The woman working was touching our clothes without asking us or telling us, was rude and making passive agressive comments directed at us to other customers in the store. What an absolutely miserable experience. I went in & needed to buy detergent. The detergent machine took my $5.50 & malfunctioned. I went to the woman at the counter & asked for assistance. Clearly annoyed by me, she slammed down the lid on the lunch she was eating. Grabbed my laundry card out of my hand & stalked to the front where she inserted my card & proceeded to tell me I didn't have enough money on the card. I tried to tell her that I did & the supplies machine had taken it & not dispensed. She was not having it & refused to listen. Continued to insist I was the problem. I went to refill the card & asked her how much I needed. She replied with a snotty "whatever you want". I clarified that I needed a wash, dry & some detergent. Got a nod & dismissive wave of her hand. So I added $20 & she stalked away. What a miserable bitch. So nasty, condescending & absolutely no interest in helping a customer. We all know that Crap is King Give us dirty laundry (Dirty Laundry -Don Henley) Last week, we threw a load of laundry into our dryer, turned the knob and...... nothing !! So we just bought a new dryer, but we'll have to wait a few days for it to get delivered. Which left us in an immediate predicament of having a lot of used towels and dirty laundry to do with no real way to do the job on premises. Which brings us to our first visit to Rosie's. My first impressions? Well, it's bright and shiny new. No more raiding the piggy bank for a pocketful of quarters. You load a card with money (either cash or a credit card), and you use the card to run the washers and dryers, just like you use a card to play the games at Dave and Busters. The machines are quite plentiful with a few different capacity sizes, so that part of our visit worked very well. We washed two loads at home and just needed their dryers, and we found two with no problem. It's definitely nice inside, a far cry from the old dingy place up the hill on the left. Room for improvement? Yes, We weren't sure if there was an attendant there or not. There was someone there who might have been... she sat at a table up front, but she never looked around the crowded room, never offered to help anyone (and we needed help trying to figure out the payment system). So if she was an attendant, she did a crappy job, and if she wasn't an attendant, shame on Rosie's for not having one. As nice as the laundromat is, we felt they were pretty light on places to sit so you could watch your undies spin round and round. The dryers cost thirty five cents for ten minutes, so maybe that's a little more than the guy up the hill, but Rosie's dryers ran super-hot and did a great job. All in all, we were pretty happy with our Rosie experience. read more

I have been using it for 2 months now and I can't complain. Overall, the place was always clean, the equipment were functional 100% at all times and there were enough laundry baskets for everyone. The price is what it is but the card system is pretty simple. It would be nice to have a working wi-fi password to help pass the time. Never too crowded and the parking is very accesible. I stopped in around midday on a Saturday to wash a couple of comforters (heavy blankets) that are a bit too large for my own washing machine. The space is clean and comfortable, the owner is friendly and helpful, and the machines are efficient. I was in and out in about an hour. They don't have the super-extra-large washing machines you'll find in some other places, but what they have was large enough for my needs, that day. The free WiFi is a nice, customer-friendly touch, and the fact that you can pay with a credit card saves the pain of having to bring a roll of quarters. read more

Well, had another reason to visit a laundromat, not my favorite thing to do. Laundry that is, but, when you have a sick cat, and a nice big comforter and a washer that just isn't quite big enough, well.... Anyway, I'd been to a few of these places before, for various reasons, some are decent enough. Rosie's is a bit on the smaller side, fewer machines than your usual place. BUT, the place is much nicer, a bit more comfortable. What I really do like is the card system they have, load money onto the card and use that, instead of having to fiddle around with a few dozen rolls of quarters. Makes things quite a bit simpler. read more

I love this place. They are always so friendly and the laundry card is very convenient. This morning I put a comforter in a washer and the nice employee there agreed to move it into the dryer for me. I went off to my exercise class and when I came back it was all finished and wrapped in plastic waiting for me. Machines are so clean and the customer service is outstanding. read more

I never, ever use this place because of that bitch behind the counter. She has been nothing but rude since she started there. My daughter sometimes feels she must go in, so she is able to confirm that she's still there (is she blackmailing the owner?) and still quite rude. She doesn't look at you, let alone greet you, she gives one-word answers, she tries to do as little as possible, and tries to ignore you until she can't anymore. Once close to closing time, when I thought she was off duty, I had to go for some reason. I saw lights so I gathered my things & went to the door. I guess I wasn't close enough to the door to activate the slider, so it seemed locked. I was dismayed to see that only she was inside, but she would obviously let me in or tell me it's closed or SOMETHING. Nope! She looked straight into my eyes and then returned to whatever she was doing. I banged on the glass door and even THAT didn't make her approach. We're talking about maybe 10 feet between us. This USE to be my go to laundry mat. Always clean. Machines always work. Last time I went there Sunday September 23rd I had alot of laundry I would say 15 loads. So I carry in my 2 clothes baskets and 2 bags. I leave them by two big loaders and go get another bag from my car. I come back and the worker had taken the second machine I was going to use. Sunday is a busy day and she took maybe a load prob not even and put it in the big 6 loader. She saw me bring in all my laundry and put it near the two big loaders. Not only did I have to wait 15 min to get another big loader but there was other customers coming in and the employee had at least 3 maybe 4 washing machines being used by her and a bunch of dryers. This is a small laundry mat. Why would the employee use so many machines and put such a small amount in. Time to find a new laundry mat for me and my family of 6. read more

This place is great and conveniently located off of route 44 in Avon. I've used Rosie's a couple of times now to wash king size comforters that won't fit in my washing machine at home. If you arrive early enough in the morning, chances are your comforter will be ready same day. Otherwise, first thing the next morning. For only $15 my comforter was washed, dried, and neatly folded up and placed in an easy-to-carry plastic bag. Eliminate the struggle at home and let the experts take care of your over-sized loads. Did my laundry here for the first time the other day. It was clean and had newer machines. It's not as big as the other laundromat on 44, but it's got attendants that are more personal and they are more high tech. They have a laundry card marching so you don't need quarters, TVs, and free Wifi. I will be coming back again to do my laundry here again. read more

Machines are newer models and are always working properly. This place is clean!!! Immaculate inside and out. Staff is very helpful and friendly. 4 stars instead of 5 because the supplies on site are ridiculously overpriced. You'll spend $6.00 for a $.99 bottle of bleach, so be sure to being your own detergent/bleach and softener. Other than that, this is the best laundromat in the area in my opinion. read more

Very clean, pleasant environment. The attendant is friendly and helpful and all their machines seem to be working well. The machines are large and fast. I did a huge load of towels and blankets in one large washer and one dryer in less than an hour--only 30 minutes dry time for such a large load of heavy items. I came here twice, once on a busy Sunday evening another time on a quiet Monday mid afternoon. Came both times to wash a blanket and matress topper I could not fit into my own washer, their large one seemed to do the trick. The positives include that the place is kept very clean and tidy, they have a detergent and snack vending machine, multiple washer and dryer sizes, they accept credit/debit and cash, plenty of space to fold and even a TV at each folding station. Now for the negatives, not a single garbage in sight, their virtually nonexistent seating situation (4 chairs in the whole place) and lastly their employees. I listened to the attendant speak loudly, to customers might I add, about the recent influx of "sketchy, trashy, gross, and nasty" people that have been coming in "since they opened that goodwill up the street." Mende , the attendant at Rosie's is extremely helpful and very patient with all people. That place is very busy at times and she is ALWAYS willing to stop and help someone. I live in Tariffville and could go to Granby, a 5 minute ride, but I would rather go to Avon. It's just an all around better experience.
