should probably expect to wait...especially on the weekend. A positive attitude will make everyone much more friendly and willing to help you. read more

I dropped off 2 prepaid Priority Mail packages with he clerk at "window #1" and they were never scanned and have totally VANISHED. How the f*#$ does that happen? She refused to scan them and give me a receipt. She said I'd have to stand in the rediculously long line outside if I wanted a receipt. I will NEVER AGAIN trust any clerk at this post office! It needs to be shut down to eliminate the corruption within. And now I'm left with very sad neices and nephews who's Christmas was stolen by the USPS Flatbush branch. read more

The only good experience I've had here is with one staff member who always brings a smile to my face because of her jokes - love her! But this post office has proven (time after time) to be the worst for package pick-up. Day after day there are lines wrapped around the entirety of the room, and there's usually only one person working at the package pick-up window. I don't understand why a system that is broken like this can't fix one thing - just allocate more workers for this service! I always spend at least 45 minutes to an hour (if not longer) in the line, and previous to my experience here, there are never any 2nd attempts to deliver packages at my residence. It just goes directly to the post office to die a slow death until you're willing to stand in line for over an hour to get it. The other lines are empty while the package pick-up line snails around, tripling! Why don't the other employees help with this service? I don't get it. I think the devil modeled hell after the flatbush post office. Their main talents include : being rude, not ringing your bell so you can get your package before someone steals it, NEVER giving clear instructions while being sticklers for the rules, sending the package I sent out BACK TO ME RATHER THAN WHO IT WAS FOR (and I mailed it FROM the post office). Be ready to kill a couple hours to pick up a package. This post office although the people who work here are friendly considering the circumstances. But there is always and over flow of people waiting to pick up packages. There is no sense of urgency when the line is out the door. I have on numerous occasions waited 3 hours to pick up a package. On a Saturday morning when people are finally off work and able to pick up packages they have only 1 window open for pickups. While they have 3 windows open for drop offs and money orders. Very slow post office, one time I was here for about an hour just waiting to pick up a package. I recommend you coming in the early mornings before people get out of work, school, or whatever. Come in the mornings because there's usually shorter lines than in the afternoons. I think the people behind the counters take a very long time to attend and it causes very long lines that can have you waiting for an hour+. I give them 2 stars instead of one because I have seen an improvement in their service but that's probably because I started coming here in the mornings. I assume there is a long line often because the postal men don't do a great job delivering, which becomes a nuisance. I think that the issue is mostly with the postal office itself that only has one person for pick-ups, sometimes they can be very rude when attending to a person. Every blue moon I have to go to the post office, this post office which I have gone to in the past year, a total of 2 times, have left me awestruck at the sheer laziness of their employees. Seems that I cannot go lower but to my own amazement, yes it does. This morning at 10 am, waiting in line with just 1 person ahead, this so called "clerk", Mr. Lasz, tells the woman, while checking his texts messages on his smart watch (might be the only smart thing he has going for him btw) that she cannot be serviced by him because he does not sell stamps on his window, he's sitting 1 window away from the window that does which has no one on sight to attend to it. While she waits, he calls the next person up, me, when I approach and he's still on his text messages, proceed to tell me, weren't you on the other line?, I replied, I'm not buying stamps I just gotta send this 1 little envelope, he insisted yet again, but aren't you on the other line? I then replied, what does it matter what line I'm on, there's no one in front of me or behind and you are the "available clerk" he then said, well I'm not gonna take that envelope. Literally the worst. For awhile, my packages were not even attempted to be delivered to my home. But I wouldn't even get a slip from them. I would only get a notice from Amazon or whoever that they "attempted" to deliver my packages even if I was home. Now, if I'm not home, they leave it at the FRONT DOOR OF MY APARTMENT BUILDING. Your experience with this post office location is like the flip of a coin. There's no real way of saying whether it'll be a positive or negative experience. I make it my business to avoid this station, because it's often slow and lacks adequate staffing. No one wants to stand in line all day. During my last few visits, I have seen slight improvements in customer service. There are lines designated for passports, parcel pick-ups, stamps and money orders, or general business. I have even seen a manager on the floor providing customers with assistance while they're waiting to be seen at the window. I hope the quality of service continues to improve over time. read more
