This post office delivered a hand sign thing to the house. He did not stand the porch long at all. By the time I got to the front door he was totally gone. I went up to the post office to get the package. They lost it. They cannot find it for the last four days. My usual post lady was very good. The new guy not so good question him he's the last guy who had my package. You guys need to be more responsible I'm about to fill out an inspector general's complaint form.!!!!! It's so frustrating to do something nice for a family member and the fact that they can't even find the address that I'm sending it to is just ridiculous. She even asked me if that was the right address I'm just standing there in my head saying "why would I even write that address down?" Like many who posted just moved to this area and post office as base this year 2020. Of course also writing this during pandemic. If I would have written this on my first (or second or third or fourth) visit I would have used less stars. But they get a "A" for effort. I want to call out two people who are really good - the woman who usually works in the center station and has blonde/white? hair. She was not only very helpful and really researched our "not getting mail" issue, she was kind and remembered me. She definately gets 5 stars. I will also give the manager 4 stars. I believe that the underlying issue is the entire postal system here. There appears to be a bad combination of control vs autonomy. One comment I received one of the visits (NOT from the woman) was "well the keys are made at the central Albuquerque office and they have to go ALL THE WAY there". I believe this is 14 miles. Where we lived before our mailman was part of our family for over 15 years. I had his cell number, and even now he takes the mail we get at old office and gives to my husband who is still there until our house cells/and or virus is over. So its hard that there seems to be a disconnect between the mail people and their customers. The more the mail carriers make connections with customers the more that they can be seen as people and not a system. Just an idea. read more

I've used this post office station for the past five years. The lobby clerks are always courteous and strive to be efficient, especially during high volume time in the winter holiday season. Sometimes, there's a clerk in the lobby with her own portable desk. She's always enthusiastic and effective in helping. The line for picking up mail is always separate from the one for purchasing services. All that aside, the line for picking up mail can be the longest ever when neighborhood mailboxes have been vandalised! So far, I've not had to stand in that very sad line; and I haven't seen anymore of those for a long time. I'm glad that the mailboxes in my neighborhood have been replaced to prevent any future thievery. I'm very sorry for those who've had their mail stolen or lost. What I've had difficulty with is the automated package mailing machines. They require a PIN# for the credit card payment which I don't know or use normally. It requires a bit of USPS knowledge of the size and kind of package I'm mailing. I've goofed up on this several times and have had my packages returned. So, I avoid those machines, unless I just need to purchase stamps. I'm glad to say I normally can buy those at the desk. Finally, I believe all the clerks at this station strive to be courteous and caring in what they do. I appreciate the consistency of service they've offered me at the front desk. When the postal servers are out and about, they respond positively when I've waved HI or have a brief question. read more

I'm returning some merchandise I bought online back to Thailand. My package came back return to sender and Tony was so prompt, professional and knowledgeable. I really appreciate coming to this post office. Kudos to him for helping his coworker (a younger gal) that had a question and needed assistance with every customer she helped. I have definitely had a bad time at this post office in the past, so I am not surprised to see all the bad reviews. But, I've been in twice this December to mail holiday gifts during pandemic operations and was genuinely surprised at how much better the experience was. This post office is busy, all the time, so you will wait in a line. Right now, they are allowing like nine people in the lobby at a time, so you will do that outside in the cold. Good thing you have a mask on! (If you are simply dropping letters or packages in the box, you can pass the line and just run in.) They've had someone stationed at the door who is monitoring the number of people in the building, advancing the line, and sometimes goes outside and walks the line to pull anyone waiting that is just dropping off. I saw her bring packaging materials outside so people could get things ready before they got inside (with only nine people in there, you don't have much wait once you get in the door.) It was all hands on deck at the counter, and everyone I dealt with was quick, friendly and took care of everything I needed. I used to drive across town to go to my favorite post office in my old neighborhood just to avoid this one, but I'm glad I gave this one another chance. I think they're improving. read more

