Although I remained calm and respectful throughout the interaction, she was consistently rude and dismissive. She interrupted me, would not listen to my concerns, and did not give me the opportunity to explain why I was there. I understand that these offices can be busy and stressful, but everyone deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect. Because of this experience, I plan to submit a formal letter describing what happened, including the employee's name, in the hope that future visitors receive better customer service.

I went while city voting was being done, but luckily they have plenty of parking so I had no issue finding a spot. You approach a librarian for a private room, which thankfully they had available. The WiFi was a tad spotty, but you are out in deep Rio Rancho so what do you expect! Kids area was large and clean, they even had an outdoor playground area. I also loved that they had a little bookstore on site. Keep in mind it is a $10 minimum for credit cards. I will def be back to work when I'm in the area!

Please, go to the library and enjoy the amenities. But offer patience and appreciation to the faces that you see in there putting in the effort and tell them 'thank you' for what they do, because they sure aren't getting that from their bosses. If you consider working here; don't, unless you need the experience and to pay bills. Make sure you keep your heart and personal issues in your life out of work no matter what unless you want everything you care for to be used against you in some capacity. They will not take any of your accommodations seriously unless they are forced to legally. They will exploit any loophole they can to verbally degrade you. Do not speak to them without HR present or without a record of the conversation. Record them. The director is a very vengeful and performative person that gets a kick out of manipulating, guilt-tripping, and gaslighting his majority female subordinates, and he and many of those in upper management view refusals of personal favors or establishing boundaries as personal offenses against their authority. They are not allies. They care more about making the numbers look good to the city of RR than providing a sustainable space that respects the work their librarians do. Look into their abnormally high turnarounds for a library system. It's not normal. - Written as a friend of many former librarians and assistants of the Rio Rancho library system.

We had a simple elegant wedding nothing to crazy with a little under 50 people when initially we expected about 60-70. The venue is affordable and well maintained. It was pretty dirty as far as it being the middle of summer, lots of dead roaches were found the morning of the wedding as according to what they said they had just sprayed the night before. It was perfect none the less. The reasons for the two star review: THE STAFF.. the staff is extremely RUDE. I called multiple times throughout the process of planning my event and spoke to several people. Charlene is the one that handled the wedding event she was pretty good with customer service and satisfaction. I did call quite a few times and spoke to other employees, was told multiple different things. When I had to submit my paperwork I called in January and they said not to submit it until 90-30 days prior. When I called to chat again 90 days before they told me I should have gotten it done way sooner? It was a ton of back and forth. The alcohol catering is TERRIBLE. I had people complain that the drinks were terrible, the servers had no clue what they were doing and Herman is just a bad business operator. He didn't finalize my contract until days before the wedding and still never sent me a Signed contract by him. My coordinator and company that I hired actually had to go down to El Zócalo because they refused to help me with THEIR caterer. They said they couldn't provide me with any other caterer as the City has a contract with Canvas. It was an absolute mess. To finalize: the venue itself was amazing. That's about it.
