horrible service, my mailman leaves packages in the locker and the key won't work. today the key broke off in the lock and I can't get 3 packages. I have told the mailman it won't work and he said it works for him. Well let him dig the broken key out and deliver my packages. I waited until I after I left Rio Rancho to review this post office. 1st the people who work in the office at the desk are generally nice. The mail carriers and the post office in general are the worst. My mail didn't arrive until between 6-8pm. I'd often get mail from people in my neighborhood, and they'd get mine. I know because "wrong address" would be written on letter like I'd write on letters that were misdelivered. They left a package that didn't fit in my mailbox ON THE STREET AT NIGHT. The lights to my house were on. I was waiting for the package all day. They just decided to leave it on the dark street. When I had a vacation mail hold they didn't follow the instructions or they did weird things with it. Once they left my delivered mail under a bush in my front yard. Another time, they didn't deliver the mail that I had specified to be delivered upon completion of the mail hold. They were waiting for me to come pick it up which wasn't going to happen because I worked late every day, which is why I said they were to deliver it. Most recently, they have no record of me changing my address in October (I received some forwarded mail), so when I went to move my furniture out of my house, I had about 50 pieces of 1st class mail that were not forwarded to me. I filed a complaint with the USPS, they said the mail forwarding was done correctly. Rio Rancho contacted me and left a message telling me to call them back if I had questions (they didn't leave a call back number, I called the number that called me which did go to the post office, but no one answered the phone the 10 time I called, literally). The RR post office said that I didn't change my address, and if I needed to change my address to stop by the post office or do it online. I ALREADY DID IT ONLINE. I HAVE THE CONFIRMATION NUMBER, AND I PAID $1.05. I had never called USPS customer service before living in Rio Rancho. I don't know if I will ever call customer service again. Yet again! The carrier has put my mail / package in the wrong box AND now they have lost the the package. Their response " we can't find it"! Shouldn't it be the post office's job to find it? Thank you soo much to Val, supervisor Sarah, and the crew at this location. Val patiently listened to my kind of weird situation and quickly went to get a supervisor to assist. Val and Sarah were able to quickly find and return to me a package I had left there for over 4 months because of a refund dispute with a seller. The seller didn't inform me that the shipping insurance denied his claim and I needed to pick up the package. So they held the package for me for over 4 months without knowing if and/or when I would pick it up. Then they were able to quickly locate the package so I can return it to the seller and get my $326 refund. Just in time for Christmas! read more

Rio Rancho, NM Postal Service: I would give the negative stars if I could. I have complained multiple time to the manager at the Rio Rancho. NM main post office. They know our delivery address is a business. It always lands on deaf ears. I show a package this package is out for delivery and I am waiting after hours to receive it and the delivery person has yet to show up. For some strange reason we never get mail or packages on Mondays. They always have the excuse the business is not open. They have particular instructions that are delivery hours are from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. The manager also always has the excuse that the main delivery person is on vacation. There are multiple business at this address and they have the same complaints and have spoken to the manager also. We often get mail for addresses that are now even close to this address as well as other businesses mail in our box. Once we received mail in July that should have been delivered in December, (Christmas cards and such). Rio rancho USPS, where's my package! read more

Horrible customer service. I have been waiting two months for a mailbox key. Every time I go to the store, they do not know when it will arrive or give me any information on it. I tried calling (4) times today to get some sort of answer, and the phone would ring until it hung up. Then finally the final time I tried, the call was answered and then I was immediately hung up on. I still have no idea about my mailbox key and I have important mail sitting untouched due to the lack of care and attention of this post office. This post office is a disaster to be generous. It has been over 7 months and I still have not been given a mailbox. Packages shipped with USPS say "left in mailbox" which is a blatant lie because they won't give me a mailbox and when I go to pick them up at the office they can't find them. I go in every week for the last 7 months to pick up my mail and every single time they give me a few pieces of other people's mail. They claim that there aren't enough mail boxes in my neighborhood for the new houses but nothing has been done for at least 1 year now (neighbors have the same issues) and nobody in there cares enough to find out any information for us on when or how this will be resolved. It's disturbing to find such careless individuals at a United States post office when our mail is a critical part of life. read more

First I tried to contact the RR Pinetree post office and was on hold waiting and waiting when I was told I am being forwarded to an operator. Then they hung up on me. My issue is with the delivery of packages. One was delivered to someone else and kept. I made a replacement order and received a notice that my package was delivered. I anxiously went to my mailbox and there was a key for my package. I opened the PO box and it was empty, no box. Honestly, I have received packages with no issues but this situation is time-consuming and difficult if I can't talk to someone. read more

