I've had multiple negative experiences at this USPS location, and the biggest issue is the staff's unprofessional behavior. During a previous visit, I witnessed an employee become visibly frustrated and yell at a Hispanic customer who was simply asking for help. The employee repeatedly emphasized that she "doesn't speak Spanish" in a very aggressive and unnecessary manner, which was uncomfortable and inappropriate to witness. When I returned on a later date, I encountered the same employee and was met with a rude attitude for no apparent reason. I was polite and respectful, yet still received dismissive and unfriendly treatment. What made the experience even worse is that multiple employees openly mocked and made fun of customers together, in front of others waiting in line. This is extremely unprofessional, especially for a government service meant to serve the public respectfully. Customer service here feels hostile and unwelcoming. I hope management addresses these issues, as no customer should feel uncomfortable, disrespected, or embarrassed simply for asking for help. read more

I paid for priority mail on September 13, 2024, for a letter/document to be delivered in Maryland. I was told it would arrive by September 16, 2024, and here it is September 23, 2024, and my important document still has not arrived to it's destination. I paid close to $10 for it to be there on time. If this was a life or death moment, I would be dead. I would highly advise people not to use this service for important documents. There are times when I wish I spent more time with my dad in the backyard, learning to throw things farther and faster, because I wish I could avoid this post office and hurl a package to my sister in Paw Paw, Michig@n instead of coming here. (Yes, I know I used the @ for an a, but I'm an Ohio State Fan- so it's par for the course). I have been in this location exactly THREE TIMES, and each time the lady who is here is as surly as the day is long. Did she take my package, weigh it and ask me if I needed anything else? Yes. But the manner in which said questions were presented made me think UPS from now on. Not to pile on, but the place needed a serious cleaning too. I mean...... it's the post office..... usually this one has a long line... and there is a really crabby lady who works there. At least you would think she's crabby by first impressions. But after coming here a bazillion times in the last 3 years, I find her monotone "can I help someone?" to be the best part about my visit. She totally cracks me up. She doesn't take crap from any of the customers, especially the ones who don't know how to follow passport procedures. She speaks in a passive aggressive tone of "you idiot" when she tells the people they need to readdress their envelope if they want the other person to get the mail. She always remains calm when people don't understand post office procedures and she is just trying to do her job, while at the same time you can read her eyes screaming, "how did you pass 3rd grade?" I'm not sure what her name is but lady, you make my day every time I go to the post office. I hope this review does not get her into trouble because I don't want her to change at all! =) read more

Avoid passport dept. at all cost. Since USPS is going down hill I thought you would like to know why. Simply put, customer service. Thought I could tell countless stories of poor customer service or rude people, today was OVER THE TOP. I scheduled an appointment to get a passport for my child. My family arrived early for out 1:45 time slot. We were directed to the passport area to wait where I spoke to a older black woman with glasses who was cutting a picture for another passport. She asked twice in a row if we had an appointment and then asked out last name. Afterward, she finished with the customer ahead of us then started helping customers mailing packages. After a few minutes she helped someone else that just showed up and did their 2 or 3 passports. The continued with more package customers. After a while she called a few names including mine which I raised my hand and said, "that's me!" Again, continued with other customers. After almost an hour we spoke to what we thought was a manager. A black male. We explained everything and he spoke the passport woman who spoke loudly, "Well, I called them 4 times!" Then the man we thought to be in charge walked away and never returned. Though this is not life-ending it was extremely frustrating. I bet you are thinking we should call the 800 number. We did and was placed on hold. After 8 to 10 minutes someone popped on the line and said, "Please hold." Back on hold we went for another 9-10 minutes when we were finally just hung up on. We called again! Finally, after being on hold a long time again, reached a useless person who said nothing would happen to her but maybe a letter. This is why the Postal Service is going bankrupt. I am now paying a lot more to do this passport through a company and I am happy to do so because at least the job will get done right. read more

