Ever since moving to this zipcode, USPS deliveries have become a pain. This location messes up deliveries all the time. I have had a few instances where they show the package as delivered and it's not delivered or they will leave a note in the mailbox - please pick up, instead of delivering the packages to the apartment leasing office. Took several phone calls to USPS customer service and this location to figure out where the packages are and finally get them delivered. Hopefully they improve their service in future. read more

We ordered something online and it said our package had been delivered. Three days went by so we called to see if we could somehow figured out what happened. We were not mad at all, but were just trying to call to see what the process was to find a lost package. The man who answered the phone snapped at us and was very rude and unhelpful. Doubt we get a phone call follow up like he said. Checked with our neighbors and no one has our package. read more

Horrible customer service. Very rude and unhelpful when I needed help locating a package that is potentially lost. I will avoid using this USPS location when I need assistance with anything mail related. read more

On Jan 8, I dropped off a damaged phone that I must return to my cell phone insurer within 10 days of receiving a replacement phone. I put it in the first class drop box inside, and checked to make sure it had gone in. The penalty for failure to return the phone is several hundred dollars. As of today, the 17th, it is still not showing up on tracking. I complained last Friday to a counter clerk and was also given the song and dance (no where posted) that the branch only scans mail at the counter. Fortunately, I had with me a printout from usps.com website showing that they are supposed to scan when mail is picked up. After the clerk searched for my mail (couldn't find it), it was agreed that the device envelope SHOULD have been scanned. This was confirmed by USPS Customer Service today when I phoned in a missing mail complaint. He said "Someone at that office needs to tell ALL the clerks that the mail must be scanned into tracking when it is picked up from the drop box." So the branch manager is choosing to go against USPS policy. Hate to have ugly thoughts, but when this policy isn't enforced, it becomes a precursor to internal theft- where the miscreant realizes it will be customers' word against the tracking system showing the item was never received...and even a damaged cell phone is worth money. I have a word for the manager, Norman was it? If this branch were under COMPETENT management, it would not be necessary for people to go to the counter for the employees to do their jobs. The burden is not on the customer to assume gross negligence. It is on the those accepting and agreeing to deliver items of value, who are charging the new, higher, enhanced first class rate for packages that INCLUDES delivery confirmation. By the way, I dropped some packages over at Anderson Lane branch today- they were scanned in by this evening. Items I dropped at your branch Monday- still not on the system. read more

There is a reason everyone HATES the post office and the dmv. I have never met a group of people who were more rude, less helpful, and so passive agessive. I can't believe that people whose jobs are to help are so rude and unwilling to come to a solution. The way they spoke to my mother was appalling. Absolutely ridiculous. They would not look up our passport applications in their database (even though the state department, their BOSS said three separate times with three separate agents told them to) and wouldn't call to confirm, instead saying that we were trying to convince them to "do something that is not right". Um??? We asked you to look up our applications and notarize a signature! In order to solve our passport issue (which is time sensitive), we were told to pay the $140 dollars per applicant again and drive to Houston to restart the paperwork. Worst experience ever. So rude, absolutely unhelpful, uncaring, and condescending. I'm so sorry to anyone else that has to go there. read more

I did my passport here and Peter was very helpful. I did not know that I needed an appointment to get a passport, but he was able to schedule me later in the day. I was so happy that the process was easy. I am really happy that I went there because he was so kind. He was able to help my husband as well. Yay! read more

This is the worst Post Office that I ever had to deal with, and I've dealt with some crappy post offices. I am currently missing 5 packages and three checks totaling over $3k. Supposedly, four of the packages were delivered to my mailbox according to the tracking number--they aren't there. I also go to the post office and ask if they have any mail for me--nothing. I have asked the senders of these packages/checks if the mail had been returned to them by mistake--not at all. This isn't the first time I've had to deal with shit like this from this post office--it happens at least once or twice a year since I moved here three years ago. read more

Not sure when the nice employees work, but I haven't met them. I showed up just before closing to pick up a package, I would have gotten there sooner, but they close before I get off work, so I had to try to leave work early. Anyways, the woman told me to wait, then said they were closed. This is not the first problem I've had here. All I wanted was someone to hand me the box with my name on it so I could be on my way. read more

Today is 3/21. I left a postage-paid package there on 3/15/16. According to its tracking number, it was accepted at the PO at 2:55 PM that day. I have been tracking it since then and the only tracking info I get is that it is still at this post office. I have tried calling them, but no one ever answers the phone. I tried the automated 800 tracking number, but it refused to connect you to a person. I am thoroughly disgusted. A package I left at UPS on the same arrived at its destination two days ago. read more

The only reason I am giving two stars is because I only dealt with one employee. Maybe they're not all so unhelpful... I went to this location to obtain a passport. The staff member seemed to derive pleasure from telling me how difficult it was going to be. Apparently, they only process passports by appointment between 12 and 2 pm. The rude staff member also seemed to delight in insisting I had the wrong paperwork, but refused to tell me what the correct paperwork is. Utterly un-enjoyable. Avoid this place and its employees at all costs. If you need a passport, go to the international office at UT (across from Fricano's on 24th street). read more

I no longer go to any U.S. Post office in Austin, especially to this location. I now go to a private shipping service. I might pay a bit more but at least I am treated with dignity. I am from Chicago and I loved the U.S. Postal service in Chicago. From the carriers to the people in the office. The carriers were always part of the family. We always looked forward to seeing them everyday. Here in Austin the carriers delivering mail driving little trucks yell at you if a day laborer working on your house block the mailbox. The carriers in Chicago walk they don't have the luxury to drive truck. I don't see the big deal in having to get out of truck once in awhile to put mail in mailbox. I will not get started on the service in the office. The day after 4th of July I was obligated to go to FAR WEST USPS because the private office was closed. I have not been there in about 2 years. Service still the crummy same. I had two little children with me and I had to BEG the worker to give me a hand please to put tape on the box. Like I said I don't mind going and paying for private service. read more
