No one really cares here. Just now 3 people left the line because they apparently had been waiting so long. One person on- and he is totally unapologetic for the wait and lack of personnel. I was surprised to see that this location has such a low rating because I've always had a pleasant experience at this post office. The staff is always friendly, and there's plenty of parking. Admittedly the line can be very long at times, but I wouldn't blame that on the post office. Incidentally, I went to another post office close by, and the employee there had a terrible attitude. read more

Can't trust this place to do what they're supposed to do. I'm away and had a mail hold ending tomorrow when I'll be back but I know mail was delivered today. I know, I'm not there to see it but I got a notice from Amazon, that a package that was coming usps and was caught up in the hold, was delivered TODAY. Not the first time this has happened. read more

Open until 12:30 on Saturdays. Great location on the corner of 202/44 and Route 10. Easy parking with drive-up mail drops. Desk personnel have a personality and are friendly. No sullen robots here. As Post Offices go, this is a good one. read more

I am addIng a note to my previous 5 star review. I recently had a very important piece of mail lost at the point of origin - Colorado. It was time sensitive & I could get NO help from the sender or the tracking system! I called our post office in Avon, & after getting passed over to a woman in charge, Aravinda - thIngs startrmoved along! Aravinda was very concerned, took responsibility above & beyond, was not very hopeful, but she dug deep & contacted the right people & was able to eventually get the mail delivered to me. She called me numerous times to update me along the way. I couldn't ask for any better treatment! DO NOT depend on the Avon post office to hold your mail! Twice now I put a hold on my mail while away, and twice it was ignored. I received a confirmation both times that it would be held & I received an email telling me when I would receive my "held" mail, & it was not held at all! I called to find out what happened & was told that I did not place a hold & that the mail man delivered my mail each day. The manager yelled at me & kept saying that my mailman said I did not have a hold. I tried to explain that I DID put a hold & had proof of that & she would not listen. Finally, I asked her to tell me why it was ignored & what would be done about it & she simply said "sorry". Very frustrating & absolutely gave me no confidence in the hold system EVER working! read more

-0 Stars! Avoid this post office...This has to be the worst possible post office in the United States. The supervisor MAY (woman) made my family's passport experience an unforgettable one and not in a good way! She was visibly annoyed with taking a two month olds picture and found every possible excuse as to why she couldn't (no good lighting, no white background for the baby you name it)! She then told me to go to AAA to get the picture taken, which I refused because there should have been no issue with getting a simple picture taken at the post office. This supervisor then became visibly annoyed processing my infant daughter's passport she made sure her passport was going to be delayed by not taking my daughter's birth certificates or any required documents for the Passport nor communicating what was required. I believe this was intentionally done and really management should find a new supervisor because clearly she hates her job and does nothing to truly help customers. I have truly never experienced a disgusting customer service exchange. How dare she treat my infant daughter and my family so poorly? Lets not forget how she misplaced the fathers birth certificate as well! Avoid this post office at all cause! read more

I am quite surprised reading some of the bad reviews . People here a polite and go out of their way to help you. My mother who is an older lady sent a parcel with no last name and street address was also missing my house number. I called the Post Office - lady on the phone was so nice and assured me that she will keep an eye on a parcel like this arriving from Pakistan. The parcel came, and they did figured out my home address, and sent the parcel home. Unfortunately, I was travelling and was not home so I had to go in the post office to pick it up later. Both ladies on the counter were very helpful. They gave me the parcel. There was a note on it "from her mother" :) - the lady who picked up my phone really kept an eye on the parcel and made sure I get it. read more

This place will suck the life out of you. Waited 45 minutes in line to pick up mail. One attendant at the station while all the other employees "mill" around looking at you as if to say , "don't look at me" I'm not gonna help while the line is halfway down the hall. The best was I went in the other day and the Indian gentleman was in the back saw me and said I had to ring the bell to get someone. I rang it and he came out. Classic. Stay away from this hell hole. I would rather have a root canal then stand in line at this place. read more

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviews about terrible customer service. I absolutely dread going to the post office and will need to start driving to another town in the future. God forbid any staff help you unless you've rung the bell. As if I'm just standing there window shopping and don't actually need anything. They walk by you and make eye contact and still will not offer any help. Once you've summoned someone over with the bell they are undoubtedly going to serve you with contempt. read more

I literally got yelled at within 5 seconds by someone with such a thick accent, I couldn't understand them, except that they were clearly angry that I didn't understand the inner-workings of the USPS. Terrible customer service. Manager is very rude and dismissive of concerns. It took me hours to even get through to speak with someone because the phone line was either busy or just rang and rang. In addition to terrible customer service, our mail delivery often contains other people's mail, which is very concerning. I am frequently returning mail that isn't even mine which leads me to believe that I am not getting all of my mail delivered. read more

If you like waiting in line to pick up a package, this is the place. USPS packages are put in the box or a bigger lock box if they fit. But, if it's UPS or FedEx or DHL, etc., you have to wait an extra day to get your package and you will have to stand in line... lots of times it's a big line and that never seems to change. Postal workers are nice but the system is a mess and such a waste of time. Surely there's a better way! read more

The people that work at the post office are nice, but the mail delivery in Avon is horrible or not at all - it sucks. It never comes at the same time, hours of variation. A letter from NJ can take two weeks to arrive to your mailbox. read more

I will never return here. I'd rather drive to another town to mail packages believe it or not. The employee with the heavy accent has some serious customer service issues. I had to switch envelope types to accommodate a shipping label (was not aware ahead of time) and he said "can you just pay so I can take the next customer?". It only takes two seconds to swap an envelope and he was basically telling me to "move it". Um, last I checked I am a customer too and there were maybe two people behind me not 20. It was so rude and honestly you can barely understand him. How is he employed there? I don't know how they do things in his country, but here we respect women and don't "move them along" like cattle. After paying the amount he didn't even give me a receipt just turned and walked away. I had to interrupt another worker to hand over my package. Shame on you Sir. read more

I dealt with the same person with the thick accent, rude, and I might add incompetent. I am now waiting for a certified piece of mail of importance for 3 days. The day of notice was left on my door on Saturday, no mail on Sunday, signed off on the notice and left it for the carrier as directed in my mailbox on Monday, waited all day, carrier took the notice but no mail, never came to my door to deliver, called the post office and learned the letter was left at the Post Office, I called and specifically asked that this certified item stay in the Post Office for me to pick up in person on Tuesday, and the carrier took the letter today and tried to deliver despite my call and request that it not go out with the carrier. Total debacle of customer service. I got less to no interest in trying to explain in person that I specifically asked to pick it up in person with the person with the thick accent. Unbelievable how incompetent this employee is and the lack of attention to what goes on here. Doesn't make one feel comfortable about their mail. I also get the wrong mail at least once a week and delivery is between 2:00-4:00, never the same time of day. I too wouldn't give Avon Post Office one star either. read more
