This is not a place that you can expect to get a package sent before work or during lunch unless you have an extra 45 minutes to spare. The first time I went I waited about 30 minutes until I was helped, and then turned away because my box wasn't taped. I assumed the post office would have tape or let me pay for them to tape it, or have tape for me to buy and I asked. The guy had no solutions and told me you have to come back with a taped box. Ridiculous. So I returned a couple of days later with the taped box, and not many cars were in the parking lot. I was like, ok, I should be able to do this before getting to my class. There were three people ahead of me and I stood in line for 20 minutes and I ended up leaving because the line literally did not move and they were still helping the same customer from when I arrived . I would understand if they were sending off multiple boxes, dealing with problems, or whatever, but these were pretty basic transactions and typical mailings of one package. The workers here are incredibly slow. I mean painfully and ridiculously slow. To the point it seems purposeful. On top of that, my interactions with the employees were not pleasant. They don't smile, and act like you are a bother, even though they are literally the reason they have lines. Observations from my visits (came to about a total of an hour and 15 minutes in wait time to get this once package sent over my 3 visits): A man asked for his mail that was forwarded to the post office and it took the lady (dirty blonde, maybe 50's-60's) literally 15 minutes until she came back out. I also watched the same lady reading a label for 5 minutes before she helped a customer. She didn't even do anything with it. Just decided to act like she was doing something I guess so she could rest some more before her next customer. When I was being helped finally, all they had to do was scan the barcode and take the box, print and put on the label and give me a receipt. The lady started trying to peel a sticker off my box and took about 2 minutes doing this while I just stood there like what the hell? She finally gave up on the sticker before finally deciding to hand me my receipt, mind you a line of 10 had formed behind me at this point. Zero urgency. God, this place sucks. Hopefully, they decide to get some new blood here and actual efficient workers.

Secondly everyone I've dealt with has been extremely efficient and very very nice. I don't know who's being mean to who in previous visits, but I have never found that to be true. it can get busy here and I've stood in line on a few occasions, but the line always moves fairly quickly.

A fan of the United States Post Office? It can't be. How is that possible? Well it is. Let's…read morestart with how affordable it is to ship something via the USPS. Let's start with US First Class Shipping. If your item is less than 13 ounces and fits the right dimensions, you can ship US First Class mail. It's about a 2 to 3 bucks across the USA and it comes with free tracking. If your item is more than 13 ounces, your best bet is to do the Flat Rate Shipping. Guess what, the Flat Rate boxes and envelopes are FREE. Yes, you heard me FREE. Let me spell it out for you. F-R-E-E. I know you're saying, " What's the catch?" There is no catch. go to their website and order your supplies. Here's the run down on the supplies. The Flat Rate Box can double as Flat Rate or Priority Express Mail. Flat Rate is typically two to three business days while the Priority is the next day. Sometimes the Flat Rate and Priority Mail can be the same day. If it does not need to be there absolutely positively overnight, just ship it Flat Rate. Flat Rate comes with $50 of insurance and Free tracking. Go to www.usps.com Click on Postal Store, Then on the right, click on FREE SHIPPING SUPPLIES Order the Dual Use Priority Mail / Flat Rate Box 11" x 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 OR Dual Use Priority Mail / Flat Rate Box 11-7/8 x 3- 3/8 x 13-5/8 If you are a Padded Envelope fanatic like me, you can also order the Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope. 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 Now that you have your FREE supplies, you are on your way to go to the Meridian Post Office. Your agents are Valerie, Amy, and Mark on most days. They are all great and customer focused. Most likely you will be in line about 10-12 people deep. Most of the customers in front of you don't know how to mail or didn't take advantage of the FREE Supplies and the others are picking up their packages with their little brown slips. You can always use the two automated machines in the lobby. They will work with your Flat Rate boxes and padded envelopes. If you choose to see Valerie, Amy, or Mark, here's some tips. (1) Answer their question whether or not the item is fragile, liquid or hazardous. Matter of fact, check online before you go whether or not the item you are sending can be sent via USPS. (2) Know when you want the item to be delivered (3) They will ask you if you need further mailing supplies or cash back so be prepared. Lastly, don't be that guy or gal that walks in and does the sigh of all time. I appreciate their service and the fact they do it so efficiently. Plus, I'm saving a bundle by shipping via the USPS.

I could tell they tried to be as fast as possible while still engaging with the customers. The parking lot is midsized and there is street parking. * Management should have more staff up front during peak hours to help reduce wait times.