This post office on Paradise Hills for zip code 87120 used to be decent but now has a list of issues ranging from multiple, mail box thefts, questionable mail carriers & delivery of damaged, open packages which happens on a regular cycle. Approximately 4 1/2 years ago my mail arrived within 2 days from Amazon...now its a hit or miss or orders slowly trickle in. Our mail service has essentially slowed to a crawl that has ranged from 5 days to 3 1/2 wks for a normal delivery. Since it's not possible to give a business zero stars, then I guess one star it is. This post office has been problematic since I moved to this zip code. In the last two months, I've had to go there 5 times, and stand in line 45min-2hours to conduct my own missing parcel investigations. Some background: my neighborhood has lock boxes with parcel lockers on the bottom for large packages that do not fit in the individual mail lockers. Over the last 6 weeks (holiday present season) I've been tracking my usps packages online. Only about half of them have made it into my mailbox. I will get a delivery notification, then head to my box, only to find that my package isn't there. I believe the mail carrier has been putting them in the parcel locker, and then placing the key in the wrong address's box. Unfortunately It's a large cluster of mailboxes, and we aren't tight with the neighbors, so I'm not getting my parcels because they aren't being returned to the post office by whoever receives them. On five separate occasions I've gone to this post office to investigate what happened, and see what I can do to ensure this doesn't keep happening. I've waited in line countless hours (also to return some packages that weren't mine that were delivered to me) only to be told "hopefully they turn up" by various rude and unconcerned workers. I've asked if I could have an email or phone number to follow up, and they will only give me the 1-800 #, and the generic usps email. The staff (management included) are dismissive, and offer no recourse for the lost packages. Unfortunately I'm a contractor, so I've lost time and money trying to get to the bottom of the issue. It must be nice to have a federal job with union protection so you can continue to do a poor job and be unaccountable for all errors. Good luck trying to file a complaint about your carrier. I shouldn't have to complain to get my mail put in the correct box, so it isn't stolen. For the record, every other post office that my addresses have been affiliated with in Albuquerque have been great, and have had good customer service. I usually give my carriers gift cards for the holidays. This year I didn't, because they have caused me much unneeded stress and wasted my time. read more

MANY Years of shipping Packages and NEVER in the MANY Years have I had so many People that don't want to do their job. It's about as bad as it could get. Today I went in after a package wasn't scanned early in week, the clerk yelled at me that I must be putting the labels on wrong (after doing this for years). Call the post office but just end up getting cut off because no one answers the phone and if you opt to speak to a human, the same happens. Here's the deal. Who won the mail fraud lottery today? This guy! You know what? Now that I think about it, I've won the mail fraud lottery, like, four times. Good for you, Albuquerque... Today our communal mail center was raided, a neighbor saw the two women who brought the crowbar, and confronted them before they could pop the third box. Broad daylight, probably a stolen car, man, serious huevos. Anyway, in case you don't know protocol, the first thing you do in this situation is report the felony to the authorities. The second thing? Contact your local post office to arrange pick-up, until the mail box gets fixed. I'm on step two: contacting my post office. I've called four times over the last two hours, nobody answers. Reviews on Google say stuff like "Why don't these people answer the phone?" And now I'm on hold with 1-800-Ask-USPS. Expected hold for an available representative: 30 minutes. I just keep wondering if, like, this is part of employee training. "Oh yeah, and the phone, don't answer it. None of us answer the phone. I've had several packed denied delivery in the last week. I went into the post office to try and retrieve my packages but they'd sent them all back. I'd been calling the lobby for days, never once did someone answer, not even a machine. My name is in the mailbox, but I was told my packages weren't delivered because they didn't recognize the name!!?? Fairly new facility on the fast growing west side of ABQ. In the Taylor Ranch / Paradise Hills area. This post office is often very business as it serves a large area and there are no other post offices close by. Prepare to wait in line around Christmas and during prime daytime hours. Best time to come is right after they open or prior to their closing. They need more post offices on the west side of ABQ to increase customer service. read more

