I went there recently to retrieve a package that I thought had been sent to them instead of to my Post Office Box at another post office. The woman that helped me was very professional, friendly and helpful. She looked everywhere in that post office for my box. She even called the other post office. It turns out that I had looked at the routing info and thought that my package was at a post office that it had been routed through! read more

Based on the reviews, I would say in the recent times I've used this post office, their customer service has improved tremendously. The postal workers I've interacted with were friendly, helpful and ready to assist. Sure, this location is much smaller than other post offices I've been to, not to mention, slightly dated in terms of interior but they still get the job done swiftly. I have come in during the holiday season and have not had to wait in a line that went out the door. They have 3 registers at the counter and if the lines grew, then there was always someone taking someone's orders. I've really appreciated the times I've come in to have mail and packages delivered in a timely manner. I highly recommend the Belle View Post Office for your postal needs if ever you're in the area. read more

Now I know why the Post Office is losing money, because branches such as the Belle View Branch manage to find new lows in poor customer service. I stopped in to mail off a package today, only to discover a line snaking out the door. It's not Christmas or Tax day, so what gives? I'll tell you what gives, postal pals, an employee-in-training with no one to help her handle the idle chit chat that so many customers seem hell-bent on dispensing to a captive audience. With no one to instruct the newbie on how to diplomatically move chatty customers along, the rest of us are forced to watch the line grow as we listen to such customers drone on about special postal stamps, or why their newspapers and periodicals weren't held with the rest of their vacation mail. "I don't understand what happened to our newspapers and magazines?" "I can't say, Mam, but you missing any letters or bills?" "No, they seem to be all here, but what about my newspapers and magazines?" "This can happen sometimes. We have a number that you can call to follow up on the matter." Ugh 10 minutes later and the same conversation was limping a long without any resolution. The novice postal clerk was incapable of bringing an end to a conversation that just wouldn't end. It was so bad that I wanted to scream. My internal dialogue went as follows: Lady, after a month, your papers are history and only good for lining the bottom of bird cages. It is called the internet, Chatty Cathy, I'm sure you'll find some news there. Oh,and that Cosmo you're crying about most likely has an article or such on how to keep that special guy happy. Here's a tip, stop whining about every little thing, and maybe there will be smiles all around the homestead. Finally, no one cares about your missing Redbook. Move on, Martha Stewart, I am sure it has. Sarte once said that, "Hell is other people," and I am now certain that he was right. However, as awful as this logjam of a customer was, the employees could have pulled someone from the back to open up another line, or how about sending a more experienced agent to assist the trainee? Stereotypical Government employees...don't care about service, slow, rude, unhelpful & just don't care. I wish a decent postal inspector would stand in line as a customer to see how they get treated. Recently they sent overnight mail to the wrong state by inputting the wrong zip code. Their job is to get this right. And aren't they supposed to have me confirm the address?...they never did. Can I make this no stars??? Mail I sent out was returned to me, yes it had the right postage. Yes the post office goofed up. Yes I tried the web site. It was if no use. Yes I called on the phone, omg what a Kludge that was. I hate with the passion of a thousand suns voice mail systems that are an endless loop. Used this PO to send an express mail priority overnight letter to NYC. Paid almost $30 and was guaranteed next day delivery. Sent it Thursday and it wasn't delivered until the following Monday afternoon, only after 25 phone calls, long waits and contrary excuses being given. Ridiculous service - especially as the Post office in NYC was in the same building where my package needed to be delivered. Just on a different floor. Instead of delivering, it sat in the Post office for days. Deadline missed! I went back to Belle View to get a refund. Some slovenly young guy sauntered out, said he would check, disappeared out the back and I could hear him talking to a friend on the phone (idiot) and so I called out "hello?" and he came back saying his computer was loading - yes, I am sure! Of course, then he said no refund and have a nice day. The Post Office is complete crap and needs to be taken over and run by professionals instead of the low level people and lack of service that they currently have. read more

This post office is the worst! And the older woman running it needs to find a new line of work. I have had multiple problems with package deliveries and now I can't even get them to put mail in my mailbox. The postal inspector general needs to investigate this post office. Got a package a year late! Go do your business elsewhere and save yourself the frustration. read more

Costumer service is awful. The employees feel it's ok to use sarcasm with the costumers and are not shy to speak loudly enough to find somebody in the long waiting line to wink at in agreement with the way they are treating the costumer...because the long line IS the costumer's fault... Not the biggest and not the best looking but that doesn't seem to slow anything down. I've been here twice and haven't had any problems. The staff is slightly more friendly than the typical USPS employee and they have all the usual postal goodies for you to buy. I think the reason I like it the most is because it feels like a small town Post Office but the one thing I don't like are the hours (though that's just typical USPS hours). read more

Like I've said in other reviews of Post Offices, they are the cheapest option so I can't resist. I always regret it when I'm waiting in a really long line that moves super slow. Always too many steps for each retail person (who looks like they are the most miserable people on the planet) as they measure boxes with measuring tape, ask a bunch of uneccesary questions, etc. This location is even worse, I waited once over an hour. Granted it was during lunch time but they had one person working there. At one point he even went in the back for a while and no one was there. Absurd. read more

I generally have decent experiences at this post office. Sometimes the wait is longer than I care for, but there's one employee in particular who's always friendly to me. It makes the wait more bearable. The other postal employees are pretty cold, which seems typical for most post offices. Bottom line, this location always gets my packages out in a timely manner and I prefer this location to the other half dozen or so in my area. read more

I've been sending the same parcel every week to my employer with the same proper dollar amount postage and same tracking requirements for god knows how long. This is the first time I so happen to be in your area and drop off my mail and you send it back stating rubbish that I cannot send my parcel out the way that which I've been doing for years. I'm sorry but aren't you following the same policy as the rest of the USPS or do you make your own rules up in your facility? In many businesses, the customer service experience is a critical differentiator. I had a very unpleasant experience with Erin at USPS in Belle View Post Office. She was unprofessional, inexperienced and rude. You could tell she hated her job and I hate the fact that she is a customer facing person representing the US Postal Service. The United States Post Office has a myriad of professionals and I am sorry she is not one them and hope others don't think her attitude is indicative of the larger organization. read more

I just had the worst experience at the PO at Belle View Shopping center in Alexandria, VA. Usually the clerks are ok..sometimes you'll get one that is decent to you but generally they all act like they hate their job. But this young girl talked so fast to me and I repeated a question back to her and she looked at me like I had 3 heads and repeated her answer to me again and she had a slight neck roll going on along with eye popping. It was so condescending, belittling and rude! She gave me my change back and never said a word to me as in a thank you, have a good day etc...so I said thank you and then she responded. As I was going out the door I looked back and a young guy who had been waiting in line behind me and they both busted out laughing..maybe it was about me I really don't know. It doesn't matter. This girl was super rude and should not be working with the public. This happened on 04-18-19 around 4:00 PM. read more