Worst post office ever. I have lived in my house over two months. Took seven weeks to get a key for my mailbox. Had to go to the post office every day just to get my mail. Apparently they refuse to deliver packages because I get notifications every time that I have a package. No attempt is ever made to ring my doorbell, I don't work and I'm usually home when the mailman comes by. Yethey have never ever come to my front door! The only saving grace with this place is the clerks are nice enough people. But everything else is God awful, we have just recently moved and we had to wait a month for our keys granted going to get the mail at the post office wasn't completely terrible, the clerks were nice enough and the wait wasn't unbearable but a month for keys is completely unacceptable and then yesterday I finally got my keys and I go to open my mailbox and there's no mail and that's a problem because I know I am getting mail from informed delivery and I had a package that said it was placed inside my mailbox and it wasn't there and then when I call to file a complaint they give you the bare minimum in forms of communication and don't solve the issue or they say it's the carrier. If the carrier can't deliver mail to the right address then why are they employed? I have bills to pay and packages that I paid for but it's not like I can get my mail anywhere else, because the government has to have it's hands in everything and say where you can get your mail this is government incompetence at it's finest. This post office, while not my beloved home post office, is nearest to my work (which is far away from home) so when I need to get something mailed but won't be on home turf until after closing time, this is where I go. The line here is typically a bit longer than I normally experience at my PO, but that may be because of the time of day I'm usually here - 3:45pm or so. They do have a lovely selection of stamps, all displayed on shelves instead of tucked away in a drawer, so I can easily choose the ones I want. The employees here seem friendly, but then again I've never subjected them to a barrage of nonsense postage questions as I have the lovely mail officers at my home post office (HPO?). i was to receive 2--35 lb bags of dog food on thursday 8/19/2021. i got a email that delivery was attempted at about 9:45 am. the email said my mailbox was full and they could not deliver it. #1. you can not put that size of dog food in a mailbox. #2. i was home and no one rang my doorbell. #3. my mail box had 3 normal size envelopes in it. was the mail carrier to lazy to get out and leave my dog food on the front porch. they leave even small packages there and never even ring the door bell. i would love to see them get the dog food in my mailbox. such poor service. i hope they deliver it today. do i have to stay up all night or get up at the crack of dawn to make sure i get my shipment. needless to say i am unhappy with the post office. my shipment was from amazon and the post office has a contract with them yo make the deliveries. yeah right. When you're in a pinch to get stamps, this is the place to go. They have all sorts to choose from. They also take packages, if you're shipping via USPS. They'll process you as quickly as they can, but remember, this is a post office, so that might take a while. read more

I have lived in Rio Rancho for over 20 years and I have never had a good experience at this location. I go to other locations unless I HAVE to go here and it just so happens that our mail box was vandalized 6 weeks ago and it is still not replaced. So I have to go to this post office every other day to pick up my mail. The problem is no one there knows what the rules are. The manager said you can wait on either line to obtain my mail. When you wait on the customer service line they tell you to go wait on the passport line. Today I walked in and the passport line had about 10 people on it and not one person on the customer service line so I walked up and Úrsula told me I have to wait on the other line. I said you don't have a line, she said all those people are waiting, I said they are on a different line. Another woman who knew nothing didn't know what to do other than take my address down I told her I don't want to cut all these people. I told them what the manager said to me several times and Úrsula said I'm not aloud to leave the counter. What? Since when? You weren't leaving it there's another man there. I went to wait on the passport line and Oscar, who has gotten my mail for me several times and had told me both lines are fine didn't want to get involved. Oscar, who has told me that it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks to replace it, said today it could take up to a year. I asked Oscar for the supervisor's number he gave me a number that doesn't work and the main line to the post office is constantly busy ( off the hook) When is this post office going to get their act together? Worst POST OFFICE EVER! Never had I had such problems with a post office or delivery person! It's gotten out of hand. My mail lady (mail woman seems odd), decided I didn't live here anymore. She did not use the correct form to notify me that she was going to send my mail back to the senders (because I hadn't checked my mail in about a week), she did not give me a notice the correct number of days (10 days), and all this was confirmed by her Supervisor. She said she now has to go to her supervisor whenever she decides to hold mail. No sorry, no apology, nothing. I took time off work to deal with this, because when I went after work, I was told I needed to come in the morning so they can ask the her while she's picking up mail. She left a notice in my mail box that said VAC. What is VAC?! Vacation?! Vacant?! She didn't explain, no writing, no date, etc. Just stopped delivering my mail. So I filled out the form and said I am not on vacation, please deliver my mail. I turned it writing side up so she could see it was filled out. She turned it upside down and continued not to deliver my mail. I wrote a note that said, "PLEASE DELIVER MY MAIL" and she took the note, but didn't deliver my mail. I went tot he post office to be told I need to check my mail more often, that the form she left in my box was incorrect, but nothing could be done. School started for me on Monday, I was expecting school books in the mail, but they were sent back. My father's birthday present - sent back. This is not the first issue I've had with this particular person and I doubt it will be my last. Several times she doesn't deliver packages and leaves me a notice that I was not home...she leaves that notice in my box, but I was home and she never knocked on my door or rang my doorbell...I guess the stairs is too much for her. I've filed complaints before, but now I'm not stopping, I will complain until someone actually listens. read more