I had a package say it was delivered on 18 Jan to a parcel locker at my apartment building. I received no such package. I called the location to see if maybe the carrier forgot to put a parcel locker key in my mailbox and to see if they could look into it. The lady on the phone said they would give me a call back to let me know if they found anything. It is now 30 January, I don't have my package, and I cannot get in touch with anyone at the facility. Given the nature of the items missing, I assume they were stolen by someone in the mail carrier system as it was never left unattended outside and was officially reported as "delivered to a parcel locker." read more

I wish I could give a zero star. This review is particularly for a short-haired black lady with glasses who works there. When I asked her a question about my package label, she became extremely irritated then started acting hostile towards me. She started speaking to me extra loud and slowly (with rolling eyes). What was all the rudeness for? When I called 800 number to report this incident and started describing how she looked, I was told that there is nothing they can do as this would be too "touchy".....I still don't understand what they meant. read more

I am rating this location on their passport service. Unlike the one on Franconia Road, this place is the best. The Jamaican lady who did our passport was very swift and friendly. I had no idea you had to make appointments to renew your passport for your child. I thought you could just get the form and mail the kid's old passport and that was it. I just wanted to ask questions and submit the form and old passport in an envelope and be done with it when we went to the Franconia Post Office, but there we were told that we had to make an official appointment [since 2011]. Both parents and child must be present and you have to submit the child's passport along with his birth certificate. In 2008, when I got my baby's passport, it was just walk up to the counter and submit your form, picture, etc and that was the end of that. So this location was perfect. I made our appointment at this location because the Franconia one had the first available slot a week out. The one in Bailey's Cross Roads was a month out! Engleside had slots right away, which was exciting! I can't believe I was so excited because you never know what with the government shut down 2 months ago will happen in the world of passport processing so it's better to do it now rather than tomorrow. Then I didn't read the form the night before, but I read the form on our way to the appointment, and it says you need a copy of identification form, front and back. So I assume they want a copy of my son's birth certificate, old passport, and current VA ID card??? So we rush to go into Office Depot on the way there and I spend almost $4 on COLORED copies of all those forms of IDs. Turns out the passport lady needed a copy of mine and my husband's ID cards. Anyway, she was nice enough to make a photo copy of our IDs and I think she charged us 65 cents because we were charged that as a miscellaneous fee, but I wish the UNITED STATES government would have been so kind to type on the instructions sheet that the PARENTS' id cards needed to be copied, front and back. Anyhow, the Jamaican lady worked on a lady in front of us in 5 minutes, and then us 10 minutes because I was so nervous, worrying about if we had the right documents or whatever. Literally I had all of our most important legal documents laying out in a folder, all of our passports, birth certificates, social security cards, etc. It was nerve wracking because I didn't want to have to come back and make another appointment and take my kid out of school again. Luckily, this location has Saturday appointments, I believe, unlike Franconia. The Passport lady made everything so easy and smooth. Too bad, a kid's passport is only good for darn 5 years so I am going to have to come back, and when I do it will be this location, even if I have to drive 30 minutes out of my way. read more

This post office is easily seen, driving north and south on Richmond Highway. It is unto itself and has adequate parking. It also has a lobby, open 24/7, for the retrieval of mail from post office boxes. read more

Very bad experience!!!!!! We come in to send 2 letter size parcels and 1 small parcel oversea, the 1st lady named Leslie ask me to fill out another two big form 2976-A. Since I have 1 form has already filled out before I came in, I ask her to send the 1st parcel 1st when I am filling the rest of it. She ask me to stand aside to finish the rest of it, and she call the next customer! Fine, I finished it and wait for her to finish the next customer! She asked another lady next to her counter to do it for me since there is no more people waiting in the line. She charges me almost $ 30 for letter size parcel ?! She explained that it's a priority mail take 6-10 business days; then I asked what rate for the first class mail? About $3 , also take 6-10 business days. I asked if there is any different between these two. And she silent* just because put priority sticker on the box ??!! And she advised to write the address on the box not sticker! Haha , isn't it so funny?? In the end, I went to another post office in mt Vernon square which is much much better!! read more

So yesterday I received an email saying they attempted delivery of a package and left a notice re this. Well, I was home. It did NOT need signature. And there was no notice left. I've tried calling the office phone number to find out about this. The first time, it rang for about 2 minutes, so I hung up.