I went in today around 2:45pm to mail two boxes. The older woman with short hair working the front was incredibly impatient with me. I rarely ever mail packages and truthfully have no clue what the process looks like and was hoping for some assistance. She spoke down to me when she noticed that I didn't have the addresses written on the packages (I had sticky notes ready in case I needed to fill out a sticker or something). She then spoke to me extremely condescendingly after I accidentally wrote the addresses on the box in the wrong spots. I told her I was going to leave and come back another day since she was being rude (but absolutely will take my business to UPS or FedEx instead), and she then condescendingly told me to have a good day. What was her problem??? PLEASE remove her from the front or speak with her about her terrible customer service skills. She lost the USPS our family's money for the foreseeable future and made me feel like an idiot. My son just got discharged from the hospital after 2.5 months and I was trying to send thank you packages to the people who supported us. There was no reason to treat me that way, there wasn't even anybody behind me waiting! I hope she has the day she deserves after ruining mine. Also--someone should be answering your phones. No one picked up when I tried to call to speak with a manager. Do better for your community, it's a hard time for all of us. read more

Quite possibly the slowest moving staff I have ever seen...and I've seen some doozies. Man. If there's even three people ahead of you, expect to wait 30 minutes. Average person takes ten minutes each, which makes me wonder if rocket science is a requirement to work for USPS. Sure seems that way since it's a lot of effort for questions, customer service...basically anything that requires them to interact with the public. Is this the norm for Albuquerque?!? Apparently it takes more than 4 days to drive 7 miles across Albuquerque. I was expecting a package to be delivered on Saturday 6/16/18. It was handed over from FedEx to USPS sort facility in Albuquerque on Friday 6/15 at 7:10 AM. It is now Monday 6/18 at 10:55 AM and tracking still says the package is "in transit to the next facility". ( It said that in tracking info dated Saturday 6/16, and again on Sunday dated 6/17). As of today at 11:10 AM it's still "in transit to next facility"? The expected delivery date says Monday 6/18 (today). So the USPS has been in possession of the package since Friday and it's still being driven across town. Either that, or the truck and driver have been abducted by aliens, OR there is one heck of a traffic jam. FedEx please stop handing packages over to USPS! read more

I told them several times not to put my packages inside my gate right in front of dog door. I've had so many packages destroyed lost alot of money. UPS always puts my packages on side of garage and I never had a problem. USPS lost a college book I ordered. It was $80. I tracked it, it was apparently delivered to "mailbox," but I never got it. I tried the postal services' 800 number- that's a joke because you can't get through to a person. So, I had to go to my local office. After three days of hounding the manager, I was told the mail carrier had placed it in someone's mailbox, and to ask my neighbors if they have it. USPS said unfortunately they wouldn't replace it because it wasn't sent with insurance (I had no control over that part). Apparently it's ok to lose someone's package and not replace it if they don't buy insurance! Unbelievable! read more

I really dislike having to come to the post office. I had to pick up a box that was not delivered to my house. The line was really long and it moved extremely really slow. Something that should only be a quick in and out thing took forever. I waited in line for about 20 minutes before I finally got called up to the counter. After the guy got my information about the box he went into the back and took a good 10 minutes before he came back out with my box. I hope I never have to do this again. read more

Nothing is more dreadful than having to go to the local post office. Its almost as bad as having to go to the DMV as you know when you get there, there is going to be a long slow line that never seems to go anywhere and even though there is huge line there always only seems to be 1 or maybe 2 reps helping out behind the register who think its fine to have a conversation about gardening while 20 other people are standing there listening to everything they have to say. Well that pretty much sums up how this place is. Whats worse is the self help kiosks always seem to be down so you have no choice than to wait 45 minutes for a stamp. read more

Terrible! Tracking showed "Delivered" but I have not received two items in a week. Instead, I have received not only neighbors' AMAZON packages but also my neighbor's bank statement and even a very important personal letter (I do not mention what it is)! Almost every week, I receive at least one wrong mail. And my neighbors receive mine. Filing complaints has done nothing, no improvement has shown. I have changed my delivery address to my friend's home where a different post office is in charge of delivery. read more

I'm never able to get ahold of anyone on the phone, I usually have to call periodically throughout the day to get in contact with anyone. However, there was a situation where I was expecting a letter that required my signature, but I work on the complete opposite end of town and was never home for the mailman to deliver. One of the clerks (who I finally was able to contact on the phone after numerous attempts) gave me his personal number and told me to stop by after I got off and to call when I was there and he would bring out my package. That isn't something he was required to do, and I really appreciate the extra effort he gave so I could get a very important document. read more