I love our post office for the most part. It gets busy very easily because they don't have a lot of people usually to help send your packages. I do like the one box fits all and it being just one price. Most of the people are very nice but I have had some people who are not so friendly and just want you to get it done and get out of the way. Which I understand if it's busy but you could always be courteous to customers. All in all it's the closest post office to my area and it gets the job done! read more

For the third time since I have lived here, the mailman has misdelivered my packages in my community mailbox into one of my neighbors' boxes, but scanned it to mine and claimed it "delivered". It was delivered at 9:11pm (after dark, so obviously the numbers couldn't be read very well) - isn't this the kind of DETAILS they are paid to notice? Bad enough I have worthless neighbors who feel they have a right to packages they didn't pay for just because they were put in their box. Postal workers are supposedly paid good money for just this kind of detail-oriented work. I also HATE that there is no way to file complaints with the postal service regarding these mistakes. I don't know what's up with the people that work here. First if you move here and your mail is delivered to a neighborhood gang mailbox you have to wait month's just to get a key, I moved into a brand new home and was told they had to rekey my mail box, why??? No one has ever lived in my house before me. I was told it would take months to get a key and that I had to pick up my mail at this post office, except the delivery person apparently never was informed because they keep delivering my mail to a box I don't have a key to and have no idea when I will get a key. Meanwhile packages I am expecting get delivered to the mailbox and I repeatedly have to go into this post office and have them tell the delivery person to bring my mail back to the post office so I can get it. One time I went in and picked up my mail and the guy at the counter gave me my mail and all of my neighbors mail, when I told him he also gave me my neighbors mail he yelled and me and told me it wasn't his fault the delivery guy had put it in the wrong box, like it was my fault. There were bank statements and mortgage papers all belonging to my neighbor and he just gave it to me, I had given him my drivers license so he had to know it didn't belong to me, or he just didn't bother to read the name. The postal inspector should investigate this place, if I wasn't an honest person I could have easily committed identity theft given all the financial documents the knucklehead gave me belonging to my neighbor. read more

Rather than provide solutions to situations, he added to the poor excuses as to why things aren't getting done. After a year of getting my neighbor's mail and not receiving my own, I am SO DONE with this post office. I have made too many phone calls with zero improvement. Today's example of incompetence takes the cake, though. A delivery attempt was made five days ago. I wasn't home and the package was appropriately returned to the post office. I did not receive any notification of the attempted delivery. When I tracked it this morning, I went to the post office and after 15 minutes of chaos, was told by the manager the package was left at my door yesterday no knock or doorbell ring and certainly no signature requested. Very Worst post office,ever!!!!! I am disabled but manage to get to my mailbox every day. The lock on said box is stuck but box closes. Mail lady noted lock problem when I saw her at boxes. I told her I did not care but from that day, 10 days ago, I have received NO mail. Called and went to main PO and was told there was no reason why I was not receiving mail. Phone is always off the hook so only by chance to calls get through and service at main moffice is both rude and non-existent. Don't know what to do!!!! Ok, here we go again !!! Again, they delivered my package to God Knows who! This is so ridiculous! I have been waiting for this package for a couple of weeks now. First my package said it would be delivered Jan. 26 and well nope that didn't happen! But ok, that can happen. So today Jan. 28th it says OUT FOR DELIVERY finally at 2:45pm I get a notification saying my package has been delivered in my mail parcel. So I go to check my parcel GUESS WHAT!!!!!! NO PACKAGE! Yet again cause this has happened a lot with THE RIO RANCHO POST OFFICE!!!! So than I call the number to put a claim in and I was on hold for over a HOUR! Something tells me I'm not the only one that's have problems with them ! The lady finally comes on to talk and she had the nerve to catch a attitude with me! Finally we get passed the rudeness and she gives me a case number. The point is why is this always happening RIO RANCHO POST OFFICE???? Why is there so much incompetence? I'm so sick and tired of not getting my mail/packages or your employees putting my mail/packages in other ppl's mail parcels. It's one thing if this happens once in a while but it's another when ITS ALL OF THE TIME!!!!!!!! I hope my package is found!!! Workers are beyond rude and slow. A line all the way past the door and one person working while the other employees just stare at their computers acting like they don't even see you. By far the absolute worst government office I've ever had to deal with. When asked if they could open another lane I was told "there's someone coming in a couple minutes but he had to go to lunch and I've only got two clerk scheduled." A clean, well lit place to handle your mail. Its well laid out the ones are not too long. Most importantly, the staff os very friendly and helpful. I've patronized post offices all over the country and I have to say that this staff is the most friendly I've ever encountered. Most post offices are staffed with personnel that appear to not want to work there and can be uncooperative and sometimes downright surly. Rio Rancho post office staff is professional, accurate and most of all, they are real humans and its a pleasure to do business here. I do recommend this post office and would rate it 5 stars if they had more people on duty or if they offered free WiFi so we can remain occupied while waiting in line. read more
