The Staples store at Avon, CT, never disappoints me and always tries its best to making sure all customers are satisfied. I have been a loyal customer for this store for many years and have always enjoyed shopping there. The staff and the manager are always pleasant, professional, cordial, and never hesitate to help. I stopped by Staples in Simsbury to print some end of the school year materials. One of the items I needed to get printed was on a flash drive. There was a very nice gentleman named Adam who printed these colorful cards for me. They had a watermark, that he asked if I'd like it removed, I told him yes please and he did. I was very happy with the service I received from Adam. The other thing I needed printed was some pictures off my email. Sadly Adam was gone, a young girl who looked to be about 17 took his place. I emailed them the pictures and I explained to her that the pictures should be small, and several of them can fit on one page. She said they "can't do that". There were a lot of pictures, that were also printed on fancy hard stock paper, that was completely unnecessary. It is so wasteful to print one small picture in the center of a full sheet of paper. The total came to $68.00, that's completely ridiculous. She called the manager over, who offered to give me $10.00 off. That's still robbery. I didn't get the pictures. Teacher's personal budgets don't expand very far as it is. Adam was very friendly, personable and helpful. The other associate was none of those things. I had downloaded a document to be reproduced on blueprint paper with instructions about centering the material. When I picked up the project I was told it couldn't be done so they just reprinted it without the adjustment and I couldn't use it this way. I said that at least if you couldn't do it a call to talk to me about it before printing what I didn't want and couldn't use in that format would have seemed appropriate. He did offer to preprint it at no cost if I could center it. The next day I made some adjustments with my computer and downloaded the project again. When I picked it up it looked better, however Valerie had remembered the discussion I had with the other worker a few days before and took the initiative to reformat and cut the piece so it was now centered. So, first, my big focus in life, parking lots - This feels a little small for the amount of businesses around it, but the worst part is getting in and out. It's a very busy multi-lane road in the front, and I shudder to think how traffic must get obstructed by those trying to turn left. There is another entrance if you turn onto Route 167 that is easier to access. The store itself is clean although feels a little cramped, as though it was reorganized without the ability to change most of the display stands. The cashier was nice, although seemed to be pulling double-duty by cleaning and having to monitor the register from afar. read more

I can't say enough GOOD about the services I received at this Staples. I needed some invitations made up, and 5 signs for a baby shower. Valerie and a young man ( sorry, didn't catch his name) were extremely helpful in getting the downloaded pdf files off my phone and sent to them so that I could accomplish this task. Honestly, it had never occurred to me to write a review for a place like Staples before. But the service I received here the other day at their print/copy center was so exceptional, I have to write about it. I came in to have a large pen and ink drawing originally drawn on cream drawing paper to be copied and printed on a crisp white card stock paper. The initial copy came out with lines across it, but the man helping me opened the printer and cleaned it and tried again no questions asked. There were fewer lines in the second copy by far, but it was not perfect. He then took a scan of my drawing and spent 10 minutes perfectly editing the image on the computer and then printed it a final time, it was flawless. Throughout this entire process both men working there were professional and friendly to myself and every other customer they assisted while my item was being worked on. I honestly felt as though they went above and beyond in everything I saw them doing. Fantastic customer service and attention to detail! read more

Have been a regular customer since they first opened up. I use their copy service quite a bit --- e-mailing them newsletters or dinner programs or golf programs to print, staple, fold- and it all goes very well. Have occasionally upgraded to things like color printing or spiral binding with great results. The staff is a dream to deal with. They have a nice mark-down section where I like to go prospecting for bargains and buried treasure- once bought a box of K-Cup teas there for a few bucks!! read more

Beware of this store. They call you for an interview and than lie that the whole time you were on phone lol. The person I interviewed with told me a Walmart movie, and I decided to type the movie name on my cell. Afterwards lol he implied the whole time I was on phone implied by the feedback I received from their other manager. This store has some bad reviews in customer service. We are racking up all my proclivities here today on Yelp. If I am not eating pizza, or reading books, or drinking Earl Gray Tea at the bookstore, I am over at Staples, my second favorite store in the entire world. Why? Because I am obsessed with writing implements, which they have an extremely large collection of at the store. They've got some lovely uniball pens which I love and also gel pens. The other thing I like about Staples is that you can buy products in bulk at very low prices which is really important for me as a writer. For instance, I can get enough paper to keep me going for months in one of the enormous boxes of paper they have on sale. I love the large cartons of toilet paper, paper towels, and bottles of water, the enormous cartons of keurig coffee and teas, the oversized bags of candy, the cleaning products; it's all there for your delight. They have all different kinds of sizes and colors of subject notebooks, binders of all sizes and colors--anything you can put your mind to for a presentation, they've got the materials available for you to purchase. Literally, you could spend all day walking around the store and imagining what you could do with their products. I will say the part of the store I use the most has always been the copy shop. They do some of the most difficult and challenging work that I need done for my work and the staff there always maintain their courtesy and calm, even when I am outrageous in my demands--like do this major job right now in ten minutes I have a deadline oh my god!!! I do remember at the beginning of my writing career how the copy center made ten copies of a book I'd written which didn't have page numbers. Don't ask me how that happened, but it did. They got lost, found themselves, got lost again, but kept on going and did the whole job properly. I give them credit, because if I'd been doing it, I never would have finished it properly. And just in case you were wondering, I have had Staples make me really great, inexpensive business cards and stationary for my business, and I really appreciate that. So for those of you who have a business and run up against a wall and need office supplies, definitely go to Staples. They always have what you need, and if they don't they can order it online, and they are only too pleased to be of assistance. They are great people.
